Shouta had to have seriously pissed off someone in a past life to be this level of cursed, it's the only way for him to explain how in the hell his problem child from Yaizu was now his co-worker.
The young vigilante that he was certain had a compulsion quirk and he tried to catch every Tuesday turned out to actually be the big info-broker they had been looking for, which was fair enough, the broker having a quirk like that would make sense and definitely explained why everyone listened to him telling them to knock it off.
But no that couldn't be it, no his problem child just had to be troublesome.
Cause as it turned out Deku-Sensei's real identity was unintentionally leaked by the media roughly two weeks ago and it was discovered that the kid was quirkless and wasn't breaking any laws according to Tsukauchi, Shouta had to silence the hero group chats he was in over the rage fits and spamming over the discovery.
And Nezu, in his infinite wisdom decided to hire his problem child to teach the hero course as Ito-San's replacement.
He probably could have reacted to the news better than by pointing at the kid but considering all the brat had put him through for well over a year he was fairly restrained, he hadn't tackled the problem child or tangled him up in his capture scarf.
Oh and he learned that his problem child was a fan of his for some god forsaken reason, which was... something he had to live with now.
His problem child had at least two brain cells though considering he immediately picked up on some of the problems in the school but was mostly polite aside from a reasonable time or two where he snapped at them.
That did not mean he was looking forward to working with the kid, no if he hadn't expelled his whole class this year he likely wouldn't have the strength to deal with the rest of the year, time spent researching the brat regained or not.
Oh Shouta could feel the headaches brewing in advance.
The problem child while as level headed as a teen could be was still a reckless problem child and no doubt going to corrupt each of the hero classes, most likely unintentionally but a kid with that much chaos energy can't stop themselves from infecting the people around them.
Their interaction this morning hadn't instilled any points to dispute his thoughts, the kid seemed to be absorbed in reading the files Nezu gave him but Shouta let down his guard too much because the problem child had spotted him and because he was in stealth mode he sure as hell didn't expect that.
So he was down one mug and wondering if Midoriya had as much pride as he thought he did because apparently the kid didn't mind being called things like deku and problem child since people called him worse names.
Shouta really didn't appreciate questioning whether or not his favorite term of endearment was actually politically correct or mentally damaging thank you very much.
Midoriya at least lived up to the name of problem child.
When it came time for his free block Shouta considered whether or not to spend a little time spying on Midoriya and how he interacted in the classroom or to take his nap, the nap had won out and rightfully so, which left Shouta to napping in Nezu's office before going to teach those hellions of Kan's.
Shouta would've loved to expel at least one of those trouble makers but Nezu had only given him permission to expel kids in his homeroom freely so he would've needed to go to Kan to get the brats in line, and unsurprisingly Kan was defensive of his class and their history made it harder to convince the man about the kid being a problem since the brat was such a kiss-ass in class.
After fifteen minutes though Shouta couldn't get any more sleep and decided screw it and using the vents crawled his way over to class 2-B and proceeded to watch the lesson, overall it was going much like he expected it to go, Ito-San was taking the lead explaining more in depth about the quirk classes while Midoriya was puttering around the class passing out papers.
A few students asking questions and it seemed that other than Togata they were barely paying Midoriya much attention, Ito-San probably already made sure they were paying attention to her and not gossiping about Midoriya.
The class was more tame than he expected it to be and that made Shouta scowl, especially since Ueno and his friends were sharing smug looks every so often, the boys clearly had something planned but Shouta couldn't tell what.
Shouta could only hope it wasn't that bad whatever it was.
It was only at the end of class that he realized what the boys planned and once again cursed himself for hoping because after twenty years of having it dashed Shouta should've known better than to risk it and jinx himself.
As was normal Togata when he left the boy was out of his seat in record time and was going to be the first out of the class, the vent grate wasn't big enough for him to see the door but the thud of a bucket and water hitting the ground was unmistakable, but the yelp and following cry pain as someone hit the ground that made him scurry out of the vent in record time.
Oh and the sight that greeted him wasn't a pleasant one but easily figured out.
At some point a bucket of water had been placed in an easily tipping point and once Togata opened the door it fell likely to hit him on the head if his quirk hadn't been instinctively triggered, which lead to the boy be naked since his uniform wasn't quirk proof to partially go through the floor and a tiny hop once he became tangible again, and since he was taken completely off guard the boy wasn't ready slipped on the puddle landing outside the class on his butt buck naked.
Shouta felt his eye twitch as he averted his gaze from the boy and instead locked them on the three boys laughing at their successful 'prank'.
Considering he wouldn't let something like this slide on a normal day and that he was already on his last nerve Shouta was sure Kan would be more than understanding of him dragging this lot straight to Nezu's office and getting them expelled on the spot, Ito-San would certainly back him up.
However before he could frog march any of the boys an ominous feeling surrounded the air practically choking him and the entire class was pale, cautiously glancing back at Togata he saw Midoriya had already covered Togata with a blanket he had gotten from who knows where and the source of threatening aura.
Turning back to the class his painfully pointed eyes locked on to the three boys "Ueno, Sasaki, Kido. Principal's office, now." the boy coldly said leaving no room for argument "Miyake I trust you can escort Togata straight to Recovery Girl without any problems, yes?" the boy commented.
And Shouta quickly realized he was so focused on Midoriya he hadn't noticed the seven feet of pissed off lizard glaring at the boys from behind Togata or the other four worried looking friends of their group "Of course Deku-Sensei." Miyake replied carefully scooping up Togata so that the blanket didn't slip and show off anything.
Shaking off the weirdness he turned his gaze to the three trouble makers "You heard Midoriya-San, Principal's office now. Bullet-San can watch over you while Midoriya-San and I sort this matter out." Shouta swiftly added surprising the students who were too focused on Togata and Midoriya to notice his entrance.
"Aizawa-Sensei-" Sasaki tried to protest but he cut the boy off using his quirk.
"No. You three will follow me now." Shouta spat back and the three finally got out of their seats and proceeded to trail after him to Nezu's office, Shouta faintly noticed Midoriya walking beside him and texting on his phone but Shouta was too riled up to really care who he was texting at the moment.
Well he was until he saw a concerned, disappointed and irate Sano-San waiting for them by Nezu's office "Thank you for informing me of what happened Deku-San." Sano tersely said his yellow-orange eyes glaring at the three students behind them.
"Of course, you are their home room teacher Sano-San. Now let's go in yes? Wouldn't want to keep Nezu waiting." Midoriya smoothly replied going forward and opening the door for them.
Indeed, Nezu was awaiting them fur slightly bristling and tail swishing in an annoyed fashion "Ah, right on time boys I believe we have a lot to discuss." Nezu greeted and if Shouta was a bit less petty and way more forgiving he'd feel just a touch bad for the boys having to face a protective Nezu's wrath.
But considering he wanted these brats out since last year Shouta simply didn't and merely sat down in the prepared seats waiting for the show to go on.
And he wasn't disappointed as Nezu systematically pointed out every wrong move the kids had made since day one and why they had been patient with them for far longer than they should've, and Nezu was just about to pull out the expulsion paperwork when Ueno just had to open his mouth and say something quirkiest.
"Fine but you bet my uncle is going to have a fucking field day when he hears you've hired a weak little husk to teach the hero course, seriously what could something like that teach us?" Ueno huffed crossing his arms.
Shouta took a deep breath, closing his eyes and rubbing the bridge of his nose reminding himself that after this going to have to deal with this little quirkist piece of bull after today before he snapped at the kid.
Shouta jumped however when a solid thunk and saw Midoriya standing in front of Nezu's desk and a fucking combat knife sunk almost hilt deep in Nezu's desk calmly smiling at Ueno with a less intense but still overwhelmingly negative energy around him.
*Where the fuck did he get that? * Shouta thought, somewhat impressed that Midoriya got the knife that deep in the desk.
"Well, as a person college educated five times over and a vast well of knowledge in heroics from years of personal experience on the ground, I believe I would be considered at least qualified to talk about the subject, that is why Nezu-San hired me personally yes?" Midoriya commented pulling the blade out with a twirl before letting it slip back into his sleeve, the weapon completely disappearing from sight without any hint it was there.
Nezu grinned ferally "Indeed, Midoriya is a highly valuable member of our staff and would've been made a full teacher if he hadn't insisted that he start as an assistant first Ueno-Kun." Nezu confirmed almost churring as he said it.
"You can't be serious, no one would let a husk be a heroics teacher!" Ueno spat back.
Nezu's claws tapped the desk quite a bit louder "And that quirkiest attitude isn't helping your case Ueno-Kun, I'm certain you're aware of our views on quirk discrimination." Nezu told the boy "Now I believe we've gone over everything that needs to be said, as I told you earlier you three will be sent home early and I shall be calling your parents about your possibility of being expelled, we will finalize this tomorrow." Nezu said shutting the conversation down and effectively dismissing them.
Sano wasted no time collecting the three brats and escorting them from the office so he could go back to his class Shouta probably should as well so he could go relieve Ito-San but Shouta couldn't help staring at the gash in Nezu's desk from the combat knife Midoriya apparently carried on his person.
"Apologies for the damage Nezu-San." Midoriya said clearly flustered now that students were no longer around.
Nezu chuffed and waved his paw dismissively "It's not a problem Midoirya-Kun, although I'm surprised you have the strength to do something like that." Nezu assured the boy and Midoirya chuckled.
"Well you don't move over 907 kilos of product everyday for years and not gain some muscle from it." Midoriya joked before walking out of the office.
Shouta stared at the door and quickly decided he didn't have the energy to unpack that and just went back to the 2-B classroom so that he could just be done with the day and could go home.
Shouta: *just existing*
Author takes deep inhale: And I took that personally.

Midoriya: *relived he can finally have a gun*
Raijin: Congrats on your license I got you something *hands over knife*
Midoriya: *visable confusion* Why...
Raijin: Family tradition
Midoriya in the middle of a mental melt down:... Thanks.
Raijin: No problem
