No Such Luck... or Destiny's Deceit?
Ch 2: The Ominous Game of Chance
Today was another day, Lincoln got up from his mattress and went to the bathroom to attend to his personal hygiene. and remove the foul-smelling sweat from his armpits to put it lightly. The 11-year-old Loud was irritated as he put on his trademark polo and jeans, then put on the suit his 'family' made him wear. He sighed as he went downstairs, only to hear Lana and Lola fighting.
"Hey Lincoln! Can you come to my beauty pageant?" Lola asked, when Lana kicked her face with her foot.
"No, don't listen to her! You should come to my alligator wrestling competition!"
The twins resumed their squabble, and as Lincoln headed into the kitchen, Luan came in.
"Hey Lincoln!" Luan called her brother.
The 11-year-old Loud turned to the comedian of the Loud residence. "What now Luan?"
"Can you come to my birthday party? I need to entertain the kids." She said.
"I'll come after I finish eating." Lincoln said as he popped out a bowl of cornflakes with milk, and began eating the cornflakes.
Luan then went downstairs, dressed in her clown outfit and comedy accessories in hand. "You done yet, 'cause we don't want to be late at the party!" She joked.
Lincoln scoffed as he put his bowl in the sink. "I'm done…" He put the suit's head on. "Let's go to your party…" He thought. "I hope that it's just Luan I'll have to be a good luck charm to for today…"
So, they went to the birthday party, and Lincoln was surprised. He didn't know that it was Jeremy's ninth birthday today. The 11-year-old Loud watched as his comedic sister did some magical tricks. Lincoln smiled as he saw the joy on Jeremy's face, and the children laughing and running around. He then decided to be lost in his thoughts, wondering why and how this 'bad luck or good luck' crap started.
The kids saw him as a huggable mascot, and Lincoln was glad that he had been wearing the suit, because he was blushing in embarrassment the whole time. The children's hugs were as tight as a vise, to say it.
Later, after the party, they walked home. Luan cracked a joke. "Hey Lincoln! What does an alligator do when it commits a crime?"
"I don't know?" Lincoln said, confused.
"You call an investi-gator!" Luan laughed.
Lincoln could've given an approving chuckle, but he was too hot to care right now. Mr. Grouse was looking out the window, and said. "Nice costume, Loud!" The 11-year-old Loud was annoyed at the old man's compliment, as he took off the suit's head. "Finally…after all of this, I can finally—"
"Hey Lincoln!" Lola said.
"Fucking dammit…" He said through gritted teeth. "What? Did you win your little fight with Lana?"
"Yes, and I want you to be a good luck charm for the rest of my pageant, understand?!" Lola said.
Lincoln scoffed. "I understand…" He put the suit head back on. "I was going to have some free time after…"
They got in the van and went on the way to Lola's beauty contest, Lincoln wondered, if his family loved him or not. Ever since this bullshit started, they treated him like some sort of imperfection. He just wanted some free time, and this is what he gets. Knowing his sisters, they can get mad at him telling them that he can't come to their events, Lynn Jr. did the same with him a couple of weeks ago. She forced him to come to her game that one day, and now he's responsible for her loss? Lincoln denied that at first, then cooked up an idea in his mind. He took it as a one-way ticket to free time, and his dream came true. He was banned from his sisters' activities.
However, things took a worse turn just a few days later. He got kicked out of his own home, and was forced to sleep outside within a timeframe of a couple of months. His room was boarded up due to the fact that it was tainted with 'bad luck'. Lola even told him that he can't come, and now, Lincoln is slowly reaching his breaking point. He was fine on the outside, but inside, he was not.
They reached the building where Lola attended her beauty contests and pageants. She was aiming to get that Little Miss Perfect sash this year, and win the beauty contest with flying colors. They sat on their respective seats, and watched as Lola got up on the stage along with other performers.
"Lincoln? Is that you?" Robert asked.
"How did you even know that it was me?" Lincoln asked Robert.
"We can still see your face, even though you're in the suit." Stephanie pointed out.
"Nice…" The 11-year-old Loud scoffed, as he rolled his eyes away from the Chica fanatic.
Lincoln's rude attitude pierced Stephanie's heart. She didn't expect that response from him. Stephanie sniffled a bit, while clearing her sinuses. She thought. "Lincoln…why are you being like this…?" The teenage girl then curled into a ball.
"And the winner is…" The judge said as she put the Little Miss Perfect sash on Lola. "…Lola Loud!"
The other performers groaned, the other half cheered for Lola. Lynn Sr. and Rita clapped their hands, except for Lincoln who just stared at his princess of a sister.
However, Elijah was going to expect a talk with Lincoln later to get a better grasp of the 'bad luck or good luck' situation, and sort things out to find out the cause of the mishap. They left the building, with Lola saying as she was shrieking, "Thanks, Lincoln!"
"No problem, sis…" Lincoln said as he put on a fake smile on his face.
Lynn Sr. examined the fake smile on his son's face, and he thought. "Are we going too far hurting Lincoln?"
"Lincoln," Elijah said in a serious tone. "we need to talk later."
Lincoln replied. "Sure thing, Elijah…" He said as he took off the head of the suit.
Later, at the Reeds residence…
They arrived at Elijah's house, they got off the van. Lynn Sr. asked Elijah. "What are you going to do with him?"
"Oh, we're just going to have a little talk." Elijah said, as he opened the door to his house. His other three friends and Lincoln got inside. "See 'ya, Mr. L!" He said as he gradually closed the door.
Michael sighed as he held Lincoln's hand. "OK…" He looked at his friend. "Where are your parents?"
"They are at work for tonight, Mom's attending the night shift at Royal Woods General, and Dad's coming home at midnight for today, he was doing a late shift at work." Elijah explained.
"Let's get this over with…" Lincoln said as he took off his suit, and placed it near the front door. He then went to the couch, to sit there after a long day of being a good luck charm to his family. "Finally…" He thought.
So, the friends came and sat down in their respective places on the sofa. There was silence between Lincoln, Michael, and his friends. It lasted for 15 minutes, and Robert was the one to start the talk.
"So…" Robert said as he twiddled his fingers. "…what's with that costume over there?" He pointed at the squirrel suit in the hallway to the main door of Elijah's house.
Lincoln breathed through his nose. He blurted out. "It was from the last softball game my sister Lynn won."
"I didn't know you're interested in sports…" Stephanie said as she removed her hair clip and put it back on. "…were you one of those mascots for the softball game?"
Lincoln sighed, and wagged his finger. "No…no, Stephanie, it's not really like that. The thing is, my sister Lynn saw me as a good luck charm in it, so does my, entire, family…" He said as he vented out his frustration through swearing. "LIKE WHAT THE FUCK, LYNN?! JUST BECAUSE YOU LOST YOUR GAME, I WAS THE CAUSE OF IT?!"
Michael and his friends looked at Lincoln with bewildered faces. The 11-year-old Loud then sat down, and said. "Sorry…"
Elijah cleared his throat. "Ahem…anyways, uh, what were you talking about when you said your sister lost her game and blamed it on you?"
"After that one softball game, she blamed it on me and labeled me as bad luck." Lincoln explained, as he paused to catch his breath. "I denied that fact at first, but—"
"Your sister did WHAT?" Stephanie asked, slamming her fist into her hands.
"Jeez, calm down…let me explain…" The 11-year-old Loud said, as he continued to explain his current situation. "I got an idea in mind, and I used it to get the free time I desperately wanted, my dream came true, but things took a worse turn just a few days later, my room was boarded up, because those shitheads thought it was tainted with bad luck, and secondly, I got kicked out of my house for two months! You know where I slept on? The pile of leaves in the backyard, I have to wake up every day with rodents in my PJs! When Dad said we were going to the beach, he told me I can't come because something bad will happen!"
"That old geezer…" Robert said, through gritted teeth. "I swear, if I see him anywhere in R.W., I will give him the worst nightmare in his life!"
"OK, here's the continuation, they even sold away my stuff! When I told them I wasn't bad luck, Dad asked me to get farther away from the house! When I wore that suit, they finally apologized, and the result? They saw me as good luck in that thing!"
Michael's head was ringing with Lincoln's last lines at this point. "Oh…" He smiled menacingly, as he put on his Foxy mask. "Say, why don't I give her a punishment…?"
"No!" Lincoln said as he shook his head. "Don't try to scare her!"
The Afton teenager then took off his mask, to the point that his face can be seen. "Fine…
To be continued in Ch 3…
A/N: FNAFLHFaN2006 here, whilst I was making this chapter, I was listening to Notion by The Rare Occasions. Listening to the song, helped set the tone for Lincoln's situation right now. Elijah then talked with Lincoln to get a better handling of the situation, same goes for Michael, Stephanie, and Robert. I was planning, you know Michael in the canon series, right? The Big Brother who scares the Crying Child before his death in 1983. I wondered, what if Michael Afton did that to Lola Loud? And again, there will be NO Bite of '83 in my AU, for those who will request it, I'll just do an 'if' fanfic. Peace out.
