For this chapter, we will focus on one person alone: Otis. Otis, as you may remember from the end of the last chapter, is going to sleep in the doghouse. And so, he goes out back. "Are you sure this is safe?" he asked.

"Yes, it is," said Charlie Brown, "Don't worry."

"Okay," said Otis, "I'll see you in the morning?"

"Alright," said Charlie Brown, "Good night."

"Good night!" said Otis. And with that, he went inside.

A doghouse is a simple thing. We all know what they look like. We feel so confident in this knowledge, that we never feel any need to look within them. However, as Otis found out, they can differ greatly to how we expect them to be. There's probably a metaphor in here, but I am in no way qualified to discern it.

"Wow, it's bigger on the inside," said Otis, unaware that they've pulled that joke in canon. Before he was able to take fully take in all the stuff in there, (a few things he was able to see include: a shopping cart, a chest of some sort, and a bubbling chemistry set) before the entire house started rumbling, as if it was about to take off. Which, of course, it was.

Here's the World War One Flying Ace, readying his Sophwidth Camel. He starts it and it sputters. "That's strange," he thinks, "They said they fixed this. Eh, what are you going to do." Lift-off.

Back in the house, Otis was panicking. It was shaking, moving all around, and then he gets flung around. Hits the wall, and another, before he finally managed to get to his feet. "What the-?" was all he managed to get out, before being flung out the door of the doghouse. I could explain that better, but I have been working at this chapter for months at this point, and I just want to get it done with at this point.

"What?" thought the World War I Flying Ace, as a strange boy flew out of his sopwith camel, "Is he-" Unfortunately, the Flying Ace was unable to complete that thought. However, given what Otis began to do upon being flung out, I think we can presume that he was about to think "flying." Because, due to Otis' upbringing among the ducks, he is able to fly under his own power.

"What?" thought Otis, upon being flung out, "is that dog-" Otis was also unable to finish his thought, but due to what the dog was in fact doing at that time, I think we can presume that he was about to think "flying." Just like the Flying Ace, Otis would also be correct in his assessment of the situation. You see, the Flying Ace is also known by such names as "The World Famous Grocery Clerk," "The World Famous Golf Pro," and, of course, "Snoopy," for he is in fact Charlie Brown's pet beagle. Due to all some reason I am not quite sure of, all of these titles are legitimate, and he can, in fact, make his doghouse fly.

Of course, you are probably wondering: what interrupted both Otis, and Snoopy's thoughts at that moment? Well, it's simple: the Red Baron let loose a volley at that moment. Otis was able to dodge the bullets, as was Snoopy. Snoopy quickly swung around, towards where the bullets had come from, and returned fire. However, it did not go very well for him, and the doghouse was filled with holes. "CURSE YOU RED BARON!" yelled Snoopy, as the house went down. Otis quickly swooped down, and arrived shortly after the Sopwith Camel crashed. "What in Odd's name just happened?" said Otis, ending the chapter.
