Chapter 17

He was not the most honest young man, but he was the bravest I ever saw ... When I met him, he was still a young auxiliary... And from the moment I saw him, I fell in love with him. —

Selene Cumberland's diary fragment.

Markarth - Morndas 20 Midyear of the 01 of the Fifth era

Sparks flew from the fire that lit and kept the room warm while Asia sat in front of a loom. She was just finishing knitting a cape for her daughter. Although she could buy it, the traditions dictated that the housewife was the one who had to make the clothes for the family. The reason she and Edzard bought everything before was because they weren't married yet.

Asia let out a sigh when she remembered the chaos that had been in the days after their wedding.

'Those days were hell for Ed.' Asia thought as she finished knitting.

The days that must have been happy for her and her family were chaotic and distressing, especially for Edzard, since both she and Marie had been indisposed. Marie had been locked in a cocoon of light for three days. According to Edzard, this cocoon of light was so strong that he for a second, he thought about using his Thu'um of lightning sword to destroy it, but in the end, he did not use it, as he feared that he might hurt Marie in the process.

His case was worse. She was in a coma for a week. According to Serana, her body had been burning with fever, in addition to the sounds of her bones breaking at various times. According to Aela, Edzard had only left her side when Marie had emerged from the cocoon of light. Although the truth was that he had gotten up from the chair and walked a few steps, since both she and her daughter had been put in the same room.

When she woke up and saw her daughter, she started to panic. While all the mages in the castle were trying to find out what had happened, Edzard had taken her to a secluded place so they could speak. He had told her that he was no longer a mortal, that he was now a Dovah in humanoid form. She demanded Edzard to tell her everything while threatening him with a pot. In the end, they both concluded that this could not have been the reason for their daughter's change.

So, in the end, neither she, nor Edzard, nor anyone else who was in the castle in those days knew what had happened. They had all been in anguish until a scream made the castle shake.

Everyone except Edzard had been scared. When they saw him so calm, they asked him what was happening. He replied that they were summoning him and his family to Upper Hrothgar.

Two days after that summons, they went to the throat of the world. Edzard had taken them flying, since they did not want to waste time on a wagon trip. When they arrived at the monastery they were greeted by Arngeir, who greeted them and told them that they had been summoned by Paarthurnax. So the next day, they climbed to the top of the mountain.

"Mom."

Her daughter's voice brought her out of her memories. Turning her head, she watched her walk into the room.

"What's up darling?" Asia asked when she saw her daughter's blond hair.

Yes, blond hair. That was the first thing she saw when she woke up. Her daughter had changed. Now it was almost a mini version of her. Her skin was the same tone as hers, her brown hair changed to the same shade of blonde as hers, only without her characteristic lock of hers. Her eyes turned the same shade of green as Edzard's, plus they also had a vertical pupil like Edzard before turning into a humanoid Dovah.

"I want to go out." Marie replied.

Asia smiled and got up. "It's fine. First you have to change into warmer clothes."

Marie nodded and with a smile started running towards her room.

Asia shook her head and decided to follow her daughter. As she walked, she began to remember how they had discovered that she and Marie had changed.

Flashback

The sun glinted off the snow that topped the highest mountain in Tamriel. Edzard, Asia and Marie were looking at the white dragon after climbing the dangerous path from the monastery.

"Drem Yol Lok. Welcome to my strunmah ... my mountain."

Edzard stepped forward and greeted the old dragon. "Drem Yol Lok. Zeymah."

The old dragon nodded and began to look at Asia and Marie.

"So they are your partner and your daughter."

Edzard nodded and motioned for them to introduce themselves.

Asia stepped forward and spoke. "I am Asia Argento Cumberland. It's nice to meet you."

Paarthurnax stared at Asia until he nodded.

Marie, for her part, looked scared at the dragon.

"And she is my daughter. Her name is Marie Cumberland Argento Edzarddottïr." Edzard said as he gave Marie a little shove.

Marie stood in front of Paarthurnax and bowed. After that, she went back to hiding behind Edzard.

"Sorry. She normally she is not that shy." Edzard said as he looked at his daughter. This was because Marie usually used to be happy to meet someone new.

Paarthurnax didn't reply, he just stared at Marie and Asia.

"Zeymah?" Edzard asked.

"Vomindok fez…. An unexpected result." Paarthurnax replied.

Edzard raised his eyebrow in confusion. "What do you mean?"

Paarthurnax began to move as he explained what was happening.

"The Sossedov the mul…. The dragon's blood runs strong in your daughter."

Paarthurnax's words chilled both Asia and Edzard.

"What do you mean the dragon's blood?" Edzard asked.

"Simple. His daughter has the Sossedov…. Dragon's blood runs strongly through your daughter's veins. Besides that it is also present in your wife, but in a more diluted way."

Both Edzard and Asia didn't know what to say. This answer had rendered them speechless. Edzard stepped forward and asked. "How did that happen?"

"When you guys copulated that Vulon… that night. You gave him part of your Suleyk… your power. You started in them a new Miir ... a new path."

Asia didn't understand and decided to ask. "What path is that?"

"Ul… eternity. You are not Joor ... mortal anymore. They are now Unslaad… immortal."

End of Flashback

Asia stopped remembering when she felt the skirt of her dress being pulled, looking down, she saw her daughter looking at her. Smiling, she began to change her clothes for Marie. When she finished, Marie was wearing a woolen dress with a fur cape and little fur-lined boots.

Seeing her daughter ready, Asia began to put on a warmer dress than the one she was wearing. As she changed, she finished remembering what had happened that day.

Flashback

"So, Edzard can turn others into a debased version of himself?" asked Asia.

"Yes. Edzard can give the Sossedov… the dragon's blood to others."

"I see. But how is that possible? "

"When Krif… you fought that Diil… that litch you ended up becoming a Dovah. But you sos… your blood had something else, you had the Sossegrohiik…. The blood of wolves."

Paarthurnax nodded and spoke. "Koogan… blessing, yes. Krasaar ... disease, no. You give a Koogan ... a blessing, not a Krasaar ... disease."

"Well, I already understood that. But how is it that Marie has dragon blood?"

Paarthurnax gave an amused laugh. "That was a gift from Bormah. He and Mara have turned his adopted daughter into his biological daughter. "

Edzard and Asia blinked and then screamed. Since at last they understood who had made them worry those days.

"Akatosh!"

"Mara!"

After yelling, Edzard started cursing in all the languages he knew. Asia, for her part, covered Marie's ears so that she would not learn insults in seven different languages, since Edzard had insulted in Ayleidoon, Ehlnofex, Ta'agra, Elvish, Yoku, Italian and Latin.

When Edzard calmed down, the old dragon finished telling what he knew. He told them that Asia had undergone a metamorphosis, which would allow her to access the full power of her Breton blood. Also, that her soul was now attuned to her birth constellation, allowing her to access her blessing. Something she hadn't had because she was born outside of Nirm.

"I see." Edzard said with his hand on his chin. Looking around him, he saw his daughter yawn. "Zeymah. Can you give me the information more quickly? Marie could fall asleep at any moment and I prefer that she do so in her crib."

Paarthurnax nodded. A multi-colored aura came out of the old dragon's body and headed towards Edzard.

"I see. So that has happened." Edzard said upon receiving all the knowledge of what had happened.

End of Flashback

Asia stopped remembering and put a cape around her shoulders. Walking, she took her daughter's hand and they left the house they were in. When they were outside, the wind blew their hairs.

"What do you want to do?" Asia asked her daughter.

Marie looked at the plain on which she currently lived. She was doing it for a long time, until she started walking towards a tree. Upon reaching the tree, she clung to the wooden bars that made up the balcony.

From that point you could see all the mountains and peaks that made up the Reach. In addition, the orange sky at sunset made the view more beautiful than normal.

"Be careful. You could fall." Asia said coming to her daughter's side.

"Mom. When will dad come back?" asked Marie.

"He should be back soon." Replied Asia as she rubbed her daughter's head.

Talking about Edzard made her remember what he had told her about his changes. Thanks to Edzard's blood, she obtained the full abilities of an inhabitant of Nirm. Also, she had also received a very useful skill. A skill that allowed you to learn and master a new language quickly. She sadly, she could not use the Thu'um, as she did not possess Akatosh blood nor was she a Nord.

Marie has also gained those abilities. This being the reason why she could already speak and know the meaning of various words despite her being only a girl who was almost two years old. In addition, the dragon's blood ran through her veins as she was the daughter of a Dovahkiin. And this allowed her to access the rapid learning and handling of the Thu'um.

Asia stopped thinking about that and began to enjoy the view of the balcony with her daughter. After a few moments, she stopped looking at the landscape that living in the Druadach mountain range afforded her and looked down at the house where she lived. The house was a large cabin made of wood. It looked exactly like the home of the Breeze. The house had been secretly built by Edzard before his wedding. They had come to this place to stay hidden and away from the political troubles that beset Edzard. In addition, he took advantage of the solitude to continue studying about the magic of the shadows.

Edzard had come a long way in his study of shadow magic. His first achievement was the creation of a pseudo shadowkey. The original shadowkeys were Daedric artifacts that gave users many abilities; however, Edzard's shadowkey only allowed him to teleport by opening portals. He could only teleport to places he had already visited.

When she stopped looking at the house, she realized that Marie was not at his side. Looking around the place, she saw her daughter walking towards her with something in her hands.

"Mom. Look what I found." Marie said showing Asia what she had found.

Asia looked at what her daughter had found and smiled. Marie had found mushrooms. "I see. Where did you find them?"

"Over there." Marie said as she pointed to a hillside with a lot of moss.

Asia walked over to it and removed the moss. "A cave."

Marie came to her mother and saw the cave. Guided by her curiosity, she delved into it a little. As she walked, she saw how there were several plants similar to the ones she had encountered before. Taking one, she was about to leave, but stopped when she heard a strange sound.

Looking towards the direction of the sound, his eyes widened as she saw a creature emerge from the darkness. The creature was a large black insect with two pincers on its head.

"Mom!" screamed Marie in fear as she ran towards the entrance.

Asia saw how a chaurus chased her daughter. She quickly created an ice spear and threw it at the bug. The spear hit the bug's head and killed it.

"Marie!" Asia yelled as she took her daughter into her arms.

Marie was crying on her mother's breast., while she rubbed her back and whispered reassuring words to her.

Asia looked at the cave and created an ice barrier to seal the entrance. She didn't want another one of those critters to come out and cause trouble. Tomorrow she would dedicate herself to cleaning the cave. After doing that, she went home and left Marie in her room.

"Mom." Marie said as she watched Asia arrive at her bedroom door.

"Yes. What's going on?"

"Can I sleep with you?"

Asia looked at her daughter and saw that her eyes showed fear for what just happened. So she walked to the bed and carried her daughter back to the main room of the house.

In the room, she left her daughter on the bed and changed her clothes. When she put on her nightgown, she walked to a shelf and pulled out a children's story. Sitting up in bed, she began to read the story to her daughter.

Black Marsh - Middas 22 of the Midyear of the 01 of the Fifth era

Edzard was walking through the swamps that made up one of the most inaccessible areas of the home region of the Argonians. He had come to this place flying in the dragon aspect of him after asking Odahviing to drop him off at the border between Cyrodill and Black Marsh.

"How do the Argonians bear to live here?" Edzard said as he scanned the area.

He was walking on the waters of a swamp, he had managed to kill several creatures that had tried to kill him, creatures such as: Wamasus, large reptiles that have very tough skin and abilities to use lightning. Hackwings, large birds with beaks like saws and Leviathans of the swamp, reptiles very similar to dragons with the only difference that they were not intelligent and did not fly.

In addition to those dangers, he had also survived other creatures such as voriplasmas and flesh flies. These creatures tended to attack in ambushes, so Edzard had the lightning cloak spell active. In this way, he had managed to kill any insect or being that attacked him by surprise.

Edzard was walking around for a long time, until he saw a good place for what he planned to do. The chosen place was a very old ziggurat. Walking, Edzard entered the ruin.

He walked for hours, challenging hundreds of creatures such as the undead, beasts, and other beings that dwelt within the ruin. He sighed when he made it to the final room of the ruin.

"This seems like a good place." Edzard said as he put his backpack on the ground.

Edzard began to draw various engravings in the corners of the room. He also set up some pedestals and made magic traps. When he saw that everything was ready, he took his backpack and headed to the center of the room. Taking a shovel, he dug a large hole.

"Very well. Let's get this over with."

Edzard took his backpack and pulled out a book. This book had a cover made of leather as black as night. In addition to containing a tribal engraving that symbolized Hermaeus Mora. This was a black book, a book that contained a great deal of magical and esoteric knowledge. It was the last book he had left. He had hidden the rest in various parts of Tamriel. Some in Cyrodill, some in Valenwood, some in Elsweyr. All hiding in very dangerous places, enough to put off any adventurer.

After placing the book in the hole, Edzard began to fill it with dirt. When the hole was completely covered, he moved away and prepared to create the barrier that would protect the place. When he was about to start the spell, he had to jump, as a kind of green slime hit the place where he had been standing.

"You know. I was wondering what time you would send your minions to stop me. Blackberry." Edzard said looking as in front of him appeared a grotesque being made of tentacles and eyes.

"Dovahkiin."

"Wow. What a surprise you don't call me a champion. " Edzard said with a smile.

"I have tolerated your actions for a long time." Mora said. "But I am already tired. I will have to remind you that you belong to me."

"Sorry, but I am married. And I love my wife too much to abandon her." Edzard joked with a smile.

Mora responded to Edzard's joke by opening various portals to his kingdom. From these portals appeared several lurkers. The lurkers are the creatures that inhabit the kingdom of Hermaeus Mora. They are similar in height to that of giants. They also have the face of a fish and wear armor that appears to be made of hardened seaweed.

The lurkers charged at Edzard, who also pounced on them. When he was halfway there, he drew his sword. The sword was a one-handed longsword made from a material called Sthalrim. Taking a great leap, he slashed the lurker's neck. The sword sliced through flesh with ease, thus demonstrating why Sthalrim was considered a material stronger than steel and as cold as death.

The lurker's body disappeared in a purple vortex. Edzard dodged the slime of another lurker, then ran towards him and using a lightning spell turned him to ash. The rest of the lurkers began to attack him simultaneously, but Edzard dodged his attacks and fought back quickly.

The battle had stalled, as each daedra that died was quickly replaced by another. This had led Edzard to devise a way to get them out of there. While the battle was exhausting, Edzard knew that Mora could not open many portals, as the barrier that protected Nirm caused the Daedric princes to expend a lot of power to send their minions to Tamriel.

Taking his backpack, Edzard tried to leave the room. This action caused the daedras to pursue him.

Edzard ran through the corridors of the ruin until he found a window. Jumping up, he stepped outside.

The daedras followed him, but they weren't the only ones, as Mora had also left the tower.

"What are you planning Dovahkiin?" Mora asked not understanding why Edzard had left the room where he was sealing the last black book.

Edzard smiled as he lifted his hand.

"Nothing important. Just creating the barrier." Edzard said as he snapped his fingers.

Inside the ruin, in the room where Edzard had been, a barrier appeared. This barrier was generated by four black soul gems. These gems possessed the souls of councilors Thalmor. The barrier had been designed to be very similar to the barrier in the Nightcaller Temple, so the barrier should be impossible to pass.

After creating the barrier, Edzard took a great leap and while he was in the sky, he collected a huge amount of magic in his left hand. Extending said hand, he released a spell. The spell Edzard had used was called the forbidden sun. The spell was overloaded enough for the sun-shaped fireball to be as big as a small house.

BOOOM!

The spell caused a huge explosion that shook the earth and engulfed everything in a fifty-meter radius.

Edzard landed in a crater whose surroundings were a scorched wasteland. In this wasteland, the charred corpses of lurkers began to return to Oblivion to reform.

"Don't think I have forgotten about you. Mora." Edzard said as he pointed his sword at the Daedric prince. "Let's get something clear. I am not your slave, nor that of any Daedric prince."

Edzard increased his grip on his sword and shouted. "QO! ZAHKRII!"

Edzard's sword generated a large number of lightning bolts, which were released in a blast, which impacted on Mora's corporeal form, causing his to dematerialize from Nirm.

Sighing, Edzard saw his cracked sword.

'I was lucky that Daedric princes cannot use their full power when they come to Nirm. Otherwise Mora would have swept the ground with me.' Edzard thought as he carefully sheathed his sword. Looking towards the ruin, Edzard smiled. At last he had shed one of his greatest burdens. Sighing, he took his Shadowkey and opened a portal to another place he should go to before returning to his house.

Markarth - Loredas 25 of the Midyear of the 01 of the Fifth era

Asia's eyes started to open. Yawning, she rubbed her eyes. When she finished doing it, she saw that it was still night. Looking to the side of her, she saw that her bed was empty.

'Ed. Where are you?' Thought Asia as she got up from the bed.

Walking to the bedroom window, she saw Edzard in the gazebo that was located just outside the house. Sighing, she walked to the closet to put on clothes. As she walked, she passed through a mirror. Looking in the mirror she could see his body.

She had changed physically since her wedding day. Initially, before they were married, she was one meter fifty-five centimeters tall, but now she was one meter sixty-two centimeters. Her breasts used to measure eighty-three centimeters and now they were ninety-one. Her hips had been held in measure at eighteen inches. And her butt had grown from eighty-one centimeters to ninety.

Another thing was that she now had a magical tattoo on her back. This tattoo was light gold in color and had a shape similar to that of an angel. Edzard also had one that was on the right side of his chest. Edzard's tattoo was black and had the shape of a dragon devouring a sun, which was located in Edzard's heart. These tattoos were not only aesthetic, but also served as suppressors of his power and aura. Edzard created them so they could go unnoticed on earth.

Putting on a dress, she left the house and walked over to Edzard.

Edzard was looking at the two objects in his hand. These were two rings. They were the rings that Duke Nathaniel and King Emeric had worn when they lived. Both rings were engraved with the heraldry of the Cumberland family. Edzard had found them after leaving the Black Marsh region.

'I was lucky that I didn't need to use my sword much, otherwise I would have had to find another one around.' Edzard thought.

The thought of his sword made Edzard remember the sword he had given his wife. A full-fledged powerful sword. It had been very difficult to create those two swords, the one he gave to Asia and the one he kept to himself. The procedure had been exhausting and very difficult to do. First, he had to convert the meteoric iron ore he had into ingots. To do so, he had to make Odahviing and Paarthurnax breathe fire to melt the ore. Second, he had to travel to Aetherius's forge to forge the swords. The blades had required three days of work. The pommel, guard and handle of each sword had been worked separately. Third, he had to enchant each part separately and then he had to create a magical nexus so that the enchantments were harmonized and worked in the best possible way. Fourth, he had to assemble the swords and make sure the enchantments worked well. In the end, creating both swords had taken him two weeks of grueling work where he only stopped to eat and drink water.

Looking up, he looked at the two moons and the stars. A small smile spread across his face when he heard someone try to sneak up on him.

"For someone who was born under the constellation of the shadow, you are lousy at stealth." Edzard said without turning to look at who was speaking.

"Mou. You're cruel." Asia said with a pout and then smiled as she hugged Edzard from behind. "A Septim for what you're thinking."

"Nothing important." Edzard replied.

"The last time you told me that, you concealed the fact that you were ceasing to be mortal."

Edzard smiled. "You're never going to let that go, are you?"

Asia just smiled.

"If you want to know so much. I'm just thinking of the names of all the sons and daughters we will have until the world ends."

Asia's face started to turn red and stutter. "So... So... sons... Da... Dau... daughters..."

"Hahaha." Edzard laughed. "Don't worry, it's just a joke."

Asia stopped stuttering and made a pout. "Ump."

"Asia, extend your hand."

Asia blinked, but she held out her hand.

Edzard, seeing the outstretched hand, put Duke Nathaniel's ring there.

"What is this?" asked Asia looking at the ring.

"The signet ring worn by Duke Nathaniel and all his descendants. In short, the ring your father would inherit."

"I see." Asia said looking at the ring sadly. "Thanks. Ed."

Asia put the ring in one of the pockets of her dress. "Ed. Can you bend over a bit?"

"Why?"

"I think you have something on your forehead?"

Edzard bent down and when he did he was kissed by his wife.

"It seems I was wrong." Asia said with a smile when she pulled away from him.

Edzard stood still for a moment. After that, he smiled and kissed his wife.

"So, Ed. How long until we travel to Earth?"

"Month and a half. Everything is almost ready."

"What is missing?"

"Finish developing the spell. Gather everything we will need and just a few more things." Edzard replied as he sighed.

"Ed. What do you care about?" asked Asia worriedly.

"Before returning I met secretly with Maximilien. We talk about the Council of Elders "

"I see. Were things so bad in the council of Elders?" asked Asia with concern. She knew the council was causing trouble.

"Worse than I thought. The two factions were about to declare open warfare." Edzard answered and then began to tell what happened at the meeting.

Flashback

Edzard was sitting across from the current Emperor of Tamriel.

"So. How does the crown treat you?" Edzard asked.

"Ahhh…. You have no idea how fucked up it is to be an emperor. Especially with the recent problems." Maximilien replied with a sigh.

Edzard raised an eyebrow. "What is the problem now?"

"The council of Elders."

"Ohh shit. Do not tell me. The factions are fighting like dogs."

Maximilien nodded. "Yes, although strangely your faction is the one that pressures the most for you to be emperor."

Edzard sighed. "They're still doing that shit. I have already told you that I do not want to be an emperor."

"You are right about that. Being an emperor is a fucking mess. I don't understand how Grandpa could stay sane." Maximilien said with a grimace.

"Why do you think he abdicated as soon as the war ended?" Edzard asked rhetorically as he gave a mocking smile.

Maximilien went blank and then sighed. "You're right."

"So. Will there be a civil war?"

"Maybe."

"Dammit. Those idiots really want to spit on the sacrifice of the dead left by the war." Edzard said angrily.

"Most of those old men don't care much about soldiers." Maximilien replied.

"Yes. I just realized." Edzard said.

"Do you have any ideas to avoid a fucking civil war?"

Edzard looked at the emperor and put on a smile that said I know something that you don't.

"Ed?" Maximilien asked curiously what his old friend might have planned. "What are you planning?"

"The war will not happen if one of the two disappears."

"What are you going to do?" Maximilien asked fearfully.

"I am going to leave Nirm with my family."

Maximilien was shocked. "How are you going to leave Nirm ?!"

"I'm going to another world." Edzard answered rubbing his ears. "Do not worry. You already know. It is normal for Heroes to disappear after performing a certain number of great feats."

Maximilien tried to reply, but couldn't. Edzard was right. It was always the same. The heroes of the elder scrolls disappeared from the face of the earth after performing the actions that classified them as heroes. In the end, only a few descendants were left scattered around the world.

"Do you think that will prevent war?"

"Yes. Above all, if I am the one who says it in front of the council."

Maximilien nodded and got up. "Well, friend. Shall we start? "

Edzard smiled and got up from his chair.

Both friends started heading to the Elders council room to finish off this problem.

End of Flashback

"I guess you told a twisted version of the real story, right?" asked Asia.

"Yes. I told them that we would travel to explore Atmora. "

"I suppose many complained."

"Yes. Many began to say that I should not leave Tamriel. But in the end, I expelled a bit of my power and made them pass out." Edzard said with a smile on his face. "Luckily, that seems to have scared them enough for a civil war to not occur."

"I see." She said Asia with a smile.

"Well. We should go to sleep. After all, I have yet to finish the spell to go to Earth." Edzard said as he took Asia's hand.

Asia nodded. And they both walked home.

Asia was lying on Edzard's chest while they rested. Both were in their bed dressed in their respective nightwear. They had tried to sleep, but in the end they couldn't. So they started chatting.

"Ed." Asia said looking up to see Edzard in him eyes.

"Yes." Edzard said stopping looking at the ceiling.

"I want you to promise me something." Asia said with concern in her eyes.

Edzard raised an eyebrow. "It's fine. What do you want me to promise you?"

"Promise me that if you get a concubine you will not cast me aside."

Edzard opened his eyes at what he heard. Looking into his wife's eyes, he saw concern and fear.

"Why do you ask something like this?"

"Aela and Serana mentioned that ..."

"You shouldn't listen to them. While it is true that I can have concubines, I would never do it without your permission." Edzard said looking Asia in the eyes.

"My permission?" asked Asia.

"Yes. You are my wife and the mother of my firstborn. I would never put you aside." Edzard replied with a smile as he stroked Asia's head.

Asia looked at Edzard and her eyes began to fill with tears.

"Sorry… sorry. It was… a stupid… question…. " Asia said between tears.

"You don't have to apologize. It's normal for you to have such concerns after what Serana and Aela told you. By the way, what exactly did they tell you?" Edzard said as he wiped away Asia's tears.

Asia stopped crying and blushed.

"They said that you could take a mistress as a concubine if I couldn't manage to satisfy you ..."

'Those idiots.' Edzard thought as he rolled his eyes. They had mentioned that to Asia as a joke. A very bad joke. With a sigh, he decided to tell Asia how concubinage worked in Nirm.

"Asia. Concubinage is applied mainly to combat low birth rates. On top of that, only those with money tend to apply it."

"Only the rich can have concubines?" asked Asia confused.

"No. All males can have several concubines."

"Why only males?" asked Asia with a frown.

"Practical reasons. It is easier to increase the population if a man makes several women pregnant. Since a woman can only get pregnant once a year, it doesn't matter if she has a hundred lovers."

Asia nodded understanding the reason.

"Well, as I was saying. Everyone can have concubines, but only the rich do, since they can support very large families. Normal people often cannot afford to have so many children at the same time." Edzard said.

"And since you have a lot of money ..."

"Yes. I could have several concubines. But as I told you, if I want a woman to enter this family, I will consult you. Also, I don't plan on getting away from you. After all, we swore to be together until the end of our lives. " Edzard said as he brought his face closer to Asia's.

Asia smiled when she heard that. A great weight had been lifted from her shoulders. She had been very worried about that. Lifting her face, she kissed her husband. The doubts she had about her marriage vanished as they both began to increase the intensity of the kiss.

"By the way. When did they tell you that?" Edzard asked when he pulled away from Asia and started to take off his shirt.

"Three days ago." Asia replied as she took off her nightgown.

They both looked at each other for a second and then they kissed again. Stopping kissing, they looked at each other and smiled. Looks like they wouldn't get much sleep tonight.

Author's note:

To those who have made it this far, Thanks for reading. Because being honest, I don't know how to write much in English and I'm relying on Google translators and the dictionaries that come with office 2019.

And here is the second chapter of the "interlude". As I said after the end of the war, these chapters are of relative "peace" for the Dovahkiin family. If I can call "peace" the fact that Edzard struck a Daedric prince.

I will begin to explain several things to avoid being killed.

Now about the mentioned languages that Edzard masters:

Ayleidoon - Language used by the Ayleid elves. Who dominated Cyrodil during the Meretic era.

Ehlnofex - The mother tongue of all the more modern languages of Tamriel.

Ta'agra - The native language of the Khajiit's.

Elvish - The native language of the High Elves or Altmer.

Yoku - The language of the early Red Guards.

In addition to those languages, Edzard is fluent in the Dovah language. He also knows how to read and write Falmer, magic language, and a bit of Dwemer.

Magical language is the language used to create grimoires.

About Asia's abilities, well, she's a half-Breton girl who was born on Earth. For that reason her soul was more of the earth than Anuica, that is why she did not have full access to the abilities of an inhabitant of Nirm. This has changed thanks to the "blessing" she received from Edzard. Besides that the reason she won't be able to use the Thu'um is because according to the lore, the Thu'um can supposedly only be used by dragons and Nords. If there has been a user of another race that is not a TESV character, please notify us to correct in future chapters.

About Marie. She is the daughter of Dovahkiin. Which makes her have the blood of the dragon and, therefore, the ability to learn the Thu'um. On top of that, thanks to her dragon blood, she can speak easily as it is second nature to her.

The blessing that Edzard can give will act differently depending on the species that receives it. In humans it will turn them into a kind of hybrids, in vampires it will have another effect and so on. But it will give everyone the ability to learn languages quickly, in addition to immortality.

On the language ability of dragons. Dragons have the innate ability to speak, furthermore, on a page from a long time ago, I read that they had the ability to quickly learn the languages of mortals. Also, if you think about it, how is it that Odahviing can speak in Tamrielic if he supposedly he died during the dragon war that occurred in the Meretica era or after the Akaviri Invasions?

Now about the "battle" against Mora. Daedric princes are not supposed to be able to enter Tamriel in their true form, but instead use a kind of temporary avatar, so they enter with their power diminished. Even Edzard himself says that if Mora had entered with his full power, he would have swept the ground with him. After all, Mora is one of the most powerful Daedric princes.

On the concubinage. I'm taking a mammoth-sized artistic license for this. Since I have not found anything on this subject in the wikis that I have reviewed. So I'm taking something that was common in the Nordic culture of the Earth and implanting it there.

Phantom Thief of Hearts:

You are right in that, both of them let out all the lust they were suppressing, although they had to receive help from someone. XD

In the castle there were not only Valerica and Serana, there were also the housecarls, Aela and Marie. So, they have had an audience. XD

Technically, they will appear on Earth months before the DxD canon begins. And about those cliches ...

Why would I turn the Dovahkiin into a devil? He already has all the most important advantages that a conversion could bring him. He already has magic, he can fly and above all he is immortal. So, nel, Edzard is still a dragon. On top of that, he will have a kind of personal revenge against a devil. XD

Regarding the three factions, Edzard will only interact with them when necessary. For the rest, he will move around the Earth map at will, but appearing at important moments for the DxD plot. Besides, he won't be at Kuoh's academy. And on the subject of Riser's arc being unnecessary, I have to disagree. That arc is necessary when planning the MC to have a romantic relationship with Rias, luckily, I don't plan that.

Edzard will take an interest in both celestial dragons. More than he will do everything because he will want to fight against both.

And about the fact that Asia, Edzard and Marie draw attention. Well, I made them marry for a reason. The reactions won't just be from Sona. Rias would be jealous of her marriage. Issei would be jealous that Edzard is married at his age. And the church let's not even talk. This issue will cause chaos in the church. Since the way Asia healed Diodora will not be the same as in canon.

And about Ophis, well I'm still not sure whether to put her in the harem. Maybe yes, maybe no. Although she is going to be chasing him into joining her organization.

Well, I apologize for any misspelling. Do not forget to leave a review if you liked the chapter or if there is something that needs to be improved or if you have any questions about the story. With nothing more to say, until the next chapter.
