Season Two- Episode 1: Painful Truth

—-"When were you going to tell me that the Shredder is my father?!"

Splinter trembled after Donatello said it. He himself didn't like to think of it. Donatello, the son that he loves so much just as he loves his other sons, being related to the monster who ruined his life as a human. Splinter truly doesn't mind that. He just worries what would happen if the truth were to come out to the open.

Donatello bit his lower lip as he tried to stop himself from crying. He looked up at his father's face, waiting for an answer.

Time seemed to move on too slowly as nobody said anything.

Splinter simply stared down, keeping quiet.

Donatello sighed as he tried to wipe off his tears.

"Sensei…" Donatello said, looking at Splinter.

Splinter looked back on his son. "Donatello-" He tried to say as Donatello cut him off.

"Sensei- I need some time alone. Alright?" Donatello asked quietly.

"Of course, my son…" Splinter said sadly. Donatello seemed to flinch a little when he referred to him as "his son". Splinter quietly left the lab in sadness.

As the door closed, Donatello fell on his knees as he started crying even harder. He felt exhausted. Donatello wanted to crawl into his shell and disappear.

Their life seemed to always somehow get tougher and crazier. However, this time, it was too much.

Donatello thought over all of the things that he experienced. All of it, while knowing himself as a mutant. Nothing more, nothing less. The fact that he wasn't even meant to be a mutant in the first place was hard enough on him. But now, seriously? His parents and their identity just had to prove that his life was more of a soap opera than he had thought. It's so ridiculous.

No matter how much he cried, he couldn't stop thinking about it. Everything is a mess. Donatello tugged on his mask's tails as he lifted it so that he would be able to see it. The color of the mask that is supposed to represent him. Does it stay the same? Is he still the same as before, or different? And if he is indeed different, is it for the better or for the worse?
