"Okay there's no one around so I should be in the clear for a while." Luz said, closing her book on mermaids and placed it on a nearby rock. "Let's do this." Luz took a deep breath then ran off the edge of the Isles into the boiling sea. Luz opened her eyes to see that she was now in her mermaid form. "Okay let's see what I can do." Luz began to swim in the water as fast as she could, as she did she noticed she could see through the dark water as if it were as clear as day. "Cool." Just then she heard the sound of something hitting the ocean floor and slowed down to see what was going on. See noticed something above the water and quickly went to take a peck but was stopped by a hand grabbing her. When Luz turned around and saw another mermaid but she had a purple tail and pointy ears.
"Follow me." the mermaid said then pulled Luz to follow her.
As Luz followed the mermaid she saw that they came to a wall then the mermaid moved a rock and drew a symbol on the bottom then placed the rock back the next moment a hole opened up and the mermaid tried to pull Luz with her through the opening but Luz got her hand free, and said, "I'm sorry but I can't go with you, I'll be fine out here but thank you." Luz then swam away at top speed. I mermaid watched at Luz swam away thinking that Luz looked familiar to her, but before the girl could ponder the thought too long another mermaid came out of the hole and forced the girl through before they were discovered by the ship that was searching the waters. Luz swam until she got to the cliff closest to where she jumped from. When the cost was clear and Luz saw that no one was around, she carved a glyph in the stone making a vine that took her to the top.
"Well that was an interesting day." Luz said regain her legs. "But who was that other mermaid?" Luz found where she left her books and walked back to the owl house.
On the open sea
"Have you found it yet?" the Captain asked loudly.
"No captain we haven't and it looks like the nest are unaffected." a crew man answered.
"Then reel them in and be prepared to move to another location." a man with a red beard that went to his chest and one dark green eye while the other was white shouted.
"Understood Captain." the Crewmen said back.
"Captain, we got incoming on the starboard side." A crew men said from up top the mast. "There flying the Emperors Coven flag."
"What!" the captain shouted running to the right of thew ship. The captain then took out a spyglass to see better and saw a ship in firing range. "All hands on deck, get the move on we got to get out of range."
"It's too late captain!" A crewman said running to a lifeboat. "In coming."
The next thing anyone knew a fire ball hit the mast and the ship began to burn. The captain then took another quick look and saw that the one giving orders was Kikimora.
"Damn it." The Captain shouted. "Abandon the ship and anyone captured is on he's own." The crew began to climb into the lifeboats while the Captain used his staff to fly away. As he flew away he saw two of the lifeboats get surrounded by sharp fish. "Dawn you Kikimora I swear someday I'm going to kill you and all your pets."
The scouts soon started pulling the crewmen that Kikimora's tames stopped from getting away onto the ship and tied them up. Kikimora walked over to one of them and asked, "Where is your Captain?"
"Like'd I tell you," the crewmen said back. "I'd rather be thrown into the boiling sea then answer to some coven dog."
"Fine then." Kiki said, taking hold of the man's shirt. "In joy your swim." Kikimora throws the man overboard to feel the boiling sea firsthand. As the screams of the man died down, Kiki continued, "Now that I've proven that your pirate lives mean nothing to me, let's try it again. I have three questions for you ingrates, and depending on the answer I get, you will be in a world of pain. Understood." The other crewmen quickly nodded their heads not wanting to make her madder or find out what else she was willing to do to get her answers. "Good. I have three questions and I don't care which one of you gives me the answer, but I had better be the truth or else."
"Um Kikimora." Hunter said getting a cold chill down he's spine.
"What is it, scout?" Kikimora questioned almost ready to kill the scout as well.
"Just thought I would remind you that we are on a clock." Hunter reminded.
"Oh, right Belos said he wanted an update by the end of the day." Kikimora said, looking at the time. "Okay, who is your Captain and what can you tell me about him? Where did you get your information about the mermaid? And Finally, how many of you are there?" When no one was talking the scouts got out of the way as Kikimora took another one of the crewmen by the shirt.
"Our Captains name is Miles Bloodlust, but he usually goes by the name Captain Bloodlust." the crewmen quickly answered, hoping Kikimora would let him go.
Kikimora released the crewmen and looked towards the rest of the pirate crew seeing they were nodding their heads showing he was telling the truth. Kiki sighed then thought to herself, "Things just got a lot more complicated."
