Chapter 24

"To all our passengers. We inform you that we will soon arrive at Keflavík International Airport. We recommend that you return to your seats and fasten your seat belts."

Edzard stopped looking out the window and settled Marie in her seat. He then fastened his daughter's seat belt and proceeded to sit down.

"Hopefully this ends soon." Edzard said. "We are in the first weeks of December. And if we don't attend to it soon we will have to wait until February of next year."

"You are right. Hope this ends quickly. By the way, did you answer them?" asked Asia.

"Yes. I told them we would be there for Christmas."

Asia nodded and looked to her left. Her green eyes met Valerie's red ones. The young Dhampir smiled and returned her attention to the screen in front of her seat.

A smile appeared on Asia's face as she saw Valerie smile.

'It's good that the spell worked as we expected.' Thought Asia as she looked forward again and began to calmly wait for the plane to land.

A black BMW 745e was driving down the main avenue of the city of Reykjavik. This car had been rented by Edzard from a car rental agency. He had rented the car for a week, since that is how long he planned to stay in this country.

Edzard parked the BMW in front of a building in the commercial area of Reykjavik city. Sighing, he turned off the car and got out. He calmly walked towards the entrance and entered the building. Once inside, he went to the counter where the receptionist was. He currently wore a black formal suit with a white shirt and blue tie.

"Good Morning. What brings you to our editorial?" the receptionist asked. She was a pretty woman dressed in a dark blue formal suit.

"Good Morning. I'm Edzard Rolandson and I'm the writer who had an appointment with your boss for today."

"Ohh. So you are the author of the new saga of books that is on the lips of the entire company. Go ahead, your meeting will take place in room 745, which is located on the sixth floor."

Edzard nodded and said goodbye to the receptionist politely. Walking a few seconds he reached the elevator. Entering, he pressed the button for the sixth floor and waited. When the elevator reached the indicated floor, the doors opened. Edzard got out of the elevator and walked to the indicated door. When he got to the door, he opened it and entered.

The first thing he saw upon entering was a large rectangular table made of glass and several chairs around the table. Seeing that there was no one but him, he sat down on a chair and waited patiently. A few minutes later, a man in his early twenties appeared. The man had silver hair and his eyes were purple. He was wearing a black formal suit with a white shirt and a purple tie. Furthermore, he carried several document folders in his arms.

Seeing the man, Edzard felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise in warning. So, to rule out any possible threat, he used the vision of the tenth eye spell. As he did so, he saw that the man had not one, not two, but that he had five pairs of black wings.

'Don't screw me. Do the fallen angels also have wing numbers that show their power like Rizevim?' Edzard thought as he dispelled the spell. Fortunately, the fallen angel had not noticed the spell and continued to advance as if nothing had happened. 'For now I will continue to play normal human. But I must be on my guard.'

"Good morning, Rolandson. I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long." Said the man approaching and sitting in front of Edzard

"Hello. Don't worry, I arrived a few minutes ago."

"I see. I am Shemhazai. The vice manager of the publishing house «Fifth Heaven»." Shemhazai introduced himself as he placed a folder in front of Edzard and took a sheet from there. "Well, let's get started. There is not much time and we are both busy people. The drafts of your books have been examined and it is my pleasure to tell you that we have accepted the publication of all of them. The order in which you have requested that they be published will be respected. About the waiting time between the publication of each book, how long do you suggest?"

"I suggest they publish one each year. Thus, in this way, expectation will be generated in the readers."

"I see. It's a good time frame." Shemhazai said as he wrote on a page. After writing, he looked up. "Now. The distribution of the profits will be ten percent of the sale price of each physical copy sold, fifty percent of the sale price of each electronic copy sold. And finally, if your literary saga manages to get an adaptation on both television and film, you will receive twenty-five percent of the total earnings. You agree to these amounts."

Edzard looked at Shemhazai for a second and then closed his eyes. 'The amount of percentages is well balanced.'

"Yes. I agree."

Shemhazai looked at Edzard and handed him some sheets of paper along with a pen. "Here is the contract."

Edzard received the contract and began to read it. Everything that Shemhazai had mentioned was written in the contract. So, seeing that everything was in order, he took the pen and signed.

Shemhazai took the contract and checked that everything was in order. Seeing that everything was in order, he smiled. "Everything is in order. Thank you very much for doing business with us."

Edzard nodded and after a little goodbye, they both withdrew.

When Edzard left the building he was smiling. He has just signed a contract that will allow him to have legal and simple money in this world. The books he was writing were the history of Aurbis, from the dawn era to the fourth era. Within these books were the stories of many heroes, although he had not included his. And he was glad of that decision, since if he ever had to face the fallen angels, he would still have the wow factor with his abilities. In addition, all the stories were modified and adapted to better capture the attention of potential clients that he would have. Getting into his car, he headed towards the hotel where he was staying.

The sun was shining as Asia, Marie and Valerie walked the streets of Reykjavik city. It had been three days since Edzard had signed the contract for the copyright of the books he had been writing with the help of a magic pen.

"Mom. I want chocolate." Marie said pulling Asia's hand.

Asia looked at her daughter and sighed. Her little girl had become addicted to chocolate to the point of eating ten super sweet chocolate bars every day. Normally she would be worried, since so much sweet could not be good for Marie, but she then remembered the large amount of kilocalories that they normally consumed in order to live peacefully. Also, Marie used to burn off that excess sugar by running around the room, dancing, jumping, and doing other activities. So, at the end of the day, there didn't seem to be anything harmful with her daughter eating too much chocolate.

"It's fine." Asia said.

"Thank you, mom!" shouted Marie with a big smile and started walking with little hops.

Marie's shout made several of the locals turn to see the origin of the shout and they began to whisper among themselves when they saw that the girl's mother was a young woman no older than eighteen years of age.

"Waiting. Is that young woman already a mother at this age?"

"The youth of now. They don't know what decency is."

Asia closed her eyes and kept walking as if nothing was wrong. Her indifference towards the comments of the villagers was due to the fact that she always received them when people found out that she was already a mother.

'It's amazing that she can ignore so many comments as if they didn't exist.' Valerie thought as she watched Asia and Marie walk as if nothing was wrong.

"Valerie. Come on, don't stay behind."

Valerie blinked and started following Asia and Marie to a nearby coffee shop.

When the group of women reached the cafeteria, they sat at a circular table with three chairs and waited for the waiter to arrive. When it arrived, they ordered their drinks. When the waiter received the orders he left the table. In the end, Asia ordered a mocha for herself and a hot chocolate with marshmallows for Marie. Valerie also ordered a mocha for herself. In addition, they asked for various cookies and sweets to eat while they drank their drinks.

"Asia. Can you answer some questions I have?" Valerie asked looking at Asia.

Asia looked at her for a few seconds and nodded.

"What is Edzard?"

Asia was about to answer him, but she did not, since at that moment the waiter arrived with all the orders. When he left, Asia gave her cup to Marie, who began to calmly drink her chocolate from the children's cup they had in the cafeteria. Asia, on her side, took a sip of her coffee.

"Why are you asking now?" asked Asia.

Valerie looked at her mug and sighed. "I did not notice it. But a few days after my soul was healed, I saw Edzard release a torrent of flames from his mouth. Initially, I dismissed it as a trick my mind was playing. However, yesterday I saw Edzard launch another similar attack, but now it was ice."

Asia looked at the Dhampir and sighed. She and Edzard had decided to keep the information about Aurbis secret, so she couldn't tell Valerie anything. Fortunately, Edzard had invented an excuse for cases like these.

"Valerie. Edzard is a dragon in human form."

Valerie's eyes widened in surprise.

"What do you mean that he is a dragon in human form?" Valerie asked quietly.

"Edzard is a dragon that has the appearance of a human and not that of a reptile."

"I understand that. But how is it possible that there is such a dragon? "

Asia blinked not knowing what to say, as she didn't know how to explain that to Valerie without telling her about Nirm, the Aedras, and the Daedras.

"I wouldn't know how to explain it to you. Since even I don't quite understand how that is possible."

Valerie wasn't completely satisfied with the answer; however, she decided not to ask further.

After that, both girls continued drinking their cups of coffee and started chatting about other things.

The moon was high as Edzard drove down the road back to Reykjavik. He had left early on that short trip so that he could clear his mind of the thoughts that occupied it. A few hours ago he had had a talk with Asia, a talk where his wife had told him that she had had a conversation with Valerie in which she had revealed that he was a dragon in humanoid form.

"Ahh. What a mess. I feel bad for making Asia lie to Valerie." Edzard said with a sigh.

'What should I do at this time? Tell Valerie the whole truth? Follow the lie? 'Edzard thought as he pulled up to the side of the road.

With the car stopped, Edzard rolled down the window and sighed as he gazed out at the scenery. He was thinking about the pros and cons of the different options he had in mind. After thinking about it for a long time, he decided that the best thing would be to tell Valerie the truth so that the young Dhampir did not lose confidence in them.

"Well I better go." Edzard said turning the car back on. As he did so, he looked to his right and his eyes widened as he saw a beam of magic fly rapidly towards his position.

"What the fuck ?!" was what he yelled before a huge explosion covered the area.

Rossweisse's breath came out like a cloud of steam thanks to the freezing air in the area where she was. She was currently kneeling on her right leg as she looked at her enemies. These enemies were a pair of five-meter-tall jötunn with a muscular build who wore black iron armor. In addition, one carried a huge double-edged battle ax almost twice his height and the other a sword with a shield.

"Hahaha. That is all you have, little Valkyrie." One of the giants sneered as he took his weapon in both hands and prepared to charge at Rossweisse.

Rossweisse saw the giant charge at her and taking several steps back, she created a large number of magic circles and began to launch a barrage of magic at her opponents. However, this tactic failed when her enemies dodged the attack by running around her.

'This is not working. I'm already fighting for more than an hour against these jötunn. Should I change my strategy?' Thought Rossweisse, starting to fly to avoid the blow of the giant's ax.

She found herself in this predicament because she had lost a bet against Brynhildr, the leader of the Valkyrie squad in Asgard. In said bet she would be leaving for a day her duties as Odin's bodyguard and would take a mission of intermediate rank. Unfortunately, this mission went south thanks to the mysterious appearance of several jötunn. She had already sent a help message requesting backup.

One of the giants gritted his teeth when he saw Rossweisse fly away. Looking around him, he saw some rocks, smiling he walked towards them and began to throw them at the Valkyrie.

Rossweisse's eyes widened when she saw a large rock fly at high speed against her. Wasting no time, she began maneuvering in the air to dodge the projectile. Thanks to this tactic, she managed to dodge several stones; However, as she was watching the stones, she did not realize that the other giant had surrounded her and was preparing to attack her.

Rossweisse spun in midair so she could dodge a stone. It is at that moment that she saw the other giant. The giant took a great leap and when he was in front of her, he took a vertical slash. Rossweisse, seeing the attack, was able to create a magic circle to protect herself; However, the force of the attack sent her flying towards the ground. The impact caused the snow around her to rise like a cloud of dust.

"Aghh." Rossweisse moaned after the impact. Slowly she began to get up. When she was on her knees, she looked up and saw in horror how the other giant was in front of her.

The giant had a grin from ear to ear as he began to raise his ax.

Time seemed to slow down for Rossweisse as she saw the giant's ax fall against her. However, when the weapon was a few inches from hitting her, the giant was sent flying thanks to a powerful lightning bolt that hit him across the chest. The force of the spell must have been very great, since the giant flew about twenty meters.

Rossweisse snapped out of her stupor when she saw the shadow of a person who seemed to be standing behind her. Turning her head slowly, her eyes widened when she saw a warrior clad in dark gray steel plate armor. The armor was a full body armor, which consisted of a carved breastplate with shoulder pads in the shape of eagles' heads. Furthermore, the armor appeared to be made for cold weather, as it showed that within it were several layers of black skin. Finally, the helmet was shaped like a bear's head.

'Who is it?' Thought Rossweisse confused, as she did not recognize the armor that her supposed savior wore.

Edzard was furious, not on the level of using his dragon aspect to attack, but enough to attack with full power in human form. His anger was because he nearly lost the car he had rented. He had been saved thanks to the fact that he was able to create a ward in time, unfortunately, the car suffered some damage. Damages that he would have to pay and for which he would have problems with the company that had rented it to him.

"Who are you?"

Edzard blinked and then looked at the ground. His eyes widened when he saw a beautiful young woman lying on the ground covered in minor injuries. The young woman she seemed to be the same age as him, her long straight hair was a beautiful silver color that seemed to be reflecting the moonlight. Her blue eyes looked at him in confusion and surprise. She wore armor consisting of a white breastplate with gold and pale blue accents and matching fingerless gauntlets, boots, hip protectors, and wing-shaped hair clips. She also wears a black leotard underneath her breastplate, black thigh-high stockings, and a pale blue cloth wrapped underneath her hip guards, all of which are clad with pink laces, as are her hair clips.

"Oh. Sorry I hadn't seen you." Edzard said in a gentle voice, temporarily forgetting his anger. Holding out his hand, he introduced himself. "My name is Ysmir."

Rossweisse took the outstretched hand and stood up. When she stood, she noticed that Ysmir was slightly taller than her. A ray of moonlight shone at that moment, showing Edzard's face. This made her cheeks turn red when she saw that the one who had saved her was someone her age.

Edzard put a mocking smile on his face when he saw that blush. "May I know the name of such a beautiful lady?"

Rossweisse's blush increased in intensity upon hearing those words.

'Did he just call me beautiful ?!' Rossweisse thought, panicking. However, he remembered where she was and was able to regain his composure.

"Coff. My name is Rossweisse. It's nice to meet you Ysmir. " Rossweisse said in the most professional way she could as she tried to walk.

Edzard smiled again and nodded. "I see. You have a beautiful name."

Rossweisse's right foot stumbled when she heard what Edzard just said to her.

"T… T… This is not the time to say such things." Rossweisse said trying to scold Edzard.

Edzard responded to the scolding by laughing softly.

'Now I understand why Aela and Serana bothered me so much. It's a lot of fun.' Edzard thought smiling until he blinked and his smile died.

Rossweisse raised an eyebrow as Edzard stopped smiling and made a serious face.

Rossweisse. What are those giants?" Edzard asked pointing to the giants.

"They are jötunn." Rossweisse replied as if it was something everyone should know.

"Jötunn?" Edzard asked confused.

"Don't you know what a jötunn is?" Rossweisse asked.

"No. The truth is that I don't know what they are."

Rossweisse sighed and began to explain to Edzard about the jötunn's. After a minute, she finally finished the explanation.

"Do you understand?"

"Yes. Thanks for the explanation."

"You're welcome."

"By the way. What are you doing fighting in Iceland?" Edzard asked as he remembered how she had told him that she was fighting in Asgard.

"Iceland? ... Wait. Are we in Iceland ?!" Rossweisse asked in panic.

"Yes."

Rossweisse put her hand to her chin and began to think.

'Something weird is happening here. At what point did we leave Asgard?'

However, she couldn't keep thinking, as both jötunns approached them.

"Damn Human! How dare you attack me ?!" yelled the giant who had received Edzard's spell in anger.

Edzard put a smile on his face as he answered. "I dare, because I want to and because I can."

The giant clenched his teeth in anger and lunged at Edzard.

Edzard saw the giant run towards him. So, turning his head, he saw Rossweisse and spoke.

"Rossweisse. What is your fighting style? Magic from a distance? Body to body?"

"I use elemental spells to attack from a distance, why?"

Edzard smiled and crouched slightly. "Because I entrust the rearguard to you."

After saying that, Edzard shot off like a rocket towards his enemy. Edzard's speed caught everyone by surprise. When he was a few feet from facing the giant, he brought his hand to his back. With a purple glow, a sheathed greatsword appeared on his back. Taking the handle of his greatsword, Edzard slashed at the giant. The giant responded by using his ax to block the attack. The force of the blow caused the giant to skid several meters, away from his companion.

The other giant, seeing his companion in trouble, tried to support him, but could not take many steps when two ice spikes prevented him from heading towards his companion. Looking up, he saw Rossweisse with her hand outstretched.

"Where do you think you are going?" Rossweisse asked seriously.

The giant roared in anger as he charged with Rossweisse, who began to fly and cast spells against her enemy.

Edzard was exchanging blows against the giant. Each blow created shock waves that kicked up some of the surrounding snow.

"How are you so strong, human?" asked the giant when he saw how Edzard effortlessly stopped the blows of his ax.

"Why do all the idiots I fight look down on me for looking human?" Edzard asked as he began to apply more force to his grip. The force was such that he began to push the giant back. Edzard moved his sword enough to leave an opening in his opponent's defense. With the opening visible, Edzard cast a powerful lightning spell on the giant's chest causing it to fly in the direction of his companion.

Rossweisse had managed to wound her enemy enough to cause him to lose great mobility. Creating a magic circle, she cast a spell, which the giant blocked with his shield. However, the impact was so strong that the giant was forced to retreat several meters.

The giant kept his gaze fixed on Rossweisse and did not notice that his companion was flying in his direction.

Both giants collided and ended up on top of each other.

Edzard arrived at the scene and spoke. "Rossweisse, cast a powerful spell. I will also use one. We have to get this over with quickly."

Rossweisse nodded and created a large magic circle in front of her. Without thinking twice, she launched a huge fireball towards the giants. Looking up, she expected to see Edzard's magic circle; however, she did not see Edzard wear any circles. The only thing she saw was that he raised his left hand and gathered a great deal of magic. And when Edzard reached out, she saw a house-sized sun rise from it.

The fireball and the miniature sun traveled their respective distances and slammed into the giants.

BOMMMM!

The explosion generated by both spells created a shock wave that made Rossweisse stagger, but Edzard stood as if nothing was wrong.

When the explosion ended, a large crater was in the place where the giants had been. Speaking of these, they were both completely inert on the ground. Their bodies showed very severe burns. These kinds of injuries could only cause Edzard and Rossweisse to come to the same conclusion. The conclusion that both giants were dead.

Seeing the crater and the dead giants, Rossweisse walked towards Edzard. When she was in front of him, she received a blow to her head. The force of that blow sent her face down into the snow. Rising and rubbing her head, she demanded answers.

"Why did you hit me ?!"

"Because I just realized that it was you who threw that beam of magic to where it was!" Edzard replied annoyed. He had just come to that conclusion because he had realized that giants did not use magic.

Edzard's words made Rossweisse look at him confused. "Ehh. What do you mean?"

"I'm saying one of your attacks hit my car." Edzard said already calmer.

"Waiting. Did one of my attacks hit your car?"

"Yes. A yellow beam of magic struck when I was about to start my car again to go back to the hotel where I am staying."

Rossweisse's face turned snow white when she understood what had happened.

"I am sorry! I promise I'll pay for your car repairs!" shouted Rossweisse as she bowed

When the Valkyrie stopped bowing, she looked at Edzard and asked. "What model of car is it?"

"It's a BMW 745e."

Rossweisse was about to faint when she heard the model of the car. She had heard of that model car once when she was working as a Valkyrie collecting the souls of mortals. From what she heard, that car cost more than a hundred thousand dollars. So therefore the repairs would be very expensive.

Edzard looked at Rossweisse and out of nowhere began to laugh.

Rossweisse watched Edzard laugh and she didn't know why he was doing it.

"Eto. Why are you laughing?"

"It just makes me laugh to see you so scared to pay for my car repairs." Edzard answered, stopping laughing. Taking some air, he managed to calm down completely. "Quiet. My car is not damaged. I was just upset about that attack."

When Rossweisse heard those words, she felt a great weight lift off her shoulders.

Edzard smiled inwardly when he saw Rossweisse sigh in relief. He had decided to lie upon seeing Rossweisse's panicked face.

'What's a couple thousand dollars from my bank account?' Edzard thought calmly. And it is that, if he ran out of money, he could easily convert iron or silver into gold and recover what was lost.

.'Ahhhh. Lucky. If that car was really damaged, I would need several years of my salary to pay for the repairs.' Rossweisse thought, relieved that she didn't have to pay for those repairs.

Edzard smiled when he saw a smile appear on Rossweisse's face.

"Know. You should smile more often. That makes you look prettier." Edzard said with a friendly smile on his face.

Rossweisse's face turned red and she began to stutter. However, whatever conversation they might have hoped to have was cut off when Edzard's cell phone rang. Edzard answered the call and heard the voice of his wife.

"Yes. I'm on the way. Huh huh. I see. I'll buy some on the way to the hotel. I see you there. Take care of yourself."

Edzard sighed when the call ended. Asia just told him to buy some diapers and wipes for Marie.

"Okay. I just got a call from my family. I have to go back to the hotel." Edzard said looking at Rossweisse. "Will you be okay if I leave you alone?"

"Yes. Do not worry. My comrades must be arriving soon." Rossweisse replied.

"I see. Well I guess I should go. It was nice meeting you Rossweisse." Edzard said as he started to walk towards his car.

"Equally. It was nice meeting you, Ysmir." Rossweisse said.

Edzard paused for a moment and turned his head. Looking at Rossweisse, he smiled and using his right hand threw something at her. My name is Edzard Rolandson. Ysmir is a title that I have inherited. I hope that one day we will see each other and fight together again."

After saying that, Edzard started running until he was out of sight.

Rossweisse smiled as she saw Edzard's silhouette disappear into the snowy hills. Then she opened the hand with which she had caught the object that Edzard had thrown at her. Her eyes widened when she saw a small white envelope. Opening the envelope, she could see a gold coin engraved with a man's face on one side and a diamond-shaped dragon on the other. There were several words written there, but she did not recognize the language.

"What is this coin?"

Rossweisse was staring at the coin so intently that she did not realize that her fellow Valkyries had arrived. When she noticed her arrival, she was the victims of her jokes. However, one of them asked her about the coin she was looking at.

"It was given to me by a young man who fought with me against the jötunn."

The other Valkyries were amazed when they heard that and began to ask her about the identity of that young man. But in the end, she only replied that her name was Ysmir. She had decided to keep the real name as her little secret.

Edzard walked calmly through the streets of Kuoh while looking at the lights that illuminated the street on this winter night. The day before had been Christmas Day and he had spent it with Asia, Marie and Valerie at the Hyoudou's house. Mikki had invited him to spend the December holidays with them. The woman had insisted so much that he had to accept. So, for that reason, he had come to this city four days ago.

The party had been a quiet affair with food and him telling the Hyoudous about his travels since they last saw each other. There was also a gift exchange. Miki had been given a few jewels. To Gorou, a couple of bottles of spirits from other countries. And to Issei, Edzard had given two gifts. The first, a couple of storybooks and a copy of the sensual Argonian maiden. The second, he had given him when they were alone. This had been a box, which contained two pairs of scrolls with some spells. He had told her that this box was very special and that he should only open it when he felt the time was right.

The party had been fun. Especially the part where Miki took Asia, Valerie and Marie into a room. After a few minutes, the three of them came out wearing a Santa Claus costume. While Marie's was a childish costume that made his daughter look very adorable, Asia and Valerie's made both of them look sexy. The way those dresses outlined her figures made Issei grin like an idiot, so he had to hit him so he wouldn't see his wife or her companion that way.

After that, they continued talking and eating well into the night. Although the Hyoudous had invited them to celebrate the new year with them, he had to decline, as he would have to spend the new year elsewhere. This because they had called it from the publishing house «Fifth Heaven». They had invited him to have a talk with the head of the conglomerate.

'They have told me that sales have been very good. More than two million copies sold in two weeks.' Edzard thought with a smile.

As he walked, a very strong smell of iron filled his nostrils. The smell caused him concern, as he knew that kind of smell very well. After all, he had smelled it for much of his life. So for that reason he decided to go to the source of origin. When he arrived at its place of origin, he saw that it was a large abandoned mansion. However, before he stepped inside, a great scream was heard. So, without thinking twice, he sprinted towards the building.

Aika stared in horror at the being in front of her. The being was a six-foot-tall being with a muscular body and black skin. His head was shaped like a goat. His mouth was full of sharp, razor-sharp teeth.

"Hahaha. How good you came today. I was hungry and I was beginning to despair about the lack of prey that came to this place." The being said as he licked his lips.

Aika began to back away slowly. Fear was visible on both her face and her body, as both her legs were shaking so much that it was almost a miracle that she was able to stand.

'Why did I have to accept that bet?' Aika thought in panic as she saw the monster approach her.

"Help!" was the scream she gave as she saw her imminent death coming.

She didn't know it, but the being that was trying to kill her was a wandering stray devil that had come to Kuoh a few weeks ago. From the first day of his arrival and establishment in this mansion, the devil had hunted humans for food, creating the legend that the mansion was haunted. Aika had lost a bet with some of her companions and that is why they had told her to enter that mansion for a few hours and then to leave it.

The devil licked its lips and smiling, it pounced on Aika to devour her. However, when he was within inches of accomplishing his task, he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. The pain originated from a blow, which was so strong that he made him fly until he ended up going through three walls.

Aika opened her eyes at the noise. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw someone she had known a few months ago.

"E… Edzard?" she asked, stuttering from the shock of seeing him.

Edzard turned his head when he heard someone call out to him. He blinked when he identified the girl behind him.

"Kiryuu." Edzard said as he sighed. After that, he extended his hand to help her up.

Aika took the offered hand and stood up.

"What are you doing here, Kiryuu?" Edzard asked as he looked back at the direction where the devil had been sent to fly.

"I lost a bet and between…. Waiting! What are you doing here?! And even better! What is that thing?!" Aika asked in panic.

Edzard glanced at her without dropping his guard.

"I came to spend Christmas with the family of an acquaintance." Edzard answered, since for him there was no need to lie on that subject.

"Voucher. But what is that thing?" Kiryuu said as she pointed a finger at the devil that had already got up and was approaching them.

"No idea. The truth is that I don't know what creature it will be." Edzard answered truthfully, since he didn't know what that thing was.

'However, this monster is giving off the same scent as a devil. But this scent is very tainted.' Edzard thought as he prepared to fight.

Aika saw Edzard take a fighting stance and was scared. She did not understand what was happening.

"Edzard, I don't know what happened before, but you can't fight that thing! Let's get away from here!" Aika yelled in fear.

Edzard was unfazed by hearing Aika's voice. But, smiling, he spoke. "Quiet. That thing will not be able to kill me, even if I am dying."

The devil saw Edzard and sniffed. His eyes widened in anger when he realized that he had been the one who had dared to intrude on his dinner.

"Damn human! How dare you meddle in my food ?!" the devil roared.

Edzard grinned mockingly and didn't reply verbally. This caused the devil to see red and charge at Edzard.

"Die!" was the cry that the devil gave as he ran towards Edzard.

For Aika, the devil's speed was astonishing, but for Edzard it was incredibly slow. When the devil was within a few steps of him, Edzard moved so fast that he gave the appearance of having teleported from one place to another.

"Uaaaggg." Was the only thing that came out of the devil's mouth as his body was bent into a V from the force of Edzard's blow. The force applied was such that the devil spat out a large amount of blood, since Edzard had destroyed several of his internal organs with that blow.

The devil fell to his knees as he brought his hands to the place where he had received the blow. Looking up, he saw Edzard approaching him. Edzard tried to put his hands on the devil's head, but it opened its mouth and released a jet of flame.

Edzard dodged the attack and looked at the devil. Sighing, he extended his right hand towards his enemy.

'Looks like I'll have to find another one of these beings to read his mind.' Edzard thought as he gathered magic in his outstretched hand. With a simple command from his mind, a great torrent of flames shot out of his hand towards the devil. The torrent of flames engulfed the devil and charred it in seconds.

Aika looked at everything in shock. She didn't know how to react to what she saw. First, she was almost killed by a monster from a manga. Second, the boy who had saved her a few months ago had saved her again. Third, that same boy had taken down the monster with two attacks. She at that moment sat on the ground feeling that if she continued standing for much longer she would faint.

Edzard turned his head and saw Aika sitting up, staring at him with her eyes and mouth wide open. Part of him wanted to tease her, but another part of him was panicking.

'Ahhhh. What the fuck am I doing? This is the first time a normal human has seen me fight.' Edzard thought as he tried to find a solution to his dilemma. In the end, his mind only came to a single conclusion, that of telling Kiryuu everything. This is because, even though he knew how to use magic to read minds, he did not know how to erase memories.

'Dammit. I must have attended those memory implantation classes they gave at school when I was a student.' Edzard thought regretting not attending classes on a type of spell that he considered completely useless if you weren't someone who liked to use intrigue.

"It seems I have a lot to tell, right?" Edzard said as he looked at Aika.

Author's note:

To those who have made it this far, Thanks for reading. Because being honest, I don't know how to write much in English and I'm relying on Google translators and the dictionaries that come with office 2019.

Now to begin.

Happy New Year!

We hope that this year 2022 will be one in which we can meet our goals. And let's hope that the pandemic is controlled and we can return to our lives as before.

Now if, what is next. In this chapter we see that Edzard meets Rossweisse and signs a book publishing contract with the Grigori. Also, Aika just watched Edzard fight and kill a stray devil.

Regarding the following chapters, I have decided that I am going to start publishing the chapters every 15 days, since I am going to travel for summer vacations and I will not have an internet connection or a PC nearby for several days.

And finally, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to become a beta for this story. If anyone is interested send me a PM.

Now, as a New Year's gift, a fragment of a chapter from very, very forward:

Issei was lying on the ground, his clothes completely destroyed, his few reserves of demonic power depleted and his body was completely covered in wounds. His state was so pitiful that even a movement as simple as raising his head was a veritable ordeal. Posing his eyes around him, he saw the ORC members and the student council members in the same condition as him. The only people standing were Edzard's group; However, that does not mean that they are unscathed, since it was clear that they were all using all their willpower to avoid falling. Looking in front of him, he saw the cause of his current state. His face was younger, his eyes were the same color as polished silver, but he had no doubts, that face was Edzard's.

Well, I apologize for any misspelling. Do not forget to leave a review if you liked the chapter or if there is something that needs to be improved or if you have any questions about the story. With nothing more to say, until the next chapter.
