Countdown To Destiny-Ch 1
The next morning when Penelope woke up she woke up to an empty bed, she threw the covers back, grabbed a quick shower, got dressed and made her way downstairs to see Derek on the floor playing cars with Jack and Henry, she stood watching them for a few minutes before walking the rest of the way to the kitchen.
She smiled and said, "goodddddd morning everybody", Shelly and Sandy grinned and said, "morning P" in unison as they took a sip of tea, morning sickness was coming and going with them and right now they couldn't stand the smell or taste of coffee so Fran got up when they did and made some tea to help settle their tummies before the others got up and the aroma of coffee filled the house.
Fran said, "here you go sweetie" as she poured Penelope a cup of coffee, Penelope looked at her sister-in-laws and said, "how are you two doing today?", Sandy said, "we were a little nauseated earlier but Fran fixed us some of this delicious tea and it helped settle our stomachs so it's allllll good".
Sarah, Desi, Paul and Patrick walked into the kitchen and Fran said, "good morning you all, how is everybody doing today?", they all smiled and Desi said, "we're good momma", Fran hugged her daughter and said, "that's good baby, that's good", she then said, "okay the food is set up on the counter so dig in".
As Fran walked out of the kitchen Penelope said, "all I want is thissssssss" as she grabbed a couple chocolate muffins and walked over to the table and sat down, she was quickly surrounded by the other women and they were all laughing and talking when Derek and the other men walked into the kitchen.
After they enjoyed their food Henry and Jack asked if they could go outside and play to which they were told yes and as Penelope stood looking out the window as she cleaned up her cup she sighed happily because it was so beautiful outside, the glistening snow made things look so much more beautiful.
Derek walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her and said, "you want to join us?", she said, "that sounds like fun handsome", he kissed her lips and said, "alright, let's go get our stuff on and get outside", she laughed and said, "sounds good, sounds good" as she headed up the stairs to put on a thicker sweater.
A few minutes later when they all walked outside Penelope took a deep breath and said, "it's beautiful, cold but beautiful out here", Derek said, "watch outttttttt" as a snowball was hurled her way, she turned to see her brothers with snowballs in their hands, she said, "ohhhh you're gonna get it" as she started tossing snowballs back at them.
Fran stood watching as her family played together like children and she had to admit that she loved seeing them all so happy and carefree and as she looked around at all of the snow it brought back memories of when her three children were little, she sighed and said, "things are falling into place for everybody".
She jumped when Dave said, "it's destiny Bella", she playfully swatted his chest and said, "you scared me", he said, "sorry but I'm right", she nodded her head and asid, "I know, I know, I mean all of my babies are grown and Derek is engaged, the girls are dating and their lives are all falling into place".
Dave said, "so all of the things that are happening are destiny", she nodded her head and said, "that it is and since NEw Years is coming up in less than a week we can say that we are counting down to destiny", Dave pulled her into his arms and siad, "and what a destiny it is", Fran smiled happily and said, "destiny at it's best" as their attention then turned to the children playing and laughed.
Dave said, "you know what they say?", she picked up a snowball and tossed it at him, hitting him in the stomach and said, "if ya can't beat em join em", Dave said, "ohhhh it's on, it is onnnnnnn" as he too started tossing snowballs and for a while the only sounds that could be heard was the shouts of happiness as snowball after snowball was thrown.
For a few hours the BAU laughed and played like children as they enjoyed spending time together as one big happy family.
