Chapter 37
— Many mortals envy Heroes for their power. However, no one understands that they very rarely have the gift of choice, since their destiny is marked from the moment they are born —
Fragment of the prologue of the book «Heroes, Blessing, or curse?» written by Tolfdir.
Aurbis 5E
The multicolored sky of the immortal plane illuminated a massive stone tower so white it glowed like a candle in the dark. The design of the tower was exquisite and there were no words that could describe the beauty that it radiated. In the middle of a highly decorated room on the top floor of the tower, there was a circular table made of polished white marble and sitting around said table were eight individuals. All these individuals were inhumanly beautiful, beyond the reach of a mortal.
"Now that we're all here, let's begin our meeting." Akatosh said looking at his fellow Aedras. "I'll start by telling you the reason why I requested your presence as soon as you can."
The other seven sons of Anu nodded as they looked at the eldest of them all.
"A few days ago, a great power signature was felt throughout our universe. This power signature is unlike anything we have ever felt, and its very presence in that instant caused the currents of time to be thrown into disarray and a Dragon Breaker almost created."
The eight remaining Gods looked at Akatosh in surprise, for while there were times when the currents of time became disordered, that was only momentary and something that Akatosh himself could easily control. However, now the most powerful Aedra today tells them that the power that was felt is something with such monstrous potential as to eliminate one of the primal forces that sustains life in this universe.
"Akatosh, what kind of energy did you feel? Anuica? Daedric?" Stendarr asked seriously.
The god of mercy was worried, as Akatosh was using a very serious tone of voice that he had rarely used since the battle against Lorkhan in the dawn era. Stendarr had the appearance of a man no older than thirty with ash blonde hair, which was long and had several braids in it, on his face there was also a long beard braided into a single braid. His skin was white, the same shade as a Nord and his eyes were golden. His attire consisted of a blue robe with gold accents, along with a blue cape. Furthermore, his arms and legs were protected by golden armor decorated with patterns unknown to mortals.
"I do not know." Akatosh replied with regret, for he did not know the answer.
"How you do not know?!" Arkay asked with a hint of panic in his voice. Arkay had the appearance of a middle-aged man with white hair along with a slightly messy bushy beard on his face. He was dressed in two robes, one dark brown, with a red robe with gold details on top of the first. Also, on his shoulders hung a brown cape. His feet were protected by a pair of simple sandals.
"The energy is one that I have never felt in my long life. But I am sure of one thing, it is definitely not Anuica." Akatosh answered seriously as he looked at his "brother".
Arkay looked away a little embarrassed, it wasn't like him to lose his temper like that.
"I'm sorry, brother." Arkay apologized.
Akatosh shook his head, as he understood why the god of life and death was so anxious and worried. After all, if the currents of time were affected, almost all the spheres that represented the Gods and the Daedric Princes were also affected.
"So it's not Anuica, is it? So does that mean she's Daedric?" Arkay asked looking at Akatosh again. "Can any of the Princes be the cause?"
"Nope. While the energy is very similar to Daedric, it is very different. Well, it is more chaotic and destructive."
"That is worrisome. I have no record of any such energy. But that can be understood because I was born after you. But the fact that even you don't know what it is worries me a lot." Julianos said.
Julianos is the god of wisdom and logic. He had the appearance of a young man with slightly long blond hair with a slightly long beard that was well groomed and maintained. He wore a simple brown robe with a green cloak with gold details.
"I guess you have some theories, right?" Kynareth asked.
Kynareth, the goddess of nature, had the appearance of a pale woman with long hair of a light blue shade, almost bordering on white. Her body was very well proportioned, as she had a large bust and wide hips. Also, it could be seen that her arms and legs were covered in blue tattoos with wind designs. Furthermore, her eyes were blue whose intensity of color varied according to the emotions of the goddess. Her clothing consisted of a blue tunic with white borders, which had openings on both sides, allowing her shapely legs to be seen. Finally, on her feet there was no type of footwear, because she liked to walk and feel the soft grass on her feet.
"Nope. And I was making theories and hypotheses during the time between the pulse of power and yesterday. But I have not been able to reach a logical conclusion that allows me to find the solution." Akatosh answered regretfully.
"That is so weird. Your failure to figure this out is unheard of, Akatosh." Dibella said putting a friendly smile on her face.
The goddess of beauty lived up to her title, as she was a very beautiful young woman who had a heart-stopping voluptuous body with large breasts, wide hips and a slim waist. Her hair is snow white in color and was long enough to cover her generous breasts. The rest of her body, which was not covered by her hair, was covered by a very scant white transparent cloth, which only covered the important parts.
"Dibella is right. How come you haven't managed to find a solution?" Zenithar asked.
Zenithar is the god of work and commerce. He had the appearance of a middle-aged man with tanned skin, the same shade blacksmiths have from continuous exposure to the heat of the forge. His hair was brown, and he was tied in several small braids decorated with gold rings at the end of each braid. Also, he had a short beard with a large mustache that had gold rings at each end. He wore simple leather armor with brown pants along with leather boots and bracers.
"The energy is something I never felt. Also, I haven't been able to find records of her in any of the eras that have passed. And believe me, brother, I have already searched all the records I have in my library."
"I understand, that's why you were so worried when I came to visit you that day." Mara said looking at Akatosh. And it is that that same day in which the pulse of power was felt, Mara had unexpectedly arrived at Akatosh's palace and found him walking nonstop from one side to the other in his library muttering in a low voice. However, despite Akatosh's low tone of voice, she was able to hear one word very clearly... Edzard.
"Now that I remember correctly, in the middle of your internal monologue you mentioned Edzard's name more than once. Akatosh, what does your last child have to do with this?"
Following Mara's words, the eyes of the remaining divines fell on Akatosh, who only sighed before speaking. "The power signature arose in the world that Aurbis is now connected to."
Akatosh's words made everyone look at him in amazement.
"Are you sure?" Arkay asked.
"Yes. I'm sure of that."
"So, that power that can threaten us comes from Draconic Deus?" Zenithar asked.
"But the most powerful being in that world, isn't that giant red dragon?" Dibella asked in confusion, as they had all seen Akatosh's beating of Great Red firsthand.
Akatosh nodded in response.
"Then, has a being of greater power arisen there?" Stendarr asked.
"Either that or one of Evie Etoulde's gods has gotten there and is causing a bit of trouble." Arkay opined.
"I do not think so." Akatosh said drawing everyone's attention. "Despite their power, the gods of Evie Etoulde do not know how to reach Draconic Deus. So the only way they would make it is if they received help from some being from the Draconic Deus. And I really hope there is no one stupid enough to do it. After all, the most powerful being in the Draconic Deus has a very good chance of dying easily if he fights against any of Evie Etoulde's gods."
"So, if it isn't that. What else can it be?" Julianos asked looking at his older brother.
"It is possible that someone managed to get a bit of power from Aurbis and somehow managed to assimilate it." Akatosh answered seriously.
Akatosh's words shocked the rest of the Aedras, who all looked shocked and disbelieving.
"H-how is that possible?" Kynareth asked with concern.
"Under normal conditions it shouldn't be possible, but there are some exceptions." Akatosh replied.
"Name them." Mara said looking at Akatosh.
"The first and the one that I think is the most common is that the body and soul of some mortal has managed to have enough strength to resist the power that it assimilated."
"That's right. Since only they have the potential to assimilate the power of Aetherius and Oblivion. Of course, by doing so, they risk dying in a horrible way. After all, his body is different from that of Nirm's mortals. Furthermore, the gods of the Draconic Deus are so different from us that it is impossible for them to obtain the power of Aurbis without disintegrating safely."
"We understand, now... what's the second one?" Mara asked.
"That the one who assimilates the power is a hybrid born from the union of a mortal from Nirm and one from Earth."
"Oh. Like Little Ed's pretty wife?" Dibella asked clapping her hands in excitement as a big smile appeared on her face. "Although I suppose that's a very rare thing, right?"
"That's right." Akatosh responded with a smile as he thought of his daughter-in-law. "Because they are born out of Aurbis, these hybrids don't have access to its full power, but they can reverse that if they assimilate a little power from Aurbis. Also, I don't think that was the cause of the pulse that was felt, since we only have a record of little Asia. Other than her, there are no other known hybrids."
"And the last one?" Kynareth asked.
"May Edzard willingly give you some of his blood." Akatosh replied as he sighed internally, as he knew that what he had said would cause a stir among his brothers and sisters.
All of the Aedras, save Mara, looked at Akatosh in surprise at what they had heard. The silence created by Akatosh's words was such that one could hear the footsteps of someone using a walking spell without making a sound.
"W-w-wait… A-are you telling us that you gave your son the ability to give that kind of power, just like that?!" Julianos yelled with a mark on his forehead due to the anger he felt. The reason for this anger was not the power Edzard had received, but rather the fact that Akatosh never mentioned it to any of them.
"Yes. Why?"
"Are you an idiot or what?!" Kynareth yelled, causing everyone to look at her in surprise, as she never used to yell and insult anyone when she got angry.
"S-sister. Calm down." Akatosh said with a bit of fear in his voice, because even though he was the most powerful of all the Aedras, that doesn't mean that he wasn't afraid of his sisters when they got angry.
"No sister! What did you think giving that power to Edzard!?"
"Kynareth, calm down."
Kynareth looked at Mara and was shocked to see her sister with a black aura surrounding her. So, swallowing hard, she decided that it would be best to keep quiet.
"Now listen everyone. This was not Akatosh's fault." Mara said drawing the attention of the Aedras. "Young Edzard gained that ability after becoming Dovah. This was because he still had some werewolf blood coursing through his system. And that is what allows him to transform other beings into a kind of pseudo-hybrids."
Mara's words managed to calm things down. However, before they could speak again, a pulse of power was felt that sent shivers down their spines. Also, apart from scaring the Aedras, the pulse of power was such that it caused the tower to tremble.
The Aedras looked around frantically, for that power was dark, brutal, and utterly terrifying.
"A-Akatosh. T-this is the power you felt?" asked Dibella trembling with fear.
"That's right." Akatosh responded by clenching his fists to calm his body, which, like the other Aedras, was also trembling. Unfortunately, as much as he tried, the Dragon God of Time could not control his body. It was as if his very existence feared that power.
"I-I really understand why you were so worried now." Arkay said between breaths. "For a moment I felt my connection to my domain disappear."
The rest of the Aedras nodded, for they felt the same.
"How do you plan to find out the source of this power's origin?" a calmer Kynareth asked, as she felt her body return to normal.
"I plan to have three of my sons and two of my daughters travel to Draconic Deus and meet Edzard there." Akatosh replied.
"Is that wise?" Mara asked with concern.
"I do not know. But it's the only solution I can think of for now." Akatosh responded taking Mara's hand.
"When would they leave approximately?" Julianos asked looking at his brother.
"Maybe in a few more months. I still need to finish some things so that they can travel safely and not run into Great Red."
Everyone nodded and began to talk about the possible origin of that pulse of power.
Draconic Deus XXXX
A gentle breeze blew through the pocket kingdom that Edzard had created. The midday sun lit up the palace while Lint, Aika, Mittelt and Valerie sat on one of the balconies, this one had one of the best views of the lake and its surroundings. The girls were dressed in casual clothes, since they were on a day off, they were all sitting on chairs next to a carved table with a large umbrella that covered them from the sun.
"Ahhh." Lint heaved a tired sigh, as she hadn't been able to sleep much in recent weeks, which was corroborated by the dark circles under her eyes.
"Are you tired, Lint-san?" Asia's voice was heard, who entered through the door that connected the balcony with the palace tower. In her hands was a tray, which held a pitcher, glasses, and some plates. In addition, at the foot of her mother, as if she were a shadow, was Marie, who carried a large paper bag in her arms.
"Yes. I haven't been able to sleep much these past few days." Lint said with a tight smile on her face as she in her mind spoke to herself. 'And it's all your fault.'
Lint thought that because she had made a big mistake. This mistake was moving from her original room to one closer to the main room, since initially her room had been in the middle area of the available rooms. However, she felt that she was too far away from the rest of the group, so she asked the maids to help her move her belongings.
The maids had asked her more than once if she was sure, and she had said yes. So at the end of that day, she was in the room next to little Marie's. Unfortunately, it was on that night that she understood why the maids asked her if she was sure to move to that room, as she couldn't sleep a wink thanks to the moans that came from the main room.
'I had to listen to them go like beasts in heat every night.' Lint thought, blushing as certain images came to mind. And it is that she had made a second big mistake… passing near that room during the love encounters of Edzard and his lovers. When she did that, she saw that the door was poorly closed, so her curiosity caused her to start spying on them. Her eyes widened when the first thing she saw was Edzard moving his hips and having sex with Mittelt, who was on all fours. However, Edzard was not only having sex with the fallen angel, but he was also kissing Asia on her lips at the same time he was groping one of her breasts.
The scene accompanied by Mittelt's lascivious moans made Lint's body feel very hot. In fact, she was so hot that she unconsciously moved her hands and brought them closer to her crotch and one of her breasts. Fortunately, Lint was able to come to her senses and realizing what she was about to do, she ran towards the bedroom. When she was there, she went into her private bathroom and took a cold shower. After managing to calm down, she went to pray at the church in order to remove from her mind the memories of what she had witnessed.
"You should try to sleep and not go looking at other people's rooms." Mittelt said with a mocking smile on her face.
Those words made Lint look away as she blushed with embarrassment.
"Looking at other people's rooms?" Asia asked not understanding what Mittelt meant.
"Yes, the little dove has been looking in other rooms and ended up seeing something she shouldn't have and almost turned into a crow."
Lint began to get irritated as she heard Mittelt teasing her. However, she decided to do nothing, as the difference in power between the two was still wide and if they fought there, the battle would end with her being defeated by Mittelt.
Asia blinked for a few seconds, not understanding the teasing. So deciding to stop thinking about it, she left the tray on the table and sat next to her friends while she sat her daughter on her lap.
"How's the training going, Lint-san?" Asia asked as she poured some of the iced tea that was in the pitcher into two glasses. When she was done, she handed one of the glasses to Marie. After that, she opened the paper bag and placed the cookies that were inside the bag on some plates.
"Don't remind me, please." Lint said as she sprawled across the table with her arms outstretched. "It is exhausting. Even more than the training I received in heaven. I never thought that Ed would be so strict and brutal when it came to training."
"The training may seem brutal, but it's the best way to make you stronger." Asia said as she poured Lint a glass of tea. "Besides, everyone here went through similar training."
Lint raised her head and looked at all the girls, who, except for Marie who was still eating cookies without paying attention to anything else, nodded.
"Really?"
"Yes. I was the one who had it the worst, because I was a normal human before, so I had to learn everything from scratch." Aika responded by taking a cookie and then taking a bite.
"Yes, but that doesn't mean that both Mittelt and I had it easy. Edzard made us swallow dirt every day." Valerie said as a shiver ran down her spine as she remembered her training.
After those words, Lint stopped looking at them and her gaze fell on Asia.
"My training was different, as I was trained by Aela, a member of the Companions, and by Serana, a vampire." Asia said seeing Lint looking at her. "My training was hellish. In fact, I was tempted to throw in the towel and stop training just in the first few days, but in the end, I decided to continue training. It was there, while spending my days training in Jorrvaskr's training arena that I began to understand more and more what kind of world Nirm was. That world was not fit for a nun who just wants to heal someone… no, it was there that I understood that if I am not willing to kill, then I will not be able to protect the ones I love."
After those words, Asia gently ran her hand through Marie's hair, earning a glance from her daughter. Seeing her little girl looking at her, Asia came over and gave her a soft kiss on the forehead. This action caused Marie to smile before returning to continue eating her cookies in silence.
Lint looked at Asia and felt a little sad, as she had seen the records kept of Asia in the Vatican and knew that the ex-nun had changed a lot. As far as she knew, Asia had originally been a sweet girl unable to kill a fly, but now she was able to kill an entire army with no problem, luckily, she hadn't stopped being the kind soul she was in the past, otherwise she was more than certain that many churches would have been burned to the ground.
"How was your training?" Lint asked, curious to know how Asia's training went.
"Brutal. Every day I ended up with broken bones, my magic reserves at zero, my body covered in bruises and contusions." Asia replied as she remembered what her training with her friends had been like.
Flashback
"Wagg." Asia spit out a large amount of blood on the ground. She was currently on her knees while beside her was her training sword and shield.
"We have to stop for today. Your body won't resist anymore." Aela said looking at how Asia tried in vain to get up, because she could tell that her body was on its last legs.
"N-n-no. I-I can c-go on." Asia said with difficulty as she returned to spit out another bit of blood. Her body ached like she had never felt before. Her arms were purple, her legs were shaking, and her breathing was becoming erratic. But even so, she would not give up. She had to keep going to get stronger.
"No, Asia. You are very injured. Your body won't hold out much longer." Serana said approaching her friend.
Asia gritted her teeth and moving her hands, used a restoration spell to heal herself. Her body was enveloped in a golden light and after a few moments her wounds were completely healed. Feeling better, Asia stood up and took the wooden weapon from her before taking a fighting stance.
Aela and Serana blinked in amazement at their friend's determination. After seeing that, they both nodded and smiled.
"You really want to get strong so you can keep up with Ed and not feel like a burden, right?" Aela asked before taking an attack stance. "Then, I will fulfill your wish and make sure that you become stronger."
After that, Aela charged at Asia with the intention of attacking with everything she had.
End flashback
Asia ended up having a chill when remembering how that training session ended, because that day she ended up with several broken bones and Edzard had to heal her and take care of her for two days in a row. Shaking her head, she decided to stop dwelling on the past and refocus on the present.
"You really had a worse time than us, right?" Lint asked with wide eyes seeing how Asia had suffered a chill and she had trembled.
"You have no idea, but the results cannot be denied." Asia replied as she took a handkerchief and wiped Marie's face, whose face was covered with many crumbs from the cookies she had been eating.
"Yes, that can be seen. After all you are one of the most powerful of the group, being surpassed only by Edzard, since if you fight with Tiamat in your Balance Breaker, it is possible that they end in a draw. And if you use that sword, well, Ed will need another secretary." Aika said with a smile as she looked at her friend.
"Speaking of Edzard, did he also have a training like we did?" Lint asked curiously.
The girls immediately looked at Asia, since she was the closest to Edzard and who had also lived with him in Tamriel, so it was very likely that she knew that information.
Asia moved a bit uncomfortably when she saw that they were looking at her, but after a few seconds, she decided to reply.
"I don't know much about that, since Ed doesn't like to talk about his past much." Asia replied as she tucked a sleepy Marie into her arms.
"How is that?" Mittelt asked with confusion, because she didn't understand how Asia, who had lived with Edzard the longest, didn't know much about his past.
"Ed doesn't talk much about his past because he doesn't like to remember those times. But from what little I have been told by Aela, Tolfdir, and Brynjolf, Edzard was also put through rigorous training, though unlike us, he made it through those trainings and only suffered minor injuries the first few days of said trainings."
"Wow. Really that's amazing. So Edzard was so good at fighting that he hardly needed any training." Valerie said in amazement.
"That is true to a certain extent."
"How so, Asia?" Aika asked curiously.
"While we've told you a lot about the heroes of the Elder Scrolls, there are some things we haven't finished telling you." Asia replied causing the girls to gasp in surprise and making them curious. Seeing that the girls were curious, Asia decided to continue. "Aside from special ability, all heroes have one very essential trait, and that is adaptability."
"Adaptability?" Lint asked confused as she put a hand to her chin.
"Yes, Adaptability. This is the trait that all heroes possess, and it is what allows them to adapt to their surroundings in order to improve their abilities as quickly as possible in order to fulfill their destiny. That is what makes them become so powerful in such a short time."
"I understand. So that's why he became so powerful in such a short time." Mittelt said with a hand to her chin as she remembered that Edzard had told them that he had increased his power exponentially in just one year of his journey.
Asia nodded in response to what Mittelt said.
"Speaking of Edzard, where is he?" Lint asked, as she hadn't seen Edzard all day.
"He's looking for clues about the Khaos Brigade in the Leviathan Clan's territory." Asia replied. "He already searched the other territories of the previous Maous and hasn't found anything."
"Wow. And how did they get Ed to help them this time?" Valerie asked.
"They have offered him some things." Asia replied.
"What things?" Aika asked curiously to know what she had been offered to her lover this time.
"I don't know, he hasn't told me anything about it."
Lint looked at the conversation confused, so, to find out for sure, she decided to ask. "Girls, why are the three factions offering something to Edzard for his help?"
Asia looked at Lint and understood that she didn't know the conditions of Edzard's adherence to Kuoh's pact.
"Lint-san. The pact only makes Edzard give them help with issues related to the Daedras, if it's other types of problems, they will have to pay him something. Of course, it's not money, but he asks for information of a certain kind or to help him in the creation of certain objects."
Lint nodded understanding what was happening. And it is that, a part of her was very worried that Edzard asked for things like money or that kind of thing, but apparently, he only asked for information and collaboration on projects.
After that, the conversation turned to more trivial topics.
While the girls were having a friendly chat on the balcony of the palace, Edzard was walking through some hills in the former territory of the Leviathan clan. He was currently alone, because Tiamat, who had decided to accompany him on this walk, was with Ajuka helping him with some things. Seeing that his familiar was very busy, Edzard decided to go alone to continue exploring the territories of the former Maous clans.
'Ahh. I can't believe I let that idiot Azazel talk me into helping them again. Fortunately, I was able to get them to let me keep several of the items and riches I found.' Edzard thought as he stopped in a clearing. Feeling hungry, he decided to rest. So, walking to a rock and sitting down, he took a bottle of soda and a couple of sandwiches for lunch out of his bag.
'You can tell that this has been cooked by Asia.' Edzard thought as he tasted the first bite, managing to recognize the characteristic flavor of the food that his wife prepared. After eating, he decided to rest a few minutes.
After his break, Edzard kept walking for several more hours as he explored the entire place. He carried a map in his hands, as this was the best way in which he could locate himself in this place.
"I have already mapped more than twenty percent of this territory." Edzard said as he finished marking the area he was in on the map. "I guess I could finish here for today. After all, there is no rush to finish mapping the place."
Having made that decision, Edzard started to walk to find a quiet place to use his shadowkey but stopped abruptly when his nose caught a subtle scent. The scent was a mix between what you could smell in a hospital and a damp cave.
After picking up the scent, Edzard thought for a few seconds what to do. In the end, his adventurous impulse made him start looking for the source of the smell. When he found it, he started running towards that place.
'What's there?' Edzard wondered as he approached the source of the scent. When he arrived, he could see that there was a small entrance covered with moss and lichen under a very high hill. The place was surrounded by some trees, which made it a very difficult place to spot from the sky. So, wasting no time, he unsheathed the short steel sword from his belt and began to cut through the lichens that blocked his path. After entering the facility, Edzard continued walking through the winding corridors inside.
After walking for more than an hour and having checked several of the rooms that made up the enclosure, Edzard finally reached the last room there was.
'This place is very well kept, so it is possible that there are still people coming here on a regular basis.' Edzard thought as he moved his right hand and took the hilt of his sword to be ready in case there was any surprise attack. After all, if the place is still in good condition, it means there is someone living there, and he didn't know if it was an enemy.
Opening the door, Edzard saw a very spacious white room where there were several devices that he recognized as the demonic version of life support devices used by humans in their hospitals. Furthermore, in the center of the room was a bed with a person lying on it. So, removing his hand from his sword, he began to walk towards the bed and upon reaching it he could see that the person resting there was a beautiful girl with long purple hair, whose body was covered by a white sheet.
"What is a girl doing here?" Edzard asked looking at the girl, who seemed to be in a deep sleep. Trying to find information about her, Edzard began searching all over the place for something that would tell him what the girl's name was.
After several minutes, he was finally able to find a folder with information about the girl. After reading the content, he managed to learn that the girl's name was Ingvild Leviathan. Reading that name, Edzard deduced that she was related to Katerea. He also discovered that the reason why she was asleep was due to the Sleep Disease, a disease that, according to what he had managed to learn from some books he had obtained from the Sitri, only affected some devils, and caused them to fall into a deep sleep.
Placing the folder on a table, Edzard walked over to the bed. Arriving at the devil's side, he reached out his hand and touched Ingvild's forehead to move a few strands of her hair. However, the instant he touched Ingvild, Edzard felt a pulse of energy rise from his hand to his head. This made him withdraw his hand quickly and then bring his other hand to his temple to calm the headache he just got.
'Ugh. Damn, this feels like the time I fell asleep on Raven Rock and ended up being enslaved by Miraak that night.' Edzard thought as he gritted his teeth and used some restoration magic to ease the pain in his head. When the pain subsided, he moved closer to Ingvild and put a hand to his chin. 'How did you do that? Do you have a Sacred Gear or some special ability?'
Edzard began to think about it for a few more minutes. In the end, he opted for the first, as it was the most feasible, since after rereading Ingvild's medical history, he managed to discover that she was a half devil, so she would be something like Vali Lucifer. So, to check this, he used the vision of the tenth eye.
'It seems that I was right. She has a sacred gear. And a very powerful one because of the aura it emits.' Thought Edzard when he saw the sacred Gear that Ingvild possessed. Although unlike Asia and Valerie's, which had a ring and cup shape respectively, this one seemed like a mass of energy that swirled through Ingvild's body, but with the peculiarity of being amplified in her vocal cords and in her eyes.
"It would be nice if you woke up to answer my questions, but unfortunately I don't know of a way to remove the Sleep Disease and even the devils currently haven't managed to find a cure or treatment either." Edzard said getting ready to call Azazel and ask them to bring someone to take the girl out of here. However, when he was about to do it he had a crazy idea. "I wonder. Would you wake up if I give you my blood?"
Edzard thought about that question, because he didn't know what changes this action could cause in the half-devil, because unlike Aika, she wasn't completely human. In the end, he decided to do it, because he had nothing to lose, besides, if the half devil was a possible enemy and she died, he was doing everyone a favor. So, without hesitation, he bit his wrist, and a large amount of blood was drawn. Seeing that the girl couldn't swallow it normally, he decided to give it to her mouth to mouth. So, coming close, he captured Ingvild's lips and gave her his blood to drink.
In the first seconds after giving her his blood, Edzard saw that nothing was happening. However, when he was about to decide to call Azazel, Ingvild's body began to move erratically. This was thanks to the large number of spasms she was having. Seeing this, Edzard jumped on her to prevent the girl from inadvertently hurting herself.
Edzard was holding Ingvild's body for several minutes. During this time, he heard the half devil's bones sound like they were breaking. In the end, when the girl's body stopped moving, Edzard looked at her face and saw how she opened her eyes slowly.
Ingvild began to open her eyes slowly, her lids feeling heavy. Also, that wasn't the only part of her body that felt weird, because if she was honest with herself, her whole body felt weird. She didn't know how to explain it, but it seemed that her illness was completely outside of her body, as she didn't feel at all the weakness and drowsiness that had accompanied her since she contracted the Sleep Disease.
As she opened her eyes, she began to look around her. She saw many things and they all seemed to be medical equipment. After seeing the equipment, she began to look around for someone she knew. However, it was not a familiar face that she saw, but rather a young man about her age who looked at her curiously. The young man was attractive and had short black hair, green eyes with cross pupils and a small silver earring in his left ear.
'W-who is he? Why is he here?' Thought Ingvild looking the young man in the eye.
"I see you have awakened, Ingvild Leviathan." The young man said in a calm voice as he stared at her.
Ingvild widened her eyes in surprise, not expecting this young man to know her name, but before panicking, she thought maybe he was a servant of the Leviathan clan. So, that would be the correct answer, but before she could say anything to him, he beat her to it.
"It seems like you're confused, so I'd better introduce myself before I continue talking. My name is Edzard Cumberland Rolandson. And I am a member of the Kuoh pact."
'Kuoh pact?' Ingvild thought confused, as it was the first time she had heard of this.
"W-what is Kuoh's pact?" Ingvild asked confused. "I-I never heard of such a pact."
"I'm not surprised, since you've been asleep for a hundred years." Edzard answered simply and directly.
The answer given by Edzard made Ingvild's eyes widen in surprise, and then sadness showed on her face.
'H-hundred a-years? So...' Ingvild thought as a tear began to run down her face. She was devastated inside with this news, as it told her that her adoptive parents had died long ago.
Ingvild began to cry silently at first, but after a few seconds she began to moan in sadness, and later began to cry at the top of her lungs. As she let go of all the pain, she felt upon intuiting that her adoptive parents were possibly dead, she felt someone put a hand on her shoulder. So, turning her head slowly, Ingvild saw Edzard looking at her with concern.
"What is it, Ingvild?" Edzard asked with a lot of concern in his voice.
Ingvild looked at Edzard for a few seconds, she didn't know what was happening, but seeing the concern in his eyes she felt that she could trust him. So, with that in mind, she decided to tell him what was going on. When she finished telling him everything, she did something very crazy. She did not know why she did it, maybe it was the look he gave her, because it was not only a look of compassion, but it was also one of understanding. That added to the maelstrom of feelings that passed through her chest made her decide to hug him. When she realized what she did, she expected him to move away, but to her surprise the opposite happened, as he returned her hug and began gently rubbing her back and head while whispering comforting words.
When Ingvild finished crying, she walked away from Edzard.
"T-thank you for that." Ingvild said as she finished drying her tears.
"You're welcome." Edzard replied as he stood in front of Ingvild. "Are you feeling better now?"
"Yes, thank you very much. Really thank you very much." Ingvild responded quickly and startled, as she thought that Edzard was angry or at least upset about the hug.
"Quiet. I am not angry or upset."
Ingvild was startled by Edzard's words.
"H-h-how…"
"How do I know? That's easy, you're very easy to read." Edzard interrupted Ingvild.
Those words made Ingvild blush with embarrassment and start looking at her hospital gown.
Silence fell as the two stood facing each other. However, this was broken when Ingvild, who stopped looking at her hospital gown, decided to ask Edzard the question that had been on her mind ever since she found out that it had been a hundred years since she began to sleep. "Edzard-san. Can I ask you for a small favor?"
Edzard agreed.
"What has happened in these hundred years that I have been asleep?"
Edzard looked at her for a few seconds and then began to tell her how little he knew about what had happened in the last hundred years in this world.
In the center of a richly decorated room in Lucifer's palace in the city of Lilith, Edzard and Sirzechs sat facing each other.
"So, a descendant of the original Leviathan." Said Sirzechs as he put a hand to his temple, since he already imagined the political problems, this would cause. "Tell me, Edzard-kun. Where did you find it?"
"In some kind of underground hospital-bunker in the area controlled by the Leviathan Clan."
"I see. Did you find anyone in the other three territories?" Sirzechs asked worried that there were more descendants of the original maous.
"Nope. Just some documents and treasures, but no living person." Edzard answered remembering what he had found on the land that he had already completely mapped.
"I understand. I guess now comes the hard part. What to do with Ingvild?"
After those words, the two fell silent thinking about what to do with the half devil.
"So, Sirzechs. What ideas do you have?" Edzard asked, breaking the silence of the room.
"I have many, but almost all of them end with Ingvild drawn into political disputes." Sirzechs replied.
"You said almost, so I take it there is one that won't cause any political trouble, right?"
"That's right. Although it is a good option, to materialize it needs the authorization of the leader." Sirzechs replied cryptically with an amused smile on his face.
Sirzechs' reply made the hairs on the back of Edzard's neck stand up. Looking at the super devil, Edzard understood what he was planning. So, taking a hand to his face, he decided to speak.
"I really hope you're not planning what I think you are."
Sirzechs's smile widened as he realized he wouldn't have to explain anything to Edzard. He really liked this about Edzard, because when talking to him it was not necessary to go around the bush or give many explanations, since he managed to decipher almost everything with ease.
"You are crazy. You know that my group is dedicated to closing the portals to Oblivion that appear in this world. She will be in danger constantly."
"I know. But she is not as weak as you think." Sirzechs said looking at Edzard. "I know you felt it. She has a large amount of demonic power, more than the other descendants of the original Maous had."
Edzard only looked at Sirzechs for a few seconds until he ended up nodding, since he had seen Ingvild's level of power when he saw her sacred gear. And Sirzechs was right, she was not weak, so, sighing, he decided to accept, since he understood why Sirzechs did it. It was not only to keep Ingvild away from politics, but with this there was also a devil in his group, thus making all three factions have a representative there.
"So, with this closed. How about we talk about something else?" Sirzechs asked looking at Edzard and handing him a folder.
"What is this?" Edzard asked as he took the folder. As he began to read it, his eyes widened in surprise and then he let out a weary sigh. "Seriously?"
Sirzechs agreed.
Heaving a sigh again, Edzard leaned back on the sofa and after a few seconds he spoke. "Okay, I'll help you. But it will cost you."
The sunset painted the sky of Kuoh orange while Edzard and Ingvild were walking calmly through the streets of the town. It had already been two days since the two of them met in the underworld and right now they were about to head to Edzard's palace, but before going, he had to gather some information from one of Azazel's contacts. So, that's why they were both headed to an antique store.
As they walked through the streets, Ingvild was deep in thought. She never expected to be received well in the underworld due to her origin as a half-devil and her lineage, which had caused certain problems. However, she was shocked when she was received in a good way by the current Lucifer. After entering the palace, she was taken to the bathroom and then to the dining room where while dinner was taking place, Sirzechs told her everything that he had decided about her future.
'I must admit that I was very surprised when they told me about the daedras and especially when they mentioned the group led by Edzard… A group that is made up of his lovers and an angel.' Ingvild thought with a bit of concern, since she had not met these people and she did not know what they would think of a half devil joining them.
"Stop thinking so much, Ingvild. They won't do anything to you. In fact, you might have a welcome party for your admission." Edzard said after noticing that Ingvild had a very noticeable look of concern on her face.
"A-Are you s-sure?" Ingvild asked looking at Edzard.
"That's right. I know them and I know they won't hate you for being a half-devil or being a relative of Katerea. In fact, my wife is also a hybrid."
"Seriously. Who are her parents?" asked Ingvild hoping to find someone like her.
"A human and a Breton."
"A human from High Rock, right?" Ingvild asked as she recalled the information she had learned over dinner.
"That's how it is. She is the first recorded hybrid between an Earth human and a Nirmnian." Edzard replied.
"I see. I hope she and I can get along." Ingvild said with a friendly smile on her face.
"I'm sure you two will." Edzard said with conviction as he smiled at Ingvild.
After that conversation, both continued walking until they reached the store where Azazel's contact was.
"Listen, Ingvild. I'm going to go talk to the contact, meanwhile you can see the place. If you find something you like, tell me." Edzard said standing at the door of the store.
Ingvild saw Edzard and nodded.
Edzard and Ingvild entered the store and saw that it was full of antiques.
Ingvild noticed that there were silver candlesticks, clocks from several years ago, even some things she had seen in the house she had lived in with her adoptive parents. This made her feel a little sad, but her eyes widened when she saw something specific displayed in one of the store's windows. So, with slow steps, she approached the shop window and reaching out with her right hand, she took the object. When the object was in her hands, she began to run the fingers of her free hand over the surface. The object was cold, but at the same time it conveyed a warm feeling to Ingvild's heart. And the reason for this was that the object, which was a music box, had been a gift from her parents when she was ten years old.
Ingvild was so focused on remembering parts of her past that she didn't notice when Edzard stepped up behind her.
"Looks like you found something you liked."
Ingvild was startled when she heard Edzard's voice, causing her to almost drop the music box.
"E-E-Edzard-san, you scared me." Ingvild said after letting out a sigh to calm down.
"I am sorry. I didn't mean to, but I was surprised to see you looking at that music box so fondly. I guess the box is an object you know well, right?"
Ingvild nodded at Edzard's question. After giving her answer, she felt Edzard take her hand and lead her to the counter. After talking with the owner, Edzard bought the music box.
As they walked to a place with no passersby to travel to Edzard's pocket kingdom, she attempted to apologize to him for making him buy the box for her, but he refused, telling her to take it as a welcome gift. Hearing that, Ingvild gave Edzard a big hug, which was reciprocated by him. When they parted, she watched in amazement as he didn't seem the least bit flustered by the hug. However, she was another story, as she felt his heart beating so fast that it would possibly burst out of his chest at any moment.
'Why is my heart beating so fast?' thought Ingvild watching Edzard walk by. As she watched him advance, she began to understand what she could possibly feel and put a hand to her chest. 'It's not possible... I can't have fallen in love with him so quickly, right?'
She was so deep in thought that she didn't realize that Edzard had advanced several meters and only came to when he yelled at her to hurry up. Shaking her head from side to side, Ingvild managed to snap back to reality. After that, she decided to stop thinking about her feelings for now and then started following Edzard.
Ingvild looked in amazement at her new room, for it was huge. To be honest, she felt very uncomfortable being in this room, as this room was almost as big as the house she lived in with her adoptive parents.
'This is uncomfortable. How am I supposed to feel at home when this room is almost as big as my old house?' Ingvild thought with a bit of panic as she saw the room.
To try to eliminate the discomfort that she felt, she began to store her belongings in the furniture that was in the room. As she arranged things, she was thinking about the little welcome party she had received upon arrival.
'Asia-san and the rest of the girls are amazing. Not only are they strong, but they also have Edzard's affection. I wonder if I can too...' Ingvild thought, but then shook her head, as she began to have bad thoughts.
To dispel those thoughts, she decided to continue organizing her belongings and while she did, she was thinking about what she had learned. From the moment she was given the enchanted Septim coin of hers, she learned under an oath of silence about the power that resided in Edzard's blood. To say that she was surprised was an understatement, for she nearly fainted upon learning that he could bestow immortality as a gift with his blood. There she also learned that it was Edzard's blood that allowed her to wake up.
'The truth is that I'm still a bit in shock knowing that I'm immortal. Besides, I don't know how Edzard got me to drink his blood if I wasn't awake.' Ingvild thought as he remembered how Edzard had mentioned that he had given her his blood and how he had blushed when asked how he did it.
Ingvild also remembered how she met Edzard's little daughter. She would be lying if she said that she didn't feel jealous seeing the little girl, but she quickly brushed those feelings away, and decided to talk to Marie. While they were talking, the little girl mentioned something very strange after seeing her wings.
'I wonder what she meant when she mentioned that Edzard has wings. After all, even though he's a being from another world, he's still a human, right?' Ingvild thought remembering Marie's words, but after thinking for a while, she decided to leave them as the imaginations of a little girl.
After finishing organizing her belongings, she lay down on the bed while putting her music box next to her. Opening the lid, she let the soft melody fill the room. While listening to the music, she closed her eyes to sleep, because tomorrow she had a simulated match against Asia. As she closed her eyes, a smile appeared on her face as she reminisced about the best moments of her past.
The forest that stood to one side of Edzard's palace had gone silent as two people floated in the sky, looking at each other. One of them using her eight devil wings and the other using magic to fly.
"Wow! Stop the train, Asia, Ingvild!" Aika shouted in panic seeing what was happening in front of her, and anyone would have panicked if they saw seven water dragons of more than thirty meters, which were about to be neutralized by seven golden swords the size of intercontinental ballistic missiles.
That scene was the culmination of the simulated combat between Asia and Ingvild. The battle had started just as any normal person would have expected, that is, with Asia dominating the fight most of the time, as unlike Ingvild, she had much more training and experience in combat. While Ingvild had very high demonic power reserves, Asia had higher Magicka reserves than many Nirm mages. This made the battle even in terms of magical potential. Unfortunately for the half-devil, Asia had great control in the use of her power, in addition to the fact that she had more spells.
In the end, the battle was summed up in a coming and going of spells of different destructive levels between both combatants, but all of the above changed when Ingvild managed to create water dragons, as she took advantage of them to force Asia to be on the defensive for a few minutes. minutes. However, the tables were turned again when Asia decided to intersperse her attacks using Nirm spells and regular spells. In the end, she decided to put an end to it using an Extreme Magicka spell, which brought us to the current situation.
"This is getting out of control. If they keep fighting like this, they will end up destroying the whole place." Mittelt said with mock concern as she watched the entire show with a bag of popcorn and a glass of soda in her hands.
"Seriously, are you going to drink and eat while we have a battle that could destroy the palace?" Lint asked as she glanced at Mittelt.
"Of course. Tell me, how many times can you see two people with the power level of an Ultimate-class devil fighting like this?"
"Well... You're right." Lint replied after thinking about Mittelt's words for a few seconds.
"Besides, I don't think Ed would let them destroy the palace, after all, there's his entire collection of books in there." Valerie said with a friendly smile on her face.
"You're right. Besides, it may soon be over. After all, it's almost time for Marie to take her nap and I don't think Ed will let them wake her up with all that noise."
And just as Aika had said, a black sphere stood in the way of both combatants. The sphere exploded and generated a dome that seemed to be made of black mist, which engulfed not only Ingvild and Asia, but his respective spells as well.
Both combatants looked down as their spells disappeared and paled as they saw an angry Edzard standing on top of one of the nearby trees.
Aika, Mittelt, Lint and Valerie started to run away quickly as soon as they saw Edzard's face and as they did, they mentally wished Asia and Ingvild luck.
The sounds of the screams of hundreds of souls and mortal beings being tortured echoed throughout the room as Molag Bal sat on his throne watching each of the tortures take place. Slowly, the Daedric prince began to drink a goblet filled with human blood. He had drained this blood from several virgin women, whom he then desecrated both body and soul.
"My lord."
Bal stopped watching the show when he heard a Xivkyn.
"What news do you bring?" Bal said as he returned to see the tortures that mortals suffered.
"We have managed to obtain a temporary alliance with a god from Draconic Deus."
"I see." Bal said as he finished drinking the contents of the cup in one sip. "What news about the worshipers of Dagon?"
"It seems the forces of the Prince of Destruction are gathering. The reason we still do not know, but it is a matter of time before we discover his plans. In addition, our sect in Draconic Deus has faced that of the Prince of Destruction and we have obtained important victories. However, we have also had many casualties and many mortals have deserted. Fortunately, we have managed to capture many and they are waiting for you."
Bal's face soured and frowned when he heard that, so clucking his tongue in disgust, he got up and started walking towards the dungeons, because that was the only place where those scum could be.
"What news about the Dovahkiin?" Bal asked as he walked through the halls of his palace.
"No news since what was told to you when he confronted slave number one."
Bal put on a smile that seemed the perfect mix between cruelty and mockery upon hearing that.
"I would like to be there when he finds out everything." Bal said as he began to laugh at the thought of the expression Edzard would make.
The Xivkyn said nothing about what his lord said, as he could not contradict Bal's actions, as he was not created to do so.
Bal's laughter only stopped when he reached the doors leading to the dungeons. Walking through the passageways, he reached his destination, the lowest level of the dungeon. The place where deserters and traitors to his cause met. . Upon entering the room, a cruel and sadistic smile appeared on her face as she took up his mace and axe. The cries of the poor idiots who were there began to be heard as the Xivkyn closed the door.
Author's note:
To those who have made it this far, Thanks for reading. Because being honest, I don't know how to write much in English and I'm relying on Google translators and the dictionaries that come with office 2019.
Well… we started with a meeting of Aedras. The eight sons of Anu have met and discussed the power that was felt. Also, yes, the Aedras know about the gods of ExE, as they have also encountered them at the dawn of the origin of Aurbis. And well… I guess you can get an idea of what happened when they met. Now, who will Akatosh send to visit Edzard? Well, I suppose everyone will be able to discover the identity of the three Dovah. Many reunions are coming in future chapters. 😆
Also, Ingvild makes her formal entry into this fic. As you can see, just by entering she is already positioned as one of the strongest in the group, because she has made Asia, who in this fic is very strong, on the defensive. As for her past, well, as far as I've been able to find, there isn't much information on where she was sleeping or how she woke up.
Now, as a final part, I have decided that I will respond to the Reviews that leave me by PM.😅
Well, I apologize for any misspelling. Do not forget to leave a review if you liked the chapter or if there is something that needs to be improved or if you have any questions about the story. Also, if you want to chat by PM, you can also send one. With nothing more to say, until the next chapter.
