Wyndon Briefing Room

Leon

It's only been two days since the finals of the Galar Champion's Tournament ended, but the turmoil of the new champion, Lily, is only just beginning.

Meanwhile, as the only adult on stage, Leon has been stressed as Hell.

Lily has actually been a little stressed too because she's worrying a lot of people. But there have been changes in her behavior that Leon couldn't diagnose just yet because of the current situation.

That current situation being, almost directly after Lily told her everything that happened between her and Fuse, they were thrown directly into a press conference trying to explain all of that.

That being said, what Lily told him was actually batshit insane. The only reason he himself believed it was because he's spoken to Lily a few times before and knew she was too nice and naive to tell a lie.

Seriously, how was he going to break the news that Fuse was from an entirely different world? Not only that, but having a specific beef with a 9 year old, trying to genuinely kill her?

If he wasn't Leon, he doubts most of the world would believe what he would say.

Either way, sitting on stage in front of whatever the world could get into Galar on such a short notice, Leon steeled himself for the press conference ahead.

On the inside, he really wishes that Lily were a bit older so she could do most of the talking here. Instead, they have a 9 year old champion who was very strong, but not socially gifted.

Holding in his sigh, Leon begins to speak, the reporters quickly silencing themselves to listen.

"As you all know, 2 days ago, almost the moment after Lily became the champion of Galar, the criminal known as Fuse appeared to challenge her in a duel, ultimately beating her. I would like to be clear, as of now, Lily is still the champion. Her loss to Fuse is irrelevant to the title."

It was a decision that was made by the narrowest of votes yesterday, but Leon managed to get it through. Though, that tidbit likely would be known by someone leaking it tomorrow.

This was really an unstable time for Galar considering Rose got arrested literally a week ago too. Now with what Leon was about to say… Well, he's just glad he isn't the champion anymore.

Clearing his throat, Leon pauses for a moment to be able to say, "As for Fuse himself, we believe that he won't be a problem from now on. According to information from our sources, Fuse was…" He paused, wondering if it was really right to tell the public this. Maybe it would be best to just let the public know a digestible lie.

But the public deserved to know the truth behind Fuse. After all, he might as well be the worst villain in Galarian history right now. They deserve to sleep in peace knowing he was gone.

"...From another world," Leon finished.

The press goes wild with shock, doubt, surprise, and every emotion under the sun. Everyone begins shouting questions without any care for etiquette.

So, exactly what Leon expected.

One voice was louder than the others, as someone from the front row loudly asked, "Lily! As the target of Fuse, does this mean you're from another world as well?!"

Leon starts to answer for her, but Lily was faster.

"Uh, I'm not from another world," Lily speaks for the first time in the conference, quickly causing the audience to quiet down to listen to her words, "I'm from the Crown Tundra. I just had an item that Fuse really needed. He attacked me first, but I beat him, so I told him he needed to beat me to earn it. I thought it would help teach him some kindness."

"Did it really work, though?" That same reporter asked, "Fuse has committed his fair share of crimes during his time in Galar."

Lily simply shrugs, "Well, it's an improvement?"

The man was mildly insulted by that shrug, but sits down nonetheless.

As the press conference goes on, Lily's comments become less and less kind from her previous self.

Now that kindness isn't enforced, she's free to be a 9 year old. Equally nice and devastatingly rude.

Palace of Alcazarzaray

Fuse

I hit my head on a wall and realized the perfect name for my concept-erasing knife. Detroit!

[Detroit (Concept Devouring Blade) - A small blade that is capable of erasing concepts that it hits. What concepts it erases and how far it reaches can be modified by the user. Erased concepts will cease to exist only in your multiverse, but can be remembered by you. You can choose to return erased concepts, but people will recognize that there was an erased concept that came back. There are targets able to resist concept erasure. This weapon is named after the city of Detroit, Michigan]

Can't have shit in Detroit, right? It's basically perfect.

Anyhow, not long after that, the gang came back from Galar.

Dori didn't have enough mana to keep the portal long enough so I had to pitch in to get them all back safely. Still, she was definitely getting better.

As the group disperses, all of my friends end up back in Dori's living room.

Nahida tells me, "It was a very exciting fight, Fuse! Though, although I don't have any of my own Pokemon, it feels like you could've executed a few things better in that fight."

What? Is my own friend backseating me now?

Dori agrees with Nahida, "Yeah. You had double the Pokemon. How was it still that close?"

I'm mildly ticked off as I blandly retorted, "I got there barely 2 months ago, man. That was a genuine Pokemon master I was going up against."

As if he didn't believe in my suffering, Romeo scoffed and said, "I could've done better."

"I would like to see you try."

Angeles hummed, "I think it was a good battle."

Truly, my only ally in this world.

Anyhow, that aside, now I have to figure out what to do with my 12 Pokemon. I invested a whole class slot into them, so obviously I'm going to keep using them.

That being said, I'm not feeding 12 Pokemon. I had to steal a lot of food to make that work. Because apparently, they still hunger while inside my inventory in their Pokeball.

So, I mentioned, "Thank you, Angeles. Anyhow, I'm probably not keeping all of my Pokemon since it's a hassle to feed them all. Would it hurt to keep a couple of them around here? I might need them later."

Tapping her chin, Dori thought about it for a moment before saying, "Sure, I think we could make that work. They won't destroy the environment or anything… Right?"

Ah, Dori. My only ally in this world.

I'm keeping California, New York, and Texas. The big three of Regieleki, Marshadow, and Salamence.

Sure, it's two legendaries and a pseudo, but they were basically the best of my Pokemon anyway. I can always get the others for a tougher battle, especially when they can just revive if they're killed.

With that, I pulled out all of the Pokeballs I wouldn't be keeping, putting them on the table for them to grab later.

At that moment, Luciel and Garbanag enter the room.

Oh yeah, they're here too. Wonder what they want.

Garbanag speaks first, "Firstly, congratulations on winning, even if it was very scuffed."

Yep, he's British. Hate this guy. Why did I decide to revive him anyways?

Luciel clears her throat, "Ahem, anyhow, we were looking to ask if we could be… Allowed to complete our requirements to use our world traveling abilities."

Oh? That's interesting.

I'm more partial to letting Luciel go. She's Canadian, which is basically half-American, so she's automatically a lot more trustworthy than the Brit. Plus, Garbanag would have him defeat the Moon Lord, I think. I'm not going to let the guy power up to do that. Luciel, meanwhile…

I have no idea what Luciel needs to do, but it's probably not that big of a deal.

Besides, Dori will probably be grateful for the extra portal user.

So, I laid down my judgment, "Luciel, you can go complete whatever it is you need. Garbanag, you can't."

Luciel was silently pleased, while Garbanag angrily complained, "What the Hell!? Why not?!"

"You're British."

Garbanag glares at him

"I don't want to let you power up to the point of defeating Moon Lord."

Garbanag tries to argue his point, "You realize you'll probably get to a point where you could beat me anyway?! If I wanted to hurt anyone here, I could already do that! My only opponent is you, who I can't reach with just Terraria!"

…The Brit kinda has a point. I'd just curbstomp him and revive anyone he killed after I curbstomp him.

So, I shrugged, "Follow Luciel for now. You can go after."

Garbanag accepts this decision, although he's still not very happy.

With that issue solved, I think I'm recharged enough.

The next person I need to get a domino out of is Colette, who is busy somewhere named Youjo Senki. I'm hoping to avoid a fight, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Colette is a French name, right? The French are well known American allies, so hopefully I can make a deal with her.

Standing up, I declare to everyone in the room, "Alright, I think I'm heading out to the next world."

A wave of shock goes through the room, considering it's been literally not even a full hour since I gained the last domino fragment.

"Seriously? Already?" Romeo confusedly asked.

Nahida nodded her head in support, "Don't you want to have a party for winning, though?"

"Nah," I replied. I think I need to have something a bit faster paced after spending a month with Pokemon, so I'm pretty set on this, "I'll come back either when I meet the next gamer, or get the next domino fragment. Depending on what happens."

Dori seems to understand as she simply said, "Alright. Check for anything I could make a profit off of, alright?"

"I'll be sure to keep it in mind," I said, flexing my arms as I go through my menus.

Opening the portal to Colette's universe, I turned around to say my farewells.

"See you later, guys."

The next thing I knew, I was falling into another world.

AN:

Yes, the 1st scene happens after the 2nd scene timeline-wise. Why not just reverse the order? Cuz lmao, that's why.

My finger got bitten, so it slowed down my writing speed for like, 2 weeks. My finger is still numb, but it's healed a bit and I got enough motivation to write this.

Anyways, my finger should be finally fully healed by next week. Sure has been a trip.

Next chapter is gonna be out on November 9th and then November 11th. That's after the election, so my author's note is sure to be exciting.

Hopefully, my finger will fully heal by then.

I said my outlines were gonna be out, but then, of course, my index finger went out of commission so that didn't happen on time. I'll get on that so hopefully it'll be out by the end of October.

Then… I gotta haul ass next week cuz I have a lot of things I wanted to write in October, but couldn't because of the injury.

Anyways, see y'all in two weeks. Congratulations on us for passing the Pokemon arc!

[This chapter is only like 1.8k words long but my index finger literally got bit into numbness, I think I deserve 200 words of leniency.]
