December 21st, Evening

Laura and Steve were in the living room, cuddled up with one another watching a Christmas movie on Hallmark. They were just enjoying a little alone time together after they tried to make love in the laundry room but their bodies reminded them they were not in their early twenties anymore. Also once Lawrence come back home wirh Brooklynne the rest of rhe day evening were going to be completely busy. " Laura, I tell you these movies are just recycled stories just different names and town but this one he is a single father about to loose his coffee shop to the big time corporation that woman works for, instead of a Christmas tree farm owner." Steve really was trying to convince his wife that every Hallmark, Lifetime, Netflix, and even BET Christmas movie were pretty much the same.

"Stop ruining it for me... Still they're sweet and romantic." Laura said back and she slightly swatted his arm playfully. But did not hold back a smile as she knew he was right. Steve pulled her closer and gave her a kiss on top of her head. After all these years he still adored and worshiped his wife and loved her even more everyday. In his eyes Laura Lee was still the most beautiful woman he laid eyes on. He made sure every chance he got he Steve knew they were not the perfect couple because they still had their trials and tribulations, but they still never went to bed mad at each other.

"Hey I'm back..." as Lawrence walked through the door, Laura and Steve helped each other off the sofa as Steve turned off the television. "I have someone very important for you both to meet."

As soon as Laura and Steve saw their son's new girlfriend they welcomed her with smiles. They then moved to the sofa and love seat in the living room. "Well Baby Girl, since my son haven't gave my husband and I hardly any detail about you or your relationship, so you can give this Momma a little insight?" Laura asked as she was sitting next to Steve and Brooklynne sat next to Lawrence on the love seat. Laura saw the couple was already comfortable with each other with them holding hands and her son's arm around this girl. But could also see that Brooklynne was a little standoffish.

"Well whatever it is our son sure has that Urkel charm..." Steve said with a big smile making Lawrence chuckle with a nod. "Got that right Pops!"

They Urkel men both made an "Oof" sound as Laura and Brooklynne elbowed them in the side at the same time.

Laura watched as Brooklynne adjusted herself and Steve and her had their son's girlfriend attention. Laura also noticed her son looked at Brooklynne as Steve look at her with love and adoration. Lawrence was truly an Urkle when it came to love.

"Thanks interesting, most colleges it's about parties and getting drunk, never parties where they build scale models of the Star Trek Enterprise..." Laura resonded as Brooklynne and Lawrence told them the story on how they met and they were in the same group.

"That would have been a dream party for me..." Steve chimed in. Laura patted his knee and gave her husband a smile knowing he would have been in heaven.

Lawrence told them after that day he asked her out for coffee every morning and Brooklynne admitted he was persistent and had a certian kind of charm for her to say no.

Before the knew it, Laura and Steve found out that theor son asked Brooklynne out on a proper date for a Halloween party and that is where he asked her to be his girlfriend. They just felt they made a regrettable decision of going to her families Thanksgiving and Brooklynne apologized for keeping Lawrence from hos family. If she knew of they were going to be racist to Lawrence and judgmental towards her, they would have came to Chicago instead. Laura and Steve accepted her apology and told her she is welcomed to their house from now on.

Before they knew it was time for everyone to get ready for dinner with the whole Urkel and Winslow family. They were going to meet everyone at a steak house and then head over Stephanie's dance recital with her cousin Stella. Lawrence showed Brooklynne her room and pulled out a nice outfit hopefully to impress his whole family. She just hoped she won over his parents because she really liked them because it was the first tiem she ever felt welcomed by a family.

Meanwhile...

As Laura was helping Steve adjust his tie she could not help herself. She looked into husband's eyes as he looked back into hers. Laura loved how her husband still looked at her that way even after these many years together, giving birth to the most beautiful children they ever created, and her body going through so many changes. She placed her hands on his cheeks and lightly kissed Steve's lips. "Mmmm!" They both respinded on how sweet the kiss tasted. ""Woman, I'll never get tired of your random kisses." Steve responded as he gave his wife a warm smile as she gave him on back.

"Good." Laura bluntly told him giving him a bigger grin only to make Steve chickle lightly.

"Laura Lee, you know I can't help myself but love you more and more everyday." He couldn't help but throw on the charm. And glad he did because it earned another kiss.

"Keep laying it on thick, we will have one upset twelve year old girl..." Laura admitted as tried to give Steve a serious look as her hands were lightly on his chest and his hands were slightly caressing her bottom.

"Okay, okay, I'll stop for now, but tonight I'm gonna butter you up." Steve fave his wife a wink as she returned the gesture.

Lawrence and Brooklynne were waiting at the bottom of the stairs as he was standing behind her. His arms were wrapped around her waist and head laid on her shoulder. Brooklynne was leaning back into him, just soaking up him holding her. "You look beautiful by the way." Lawrence could not help but complement his girlfriend, Her hair was curled and makeup was light, as she wore a casual maroon knee length dress with a tan leather winter coat with dress boots to match. As for Lawrence he wore green dress up shirt and red tie, with khakis and brown leather shoes. "You look good too Babe." Brooklynne complemented back.

Brooklynne was in awe when she saw Laura come down the stairs with her arm linked in with Steve's. She couldn't help but notice that Lawrence's parents looked very adorable together. Laura was absolutely gorgeous in her green velvet cocktail dress with her silver jewelry as it was complementing how beautiful she really was. Steve looked very handsome with a red dress shirt and green tie. He also wore the same pants and shoes as his son's. "Well aren't we a good looking crew." Laura said complementing everyone and herself. "Now lets get out of here, I'm starving."

When they made it to the restaurant, Laura could tell Brooklynne was nervous as they approached a big family gathering standing outside the steakhouse. Laura told Lawrence to walk with his dad as she went back to Brooklynne. She intertwined her arm with his son's girlfriend and smiled at the young woman. "I know you're nervous, but they are going to welcome you just like Steve and I did. This family just loves and tonight you'll get to experience what real love feels like. I'm sure you love your family..."

Before Laura could say anything, Brooklynne accidentally interrupted her, "Not really..." she said sadly making her look down at her feet.

Laura frowned and made them stop walking. She saw Lawrence noticed and looked concerned but Steve made him keep walking. "Baby girl look at me." Brooklynne looked up at Laura with sadness in her eyes. "What do you mean"asked Laura with an eyebrow raised with concern. Brooklynne took a deep breath with sigh and told Laura, "Well the trithbis it is kinda hard to love a family when they don't even love you back. Thinking bringing a smart, handsome guy home would change something but no. All they do is criticize and embarrass you. Plus they call not only your friends slurs but now my new boyfriend. What's even worse is you're a punching bag to your own stepfather and stepbrother. You keep telling your own mother who won't do anything about it. Which made things even worse with my step father... Lets just say he took my innocence away from me. Finally enough was enough when your somewhat carrying aunt take you in. Things we just a little better. But when I was excepted to CalTech and receiving a full tuition ride wouldn't be here today." Brooklynne did not mean to let everything out with her whole body shaking from anxiety and tears in her eyes. There was just something about Laura she just felt at ease with her presence.

Laura held her hands over her chest as she was in shock on all the news Brooklynne told her. She finally let out a breath as she felt she was holding it in. Laura felt a tear run down her cheek, pulled Brooklynne into her and just hugged her and relaxed once she felt Brooklynne hug her back.

Laura and Brooklyn pulled back from each other and wiped their tears away."Wow Baby Girl, from now on you're stuck with us as your family now and a family that's going to love you forever. If in the future... far far far far future, if Lawrence does not put a ring on that finger, he has his mama to answer too, and it won't be pretty." Brooklynne nodded and Laura gave her one last hug.

"See my boy, nothing to worry about. Your mom is a Winslow, and Winlsow's are the most welcoming people on this earth." Steve said to Lawrence with a pat on the back. Steve did not know the whole story about Brooklynne as Lawrence just gave him a short version with not many details because that was up to Brooklynne to tell Steve. Lawrence nodded and gave his dad a side hug. But was quickly gathered in more hugs as the men reached the rest of extended family. Laura and Brooklynne shortly came up behind and introduced the newest memeber of the family.

Not only did Brooklynne meet Lawrence sister, but cousins, E.J. and Stelle, she met Eddie and Maxine. She met Carl and Harriette and the introduction of 3J and his now adopted son Calab. Then she met Laura's and Eddie's Aunt Rachel and her new husband, Andre. Then Rachel's son Richie and his wife Angel. It was alot but she could see this family was really close and they all gave her hugs. The whole hour and half they all sat there talkkng about everything and many laughs coming from the crowded table. Laura would give her a wink, or Steve would give her a warm smile, or just a nudge and small kisses from Lawrence would resure her she felt wanted. What made her even made like she belonged is when Max had to leave with Stella and Stephanie to the theater before the dance recital started, Stephanie came up next to her and gave her a tight hug.

The rest of the night the whole family cheered on Stella and Stephanie on stage dancing their Christmas hearts out. It was around nine at night when they finally were headed back home after everyone said goodnight to each other. Steve was driving as he was dancing in his driver seat to polka music. They were half way home when the couple realized Stephanie had gone quiet as she was talking up a storm with Brooklynne and Lawrence. She turned her head to see all three were alseep. Lawrence head was laying agaisnt the window, Brooklynne's head was on Lawrence's shoulder, and fianlly Stephanie's head was on Brooklynne's shoulder. But Stephanie was curled up and her arms were wrapped around Brooklynne. Laura put her hand over her heart and just felt happy. Steve saw this in the review mirror quickly and took his wife hand and squeezed it, then took it to his lips and kissed it. Laura looked at him as he gave her a wuick glance. She gave him a wink, knowing the horizontal polka was happening tinight. Steven Q. Urkel loved seeing his wife just being happy.
