Hello everyone, here is CH.12 for you guys! I hope that everyone is well, and I thank all of you for your patience!
At the V's tower, the Vees currently had their annual meeting after the Overlords meeting. Val always had objections about any meeting that took away precious time, which he could spend with his favorite Boytoy Angel, but Velvette insisted on these, and as much as he would have loved to skip it, he was not keen on making an enemy out of Vel, especially after tearing up her best model.
As for Vox, he was always interested in the meetings, and he would have gladly come to the Overlords meeting too, if not for the fact that he was currently working on a project that takes almost all of his time. But in his opinion, it was worth missing out, and he could not wait to show it off during the Extermination.
"So, why did you call us to this meeting Vel? You do know, I still have to film some pieces of art, and there are still some people I have to f-" Val started, only to be interrupted by Velvette.
"Val, shut the fuck up right now, I don't wanna hear another one of your sex stories. This meeting was particularly interesting, as we had a special guest this time around." Vel continued.
"What, did Roy bring one of his chefs again, I fucking told him to contact me when he pulls that shit again-" Vox started to get off topic.
"No Vox, shut up and listen! Our special guest for this meeting was none other than the Princess of hell herself, Charlie Morningstar! She came to the meeting to try and convince those old geezers to fight with her on Extermination Day!" Vel said proudly.
"So, did that Carmine bitch reject her offer like she did back when you suggested it?" Val asked, with a smirk on his face.
Ever since Charlie barged into his porn studio to try and free Angel from his contract, while simultaneously causing thousands of property damage, Valentino was in a sour mood when somebody mentioned the princess of hell. So, if she just happens to be hurt, be it emotionally or physically, his mood would brighten up significantly.
"That's the best part: She managed to convince that Cannibal hag to lend some of her people, while her lapdog somehow convinced Carmine to give them weapons!" Vel stated.
Vox just smiled "That is really good news, as soon as both of them are weakened, we will definitely be able to take over some of their turf. We just have to sit back and enjoy the show."
Velvette was now a bit confused by this statement "W-what do you mean, wait it out? You said I should suggest the plan to the other Overlords, and you will take care of the attack plans."
"Vel, did you really think I wanted to take the fight to the Angels? No, I just wanted them to risk their resources in order for us to gain more territory!" Vox said, a sinister smile plastering his face.
Velvette was taken aback. She was always one to let their power play, especially as an influencer, so it was not uncommon for her to do stuff some people might have considered suicidal. It was one of these stunts she did that actually got her killed in the first place.
Back then, Velvette was speeding down the highway in her very own Aston Martin DB11, which she got from one of her many flings. During the ride, she took selfies all the way, and after a few minutes, she got a "brilliant" idea. While driving she decided to climb out of the window on the drivers seat side, as she wanted to take pictures of herself on the moving vehicle. This proved to be her undoing, as she slipped, and in doing so, kicked the steering wheel. The car spun out of control, and Velvette was violently thrown from the car. One moment, she was flying through the air, and the next, she was in hell.
"Why would we only take small parts of territory? If we were the ones who stop the extermination, we would get everything we could dream of!" Velvette retorted.
Val looked intrigued, but Vox was having none of it. "The whole point of bringing the fight to the Angels was just to trick the other Overlords into wasting resources. Be realistic Vel, there is no chance in besting heaven!"
"There was no chance until this time, and now that we could gain so much more power, you for a cop-out. Is it because you don't want to work with Alastor?" Velvette bore into Vox.
"ENOUGH! I will not hear anymore of your ideas for the Extermination. The Vees will stay out of this fight, and if you get any silly ideas, just remember that I am the one pulling your strings!" Vox shouted with force.
This made Velvette very furious. It was one thing not to use one's power, but she LOATHED the fact, that her powers were somewhat dependent on Vox. Sure, she was still a terrific fashion designer, and her collection was known by anyone, but her main power source was her Social Media Network. It was also the reason why her Collection was so renown.
Vel jumped up and was about to tear up Vox, if not for the fact that she had gun right in her face. Following the arm up to its owner, Valentino was pointing the gun straight at her. Velvette growled, which only seemed to amuse Val more, his red eyes glowing with amusement.
While she was no slouch when it came to fighting, it was clear that Velvette would be no match in this fight, so she wisely, albeit reluctantly, stepped down and retook her seat. Content with her decision, Val put away his gun and sat back down. Vox looked between them for a short while before starting to speak again.
"Now that this is settled, for the Extermination, my research team has constructed a new prototype for home security. It is a shield generator, powered by the blood of the slain Angel Vel brought in. We figured out that the only thing that can hold Angels at bay, is, in fact, their own blood." Vox presented.
Velvette was now very interested. While she knew that Angelic Steel was able to kill Angels with no problems, it was always intriguing to find new ways to fight the heavenly threat. She definitely had to do her own research from now on, just so she cannot be limited by her business partners.
"We will test the prototype during the Extermination at the HQ, so I suggest you should relocate anything valuable to the tower. And before any of the two of you get stupid ideas," Vox was looking at Velvette as he made the statement. "Just remember that I've increased security around my part of the tower. Meeting adjourned!"
The Vees excited the meeting room, all going to their respective quarters. All but Velvette, as she pretended to go to her part, but then suddenly pivoted and went for the labs located in Voxes department. She arrived at the security doors, where 2 imp-like robots were stationed.
Now a regular sinner would not be able to get past these guards without getting killed, and while a powerful sinner could get past, he would not get far without getting swarmed by 20 others of these machines. But for an Overlord, it was a trivial task. Velvette used her phone to establish a connection to the bots and gave them a new set of commands. The robots then just rolled away from the door, and instead went to Voxes room to guard their master.
Vel entered the lab, and it was as she expected. The room was colored in blue hues all over, many screens hanging around for Vox to lump in and out off. But the most important part was the blast door which had assign next to it saying "Prototype". Vevette made her way over really quickly, in hopes of getting in and out as fast as possible.
To her dismay, the door needed a special keycard, which was only in the possession of Vox and his Head researcher, which was at this time a certain Baxter. SO, Velvette did a rather drastic action- she focused her power into her phone and threw it to the ground. This created an EMP-discharge, and the door opened.
Alarms started blaring, and Vel just rushed into the room, searching for the shield. She found it pretty quick and took it out of its containment case, inspecting it. The device was almost circular in shape, and on the front was a small containment chamber with a glowing golden liquid inside of it- Angels blood.
Not having much more time to marvel at the piece of tech in her hand, she rushed out of lab and the tower fleeing the crime scene. Now Velvette only had to deliver this kind of tech to the hotel and watch as her fame would skyrocket. If everything goes as planned, she might even gain enough power to overthrow Vox and take over as the "Technology Demon". But as of now, she ran down the street towards the Hazbin Hotel.
