Chapter 10
AN: Hey guys! I know, I know, I'm late. I had been working on this chapter for a while, I just wasn't liking how it was turning out. It took me a while to figure out how to get it past the spot that gave me issues. Anyways, I've gotten past the issues, and got the story made. I won't lie to you. I finished this chapter before Christmas Eve, but not by much. Let's face it, my updates are sporadic except for when Christmas rolls around, and the chapter will be posted just in time for Christmas day. One last thing, get your snowsuits ready, it's about to get cold.
Platform 9 3/4 London, England. September 1, 1992
Vivian sat in the compartment of the train back to Hogwarts after a rather uninteresting summer. Though she did see most of her friends for the holidays, she had no real tales to tell for this year's summer break. The most interesting part of the summer was the fact that she was receiving no letters from friends she didn't live near. That became mute point since Susan, Sakura, Shirou, and Rin live in the same house as her. On a side note, the trip to get school supplies for this year left the group stunned.
Learning that Gilderoy LockHeart was going to be teaching at Hogwarts this year thanks to a contract signed by the previous headmaster was going to make the year annoying for her. He tried to use her for a front page photo at Flourish and Blotts, but was thouroughly chastized by Caster. The only thing that kept him from getting hit by the weight of her houses' titles was the fact that he never was able to grab her. Reading his books, the entire group only got one copy of the books since Caster decided they were useless as 'instructional material.'
It was almost time for the train to depart, the group sitting in their expaded compartment, when Draco arrived. Vivian was watching a certain bound object in the compartment. Jealter had her sword pointed at it. Hannah was practicing her sign language with Susan. Rin was reading a book while drinking a cup of coffee, looking half asleep while doing so. Hermione was being playing monopoly with Sakura and Shirou. Lastly was Jeanne and Cedric playing chess.
"I'm sorry I couldn't keep much contact. My father dragged me to meetings with his old Death Eater friends. It's obvious he wants me to be just like him and follow in his footsteps." Draco introduced his palm to his forehead. "How was I so blind to it before?"
"I'd say that he made sure your mom had little influence in your life." Rin started as she sipped on a hot caramel latte. "By doing so, he could esencially make it to where the only real influence you had from her was at meals. If I am right, he would tell her to be quiet quite often at meals, yes?" Draco nodded. "Then his goal was definitely to make you into an almost exact copy of himself, and likely for you to bend your knee to his master."
"Checkmate, Cedric." Jeanne said as she looked over to her sisters. "Jealter, Eu, Draco has arrived."
"Nice to see you made it, Draco. Would you be so kind as to tell me why one of your house elves was attepting to keep me from returning to school?" Vivian signed out.
"Eu, I think you forgot that Draco doesn't know sign language." Jeanne lightly laughed. before turning to Draco. "Good to see you, Draco. I'll go over your essays on the way to Hogwarts. What she asked was why your house elf there tried to prevent her from returning to school this year." Jeanne pointed to the bound object. Looking at the now observed house elf, Draco almost had his jaw hit the floor.
"Dobby!?" Draco couldn't contain the shock of seeing his elf. "What are you doing? Why would you try to keep one of my friends from coming back to Hogwarts? Did my father set you up to this?"
"Young Master Draco, I's be trying to protect Vivian Potter. She must not return to Hogwarts. Bad Master be saying things be changing this year, how object of dark lords' be used to get rid of the unworthy."
"So Draco's father is being an idiot, using a dark artifact he got from Riddle, and is going to get rid of the mundane born?" Jealter summerized. "How sure are we that we can't just have Kita find and re-ack" Jealter was cut off by a polearm smacking her in the face.
"I believe you have been told that hunting down the Death Eaters that escaped time in Azkaban was against the law. Snape was one thing, since he had slapped our little sister." Jeanne scolded her twin.
"Did you really have to smack me in the face with your polearm?" Jealter glared as she held her bloody nose.
'She did. You do tend to not be kept calm unless someone reminds you to do so physically.' Vivian wrote out.
"Bruises aside, we need to deal with this situation." Draco pointed out as he turned his head back to looking at Dobby. "Now Dobby, we need to talk about a few very important things regarding my friends."
The rest of the train ride was spent telling Dobby that Vivian would be safe since she had plenty of protection from her sisters, then playing games as Jeanne went over everyone's summer homework. Most of the games were simple, like chess and Checkers, but Clue looked to be the favorite of the group.
Hogwarts Scottland, England September 4, 1992
The first two days back at Hogwarts were rather simple, yet still fun if you asked most of Vivian's friends. Aside from Pansy Parkinson becoming a growing annoyance for the group, Vivian befriended Tracey Davis and Daphne Greengrass in the first Herbology class of the year. The lesson had been on mandrakes, and Prof. Sprout had everyone wear protective earmuffs because the mandrakes would knock out the ones hearing it. Neville, bless his heart, passed out when the first one was pulled from its old pot to be replanted. Perhaps the funniest part, which made Vivian slightly smile, was when Pansy got bit by her Mandrake.
Every class was was going like normal, up until this day. Today was Defense class with Lockheart. The class was sitting at their desks, when LockHeart entered the class in a rather outlandish outfit. Vivian almost wanted to let Jealter go ahead and set the outfit on fire, but that would get her in trouble with Aunt Amelia again. As he entered, he began speaking about how heroic and wonderful he was. The majority of the girls in class were fawning over him, minus Vivian, Sakura, and Susan. Hermione was entranced, and answered every question on the quiz. Vivian looked at the test, and proceeded to draw on it instead of answer the questions. Susan made a hat out of hers, and Sakura ignored it in favor of reading a cookbook for new dessert recipes. By the time class ended, LockHeart was confused as to how he ended up with a picture of Venus, a dunce cap, and a recipe for Butterscotch Caramel Cheesecake.
As the class let out, Hermione was about to chastise the others for not taking class seriously, when Vivian pulled out her note pad.
'Hermoine, don't take everything he wrote as fact. We looked through the books, and found multiple instances of him making up his tales, and taking credit for others' acheivements.' Vivian wrote out. 'Do remember how there are those who take the GWL books as gospel of what I've done as truth, and you know it isn't.'
"Well, that's true, but..." Hermione looked down.
"Mione, his quiz in class was all about himself. We are clearly not going to learn anything from him." Susan pulled out a copy of one of LockHeart's books. "Eu, can we turn these things to cinders yet?"
"Ano, I don't think that's allowed, Susan-chan." Sakura spoke out.
"H-How could you burn his work?" Hannah was shocked. "Prof. LockHeart is just so handsome, and charming. I-it has to be true."
"Petals, he is about as true as I am to be awarded Merlin First class." Jealter frowned. "I'm not likely to ever be given a Merlin First Class award, so he is a fraud."
Jeanne sighed. "As rude as my twin sister may be, she is right. We would have brought it to light, but we are currently short on proof."
'I'd use runes to make him confess, but that would get me in a lot of trouble with Mother and Aunt Amelia.' Vivian replied as they walked into the Great Hall for dinner. Draco joined them as they sat at the Hufflepuff table. The discussion of how LockHeart was a fraud and bringing him to light was set aside for another day.

Sakura was wandering the hallway during the Halloween feast. Vivian had decided to go to the library instead of wandering the hall. The troll last year was a rather rude experience for the day she reflects on the what could have been. As Sakura was wandering the hall, she was carrying Mrs. Norris while chatting with Sir Nicholas. The fact that Mrs. Norris was purring would have set most thinking it was the end times, but not Sakura. She and Vivian were just about the only members of their group of friends that Filtch never got angry with. He was grateful to how the two were always trying to reign in the others, as well as helping him get things to take better care of his as the unlikely trio were about to go down the stairs, Sakura caught a glimpse of something through Sir Nicholas. Next thing she knew, her body froze up, and everything went dark.
Vivian, Jeanne, Jealter, and Eri walked towards the Great Hall to spend a few moments with Vivian's friends before heading to bed. Unlike last year, nothing too dangerous was happening. As thy walked, they noticed the hallway had a lot of water in it. Not liking where this was going, the four of them followed the trail of water, until they came across a site they were familiar with. They saw Sakura's purple hair, and were about to speak to her, when Vivian quickly pushed past the others. Rushing around to look Sakura in the eye, Vivian sent a mental link to her sisters.
'Eri, Check over Sir Nicholas. Jealter, Jeanne, we need to get ahold of Mother. Sakura is holding Mrs. Norris, and neither are moving.' Vivian put a hand on Sakura's cheek. 'Cold to the touch, but life still flows through her. Whatever it was that did this, it was much more dangerous than the troll from last year.'
Before more could be conversed about, the hall flooded with students. One Theodore Nott pointed to the wall where an unnerving message was written in what appeared to be blood. "'The Chamber of Secrets has been opened, Enemies of the Heir beware.' Looks like all the mudbloods are going to get what's coming to them." He was about to laugh when he was grabbed by the ear by Prof. McGonagall.
"I believe we made it clear last year that slurs like that will no longer be acceptable from anyone, Mr. Nott. You will be serving the next month in detention with me. Sixty points from Slytherin for poor behavior. Miss Potter, I assume you arrived shortly before we did?" McGonagall asked after scolding the boy.
"We did. We were on our way to the Great Hall to spend a couple moments among her friends when we found them like this." Eri spoke, motioning to Sakura, Mrs. Norris, and Sir Nicholas. "We will get ahold of mother and see if she can get us some mandrake draught for them."
All students were dismissed back to their dormitories, as the petrified were moved to the Hospital Wing.
School Board Meeting Location Unknown November 1, 1992
Caster sat at a round table to discuss the new threat to the school. As one of her wards was the victim of the incident, she had a vested interest. Among the board members, only herself and Lucius Malfoy had children at the school. This fact should have made him want to make sure the school his son was in was safe, however, he seemed to be trying to keep aide from being given to the school. This arguement between the board, specifically Caster and Lucius, had been going on for three hours, and Caster's thermos of tea was running empty from the number of times she has refilled her cup.
"I honestly don't see why we are even discussing this." Lucius spoke arrogantly. "No one of any importance was harmed, only a lowly muggleborn fool that shouldn't be allowed to enter our world."
Caster looked at him with a glare. "So your veiw on the mundane born is why you refuse to allow aide to a school that your son attends." She motioned to the others. "I have no need to ask where you all stand at this point. I can tell by your downcast eyes that you want to provide the aide needed, including sending aurors and restorative draught. However, it seems that the head of the family of 'Bad Faith' has you all thouroughly blocked, stopping any draughts and aurors from going."
"It would be a waste of resources to use any when there is already a crop growing on the grounds." Lucius sneered.
"A crop that is not going to be ready until just before June." Caster stood at this point, done arguing with the man. "You have just made it to where one of my wards is to spend more than half of her second year at Hogwarts in what is essensially a magical coma, leaving her far behind her classmates just because you view those not of 'pure blood' origin as unworthy. If I had my way, you and everyone like you who had gotten off on the Imperius defence would be retried under my runes that prevent lies. You have already had Mr. Black's long overdue trial postponed until the summer of 1999 due to your bribes to the current minister, why he hasn't been impeached yet is beyond me. Even with out your approval, I am sending My daughter Kita to the school to protect the children. May you get exactly the retribution you deserve, Lucius Malfoy." Caster turned and left the room before anything else was said, missing the seething glare of Lucius Malfoy.
Hogwarts Castle Scottland, England November 15, 1992
Majin Okita Souji Alter, better known by her 'sisters' as Kita, wandered the halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a kind of guard for the students. She had been assigned by Caster, mostly called Mother, to guard the children, including her master. She was probably the furthest from her master than the others emotionally. She knew her purpose. As a Heroic Spirit, and member of the Counter Force, she knew her role upon being summoned. She was to fight a single specific fight. Earlier in the year, she thought she had found the fight she had been called for, but it was not the one. She walked unharmed from the Acromantula nest, feeling like the time was coming, but was not yet there. When Caster told her she was to head to Hogwarts, she knew in her heart that she would not be walking out of the school.
As she wandered the halls late at night, she heard a sound. Moving to identify the source, she came face to face with a giant serpent. The moment she met its gaze, she felt her spirit core start to destabilize.
'My core... So that is why my master's friend ended up petrified. The Phantasmal Beast is a Basilisk, its gaze is cause of instant death, with venom that kills within minutes of being bitten. I don't have long, but I will take this beast down with me.' Kita thought to herself as she drew her blade. The beast was confused as to why its gaze had not killed the person in front of it. Kita focused most of her energy, gathering it to her blade as she rushed forward."I will pierce the infinite world. I will sever the thread of destiny with this boundless light! Zekken, Mukyusandan!" She drew her blade, and proceeded to deliver multiple slashes as fast as light, cutting into the basilisk, before one slash sent her back where she started. At that moment she channelled all her gathered energy into a beam she shot out of her sword, turning the beast to dust when it hit. After the beam had faded, the motes of light that were coming off her body since her core became destabilized started to increase in number.
"Master, I may never have said so, but I was proud to be your sister." She sheathed her blade one last time. "Rengokuken, my old friend, I want you to find Eu. Take what little energy I still have, and transfer my skills with it to her." The blade in her hand glowed with her magic, before warping away. "Thank you... Goodbye, my sisters..." With the last of her magic gone, Kita faded from the physical world, returning to the Throne of Heroes.
Elsewhere in the castle, Vivian was getting ready for bed, when she felt a disturbance. She could feel the battle happening in the school's hallway, and was hoping that Kita wouild come out of it unharmed. Those hopes were dashed when Jealter, Jeanne, and Vivian saw Rengokuken appear in Vivian's her hands touching the sheathed odachi, Vivian had all of Kita's techniques and abilities transfered to her. At that moment, time seemed to stand still, all before tears flowed from Vivian's eyes as she cried out loud.
"No..." Jeanne and Jealter froze as Vivian verbally spoke. "NO!"
Outside on the school grounds, a massive blizzard swarmed the grounds, coating everything in snow.
AN: ... I did warn you to get your snowsuit ready. I know it is probably going to get me yelled at for killing Kita off, but hear me out. I use Okita Alter alot in FGO, I honestly like the character, but this was a hard choice to make. If I'm being entirely honest, I almost had her return to the Throne of Heroes back at the Acromantula nest battle, but felt she needed a better send off than being spider chow. At this point, things are going to get more heated, especially since Vivian will be emotionally charged to get to the bottom of the Chamber incident.
You guys are all awesome! As I said before, you're why I continue to write. I finished a week before Christmas Eve this time! It took a lot out of me to get this one written, as I was not having an easy time figuring out how to start this chapter. I think it turned out great, but I want to hear your thoughts on how this chapter turned out. One last gift for you, a quick little preview of a story I plan to write after I finish Fate Re-Written. Im still in the planning phase for it, so it is liable to change later.
As always, let me know what you think, and keep being awesome.
Happy Holidays!

"I-it h-h-hurts." Mumbled a small child from the cubboard under the stairs at 4 Privot Drive. "S-someone... h-help me..."
Harry, though not that he knew his name, had just turned four, and was given a beating for his birthday by his Uncle Vernon before being locked in the cubboard. He never got to know his parents, but he heard his Aunt and Uncle saying bad things about them. If the way he was being treated was anything to go by, they must not be telling the truth.
Meanwhile in a space center in orbit, a young lady with purple hair and mechanical rabbit ears in a very 'Alice in Wonderland' kind of dress was furiously typing on her computer. She was searching for something specific, the multiple maps on her screen showing a targeting locater as she typed fast enough that you'd think her keyboard would catch on fire.
"Mado-chi, I have the coordinates you pointed to on the map pin-pointed. I'm sending them your way." The young girl was mad. Her best friend Chi-chan's Ikkun sensor had been thought to be lost to both Chi-chan and her clone/younger sister Mado-chi when Ikkun passed away from the poison that had been put in his blood when he was kidnapped. To find out from Chi-chan and Mado-chi when they had that meeting to settle their differences after Ikkun's passing that they could feel Ikkun's pain like they had in the past had her confused. Finding out that they could feel his age was only four had made her furious. 'Ikkun's spirit must have been reborn anew just after he was born. Chi-chan said that she felt a faint pull toward Ikkun at about July 31, three weeks after Ikkun passed away. Mado-Chi and Chi-chan felt it flare for a moment eighteen months later for a brief moment, and just a month ago felt it again, only much louder and longer. From what I can gather, Ikkun's reborn self is around four now, same age as my little sister, Houki. You may have a new name, and a new life, but if Chi-chan and Mado-chi can sense your pain, you are definitely Ikkun reborn. No need to worry, Ikkun, we will save you, or my name isn't Tabane Shinonono.'
