"Say Eda since Mermaids are a regular thing here is there a chance you tell me a bit more about them?" Luz asked.

Eda held up her hand and said, "Sorry kid but Mermaids aren't really my bottle of apple blood. But you might have some more luck at school or at the library."

"Okay." Luz said, getting ready to leave. "Also, could we maybe not tell anyone else about this. I do trust my friends to stay by my side, but something tells me that if they knew about the tail they might be put into danger."

Eda softly hugged Luz then said, "Don't worry too much about it, kids having a few secrets never hurt anybody. I should know my parents don't know half the stuff I've gotten into when I was younger."

"Thanks Eda." Kuz said, hugging her meteor. Luz then ran out of the house towards the library hoping she could still get in.

Eda walked into her kitchen then made her way to her crystal ball she had left on the table and made a call she knew she needed to.

"Eda this is a surprise, what can I do for you?" Lilith asked, appearing on the crystal ball. "You haven't finally decided to join the covens have you."

"Not quite Lily, I'm calling about something I saw a while ago and thought you should know just to be on the safe side." Eda quickly explained shutting her sister's idea down.

"And what would that be?" Lilith asked, sounding a bit bitter.

"Well, I saw, and go big sis on me but I think I saw a mermaid swimming in the boiling sea near the beach." Eda said.

"A what," Lilith shouted. "Are you sure?"

"I wasn't close enough to tell but it looked like one." Eda lied. "Just thought you might want to know just to be on the safe side. I don't like the Belos's coven system but the mermaid law he made is something even I can get behind."

"Even if you aren't sure, you telling me was a wise call, it seems that we've been getting reports about a few ships out on the water that are supposed to be part of a fishing coven only to find out they're looking for any mermaid they can trick."

"Alright then, I'll let you know if I see them again." Eda said.

"And I'll alert the guards," Lilith said. "This might also get you a bit more time with the Emperor, he cares more about keep the peace with the mermaids then capturing wild witches."

"Later Lily." Eda said, hanging up.

"You aren't going to tell her the rest." King said, climbing up Eda's leg into her hair.

"No way, I love Lily really I do but I know for a fact that there are guards in the Emperor's Coven that don't like me at all, and they would rather see me turned to stone than join a coven." Eda explained walking over to the kitsch table. "Telling them I've got a half mermaid here will only give them a way to get to me."

"Good point." King said. "But there's something that's bothering me about this whole situation."

"Oh, and what's that?" Eda questioned.

"Luz is only half mermaid then doesn't that mean one of her parents had to be a full blood mermaid." King suggested.

"I guess so but if that's the case." Eda said walking over to a window. "Then that brings about a whole lot more questions.
