The crowd watches as they see two combatants from the teaser, who appeared in various games are now facing each other off in a one on one duel.
Wiz: Their rivalry is legendary and their fame unmatched. After battling for over two decades, this epic duel will finally meet a decisive end.
Most were interested in this match-up including Chiaki. Two video game character and mascots for their company and that they are rivals for three decades supposedly, they have so much in common in the episode.
"Ha! That some rivalry there." Kaito chuckled
"Another good reason for another good fight!" Akane exclaimed
Boomstick: I've been waiting for this forever!
"So have I!" Chiaki exclaimed
Wiz: Mario, the whimsical Italian plumber.
Boomstick: And Sonic, the hyperactive hedgehog.
"Heh heh, this fight is gonna be cool as hell. I can feel it!" Leon noted
"Ladies and gentlemen, Its plumber versus hedgehog! This is the match that most fans have been waiting for!" Kokichi chirped
"We get it dipshit! No need for a reminder of what we're watching!" Miu replied
Monokuma made a plain face and stood silent, while staring at the screen.
"Umm... Daddy, what's wrong? Why the long face?" Monophanie wondered
"It's him... the one hedgehog, who I HATE SO MUCH AND HIS WORLD-WIDE FAME AND GAMES!" Monokuma spoke and yelled out, enraged with his claws sticking out.
"Wha whoa, Papa Kuma is going all rock hard n shit!" Monokid noted
Wiz: I'm Wizard and he's Boomstick, and it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
"As for a gamer who knows these two characters all too well, I'm gonna allow Chiaki to do the explanation." Nagito noted
"Mario is the red Italian plumber and the head mascot of Nintendo, and Sonic the Hedgehog is the blue hedgehog and head mascot of Sega. Mario was created by Shigeru Miyamoto and made his first appearance in an arcade game called "Donkey Kong" in 1981. Until four years later, "Super Mario Bros" was released for the NES. "Super Mario" as its called is part of the Mario franchise and more than 380 million copies of Super Mario games have been sold worldwide. Sonic on the other hand was created Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima and Hirokazu Yasuhara and made his first appearance in "Sonic the Hedgehog" game in 1991 for the Sega Genesis console. " Chiaki explained

MARIO

Wiz: Mario is one of the Star Children and possesses many special abilities with the intent of protecting his home, the Mushroom Kingdom. Even as a baby, he was obviously destined for greatness.
Some of them smiled as this was one of the old classic fairy tales when a hero is destined to protect the kingdom and land from evil.
Boomstick: When you've got an army of dinosaurs serving you before you can even speak, you know you're gonna do great things.

Wiz: Plus, he's a powerhouse, with the strength to lift heavy objects and crush enormous castles. He also uses his bare fists to smash solid brick.
Most of them were impressed by Mario's immense strength including Nekomaru and Gonta.
"Wow! Gonta never thought Mario would be so strong." Gonta exclaimed
"Well, he is one of the Star Children, therefore, he's possessing some extraordinary powers." Chiaki noted
Boomstick: With his jumping skills and weight, he can pound and crush his foes into oblivion, and if he needs some extra firepower, well, he's got his entire arsenal of power-ups!
The group including Chiaki were listening carefully to Mario's variety of power-ups. The first power-up is a glowing red flower with eyes, and when Mario picks it up, his clothes turned white and overalls red and he shoots fireballs at his enemies.

Wiz: His first power-up is the Fire Flower. With it, Mario obtains pyrokinetic abilities.
"He setting things on fire?! Hell yeah!" Leon exclaimed

Boomstick: Really? I always thought the flower was just really spicy.

Wiz: He can create and manipulate fire to produce a variety of devastating attacks.
FROG SUIT

Boomstick: He's also got this Frog Suit thingy. While wearing it, Mario can jump even higher, swim even faster, and breathe underwater. The only problem is no one's really gonna take him seriously wearing that thing. Ha ha! Ah, look at him!
Most couldn't help but agree with Boomstick's comment on Mario's Frog Suit, as some students wouldn't waste their efforts wearing that especially Aoi.
"Yeah, I wouldn't suggest wearing that while fighting." Mahiru noted
"I'm gonna have to pass on the Frog Suit." Aoi rejected

Boomstick: The Metal Cap turns Mario's entire body into indestructible living steel. But while Metal Mario's extremely heavy, his strength and speed are boosted, giving him ten times more power and just as much agility as before.
"Now that's a kickass power-up, and I SO need that!" Akane commented,
"How does a cap grant you the power to become metal?" Kazuichi wondered
"It's magic, obviously. What else would be it?" Himiko replied
STAR MAN

Wiz: The Starman envelops Mario into a blinding aura of compressed energy, granting increased speed and complete invulnerability for a short time. Touching a normal enemy in this state will instantly kill the foe.
"Typical, that power-up really comes in handy when Mario is back into a corner." Mondo noted
"It is his ultimate power-up, but it only lasts for a short time." Chiaki concurred
"And he needs to use it at the right time." Kokichi added, and Chiaki nodded her head
"I swear to GOD, just watching the colors changing to all of them that fast is making me feel like to vomit." Fuyuhiko said
HAMMER

-Smaller Hammers can be Thrown
Wiz: And while it's not technically a power-up, Mario has a Hammer that can crush almost ANYTHING.
"That's pretty convenient." Sayaka commented
"Agreed, he's more depended on his power-ups, so for a better chance to win, he decided to bring in a weapon, of that which is a hammer no less." Maki conceded, as Chiaki nodded at her statement
MEGA MUSHROOM
-Mario Grows Giant
-Invulnerable
-Can Smash Through Almost Any Obstacle
-Lasts for a Short Time
Boomstick: It seems like Mario's always popping 'shrooms to get more power. And with the Mega Mushroom, he gets GINORMOUS, mowin' down people, plants, environment, hell, everything!
Most of the audiences' eyes were widened when Mario grabs the Mega Mushroom and grows into a giant plumber and crushing down everything in his way.
"You know what, forget the Fire Flower and Metal Cap, the Mega Mushroom is a helluva strong!" Akane exclaimed
"Of course, if it uses it, you better turn tail and run cuz he's ain't here to fuck around." Monosuke warned
"So, the Mega Mushroom also serves as the last resort power-up." Peko stated, as Chiaki nodded at her statement
Wiz: Mario has battled a larger variety of enemies than any other video game hero. Whether a foe is large or small, scary or goofy, dumb or deadly, nothing has ever proved too much for him.
The audiences couldn't help but be impressed by Mario, since he's fought a lot of variety of enemies no matter their appearances, their size, and the situation.
Boomstick: Except for keepin' track of his woman. She's always gettin' kidnapped and he's always showing up at the wrong castle. Somebody needs to throw a GPS tracking bracelet on that bitch!
"How savage of you Boomstick." Mahiru said
"That woman that Mario is rescuing countless times, she's a princess like me." Sonia noted
"Hmm... I can assume if that princess could possibly be a combatant." Kyosuke anticipated
Wiz: He is fairly impulsive and not much of a strategist, preferring to quickly fight his way through problems before thinking things through.
"Therefore, he's jumps into action without thinking of a plan." Keebo noted
Boomstick: But that doesn't matter, Italy's greatest hero can power through anything!
"Exactly right Boomstick." Chiaki agreed
Mario: It's-a me, Mario!
To most of the audiences, Mario is one of the top video game heroes they have ever seen in the show. He's an amazing powerhouse and all of his power-ups were very unique and useful in every situations. Akane loves the Metal Cap and the Mega Mushroom, Masaru and Himiko favors the Feather Cape.
The next combatant is another anthropomorphic hedgehog like Shadow expect that he's blue, has green eyes with a tan underbelly, and he can run really faster than the speed of sound with a thrill seeking personality.

Wiz: Sonic the Hedgehog is the fastest thing alive, and a freedom fighter battling to save the world from the tyrannical Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik.
"Fastest thing alive huh? Can't say that I'm impressed." Masaru disagreed, betting he's the fasting P.E kid.
Boomstick: He's not so bad for a tree-hugging hippie.

"Well normally, hedgehogs aren't that fast though and they are also nocturnal, which they can only come out at night and they're not blue either." Hajime noted

Wiz: He can further increase his speed with his trademark figure 8 technique.
"Kehehehe... fascinating." Korekiyo cackled, intrigued to see how Sonic puts his figure 8 in good use.

"He probably has a tough stomach to take it and he's pretty cool about it too." Akane assumed

Wiz: During his adventures, he has used a variety of different shields to improve his abilities. Each shield can deflect minor projectiles and have environmental advantages, though they will disintegrate after blocking a deadly blow.
"Let us see how unique his shields are." Byakuya observed

"You'll see." Chiaki responded

Boomstick: And with the Bubble Shield, he can breathe underwater and control his jumps with a powerful bounce. Why do we keep mentioning water, you may ask? 'Cause he can't freakin' swim!
"Oh, that's suck. I was hoping he be a professional swimmer, but guess not." Aoi said in a disappointment
"And without his bubble shield, he will eventually drowned." Shuichi noted
Wiz: Sonic's ultimate power-up, however, isn't a shield at all. After absorbing thousands of Power Rings during his adventures, Sonic has become an embodiment of chaos.
"Ohhh, that means he can use the same Chaos powers like Shadow does." Monotaro claimed
"Incorrect, but there is one that he and Shadow both shares." Chiaki informed
The crowd watched as Sonic is performing the same action as Shadow when he gathers all the seven Chaos Emeralds and enters his golden form as his hair quills standing up and his eyes turning red.

"I see, so Sonic can become Super too just like Shadow." Monosuke mused, and everyone else nodded
"That's cool, but I like Shadow better." Monokuma responded
Boomstick: Super Sonic can fly, breathe underwater, and is completely invulnerable.
Wiz: Not to mention his speed is increased a thousand fold.
"Which means, he be wayyyyy too fast on his feet for Mario to keep up and to outpace him." Ibuki stated
"Affirmative." Keebo agreed
"Don't jump to conclusions now, we cannot guaranteed that speed alone would be enough to give Sonic the win." The Imposter concurred
"That's true, it's possible that some of Mario's power-ups can help him match his speed." Kokichi considered
Boomstick: But as with most things that are unbelievably powerful, it has a time limit. Without a steady supply of power rings, it can't even last a full minute.
"His super form is draining his rings, so of course, he and Shadow shares the same drawback." Keebo concurred
Wiz: And when the form finally subsides, Sonic returns to normal at peak physical form, regardless of his condition prior to the transformation.
"Therefore, he will continue fighting even after his golden form wears him out." Kyoko noted
"That's a slight difference there." Rantaro added
Boomstick: While Sonic's always risking his life saving the world from all kinds of dangerous robots and demigods, he's kind of a dick.
Some were confused and a few were shocked why as Wiz explained Sonic's personality.
Wiz: Sonic is cocky, arrogant and addicted to action. He gets cranky and unstable when he's cooped up for too long.
"Hmmm... being arrogant sounds about right, especially when he's being a showoff." Nekomaru stated
"And his ego easily blinds him as a matter of fact." Byakuya added
Boomstick: And if you ignore him, hah, he'll straight up leave you!
Everyone see a cranky Sonic jumping off the screen after waiting for three minutes of doing absolutely nothing.
"Took off after three minutes, he's completely impatient too." Nagito said
"Yeah, but that defines his character, a thrill seeker to the end." Chiaki noted
Wiz: But despite his rough personality, he'll do whatever it takes to save the day.
Sonic: Ooh, I'd like to hang, but I've gotta juice!
Sonic runs away from the enemy.
Despite his rough personality, Sonic is one cool speedy hedgehog that most can take a liking to him.

The crowd see Sonic the Hedgehog as he is calmly sitting in a field when Mario pops out from the green pipe. As Sonic leaps back, Mario jumps down in front of him.
Sonic: All right, chubby. Let's settle this!
Mario: Let's-a go!
"Game on!" Hifumi & Leon squealed
The time has now come, which of these video games rivals will walk away victorious?
FIGHT!
(Cues: Sonic 3 - Final Boss Remake (Orchestrated/Rock))
Sonic quickly made his first move with fast combos and sends Mario onto the pipe he emerged from. Mario equips the Fire Flower and becomes Fire Mario as he shoots out fireballs and Sonic dodges them all, but gets hit by Mario's fire slide.
"Nice sliding move." Kokichi whistled
"Ha ha, he's setting that bitchhog on fire!" Miu cackled
"Best not to jump to conclusions now." Shuichi warned, as the battle has only just begun
Mario: Wah-ha!
Mario hits Sonic a few times, then grabs him and spins around in a circle while holding him.
Mario: Here we go!
Mario throws Sonic against the pipe. Mario then uses his cape to launch Sonic upward and knocked him into the floor, spin him around in a lariat of fire, and throw him backwards. Mario then releases his Mario Finale, but Sonic is unscathed by his Flame Shield. Sonic used his flame dash attack to hit Mario six times until Mario counters Sonic's dash with his hammer, resulting in the entire screen covered in the black smoke.
"Damn, this is getting good between those guys." Kazuichi said
"Also more intense as far as it goes." Mahiru added
(Cues: Final Bowser Battle - Super Mario Galaxy 2)
A short montage of the fight begins. Sonic throws a punch and Mario dodges it, but Sonic then hits Mario with his Homing Attack in the air. Mario then uses his Super Jump Punch at Sonic, and afterward Sonic is standing impatiently next to Tanooki Mario's statue form.
"What is he doing standing there like a complete dumbass?!" Monosuke wondered
"He's just so desperate into kicking Mario's ass, that's why!" Monokid answered
After the montage, Sonic is running as Cape Mario flies after him. Sonic activates his Thunder Shield and dashes over to a volcano with a sad face on it.
"It does make sense for a volcano to have feelings, cuz you know the eruption up to the point of letting off the steam." Kokichi noted
"Yeah, you do have a point there dude." Kaito replied
Both the hedgehog and the plumber end up inside the volcano, staring at each other on opposite sides. A Bob-omb is caught between them. Alarmed, the Bob-omb informs several other Bob-ombs that their home is being apparently invaded by intruders and started detonating themselves.
"Oh shiiiittt!" Mondo & Leon exclaimed
Mario: Mamma Mia!
The volcano exploded, sending Sonic and Mario flying out of the volcano as Sonic ended up crashing in a nearby lake, sinking to the bottom like a rock as he soon summons his Bubble Shield to help him breath. Before he could do anything else, Mario appeared in his frog suit and ground pounds Sonic, breaking his Bubble Shield and swims away.
"Ah, come on!" Masaru whinged
"He better act quick or else he'll drown." Ryoma stated

As soon the song plays, knowing he couldn't stay down any longer due to lack of swimming, Sonic tries desperately to run out of the water before he drowns, but his efforts are futile. Frog Mario swims up into the surface, until...
Sonic: Now I'll show you!

Super Sonic cames and tackles Frog Mario and emerges out of the lake.
Super Sonic: How's that plumber?
"Super Saiyan Sonic is on the scene!" Yasuhiro exclaimed
"Just Super dude, take the Saiyan crap comment out of it." Leon corrected
Mario: Woohoo!
Mario slaps on his Metal Cap, becoming Metal Mario as he lands to the ground with a heavy thud.
"Haha! This shit is about to go down EVEN FURTHER!" Nekomaru exclaimed
"Hell yeah it is!" Akane also exclaimed
Cues: Super Mario 64: Metal Mario Theme - Koji Kondo)
Super Sonic charges and tries to attack him, but Metal Mario grabs him and throws him aside. Super Sonic tries a few more attacks, but Metal Mario didn't even budge or flinch before he sidekicks Super Sonic away, he now uses the Star Man.
"Alright, with the Star Man and his Metal Cap, Mario can finally kick that hedghog's ass." Yasuhiro said in awe
"A delightful combination for using his power-ups wisely." Celestia noted
(Cues: Starman Theme - Super Mario Galaxy - Mahito Yokota)
Using the combined powers of the Metal Cap and the Power Star, Mario rushes forward and attacks the gold hedgehog with a whirlwind of fists and energy, sending Sonic flying as the power suddenly wear off already.
"Damn, he's actually took that, despite that he's invulnerable." Kazuichi said
"The Starman makes Mario invulnerable as well, so it was a perfect counter against Sonic's super form." Chiaki assured
Sonic: So you're tougher than I thought, huh? Now it's time for me to finish... this...
Mario now pulls out a Mega Mushroom and grow gigantic.
Sonic: Whoa...
"Damn right whoa... you're pretty much fuck now!" Monosuke said
"Yeah, big time. That's enough time to outlast Super Sonic." Monotaro pointed out

Super Sonic continuously attacks Mega Mario, but his attacks are futile as Mega Mario punches Super Sonic away like a fly and the power of the Chaos Emeralds wears off, causing Super Sonic to return to peak physical bluish form.
Sonic: Uh-oh.
"All he can rely on now is his speed since he used up everything." Haiji said
Sonic falls to the floor. His only option is to run as Mega Mario gives chase after he uses the Figure 8 technique to outrun the giant plumber.
Sonic: You're too slow!
Sonic zooms forward and Mario returns to normal size, albeit a bit dizzy.
Mario: D'oh!
"He's suffering from his condition, he's left wide-opened." Mikan noted
"Damn it, looks like it's now over." Akane said
After Mario was worn out, Sonic then runs back to the red capped plumber.
Sonic: Now's my chance!
Sonic knocks Mario back and forth with his Spin Attack, while mid-air, Sonic then Axe Kicks Mario to the ground and proceeds to Spin Dashes the back of the downed plumber. The blue speedy hedgehog then jumps off of the bloodied red capped plumber.
"Goddamn, that was brutal!" Juzo shouted, as most were a little stunned by Sonic's brutal killing blow.
K.O!
RESULTS
Those who voted for Sonic clapped while the rest who voted for Mario clapped in respect.

Boomstick: Now that's what I call a DEATH BATTLE!
"Yeah! The complete bloodshed of the most extreme." Monokuma said
"It was entertaining to see the two video game rivals clash together." Chiaki commented
Wiz: Their power-ups seemed evenly matched, countering blow for blow.
"Facts." Keebo pointed out
Boomstick: Mario was even capable of countering the unstoppable Super Sonic!
"Thanks to his Starman and Mega Mushroom power-up." Ryota added
Wiz: But with their arsenals exhausted, Mario was no match for Sonic's natural speed. Even if they had used their lesser known power-ups like the Ice Flower or Super Emeralds, there's no reason to say the result would be any different.
"Wait, there were more power-ups that they didn't cover?" Sonia asked as she was surprised as well as some other audiences
"Guess we're not going to see them use their other power-ups in action then." Nagito replied in disappointment
Boomstick: Looks like Mario just couldn't keep up.
Most chuckled at that pun a little.
Wiz: The winner is Sonic the Hedgehog.
The episode was fun to watch and now comes the next episode of a little sneak peek.
Boomstick: Next time on Death Battle!
They see a dark haired boy with large glasses and a lightning shaped scar on his forehead and wore robes and a wand and his opponent is a blonde haired boy wearing a black outfit and a robotic hand and wields a sword made of light energy.
Himiko's eyes were widened as Kazuo played the next episode.
