Hey guys! I've been a long time enjoyer of 911 (and Lone Star) but I've never written anything for them til now. I really love watching these two together, it gives me all of the good feels, so I had to include them in this series. Hoping that I did their characters justice.
Thanks to thisoneslate for providing me with two prompt words when I was stuck with this; 'blue' and 'key'. Also thanks to midsummersmorn for giving me the motivation to finish it.
Spread good vibes this holiday season, let me know if you enjoyed this story, much love, happy holidays xox

Tommy rapped his knuckles against Evan's door three times before he let his hand fall back by his side, other one tucked into the pocket of his jeans. Noises came from the other side of the door, nothing too concerning though, just some scraping, muffled talking, and a thud after some movement. It didn't feel necessary to knock again, Evan clearly knew he was there, and Tommy was in no hurry, he could wait until his boyfriend was ready to let him in.
Finally the locks clicked, and the handle turned, door pulling away from the frame to reveal an anxiously smiling Evan in a pair of dark blue jeans and a white t-shirt. Making a mental note to get his boyfriend wet in a white t-shirt some time Tommy smiled back at him expectantly.
"Hey."
"Um, hi, sorry, come in," Evan opened the door completely, ushering Tommy inside before closing it again.
"Is everything alright, Evan? You're being kinda squirrelly," Tommy inquired, noting that he hadn't even received a kiss hello.
"Am I? Nah, everything's fine, just y'know, trying to figure out this paint situation…"
Ah, of course, the 'reason' that Evan had called and asked him to come over; to see which colour he should paint the designated feature wall in the bedroom. Despite knowing the fire fighter well enough to know that whatever had him worked up wasn't about paint, Tommy went along with it, figuring that the real reason would reveal itself sooner or later, and knowing Evan, it would be the former.
"Alright, well why don't you show me the wall, and the colour swatches and we'll go from there…hm?"
"Yup, good idea, babe!" Evan said overly cheerful, and hurried to lead him to the master bedroom, not that he needed to be lead, he'd been there plenty of times.
Everything looked the same as the last time he'd been there two days previous, except there was something twined around the ceiling lights, what-?
"So I got a bunch of swatches," Evan held up at least 3 shades of every colour of the rainbow on little pieces of cardboard like a fan, "and I'm liking the blues, but I need a second opinion…" he talked fast as he met Tommy in the middle of the room, right under the lights…
"Evan…" Tommy stopped where he was, eyes darting to the roof, and just as he suspected it would, the truth became apparent, "did you hang mistletoe here on purpose and then make up a reason for me to come over?"
"Uhm…no, psshh, why would I do something cheesy like that?" Buck glanced away sheepishly, hand already rubbing the back of his neck anxiously.
"Maybe because you hoped I would kiss you under it…which wouldn't be cheesy at all, in fact I'd be very amenable to it," Tommy commented, a slight smile tipping up the side of his lips. Evan was adorable when he was unsure about what he was doing romance wise.
Cheeks flaming, Evan gave him a shy smile back that said that he knew he was caught, "Alright, you got me, um…but it's not just about a kiss…it's kind of an early Christmas present," he set down the swatches on the nearest surface, and reached into the pocket of his jeans as he spoke, pulling out a keyring, and holding it up between them, the metal glinted in the unnatural lighting.
Oh. Dangling from the ring was a single key.
"I have a really bad habit of moving things too quickly in relationships, and I'm trying to not do that with you, so I hope that it's not too much, but I feel like things are going great between us, and you're staying over more and more, so I, uh, I thought, y'know…that maybe it would be good for you to have your own key…"
Evan looked at him with his big puppy eyes, clearly awaiting a response, and Tommy melted. Pulling Evan in by the shoulder and cupping his jaw with the other hand, he kissed his boyfriend passionately, feeling Evan relax into it and kiss him back just as enthusiastically.
"So, uh," Evan licked his lips, "that's a positive response, right?"
Instead of speaking, Tommy smiled fondly and took the key from Evan's hand. Pulling out his own set of keys from his pocket, he made a show of attaching it, showing it to Evan, and then putting it back in his pocket.
"Yeah, babe," he chuckled, nodding, and then caught his boyfriend's lips in another kiss.
"Mmmh…good," it was nice to see Evan relaxed and happy again.
"You were joking about painting your wall blue though, right?" Tommy teased after a beat.
"I mean…I kind of like it now I've actually looked at it," he laughed, he was so pretty when he laughed.
"Of course you do," and Tommy just knew that the next weekend he'd be there helping his boyfriend paint his wall blue.
