Nezu sat in Izuku's arms, letting the boy carry him back to his office after the conference.
Most of the staff and students had already left for the day so he felt comfortable allowing the boy to carry him like a child, cuddling his face into Izuku's neck.
His social battery having been drained by the reporters and a little cuddle time with Izuku was helping quite a bit, Izuku also seemed to need the cuddles from him.
While rightfully furious with Sir for grooming Togota, Izuku could not stew in his rage, it would not be good for his health.
So, he would do his best to calm and soothe the boy so that he could go about his work in the districts with a clearer head.
Truly regretful Izuku could not deal with Sir directly at the moment, or be allowed to sink his claws into Sir himself for having such gall.
At the least he would be able to block Sir's offers to Togota with a covenant 'glitch' in the system that would force him to carefully read the offers sent to the students next year from the festival.
Though there would not be much he could do to stop Togota from trying to get a work study from Sir, maybe he could convince the boy to branch out and away from Sir to get a more rounded view of heroics.
He could certainly think of a few other heroes Togota would enjoy working with and be more than happy to collaborate with the boy.
Nezu chirped to get Izuku's attention, he hummed back, his green eyes flicking down to him.
"Which hero do you think Togota would learn the most from on a work study?" he asked.
Izuku blinked, humming and then began muttering in Russian.
"Ms. Joke or Edgeshot would be best. Both of them specialize in sneaking into places which Sir undoubtedly forgot to teach to Togota-Kun despite how important it will be for him as a hero that can break into anywhere." Izuku began to explain.
"Ms. Joke might be better for the personally if it wasn't just Sir's urgings to help Togota-Kun improve his comedy, but Edgeshot has more experience in tracking down and breaking underground smuggling rings that Togota-Kun would be perfect for dismantling." Izuku mused, his head moving in the so-and-so motion his hands would have if they were free.
"They also can greatly help Togota-Kun learn some flexibly, since Sir couldn't be bothered with it." Izuku spat, not even being bothered to make a backhanded comment as he glared off to the side.
Nezu churred and chirped in agreement, he would message both of them to see if they would be interested in mentoring Togota, he had recommended students to both heroes before so it would not seem that out of place.
Though if Togota mentioned his time with Sir to Ms. Joke she might call him back with some more pointed questions as a fellow educator and hero who would be more aware of the signs of grooming.
It would be a risk he was willing to take to keep Togota away from Sir.
Finally reaching his office Izuku let him down and Nezu gave himself a little shake, licking his paws to straighten out his fur and groom himself.
Thanking his friend for the ride with a chirp, Izuku scratched behind his ears "No problem Nezu, I'll see you later." Izuku told him with a grin.
Kurogiri's portal opened and Izuku stepped into the swirling black and purple mist, leaving him to take care of his last obligation for U.A. before focusing solely on his hero work.
Nezu chose to wait a few minutes for Himawari Isamu to reach his office, the man shuffling through the halls with his head hanged like always.
Pausing when he realized that Nezu was in the hall and brought his hand up to cover his eyes before continuing over to his office.
"Principal Nezu-San, you wanted to speak with me?" Isamu mentioned.
"Indeed," Nezu confirmed with a clap of his paws "If you will just come into my office Himawari-Kun." he requested, walking into his office with the man following behind him.
Nezu quickly settled into his chair and Isamu settled in the chair across from him.
"As you know, I've been looking for someone to replace Ito-San as the head of the Heroics." Nezu reminded the young man.
"Yes," Isamu answered nodded his head "And since you called me here, would it be presumptuous to assume that you want me to be the next head of the department?" Isamu inquired, tilting his head slightly.
Nezu grinned "Not at all, you are right on the mark Himawari-Kun." Nezu confirmed cheerfully.
Isamu was smarter than most heroes, no doubt one of the reasons Aizawa was attracted to the man.
However, Isamu also was very aware of the common personal issues faced in the current generations, along with his years of managing rescue parties for sudden accidents made him a prime candidate for becoming the next head after Ito-San's retirement.
"Hn, I'm flattered Nezu-San but I am not sure I'd be able to handle that on top of my current duties as teacher, hero and father." Isamu said, expressing some reasonable doubts with a slight frown.
"Ah," Nezu muttered tilting his head "Yes, that could be rather difficult for you." Nezu confessed.
Isamu was human and did not have any factors to his quirk to help him manage like himself or Ito-San, and even then, Ito-San had to retire from active hero-work because she was stressed out.
"If you are still interested in becoming the department head you could consider going part-time with either of your two jobs?" Nezu suggested.
Isamu hummed.
"I could cut down my hours as a teacher to just being the rescue instructor for the third years and a guest speaker for the other years until I get used to the administrative side of being the head of the department." Isamu offered.
"I think that you be just fine doing that Himawari-Kun, other department heads have made such a transition before so there is some precedent for it, though we would need to find another person to fill in for the second and first years as a rescue instructor." Nezu pointed out to him.
"True, but I believe I have someone in mind already." Isamu responded peaking Nezu curiosity.
"Oh, do tell Himawari-Kun?" Nezu asked.
"One of my co-workers was asking if there was going to be any openings in the next term here. She apparently is going to be finishing her teaching degree soon and is looking for a placement in one of the hero schools." Isamu explained to him.
"How fortunate, which of your collages is interested in teaching? I would like to run a background check before making any decisions on hiring them." Nezu requested folding his paws and keeping his tail at a calm sway behind him.
"You've probably heard of her, she's the Space hero: Thirteen." Isamu answered.
Oh, Nezu had, Izuku spoke highly of her work and how thankful he was that one of his friend's childhood heroes was actually a good one.
And Thirteen's work was exceptionally good on the field, which was no surprise since she got herself a degree in field medicine and worked as a rescue hero part-time after leaving high school before moving on to full-time hero work.
She would certainly be a wonderful addition to the staff.
"Ah yes, she's made quite some headway since she debuted, if she passes the background check I shall be more than happy to extend an offer to her to join our staff here." Nezu informed Isamu.
It would be more of a formality, Izuku's word was more than enough considering the things he could find with the Vespa's network, and he had never spoken one ill word of Thirteen.
But he would need to do the leg work for the board to not be so anxious.
Isamu smiled "Well, if my replacement is settled, I would be more than happy to become the department head for heroics, though it would probably be best for me to remain on as 2-A's homeroom teacher until the end of the year, to keep from confusing the students." Isamu suggested.
"Naturally, Thirteen can also shadow you for some of your classes to get used to teaching here, since I doubt, they covered rescue training wherever she got here degree." Nezu agreed, feeling rather pleased with how well this was turning out.
Being able to pick a competent and caring person for the department head and having a replacement for him already lined up and waiting for the transitional period, this meeting was going much better than he had hoped.
"That would be preferable, would you mind telling me if there are any changes to my benefits when I become the head?" Isamu inquired, his head slightly off to the side.
"Oh course, Himawari-Kun, there will be a ten percent increase to your yearly salary for starters," Nezu happily began to detail for him, bring out a contract for Isamu to examine for himself.
Anan sighed after searching through the aisles for a third time before accepting that the shop was out of her favorite flavor of Purrian blue and decided to pick between either peach or extra berry punch cans.
The puffy pink pillow the brand's mascot was sleeping on the peach cans eventually sold her and Anan grabbed a six pack before headed to the dairy aisle to grab the last thing on her list, a half-gallon of milk before heading for the checkout.
Waiting patiently in line until it was turn, her I.D. already out as she was expecting the small alarm for her Purrian blue cans.
"Can I have your I.D. miss?" the cashier asked, and Anan handed it over without any fuss.
The teen inserted her card in the machine, a ding of confirmation and the card was handed back to her "Thank you miss, will you be paying with cash, check, or card?" the teen asked since that was the final item.
"Card." Anan answered swiping her card and eagerly leaving the shop to head on home to her apartment with groceries.
Slumping against her door with a sigh once she was home, kicking off her shoes and slipping her feet into her slippers, walking over to her mini fridge to put away the cold stuff she bought.
Dumping the bags by the fridge and only grabbing one of the Purrian blue cans then collapsed fully on her bed, cracking the can open and drinking it.
She had been called in to clean up five different scenes and helped with two other mini disasters, before she was able to do her shopping, at least she was getting paid for it and had already finished her finals for her degree.
Speaking of...
Anan sat back up and dug through her papers until she found her degree, she'd get it framed later but she couldn't help being proud of finally earning it.
The alarm of her phone reminded her it would be best to eat something and got up to make herself something to eat, something light on her stomach, maybe raman?
Boiling some water and adding the noodles before adding a few toppings, like green onion and a couple of eggs before then removing one of her gloves, dripping the hand in the pot and using her quirk to 'eat' the raman.
Frowning at the 'taste' and adding a pinch of pepper and settling for that being better and then began checking her messages.
Liking some of the posts from Space-Puppers and checking if she'd be on patrol the next couple of days and if there were any changes to her schedule.
Only for her eyes to widen when she saw a message from her hero network account and clicked on it.
Just to nearly fall over when she saw it was from Nezu.
Nezu wasn't known for messaging people outside of work reasons, so she was kind of worried at first until she actually started reading the message.
Her heart leaping into her throat and Anan began to freak out for an entirely different reason.
Anan had completely forgotten that she had been asking around her co-workers for advice looking for placements as a teacher after she submitted her finals.
And now she had an interview with Nezu to begin teaching at the top hero school in the country?
Anan was quick to put her glove back on and grabbed the pillow off of her bed to squeal into it, in order to get herself calm enough to message Nezu back.
She could not mess this up, especially if she wanted to have her dream job at the number one school in the country.
