Welcome to the 5th season of the story! Thank you so much for following the story this far! I would like to know what your favorite parts and qualities of the story were out of curiosity :D Anyways, let's begin!

"April?" Kirby called out as he knocked on his daughter's door. "Are you in there?"

"Yeah, dad! One sec!" She called out from the other side of the door. Kirby heard her hurried footsteps towards the door as she opened it.

"What's up?" She asked with a smile, peeking out from the door, as Kirby fidgeted awkwardly.

With a sigh, he replied.

"Splinter called me. He told me that he needed to talk to me, and that you and Casey needed to cheer up his sons. I am not sure as to why…" Kirby said with a hint of worry and a frown.

April looked at him in surprise. "What?" She mumbled. "Did something happen?" She started to get worried. Splinter never asked for such a thing.

"Most likely." Kirby sighed, already feeling worried, himself. "Let's go. Call Casey and tell him to come with us as well."

"Splinter?" Kirby called out as he, April and Casey entered the lair.

They all flinched in shock as they saw all of the turtles and Karai, together with Splinter in the living room, with tear stained faces. They looked at them, not responding, with depressed expressions.

"Woah!" Casey exclaimed in shock.

"What happened, guys?!" April exclaimed.

And then, she noticed something.

She looked around in confusion as she realized someone was missing.

"Where's Donnie?" She asked in worry, her tone slightly hesitant.

As soon the name left her lips, the room turned chaotic.

Leo quivered, Raph bit his lips harshly, Mikey started sobbing, and Splinter and Karai flinched with an expression of regret.

Kirby, April and Casey flinched in surprise as they looked at each other in shock. They then turned around to look at the Hamatos again.

"Did something… Happen… to Donatello?" Kirby asked in worry, already aware of what has been going on with him lately.

No one answered him as they tried to hold themselves together.

"Kirby." Splinter called, them already being on a first name basis adding much to Splinter's comfort. "Please, come with me to the dojo. I need to speak with you."

Kirby nodded, as they both left the living room, leaving Casey and April to deal with the situation.

"He what?" Kirby gasped out with wide eyes, as Splinter looked at the floor in sorrow.

"I apologize for putting this on your shoulders. I simply… Needed my friend to make me feel… Better." Splinter gasped out as he wiped his tears.

Kirby ran to his side as he grabbed his shoulders and helped him sit down on the dojo's mats.

"Splinter…" Kirby couldn't find the words. He hugged him strongly as he could feel his own tears prick at his eyes.

Donatello was his friend's son, and his daughter's friend. Of course he would be precious to him as well, especially for everything Donatello has done for him to help him.

"He is not lost, Splinter. I will help in any way I can. We can find him and help him turn back to normal. If he could do this for me, I could do this for him as well." Kirby whispered in his ear, trying to comfort him.

Splinter smiled a teary smile as he rubbed his eyes. "Thank you, my dear friend."

Casey hugged April from the side as she sobbed, his own tears clouding his vision.

"We can save him, dudes. We did crazy things before, so we can do this as well." He called in determination.

The Hamatos frowned with their own determination, as they nodded in agreement.

They were going to save him.

For sure.

Donatello will no longer suffer.

They'll make sure of it.
