Prologue
The cycle of reincarnation remained stable for millennia as the Reio remained a stalwart constant in humanity. As an active administrator and lynchpin in maintaining the balance of the human afterlife, his role remained unchallenged.
As humanity soared past Earth's atmosphere and took to the stars, he fought against the Dangai to ensure humanity had a future past death. No population remained unattended, and no soul was given to the void.
He was content with keeping to humanity's afterlife and allowing the aliens to have their peace through disinterest. The elder gods, in particular, only sparsely interacted with him on occasions when both Eldar and human blood were shed.
Yet, his disinterest cost him everything.
The eldar birthed a gaping wound across space and time in their decadence and decay. The sheer magnitude of the event was enough to break the wall between the human afterlife and the chaotic space that was long suppressed.
Huenco Mundo was the first to be consumed in the plague. The desolate sandy wasteland fractured into a chaotic and demonic realm. The strong and resilient hollows fell into the profound influence of the chaos gods; their power was corrupted and transformed into extensions of chaos.
Then, Soul Society was obliterated by the combined might of the chaotic pantheon and the self-destruction of numerous corrupted vasto lordes. The soul reapers fell to the last, the Captain Commander freezing the entire realm in a desperate, doomed bid to hold it together.
All it did was provide a bridge straight to the soul palace.
There, the Reio struggled against the encroaching damnation for an age.
Until a familiar entity approached him, one he had briefly spoken to many years before.
There, a proposition was made, and a contract was accepted.
For if humanity were to survive, it would need to fight, and what better way was there but to weaponize a god?
Thus, Ichigo Kurosaki was reborn.
Prologue End
I will throw this out here and ponder what to do as I try to learn as much lore as possible on the 30th millennium and the primarchs. Currently, I am leaning toward just replacing Corvus Corax with Ichigo primarily due to the primarch's lack of impact as well as his planet of origin (while also dramatically changing the trajectory). Still, I also entertained the idea of starting from the ground up.
Thoughts?
Anways, will try to update this once I come to a decision as well as try to update my other stories once I get motivation and ideas to.
SaveTheWeak, out.
