Since Star didn't have any stealth-related skills like Koishi, I had to take a detour every time I detected a person on my way to the kingdom. Because of that, I reached the quiet part of the kingdom wall in the afternoon.

I transformed back to myself from Star and opened my status panel to check whether my RP was still at zero. Fortunately, its value returned as before I left this kingdom, so I transformed into Koishi. To avoid being teleported somewhere, I went to the nearest quiet alley and transformed back. Then I made my way toward the adventurer guild by walking.

When I entered the adventurer's guild, the place wasn't empty like usual. There were three groups of adventurers sitting and chatting. I'm getting disappointed by it since there weren't any adventurer girls or adventurers of other races among those groups, only muscular and burly old men. Still, I am sure they must exist in another city's guild. Then I walked towards the reception desk while ignoring the gazes of all the adventurers.

At the reception desk, Lillia was talking to an old man. His body was full of muscles, and he was so tall that I had to look up to see his face. On his back was a large sword almost as tall as him. It made me wonder how he could even swing such a heavy-looking sword. He made me a little nervous, yes, definitely just a little.

As soon as Lillia saw me, she said, "Oh, you come back this early. Are you going to give up?"

Before I could answer Lillia's question, the burly man cut me off, "So this cute little guy that wanted to be an adventurer? He looked worse than I thought, hahaha."

"Right! I even told him to stop, yet he continued. He may be thinking that being an adventurer is an easy job."

Then the old man suddenly got serious, "Is that true, little guy?"

"I know that being an adventurer is hard, but-" I hold myself back from saying, "It will be easy once my skill is fully unlocked."

"I don't want to give up before I try it. I'm here because I want to report that I completed your requirements, not to giving up."

"There is no way you completed it! I gave you that quest yesterday!"

"What kind of quest did you give to him, Lillia?"

"Subjugating five dire wolves and gathering five Elsia herbs."

"Yeah, there is no way a little guy like you complete in one day. Heck, I doubt that you can even fulfill it."

"HUH! Do you think I'm so weak that I can't even finish this quest?! I can show you the proof!"

"Then show me."

I took out the five wolves and the many herbs inside the magic bag.

"Urgh….." Lillia said while facepalmed.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHA."

The old man was laughing so loudly that it gathered everyone's attention.

"Eh, did I bring the wrong one? The herb may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the wolf is the target. Though I expect the large one is not."

"Can I ask where you find those wolves?"

"In the wolf's den forest."

"What the heck are you doing there?! The dire wolf is rare in that place. You can find them easily around the nearby forest."

"Eh, but I found a lot of them there."

"No, these five wolves you brought here are not the dire wolves but a Grey wolf. That big one is the evolved one, the great Grey wolf. They are pretty similar, but it is a different species."

"Does that means I should find the wolves again?"

"Not really. I want to test your strength. Since the Grey wolf is much more dangerous than the dire wolf, I'm willing to accept this one."

Then she looked at the herbs beside the wolf, "If I recall correctly, the quest is that you only take five of Elsia herbs? So can you explain why there are a pile of herbs here?"

"Well, since I can't differentiate each herb, and I don't want to go there again, I took every similar-looking herb around that place."

"If this is a real quest, I will take the herb without rewarding you."

"That sound unfair!"

"Do you think it is fair not to compensate me for separating the herb with that amount?"

"Ah… good point."

"Since you understand, I will start to inspect everything closely."

"Hey, Lillia, can I join you?"

"I don't mind."

Then they got closer to the wolves' corpses and the pile of herbs. Lillia checked at the wolves and the pile of herbs, while the old man only checked the huge wolf. He looked at it intensively, especially at the neck part.

After some time had passed, the old man stopped and asked me, "Did you kill this wolf alone?"

Urgh, I do want to brag that I killed the wolf alone but-. Urgh, I can only tell the truth in this situation, right? Then it couldn't be helped, "No, I got help from a big white wolf."

"That must be a phantom wolf or a snow wolf, but what is that monster doing there?" He mumbled, "Did you run away when you saw it?"

"No, I was going to beat that big wolf. But the white one came and killed it faster than me. At first, I planned to kill the white wolf too, but since it helped me, I decided not to do it."

The old man was stunned for a while. Then he laughed again.

"You have guts. I like that! Hey, Lillia, how about you let him pass so he can join my party?"

Lillia took five herbs and then turned toward us, "He did get the five herbs, and even though it is a different target, he got a much more dangerous creature. I guess he passed my conditions."

"So now I can become an adventurer?"

"Yes, but can I ask what you learned in this quest?"

I was puzzled by her question. I wondered what kind of answer was going to make her happy. In the first place, should I even learn something in this quest?

"Your reaction is my confirmation that you don't learn anything. You should have taken your time completing my condition."

"Taking my time?! You only give me five days to complete it!"

"Yes, that is what I thought your limit before giving up. But, to think you managed to complete it in one day is not within my expectation."

"Of course, I'm amazing after all."

Lillia gave me a disappointed look after hearing my statement.

"Anyway, I want you to learn how hard it is to find your target and how tiring it can be to go back once you realize you are under-prepared for the quest. I can guess you rushed fighting the wolf without any preparation, and I bet you don't even have a weapon now."

"Everything goes well in the end, so I don't see the problem."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, just don't curse me when you are dying."

Lillia walked toward her desk again. Then she took a white card from the drawer below her desk. She put the card on top of the desk.

"Give me one gold coin and take this card. Then insert the card inside the machine on the second floor."

I took out a single gold coin from my coin magic bag to Lillia. Then I took the card from the desk and walked upstairs.

On the second floor, I found a machine that looked like an ATM, with a blue crystal replacing what would be a screen. The body was made from wood to blend with its surrounding. In my opinion, this machine was out of place inside a fantasy world. Well, not that I care since I was more excited to be an adventurer than curious about this machine. So I quickly put the card in the slot.

Then the blue crystal glowed. It made me remember the day that bitch denied me to be an adventurer. I can guess what I must do in this situation. I put my hand on the blue crystal.

Then the slot where I put the white card let out a card with my name and attributes written inside it. Unfortunately my unique skill and the skill that I acquired from it not showed up. Then again I guess that was better since currently I wanted to hide it.

I took the card and walked downstairs again.

"So you done with registration?" Asked the old man.

"Yeah."

"Then how about joining my party? I can teach you many things, including differentiating herb."

"No thanks, I rather solo than join an annoying old man like you."

"Hahaha, you and your guts. Well, the invitation is always open. So don't be shy if you want to join later."

He then left the receptionist's desk.

"Say, now that I have done with the registration, how do I take a quest?"

"Oh yeah, I never tell you anything about the guild."

Lillia then explained to me about the system of the adventurer guild. At first, she was going to explain to me about adventurer rank, but I stopped her by saying that I knew about it from Walles, so she skipped it.

Then she told me about the card I obtained recently. It seemed that the card that I got recently was my ID. I could use it to get a lowered tax for entering any kingdom. If I lose the card, the guild won't let me accept or finish the quest. If I wanted to reissue it, I would have to pay the guild five gold coins.

She then explained that if I wanted to take a quest, I could go to the board near the entrance and take one of them to the receptionist. The receptionist could refuse me if I didn't meet the quest requirement. For example, Lillia would ban me from the herb-gathering quest because of my result.

She then told me that two kinds of quests came into the guild. One was the quests that got requested by the kingdom. The other one was a quest requested by the people near the guild.
The difference between them was not that much.

The quests that came from people varied greatly, from miscellaneous tasks, such as cleaning the sewer to subjugation quests, especially eradicating a monster that they deemed an annoying monsters. It seemed for the people of this world the adventurer guilds was a place where they could get help fast and cheap.

While the quest that came from the kingdom was usually about subjugating monsters. Such as killing monsters that had become too many or a regular clean-up of monsters in the dungeon. If after some time has passed and the quest is still not completed. The guild would form a group of high-ranked adventurers to complete it, and those that got selected by the guild could not refuse it.

I was curious about the dungeon, so I asked her about it. She answered me with saying that there was no dungeon in this kingdom, so she only told me to read the guide on the second floor.

"Anyway, you could take the quest right now if you want. Though I suggest that you search for an inn first."

I looked out the window of the guild, and I could see that it was quite dark outside of the guilds.
"Wow, I'm surprised that no one interrupted your explanation at me?"

"Yes, this place is so quiet that I got pretty bored by it."

"Well, I guess I will follow your suggestion.

"EH! There is not a single room available?" I asked the receptionist that I encountered yesterday

"Once again, yes, there is no free room left. We are very sorry." The receptionist said.

After I left the guild, I made a beeline toward the inn. It was the one where I broke the door. Even though it was not that late, the inn was already full. I should have booked a room before trying to complete Lillia's quest.

"Hngggg, Can I at least sleep in the employee room?"

"Sorry, but there is no employee room here. Only my private room, so you can't sleep there. If I may suggest, you could try to book at another inn on the opposite side of this kingdom."

Damn it, why everything was never going the way I wanted it to be.

I could follow his suggestion, but I didn't even know where that inn was. Not only that, trying to find the inn at this time will be a bad idea. I bet even if I found the inn, it would be full too.

"Is there no room left for me to stay here? I will pay even if it is expensive."

"Well, there is a room with no door, but I can't guarantee your safety using that room."

Ah, that was the room I broke into last time. Should I pay for the door? Right now, I probably have enough money to do that. I think I should do that. I don't want karma to fall on me for this little incident.

"Say, is the door for that room expensive?"

"Yes, it is quite expensive."

"How much?"

Rather than immediately answering my question, the receptionist stared at me suspiciously.

"Sir, are you the one who broke the door?"

I was shocked. I didn't expect that man to arrive at that conclusion.

"It seemed I was right. Then how about this, sir, if you could tell me the skill you used to avoid our detection? You don't have to repay for the door, and you can sleep in that room too."

"Woah! Really?"

"Yes. We have a good detection tool. I want to know how you get undetected by it."

"Then I tell you. The skill that I used is a max level absolute stealth."

The receptionist was surprised after hearing the skill name. His reaction made me a little happy inside. If only I could convince that guild master, I bet she would have the same reaction as him.

"Uhm… you are not lying, right?"

"Nope."

"Oh, that was quite a powerful skill you have. Knowing our detection tool cannot catch you. I believe you have that skill."

Though he said that, I could sense that he still could not believe me. Well, whatever, I was too tired to retort.

"As promised, you can go sleep in that room. Remember, there is no door in that room, so be careful with your belonging."

After that, I walked to the room where I broke the door the last time I slept here. Surprisingly nothing changed even after a few days. The room door was still on the ground in the same place.

Is the owner of this inn a lazy person or what?

Meh, it was not my problem. I wanted to go to sleep, so I lay on the bed. Then I think about my plan for tomorrow.

I looked at both of my empty arms. It reminded me that I didn't have any weapons. If I said I kill the monster barehanded, I bet they would not believe me. So I need to get a blunt weapon to fool the guild when I'm killing things as Rumia.

Other than that, I should try to complete a quest, not that I needed money. I just wanted to experience finishing a proper quest.

"Well, since the plan for tomorrow is done. I better get some sleep for today."
