Chapter 45

— For you our dances are weapons, for us they are a form of meditation. —

Zan'nir to Edzard when he was teaching him the basic moves of the Goutfang.

Night had already fallen over Kyoto and Edzard was sitting on a railing on the roof of one of the many buildings in the city. His hair was rocked by the soft night breeze that he was blowing at the moment. His current attire consisted of a long-sleeved black t-shirt, with a pair of cargo pants along with military boots. Furthermore, apart from that, he was also wearing his Thieves Guild armor with an Akavir sword on his waist.

As he saw the city, his mind traveled to the past, more precisely to a few hours ago. And it is that after he and Asia left the room where Lint was resting, Aika and the rest of the girls who studied at Kuoh Academy arrived. Upon meeting, she handed him Lint's sword. The blade was broken, more precisely, it was broken into seven pieces. The young mage mentioned that she had found the broken blade near the outskirts of the city.

'This has happened because of the enchantments that I have used on the sword, as these have greatly decreased the resistance of the materials that make it up.' Edzard thought as he clenched his right fist. Seeing that broken weapon, he felt anger, but not towards the one who hurt Lint, but towards himself. He had acted very haughty and relied heavily on his abilities as a charmer and a blacksmith. 'My arrogance is what has left Lint in this state.'

Edzard's thoughts began to drift from Lint's condition to the memory of what he had discussed with Azazel a few hours ago.

Flashback

Azazel was sitting across from Edzard. The look of both was serious, because he had just told Edzard what he had learned after his fight against Cao Cao.

"So. Did you let the leader of one of the Khaos Brigade factions escape?" Edzard asked seriously.

Azazel put his hand to the back of his neck and began scratching it uncomfortably.

Seeing Azazel's reaction, Edzard heaved a sigh. "At least you have managed to discover their plans… well, they have told you. What are you planning to do?"

"I will send the ORC members to fight against Cao Cao. While I will stay in case something happens in the castle. The Sitri group will stay behind to protect the hotel where the rest of the students are staying."

"I understand. So, my group and I will mobilize around the city to stop any kind of Daedric activity. After all, Cao Cao has said that there is another group that wants Yasaka, which added to the trail of possible Daedra worshipers we have found around here, makes it very likely that the other group are followers of a prince."

The Dovahkiin's words caused Azazel to put a hand to his chin.

"Edzard, can you do me a favor?" Azazel asked looking at Edzard after thinking for a few seconds.

Edzard nodded, but not to accept, but to indicate to Azazel that he could go ahead and mention his request.

"Do you think it's possible that you can send Rossweisse with Issei and the rest of the ORC brats?"

Edzard blinked in confusion. He did not understand Azazel's request. With a wave of his hand, Edzard asked him to explain the request.

"You'll see. As much as that group has grown stronger, I'm afraid they are still no match for the core members of the hero faction."

"I see." Edzard said understanding the situation. After thinking about it for a few seconds, he decided to accept Azazel's request. Although this action would make someone in the group have to patrol a larger area, he did not see any problem.

'There is not much problem, I can take care of my area and that of Rossweisse. After all, both areas are together.' Edzard thought as he leaned back in the chair.

End Flashback

Edzard's thoughts were interrupted when the scent of Magicka reached his nostrils.

'It seems that the information we obtained by searching for the Daedra worshipers was true.' Edzard thought as he stood up and began to look towards the city.

This was the real reason he was here. He and his group had spread out across the city of Kyoto to search for Daedra worshipers who were allied with the hero faction. Taking a step, Edzard launched himself into the void. As he fell, he prepared to use a spell to break his fall. So, using «Levitation», he softly landed on the ground without making a sound. After that and without wasting time, he began to run towards where he smelled the magic.

Edzard was running through several streets of the place he had to watch. After a few minutes, he was finally able to detect the origin of the smell of magic. When he arrived at said place, his eyes fell on seven people. These individuals were dressed in scarlet red hooded robes. Although the clothes were striking, what really caught Edzard's attention was the emblem that they had embroidered on their robes, because on his chest there was a golden emblem, which had the shape of a rising sun.

'Don't fuck with me. Have they reformed the cult of the mythic dawn?' Edzard thought, staring at the cultists. Recognizing the cult, Edzard concluded that the hero faction had allied with Mehrunes Dagon. He was tempted to kill them immediately but decided against it. After all, if he continued to stay in the shadows, he might learn more about what they were planning.

The members of the cult of the mythic dawn were talking to each other, unaware that Edzard was silently spying on them behind their backs.

"So, what do we have to do?" a cultist asked as he kept walking like it was nothing.

"The leader has sent us to eliminate the ruling family of this city."

A dark smile spread from under the other cultist's hood. "Ohh... So, we'll do what the mythic dawn did at the end of the third era."

"That's right. Once we manage to get them out of the way, the next step is to finish off the allies of the Molag Bal cult that are in this city."

"I understand-"

What the cultist was about to say was interrupted when his head was severed from his body.

"Nermus!" yelled one of the cultists as he saw how his companion died.

"Dammit! We are under attack, prepare to fight!" another cultist yelled as a purple orb appeared in his right hand. When said orb exploded, it surrounded the caster's body with purple light. When the light was extinguished, the cultist was surrounded by full daedric armor.

The rest of the cultists followed suit, summoning similar armor.

"We know you're there, show yourself!" shouted the cultist who had been the first to summon his armor. His armor was slightly different from that of his companions, so it could be guessed that he was the leader of the group.

Despite that shout, no one showed up. The sound of the wind and the slight chirping of some crickets began to sow a little panic in the hearts of the cultists. However, a few seconds after the cultist's words, footsteps could be heard approaching.

All of the cultists summoned bound weapons in one hand and conjured fireballs in the other. Placing their gazes towards the origin of the footsteps, they saw a silhouette appear from the shadows.

The eyes of many of Dagon's worshipers widened in fear and horror as they saw the person who stepped out of the shadows.

"W-w-what are you doing here, Dovahkiin?!" one of the cultists yelled as he unconsciously took a step back.

The rest of Dagon's worshipers gulped, for they were all Imperials and thus had heard of Edzard's powers. The leader of the group took a step forward and, pointing his weapon at him, gave an order.

"Listen, we shouldn't worry. We have received much power from Lord Dagon. While the power of the Dovahkiin should not be underestimated, we have the advantage of numbers on our side. So let us finish him off and show our loyalty to our lord by bringing his head to him."

At those words, all of the cultists tightened their grip on their weapons and charged at Edzard.

Edzard watched as Dagon's worshipers charged at him. What to a normal Nirm mortal would be a dangerous sight and a terrifying sight to many humans and low-ranking beings on Earth, to him they were just cannon fodder approaching him.

'I already got the information I needed from them.' Thought Edzard nonchalantly as he moved his right hand to his Akaviri sword, for he had already learned many parts of the new mythic dawn's plan. Although, he didn't know everything, he just needed to use common sense to realize that after killing Kunou's family, they would proceed to destroy the city and take all the inhabitants of it as slaves.

Grasping the hilt of his sword, Edzard spread his legs slightly and leaned forward. Taking a deep breath, he narrowed his eyes as he waited for the best moment to attack. In his mind, seconds turned into hours as he watched his enemies charge.

Seeing the cultists launch fireballs at him, Edzard moved slightly to launch his attack.

Edzard unsheathed his sword as he ran at breakneck speeds towards the worshipers of Dagon. The moment the fireballs were about to hit him, he swung his sword so quickly that the blade's edge managed to split them all in half. Following his path, Edzard came to be in the midst of all his enemies. Standing there, he quickly proceeded to launch several slashes simultaneously at such a speed that none of the worshipers could do anything to defend themselves. The blade of the sword pierced the poorly protected parts of the armor as if it were a hot knife through butter. As the blade moved, the slight whistle of the wind could be heard.

The style he was now using was the Rawlith Khaj Zhan (Desert Rain Wind). This variant of the Rawlith Khaj style was characterized by throwing very fast and violent cuts, almost trying to imitate the desert wind.

After finishing his attack, Edzard ended up behind the backs of all the cultists. The bodies of the cultists fell to the ground completely dismembered. Moving his sword from side to side, Edzard took the scabbard and re-sheathed his sword in one motion. Returning his gaze to the corpses, he frowned at seeing Nirmnians on the battlefield so soon.

'This is worrying. I did not expect Dagon to send his Nirmnians worshipers so soon.' Edzard thought with concern, as he hoped that his enemies would still be humans from Earth or even some deserters from one of the supernatural factions. 'This just means that Dagon has sent some of his best troops for a reason. Now the question is, what exactly is it? If his only goal is to destroy the Youkai, now he could do it himself without using his best troops, because without Yasaka the Youkai don't have many high-level fighters on his side.'

Those thoughts made Edzard put a hand to his chin, trying to figure out what was happening. In the end he could only come to one conclusion... that it's probably not the Mythic Dawn that are allied with the hero faction. So, with those guesses, Edzard transmitted a message to his companions.

"I see... I understand, Ed. I'll keep an eye out." Asia said as she hung up the conversation she had with her husband. Starting to walk down a street in the area that she had to watch, she was thinking about what her husband had just told her.

'The Mythic dawn…. I can't believe they really rebuilt that sect. I understand why Ed is so worried. If they are here, it is possible that they will be led by a high level Worshiper who possesses a Daedric artifact like Ruxandra did. However, if we are unlucky, he will be a Champion and not just a simple worshipper.'

Thinking of Ruxandra made Asia worry, as a part of her feared that Dagon had once again created Daedric Crescents en masse, for if so, they would be at a disadvantage not only in numbers, but also in equipment. As she kept walking in her own thoughts, Asia didn't notice that she came to a park. As she walked past the sandbox, she tripped and fell face first into the sand.

"Owe. Why did I just fall over?" Asia asked as she stood up.

When Asia stood up, she started to brush the sand off her clothes. She wore the same clothing that she wore during her battle against Loki's son's hybrids with the Daedric Titans. This outfit had become her official battle outfit. These clothes had been designed and created by Edzard, who, using the technology of the Grigori, had converted various high-quality metals from Nirm into threads, which were woven into a special cloth to create the garments they wore. Also, all of these clothes were enchanted to help them in battle. Although, there were some specific enchantments for each one.

'Of these specific enchantments, Aika's, helps her to regenerate her magical power faster. Valerie has enchantments that reduce the damage she can take from anti-vampire abilities. Ingvild has protection enchantments against holy powers. Rossweisse has enchantments to help her physical resistance. Mittelt also has enchantments to help with her physical stamina as well. Finally, Lint…'

Thinking of her friends made Asia remember her injured friend. Of all the girls, the one with whom she spent the most free time was with Lint, since they both went to church together to pray.

'I don't want to imagine how serious the actual damage must have been, since all our clothes, without exception, have an enchantment to cure serious injuries. Besides, what could have done enough damage to activate the emergency teleportation? The only thing I can think of that can do that is daedric-level weapons...' Asia's eyes widened at that precise moment, as she had just come up with a possible answer to the question about the origin of Lint's injuries. However, before Asia could communicate anything to Edzard, she heard voices a few meters away, so without thinking twice, she hid in the bushes in the park.

As she hid, she saw five members of the Mythic Dawn appear. They were chatting as they walked towards the temple where Kunou and her family lived.

"What happened?" asked one of the members of the mythic dawn.

"We have lost contact with Nermus' group and the others."

"Dammit. Do you think they were discovered?"

"It's possible. But the person who did it is powerful and one who doesn't inhabit this area. According to reports from our agents, no supernatural beings here except the leader should be a problem."

The worshipers of Dagon looked at each other and only nodded. As they walked, one seemed to remember something and spoke.

"Hey."

The rest of the members stopped and looked at the one who had spoken.

"Do you think whoever stopped Nermus's group is in league with the girl he fought?"

"It's possible. That girl was very strong. More than many of our newer members. But that was no use against him. He has received great power from Lord Dagon, so it was easy for him to destroy that brat." Said one of the worshipers mockingly.

"That was a complete pity. The girl looked pretty. It would have been better if he captured her so we can play with her a bit. That would have helped us relieve stress for many." Said another worshiper with an evil smile on his face.

"Ha, ha, ha. you're right It would have been fun to have fun with her. She had a nice butt."

Asia, who was still hiding in the bushes, listened to how the members of Dagon's cult made fun of someone and how they regretted not having been able to play with her. She didn't need any more information to understand that they had planned to capture the girl and rape her. She began to feel disgust with every word the cultists said, as some began to be very descriptive of what they could have done to that girl. If Asia was upset about what they had said before, when she heard that they mentioned that the girl had black and white hair and that she had silver wings, she got angry like she had never done before.

Bringing her hand to the hilt of her sword, Asia slowly came out from where she was hiding. Her steps were firm and determined, but they were also strangely silent. This allowed her to get a few meters closer to the cultists, who noticed her presence when she was twenty meters away.

The cultists looked in the direction of Asia and were astonished, as they did not expect to see anyone around here.

"Hey, wasn't there supposed to be a spell that put all the humans in this city to sleep?" asked one of the cultists.

"Yes. It is assumed that Aloys put them all to sleep with not only the spell, but he also poisoned the drinking water supplies with a drowsiness poison." Another sectarian answered.

"Well, that does not matter." Said another Dagon worshiper putting a hand to his mouth as he looked Asia up and down. "The talk about what we would do to the other girl turned me on. So, I ask for the first turn with her."

After those words, the member of the mythic dawn charged towards Asia with the intention not to kill her, but to capture her to enjoy with her for a while. He was moving very fast, so it didn't take him long to get to within a mere three meters of distance. As he ran, a macabre smile spread across his face. However, that smile died when seeing Asia's face, as she had a very frightening fury look, which was accentuated by her eyes, whose irises were red.

"What?" was the only thing he could say, as not a second later his body was split in half vertically by Asia's sword.

The cultists' eyes widened in shock and fear at how easily their partner was killed. One of them took a good look at Asia and slowly took a step back, as he recognized her face.

"Bruscius? What's wrong why are you trembling?" a cultist asked seeing his companion step back with a blank face.

"S-s-she…"

"She what?"

"She is «The Dragon Priestess»."

The rest of Dagon's worshipers showed faces of horror upon hearing this.

"Don't fuck with me. A-Are you… telling me that she is the bloody wife of the last Dragonborn?"

"Shit. Everybody gets ready. She is not an easy enemy." Ordered who seemed to be the leader.

Hearing the order, all the members of the Mythic Dawn summoned their armor and weapons. Seeing that everyone seemed ready, the leader ordered them to attack. The worshipers charged Asia at high speed, trying to overwhelm her with numbers.

Asia saw them charge at her and slowly braced herself. Gesturing, she summoned her balance breaker. While she could destroy them without using it, she was so upset by what they said about what they would do to her friend that she just wanted to destroy them and leave nothing of them. When she saw the first one arrives, Asia easily dodged the enemy mace attack. Seeing that there was a gap in the cultist's defense, she quickly swung her sword diagonally and ended up slicing through the enemy armor. The conjured Daedric armor tried to resist, but against the edge of a sword made of meteoric iron, well…there wasn't much the armor could do.

Seeing how easily their partner was killed, two cultists decided to attack Asia simultaneously, but she dodged the first one by ducking, while turning to dodge the second. When she finished dodging, Asia conjured three magic circles and from these she released several wind blades, which maimed the two cultists. After that attack, Asia took her characteristic stance to be able to use «Akachim» and saying the activation chant, she quickly charged towards her enemies.

The members of the mythic dawn watched in horror as Asia approached them enveloped in flames, which as she advanced a few meters began to change shape, taking on the appearance of a dragon, which opened its jaws as she approached. Seeing that they would not survive, many of them dropped their weapons and gave themselves over to their deaths.

Asia's attack continued its way as if nothing had happened and ended up engulfing her enemies. When the attack ended, not even the ashes of several of Dagon's worshipers were left.

Letting out a sigh, Asia decided to leave, but when she took a few steps, she heard coughing from one of the two worshipers who had attacked with magic. Staying still for a few seconds, Asia decided to approach him. Bringing a hand to her back bag, Asia took out a scroll.

When she reached the wounded man's side, Asia saw him very pale. It was obvious that the subject was at death's door, so she quickly untied the scroll and used the spell stored within it. Placing her hand on the worshiper's head, Asia quickly began to read his mind.

'I see…. This guy wasn't with this group when they attacked Lint.' Asia thought with a frown. However, she decided to continue delving into the cultist's mind before he drew his last breath. The very moment she finished reading his mind, the worshiper took his last breath from him and left this world.

'This is bad. They are infiltrated in various places and plan to attack the…" Asia's thoughts stopped when a magic circle appeared in her ear. Answering the call, her eyes widened when she heard Lint's voice on the other end.

Lint was walking through the halls of the mansion as she headed to meet Tiamat, as she would soon be leaving with her and Marie for the temple that was home to Kunou's family. She was dressed in an upgraded version of her exorcist outfit. Her steps were agile, for she knew that she had little time. She had already contacted everyone and told them what had happened when she was monitoring her Kyoto area.

'That guy is a monster. His power has the same feel as that of Ed's parents.' Thought Lint remembering what little she could of the battle, since it had been so traumatic that her mind had decided to cause her a case of dissociative amnesia. However, despite this, she managed to remember one thing and that is that she ended up very badly injured with a huge hole in her stomach. Fortunately, the emergency charm healed her wound to the point where it was almost completely removed.

As she continued to think, she remembered her sword. Although for many it might just be a simple object, for her it was something more important, because it was the symbol of Edzard's trust towards her. This thought came because there were only three weapons made by Edzard being wielded by people outside of Edzard's group. One was Tomoe's katana, the other was a pair of battle gauntlets made for Koneko, and finally, her sword was the last.

Letting out a sad sigh, she ended up rounding a corner of the house, only to bump into Marie, who was standing next to Tiamat.

"Lint-san." Marie said looking at the friend of her parents.

"Hello, Marie-chan. Are you ready?" Lint asked with a smile on her face.

"Yes. I can't believe I'll be at Kunou's house." Marie said with a smile, but then her smile turned sad. "I hope her mother is safe."

Lint put a comforting smile on her face and knelt down to the same height as the girl. "Quiet. I'm sure Issei-san and the others will save her."

Marie nodded at Lint's words. "You're right, Uncle Issei isn't as strong as dad, but he sure can save Kunou's mom."

After those words, Tiamat approached Marie and, touching her shoulder, motioned for her to go upstairs. "Go get your things, Marie. We'll be leaving soon."

Marie looked at the dragon and with a smile she quickly left the place to order some things, but above all she planned to bring a lot of sweets. After all, Kunou never tasted the sweets her father made.

Seeing that Marie was gone, Tiamat looked at Lint with concern. "Are you sure you're healthy enough to fight?"

Lint nodded. "Yes. I can't let my friends fight them alone."

"I see." Tiamat said with a sigh. Extending her right hand, the dragon summoned a sword. Extending her hand, she handed it to Lint. "I know it's not like your old sword, but at least it will help you fight."

Lint took the sword and nodded. However, taking it, she didn't realize that she had put on a sad smile, as she noticed that the sword had Edzard's blacksmith's mark.

"You shouldn't be sad. Edzard will make you a new sword soon." Tiamat said, drawing Lint's attention.

Lint looked at her in confusion, not knowing why Tiamat was saying those words. "What do you mean?"

Tiamat put a mischievous smile on her face. Bringing her face close to Lint's ear, she whispered a few words to her, which made Lint blush a lot. However, when the exorcist tried to say something, they were interrupted by Marie. Seeing the last of them ready, they decided to quickly leave for the temple.

Edzard was running at high speed through the streets of Kyoto. The speed at which he ran had caused several of the cameras that measure the speed of cars in the city to mark fines for an object for exceeding the speed limit throughout the city.

'Damn, they better stay alive.' Edzard thought with concern as he ran towards the castle where the ORC and the hero faction were fighting.

The cause of Edzard's concern was that Lint had told him that she had fought a Nirmnian who possessed the same kind of aura as his parents. Furthermore, he not only possessed the aura, but he possessed a weapon that caused her great fear.

'The evidence only points to one thing. A fucking daedric champion with a daedric artifact.' With that thought, Edzard increased his speed, starting to cause cracks where he passed.

He ran for a few more minutes, until he finally reached the castle. Once there, he saw that it was empty.

"How strange, everyone is supposed to be here. But there is no one, not only that. There are no signs of a fight or their smells." Edzard said looking at the place analytically. Putting a hand to his chin, he began to think about the possible reason for that. A few seconds later he hit his forehead, as he remembered something important. "Of course. Azazel told me that this group had a guy with a sacred gear capable of creating pocket dimensions."

Reaching into his pocket, Edzard took out his Shadowkey and opened a portal to where he felt the coin Rossweisse had was. Wasting no time, he crossed the portal hoping he wouldn't find only corpses.

While Edzard ran through the streets, in the palace where Yasaka and Kunou lived, which was in a separate dimension of Kyoto called "Urakyoto", Edzard's family and the rest of the group were gathered. They had arrived not long ago, and Asia, being the sub-leader of the group, had helped prepare the defenses for the impending attack. The first thing that was done was to send the children and those who could not fight to a safe place. Second, he had a quick meeting with the Tengus and the Kitsunes to decide the plan of action to protect the place. Within a few minutes of putting together the plans, everyone was in position.

Edzard's group was in one of the towers, since from there they could see the whole place and they could react more quickly. All the girls were chatting to get rid of their pre-fight anxiety.

"You know... When I met Edzard last year I never thought I would be involved in a fight to defend my world from extra dimensional invaders." Aika said as she leaned against a wall.

"I understand. I never expected to be free from my brother's control." Valerie said as she put a smile on her face.

"I would most likely be dead if she hadn't met Ed." Mittelt said, because if it hadn't been for Edzard and the rest of the girls, she would have been killed by her so-called comrades.

"Really? How is that?" Lint asked looking at Mittelt.

Mittelt just put on a smile and didn't respond, exasperating Lint. "And your little dove, what would have happened if you hadn't met Edzard?"

"The same as you. It is possible that I was dead."

"That's terrible." Ingvild said looking at her friends.

"Hey, In. What do you think you would be doing now if you hadn't met Ed?" Aika asked.

Ingvild put on a sad smile as he replied. "Most likely he was still sleeping because of Sleep Disease."

After those words, Ingvild felt someone touch her shoulder. Looking up, she saw Asia and the rest of the girls smiling at her.

Asia tried to say something to them, but before she could say anything, her eyes narrowed, and she looked straight ahead.

"Asia?" asked Mittelt approaching.

"They are already here." Asia said looking forward with a frown.

Boom!

A huge explosion completely shook the room. Resting their gaze on the place where it originated from, the girls saw how on the right side of the castle there a big hole was.

"Let's go!" Asia yelled as she unsheathed her sword and flew to where the hole was.

The rest of the girls nodded and followed they sub-leader.

As the attack on the Youkai Palace began, within the dimension generated by the sacred gear «Dimension Lost», the hero faction and Kuoh's pact members were in a big bind.

Initially there had been a battle between the two groups while Saji oversaw stopping Yasaka, who had taken her fox form. Said form was that of a large golden-furred fox, easily measuring several meters in height. The rest of the members had faced one enemy from the hero faction each. Kiba and Xenovia faced Siegfried, a young man who was very similar to Lint, as he also had white hair and red eyes. His attire consisted of a Japanese student uniform with an exorcist trench coat. Rossweisse fought against Heracles, who was a two-meter-tall man with a well-built body and shoulder-length gray hair. He was wearing a Japanese uniform and over it a kind of ancient Greek armor. Next up was Irina who fought against a cute blue-eyed blonde girl wearing armor, the girl's name was Jeanne. Finally, the battle between Issei and the faction's leader, Cao Cao, the wielder of the first Longinus, a spear called "True Longinus". He was a handsome young man with black hair and blue eyes who wore Japanese student attire mixed with ancient Chinese attire.

The battle between both groups was intense, but almost all of them were defeated by their enemies. The only one who had managed to give battle to his enemy was Issei, who having awakened a new ability called "Illegal Triama Movement", which allowed Issei's scaled mail to change into three different forms to be able to fight with different attributes. With this ability, Issei had managed to corner Cao Cao. However, it was at the height of the fight that everything went to hell.

It all started when out of nowhere a large red beam hit Yasaka's fox form, causing her to fall to the ground unconscious. The force of the impact generated a large shock wave that made Saji, who was using a transformation of his sacred gear to look like Vitra, end up being sent to where the rest of the group was, who had already recovered thanks to the potions that Edzard had given them and some Phenex tears.

A few seconds later, footsteps were heard. When everyone looked at who had appeared, no one recognized him. The being that had appeared was a human about two meters tall. His hair was white, and his eyes were red with black sclera. This subject wore a kind of monk's robe as clothing, but with his chest uncovered. His arms and legs were protected by pieces of armor very similar to those worn by the champions who attacked the gathering in the underworld.

That guy didn't salute them or anything when he saw them, but instead rushed forward to attack them. He first started with the members of the hero faction. The first person to receive the attack was Heracles, who using his Sacred Gear, «Variant Detonation», began to generate explosions with each blow they exchanged. The battle was destructive, but the newcomer's abilities far surpassed Heracles'. Furthermore, he had physical strength strong enough to overwhelm Heracles and his sacred gear with no problem. It was in the middle of said altercation that the first casualty of the night occurred, and that is that Heracles' solar plexus was pierced by the newcomer's fist.

After killing the member of the hero faction, the stranger went towards Jeanne, who in fear, used the balance breaker of her sacred gear, «Blade blacksmith» to create a dragon made of blades, but this dragon did not last much, because the stranger jumped and with a movement of three hundred and sixty degrees, he kicked so hard that he smashed the dragon's head into several pieces. After that, he launched himself to end Jeanne's life, but at that moment, someone intervened in the attack.

Siegfried had intervened between the attack that Jeanne was going to receive using his sword. The sword used was a crimson greatsword with gold details. The blade was long and widened at the tip. At said tip, the sword had three small holes. The sword was Gram, the most powerful of the demon swords, also known as «Demonic Emperor Sword». In addition to said sword, Siegfried had five other swords. He could do this thanks to his sacred gear, «Twice Critical», which normally doubles the user's power. However, the former exorcist had a balance breaker called «Chaos Edge Asura Ravage» which created four draconic arms on Siegfried's back. The five swords were Balmung, a long sword whose blade was two shades of purple with a strange eye ornament on its guard. The next was Nothung, which was a sword with a blade wider than normal, with a blue guard, which has a diamond in the center. Next up is Tyrfing, a double-edged longsword that is completely black except for four diamond-shaped patterns in the center of the blade and a cross-guard. Another sword was Dáinsleif, which was a demonic-looking sword, it was dark purple in color and had a guard that looked like demon wings, with three red gems embedded in the blade. Finally, he carried the generic sword of light that all exorcists used.

The young swordsman had formidably dueled against his enemy, but no matter how hard he used his swords, they were unable to pierce the steel of his enemy's armor pieces. When he took the first hit, Siegfried was sent flying several meters like a piece of paper. The rest of the battle was spent with Siegfried struggling to try to overwhelm his enemy, who was unfazed by the demon blades. The battle lasted a few minutes, until finally, Siegfried received a powerful kick to the chest. The force of said blow was beyond known limits, since that single blow ended up destroying the entire solar plexus of the artificial human to the point where all his internal organs, which were destroyed, were visible to everyone.

Many of those who saw this sight almost vomited. However, they couldn't afford to do that, as they were now facing the monster that had appeared.

"Come on, is that really all they have?" the stranger said with a bloodthirsty smile on his face and using a tone of voice that showed a great deal of arrogance.

Everyone presents in the place watched as the stranger looked at them as if weighing their level of power just by looking at them. He watched them for what seemed like hours to them, but they all knew that not a minute had passed. Without saying a word, the stranger began to approach Issei and the rest of the devils.

"Among those here, you are the one with the potential to be the most dangerous. No one may notice, but I noticed that ever since you saw me, your power has been quietly increasing." After those words, the stranger quickly pounced on Issei, who had to jump aside to avoid a blow. However, out of nowhere, Issei's body shot out several meters, as the fist had generated a wave of wind, which ended up hitting Issei.

"Wagg." It was the only thing Issei said as he spat out a large amount of blood through his helmet. Bringing a hand to his chest, Issei felt how a part of his armor was shattered.

Everyone's face was now contorted in surprise because no one expected that only the force of the blow's wind would have created such an amount of damage. This showed them that he had only been playing when he fought Heracles and Siegfried.

The stranger put on a smile of emotion when he saw how Issei's armor was repaired. "Incredible. So, no matter how many times I destroy your armor, it will regenerate…. Perfect!"

After those words, the stranger charged against Issei again, but before reaching the young devil, he was intercepted by Xenovia and Kiba. Both devils used their swords to try to kill the stranger, but their attacks were useless. The stranger used his gauntlets for protection and with a quick move, he managed to deflect the impact of both weapons. The move put both devils off guard, which the stranger took advantage of to land two blows at them. However, these blows never landed, as the stranger received a bolt of holy magic from behind.

The stranger staggered a bit and looking back, he saw that Cao Cao was the one who had attacked him.

"Ha. An attack from behind. I guess I can't expect anything else from someone who has allied himself with the rats who serve Molag Bal." Whispered to the stranger before disappearing in a burst of speed.

Cao Cao's eyes widened in surprise as he saw the stranger appear in front of him. He quickly moved his spear and tried to stab him, but to no avail, as his attack was too slow and his enemy managed to deflect the attack. However, before he counterattacked, he received a blow from Issei who used his promotion to «Rook» to have more physical strength. The power of the blow was not only increased by the Tower attribute, but also by the knight attribute since Issei had previously used the promotion to «Knight» to gain speed. The force caused the stranger to end up flying about ten meters, allowing him to separate from Cao Cao.

"With this we are even, Cao Cao." Issei said with annoyance, because he didn't like the fact of having to save the one who had caused so much damage to the Youkai.

Cao Cao only nodded and standing up, spoke. "I propose a truce until we manage to stop this guy."

Issei nodded, but he was also worried, because he didn't know how they could defeat their enemy. While he could double his power, it wasn't infinite, as once his body reached his limit, he couldn't increase his power anymore, as doing so would risk destroying his own body.

'What do we do? How can we defeat him? 'Issei thought as he watched as the stranger stood up.

While Issei was thinking about how to fight, the rest of his teammates joined him. The same thing happened to Cao Cao, who was surrounded by the rest of his companions.

"Hahaha. So, they will all attack me together." Told the stranger as he put an excited smile on his face. "That's perfect! Come with everything you have!"

After yelling, he charged at them at high speed. In a blink he was in front of them. Raising his fist, he launched a powerful blow, which was dodged by almost everyone. Those who weren't fast enough ended up being blown away thanks to the generated gust of wind.

Issei charged in and launching a combo of punches and kicks, started a close combat against him. Throwing a powerful punch, Issei tried to knock his enemy down. Unfortunately, this blow did nothing against his enemy, as he stopped the attack with his hand, thus trapping Issei's fist. After that, he counterattacked using said arm to pull Issei towards him, and then quickly hit him in the stomach. The blow made Issei's body bend in a V before he shot out like a rocket.

As soon as Issei flew out, Kiba, Xenovia, Irina and Jeanne charged at the stranger. Swinging their weapons at high speed, they all launched combo attacks. It seemed strange, because despite having been enemies not long ago, they could coordinate in a prodigious way. However, that was in vain, as the stranger dodged the attacks or deflected them using his gauntlets.

Irina rose several meters using her wings and moving her hand, she created several light rings, which she threw while screaming. "Take this!"

The light rings approached the stranger, who, clenching his fists, caused them to catch fire. Throwing out several quick blows, he caused this fire to shoot out in the form of several balls, which headed towards Irina. The speed of the fireballs far exceeded that of the light rings and ended up destroying them in one hit. After that, the fireballs that didn't hit the light rings continued their way and ended up hitting Irina, creating a huge explosion.

"Irina!" Xenovia cried out in concern seeing her friend being injured. Clenching her teeth, she flung herself at the stranger and began trying to cut him down using her new sword. Her sword «Durandal» had become a new sword, which had been renamed «ExDurandal». This sword now not only contained the power of the holy sword Durandal, but also carried the shards of «Excalibur», which acted as a sheath to keep the aura of «Durandal» itself contained while allowing the user to use the individual abilities of the Excalibur shards. However, the anger had made Xenovia's attacks become erratic and very easy to predict. Which was taken advantage of by her enemy, who deflected one of her attacks and grabbed Xenovia by her face and in one move, knocked her to the ground. The force of the impact was such that she ended up unconscious.

Seeing his partner out cold, Kiba lunged at the stranger to try to get his friend out of there. Unfortunately, his speed was not fast enough to catch the stranger off guard.

"You really are fast. However, it is not enough!" the stranger yelled as he parried Kiba's attack, before hitting the devil's supporting leg. With that movement, Kiba was left in the air, which was used by his enemy to take him by the leg and proceed to stamp him several times against the ground. The force of the repetitive impacts ended up knocking Kiba out.

After that, the stranger saw Jeanne and swinging his arm, he threw Kiba like an improvised projectile at the swordswoman. The devil's body slammed into Jeanne's abdomen, knocking the air out of her. The young woman shot out and ended up hitting one of the walls of the replica of the castle.

Seeing that almost everyone who attacked him was out cold, he started walking towards the remaining ones. However, before he got there, he was forced to jump to the side, as hundreds of spells began to rain down from the sky. The stranger began to run around the place, dodging attacks and parrying some with his gauntlets. When the attack was over, the stranger looked up into the sky and saw Rossweisse flying over him.

Rossweisse had attacked with a barrage of spells when she saw that the stranger was distracted. She had been hoping her attack would take him by surprise, but it hadn't worked. So, seeing that, she began to fly higher to gain a safe distance. However, before she got much higher, she felt her foot being grabbed. Looking down, she saw how the stranger had caught her foot. Seeing that, her face showed panic, which caused a cruel smile to appear on the stranger's face.

The stranger wasted no time and quickly pulled Rossweisse towards him, before proceeding to deliver a powerful blow to her stomach. Rossweisse's body forcibly bent into a V, then flew a few meters. Rossweisse's body skidded several meters. However, unlike the rest of her companions, she did not fall unconscious and slowly began to get back on her feet.

Seeing that his enemy hadn't fallen like the rest with a single blow, the stranger raised an eyebrow in confusion. "How are you still awake?"

Rossweisse put a smile on her face as she spread out her hands and created hundreds of magic circles. "Compared to his, your attacks are very weak:"

The young Valkyrie had said that thanks to the fact that, along with the rest of her friends, she had trained under the supervision of Edzard, who had only held back long enough to avoid causing them permanent damage. Furthermore, her Valkyrie armor had been reinforced with Nirmnians enchantments, which increased her stamina and wound recovery rate.

The stranger looked at Rossweisse and instead of getting angry at the indirect insult, he put on a bloodthirsty smile.

"Ha, ha, ha! Splendid! I never expected that there would be low ranked beings as strong as you and that silver winged girl in this world!" the stranger shouted as he leaned forward slightly and put his right leg in front of his left. "As a show of respect, I'll show you a degraded version of my best attack!"

As he finished shouting, the greaves the stranger was wearing began to radiate energy in large amounts. Not two seconds passed after the stranger's words when he was shot like a rocket towards Rossweisse.

The Valkyrie watched in horror as her enemy closed in on her. Although he was fast, that was not all, since even if she tried to dodge him, that would be very difficult, since each step the stranger took made the ground shake as if they were small earthquakes. These small earthquakes made her stagger, preventing her from being able to move around the place well.

"This is the end! Die!" the stranger yelled as he stood in front of Rossweisse and tried to throw an ax kick at her.

Time slowed for Rossweisse as she watched the attack come. Her eyes were so fixed on the attack, that she didn't notice that a portal was opening next to where a newly awakened Issei was. A black shadow emerged from said portal and moving with extraordinary speed, interposed itself between Rossweisse and the stranger.

Rossweisse's eyes widened as the sound of metal colliding was present. Being so close to the clash of steels, she was able to hear a sound similar to rain hitting the ground. The ax blow was deflected as seven thrusts struck the greaves. However, not everything ended there, since the stranger went flying several meters, courtesy of a powerful blow that he received in the abdomen.

The eyes of everyone who was aware widened at the sight of Edzard standing in front of Rossweisse. He had stopped the enemy attack using the Rawlith Khaj Rawlith (Desert Rain Rain). This form of the Rawlith Khaj focused on the use of swift thrusts to kill the enemy using precise and swift attacks.

"It's already tiring having to save their butts so many times." Edzard said without looking at anyone but his enemy. "When this is over, you will have to undergo extensive training."

Author's note:

To those who have made it this far, Thanks for reading. Because being honest, I don't know how to write much in English and I'm relying on Google translators and the dictionaries that come with office 2019.

And here chapter 45, XD.

Here we have seen the appearance of a different champion, also, we see how one of the best-known Daedric cults or sects of all has resurfaced, the infamous Mythic Dawn. And as expected, these are about to do the same as their counterparts did during the third era. Also, unlike canon in DxD in this matchup if there have been casualties for one part.

About the Rawlith Khaj, this fighting style is known to have different stances or attack forms, such as "Rain", "Sun"; "Wind", "Sand", among others. Each of these attack forms will be differentiated by the way Edzard will move the weapon and will be accompanied by some representative element such as the sound of rain or a gale, etc.
