Mido sighed as he took his first sip of tea.

After Ori texted them about Riya going to U.A. it had taken him all but pinning his other to keep him from using up their notebook supply, and the threat of stabbing him before he could backdate his info to get the other to go to bed.

Mido loved his other half, really he did, but frankly there were times that he wanted to tie Riya up and leave him in the bathroom for a couple hours of peace and quiet.

Shaking his head Mido grabbed the laptop and refreshed his search and watched as another twenty articles appeared on the search page.

'Quirkless: Dying minority or people pushed to extinction?'

'U.A. liberal rules leading to falling standards?'

'Are the quirkless technically disabled?'

Mido shook his head taking a sip of his tea.

He had expected there to be a bunch of news stories after Ori was revealed as a teacher and had a year wide student protest in his honor.

Everyone was talking about Two-toes.

And it was a complete media shitstorm in most countries.

Having the world's best and brightest hero students going on strike for a two-toes would have everyone talking.

With the two-toes majority countries being the most positive of the coverage, talking about the fact Ori worked at U.A. and having the students being so active in fighting against quirkism was such a great thing to see in quirked majority countries.

But there was a ton of backlash here in Japan.

Negative article after article seemed to be churned out.

Questions about Ori's competency, about how insane it was for Ori to be working at U.A. in the first place, the disrespect that the students showed by not even honestly competing in the festival with their quirks.

Though at the moment, all media was good media at the moment.

The more eyes on Ori the better.

Let All For One try and go after them while the whole world was watching them and talking about their every move.

So, he wouldn't go on to run damage control, instead he double checked two-two sites and saw the increase of heels and felt good seeing that each of the hero students were added, waiting for their hero names to be added to their profiles.

The muttering of Riya drew his attention, glancing back to their temporary sleeping area he watched as Riya twisted and turned in his cot, slowly waking up before sitting up and yawning.

"Rise and shine sunshine, you got over your analysis high?" Mido asked as he grabbed a cup of coffee, offering to Riya.

His other took the mug after he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes.

His other giving him a displeased hum in reply, likely because his body often ached much more than his own.

Which was only to be expected, Riya did much more quirk counseling than he did by the nature of their alignments.

Not that he was complaining, as nightmarish as it would be for Riya or Ori, he had found his way in the business world, using their share of multiple languages to communicate with various business partners he's made for them, not that he showed his hand there.

He'd learn it was much better not to reveal his understanding of certain languages since their overseas partners thought they could take advantage of them and talked crap right to his face more often than not.

Then there were the people he had to meet with to keep up their properties, two-toes owned places needed to be checked by an inspector four times a year, double that if it was in a red-light district so that was hundreds of meetings and messages to deal with.

Though the South Side was exempt since the inspectors were too spineless to check those and just green lit them since they were paying for everything just fine.

And then there was organizing all of their money, because they made a lot of money.

A good chunk of which was donated to them because of their less savory business partners, the Vespas and Morozov.

At the thought of which Mido rubbed his temples.

As grateful for the funding as he was it was such a pain to deal with come tax season, even with them helping to make the money look more legitimate, even though it completely was from the beginning.

But anyone earning eight figures regularly caught flags, it just didn't help that they were two-toes and under more scrutiny by the government.

Because what could a two-toes possibly do to earn that much money?

Mido was just glad that Ori had the foresight to move their accounts to the bank that Morozov ran, otherwise he'd be worried about their account being seized for 'suspicious' activity.

Riya more awake moved to the bathroom with a set of clothes to change into afterwards, Mido let him go and moved on from checking the number of news stories and opened their bank account to check their finances.

Ori wouldn't be happy about it, but he simply let Ori's mother handle all of the money now and just checked it a couple times a day.

Mido was always a touch more… clinical than his others.

He was better at stepping back emotionally after all of his dealings and found the best way to work things, and letting Inko take over was just the best way forward.

The fewer things he had to manage the more he could get done, and Inko clearly wanted to be more involved in Ori's life to feel better about the things that they were doing, there would be no harm in it either way.

And as he checked their accounts, seeing that everything was in order and that payments would go exactly where they were supposed to and make it on time, Mido was certain he made the right choice in doing so.

"Are you done checking our accounts?" Riya asked, coming out of the bathroom drying his hair with a towel.

"Yes, I just need to message our publishers then I can hand it off to you." Mido answered opening up their emails.

Heroic Sacrifice unfortunately was having some problems passing some censors, which Mido ruefully understood.

There were a lot of dead kids meeting some very gruesome ends, as one would expect when Endeavour's whole thing was being the Hellfire hero.

Mido scoffed.

Hellfire indeed.

And while there were plenty of other stories they could tell the impact wouldn't be the same, they needed the people to be outraged though and the stories of dead children that were buried because Endeavour was the number two hero would light a fire around the world.

He would make sure of it.

Mido glanced across to the small notebook, Dabi had handed it over and he'd been able to add it to the book even if it caught some flack, some trying to say the whole book was just slander.

He was able to shut people up about that though since he was able to provide news articles and death records that confirmed without a doubt that the stories in Heroic Sacrifice were one hundred percent true.

Bar Dabi's of course but that was just one out of hundred.

Mido's phone rang and he answered it "Deku speaking." he greeted.

"Hello Deku, do you think you can come to our safehouse on Crossing? We've had a secondary quirk awakening and it's gotten a little out of hand." the Vespa on the phone requested.

"I'll be there in a minute." Mido said ending the call and grabbed his go bag while texting Kurogiri.

The portal coming on time and Mido found himself just a bit more thankful that Nomus didn't seem to need real sleep so that they could rush over to emergencies as he was now.

He was in a room of panicking Vespa and of course he looked around for the source, finding a child hiding in a corner under a chair and table with a bloody mouth and wild eyes.

Mido whistled making most of them flinch and hold their ears up, he did get everyone's attention and he pointed at the closest Vespa, one of the shorter ones only a meter tall with her ears upright.

"You, what happened?" He asked.

The woman gulped "We were having the kids playing with each other, when one of them screamed and when we checked on him, he had a chunk bitten out of his ear." she explained.

Not an uncommon occurrence for the Vespas, more than a few of them had bite marks or missing chuck of ear when a kid didn't know better.

"And long story short, he had metal coat quirk and the other ran off crying, we're looking for them now." she continued.

Ah, that would cause some alarm.

"Okay, so it was an accident? Right?" Mido confirmed, a series of nods and 'yes's from the crowd.

"Got it, now get out, you're all scaring the kid." Mido told them, surprising a few but those who were trying to see where the kid was were shooed out by the others.

Clearly people that had worked with him or his others before, since they didn't seem to be questioning his decisions.

Once the room was just him and the kids Mido sat down in the middle of the room and took out his slinkie, and he absent mindedly playing with it, moving the mass from one hand to the other.

They each had a 'distraction' toy to play with, Riya had a Rubik's cube and Ori his puzzle, scared kids felt safer approaching them when their eyes weren't on the kids in question.

The child eventually got up the courage to poke their head out, hesitantly crawling out some more when Mido didn't react.

He noted that the child was a boy and seemed to be very cautious in his slow approach towards Mido.

Mido for his part let the boy take his time to come to him, finding out your quirk wasn't what you thought it was a very big thing to experience, and of course it was harder for mutant quirked people since they were usually born with their quirks.

"Is... is Jo going to be okay?" the boy timidly asked, a slight lisp perhaps from his teeth, rather common with mouth or teeth quirks.

"For the most part yes, I'm sure you've seen plenty of your family with missing ears or with holes in them, he'll be fine." Mido promised, still pretending his focus was on the slinkie.

"You shouldn't worry too much about it, you probably helped Jo learn a very important lesson about not taking things for granted. There's a good chance that Jo would end up thinking that he was untouchable because of his quirk, your bite probably will save his life down the line." Mido informed the kid.

The boy's ears rise from where they were pressed to his head.

"Do you want to play with it?" Mido offered, holding the slinkie to the boy, which the kid did take after a second.

Letting the boy play for a bit before asking "Can I look at your mouth?"

The boy's ears flattened again but he complied opening his mouth, his jaw unhinging twice as large as a regular person's would.

Thankfully there were no cuts in the mouth, something that should always be checked for to determine whether the person should be careful of what they bite into.

The teeth themselves were a touch bigger than what should be expected, but the color was more striking, a metallic white glinting in the light.

"Hm, we'll need to test at another time to see how strong they are." Mido commented as he stood up "But first let's get you cleaned up." Mido said holding his hand out to the boy.

One of his ears twitched then he took Mido's hand and the two walked out of the room hand in hand.

Ten Vespas waiting for them outside, a small group in a compound so the kid wasn't quite so scared as they moved to one of the bathrooms.

*The boy is lucky.* Mido thought as he gently wiped the boy's mouth.

Most 'quirk awakenings' would not end up going so smoothly.

A child was missing part of an ear yes, but there were worse ways to discover a new feature of their quirk.

He, Riya and Ori had more than their fair share of people who didn't have it that easy.

At least this kid would have people to support him when all was said and done.

The idea of kids having problems once they discover their quirk/a feature of their quirk is a real thing from the canon.

Case and point: Eri, bless her soul.
