Chapter 47

The peace that was made with the Thalmors was only temporary. You and I both know this won't last. —

Decius to Roland in the Imperial Palace 192 4E

At the same moment that Asia and the rest of the girls entered through the Daedric portals, in Urakyoto many Youkai houses were destroyed. The cause of this destruction was none other than the ongoing battle between Edzard and Norgred.

The blows came and went at great speeds, generating huge shock waves that destroyed houses and lifted large chunks of earth.

"Die, Dovahkiin!" Norgred yelled as he launched a downward kick, which was powered by the power of his Daedric artifact.

Edzard saw this attack and jumping to the side in an acrobatic manner, managed to narrowly dodge it. The moment Norgred's attack hit the ground, it generated a huge explosion that created a huge crater in the ground, destroying several streets of the small city.

'This battle has already destroyed more than half of the city.' Edzard thought as he continued to dodge Norgred's attacks. 'I can't let him destroy any more.'

Finishing that thought, Edzard had to put his sword in front of himself, since he had been distracted enough for Norgred to launch a direct attack at him. Norgred's fist slammed into the sword, sending Edzard skidding several feet.

When he managed to stop, Edzard quickly countered, so, launching himself at his enemy, he began to slash faster and more accurately. Even though he was now using a great amount of power and his sword had managed to hit Norgred's skin several times, he was still unharmed.

'That armor is being a real nuisance.' Edzard thought with annoyance as he watched as his sword failed to cut the flesh of Norgred's abdomen, which received a horizontal slash. Although, despite not being able to cut him, the force of the blow sent the Champion flying into several houses, which were destroyed when he passed through them.

After that attack, Edzard jumped back several times, as he had to dodge many debris, which was thrown by Norgred. He was dodging the attacks for a long time, but there came a time when he was forced to use his sword to cut several of them, as they caught him in an instant when he had no way to dodge them.

'Tch. This one who uses this to buy time and charge his Daedric artifact with magic.' thought Edzard as he gritted his teeth in frustration, as he felt the massive increase in power from his enemy. So, to prevent Norgred from further increasing his power, he decided to attack. So, he dashed at high speed towards where Norgred had hit previously. Unfortunately, he did not arrive in time and by the time he managed to reach his enemy, he had to stop his advance abruptly and then quickly duck, as Norgred had launched a flying kick with the clear intention of making Edzard himself run towards that attack.

The energy stored in the champion's boots was released in the form of a gust of purple wind, which followed straight ahead, creating a rift several meters wide and deep.

'That was close. If that blow had hit me, it would surely have caused me a lot of damage.' Edzard thought and then took advantage of the fact that he was in a good position to give Norgred a quick blow. So, swinging his left hand, he delivered a powerful blow to the left side of his enemy's torso. A ripple of wind formed as he connected his fist with the Champion's body, which shot several meters to the right.

Norgred's body followed a straight line and as he flew, the champion began to get more and more angry. And the fact is that he couldn't believe that he hadn't been able to hit Edzard directly during all the time they had been fighting.

'Why? Why? Why?' Norgred thought furiously, then spun acrobatically in the air, then landed on his feet. After skidding several meters, the champion gritted his teeth and yelled at the top of his lungs. "WHY?!"

After that shout, Norgred extended his arms and gathering magic in them, covered them with lightning and fire. After that, he gave a war cry and charged at Edzard, who upon seeing this tightened his grip on his sword and prepared himself for combat.

The moment Norgred reached Edzard, he began to unleash a flurry of attacks at high speed, which made Edzard go on the defensive as he deflected all incoming attacks.

"Why, despite attacking you with everything, I can't hit you?!" Norgred yelled as he delivered an uppercut to the chin of Edzard, who had previously jumped to dodge Norgred's low kick.

Seeing the attack coming, Edzard turned his face and was able to narrowly dodge it. After that, he ended up falling and in doing so, he jumped to be several meters away from Norgred. However, despite taking that distance, Edzard had to deflect attacks that were going against him. Swinging his sword, he deftly deflected Norgred's punches and kicks, causing the wind waves that were generated by the force of the blows to continue tearing the place apart. But despite that, Edzard knew that if he continued like this, this battle would last for eternity. So, while he kept fighting the Champion, his mind was planning what to do to defeat him.

The battle between the two continued and as it did, Norgred kept yelling at Edzard. Most of the things that came out of his mouth were insults or taunts, which seemed to have no effect. However, the battle that until now had been stalemated, would change thanks to an action of the Champion.

Anger and despair had begun to overtake Norgred. Dagon's champion began to feel helpless as he saw that none of his attacks, even those carrying Dagon's artifact, were able to land a hit against Edzard's body. He had tried everything, including using magic on his limbs so that the secondary effects of the destruction magic would help him weaken Edzard, but that too had failed. With every moment the battle dragged on his movements became clumsier, not from exhaustion, but from helplessness and frustration. He had faced many enemies, but none like the Dovahkiin.

'I won't lose, I won't lose like this.' Norgred thought in frustration as he launched a roundhouse kick, which failed to hit Edzard.

After that attack, Norgred turned one hundred and eighty degrees and lighting his arms on fire again, he began to launch rapid blows at Edzard, who used his Akaviri sword to deflect them all. While deflecting Norgred's attacks, Edzard kept a firm grip on his own weapon, as the blade was already completely dented.

'This sword has held up well, but I'm afraid if it receives another attack from the «Earth Splitters» it will eventually break. Edzard thought as he deflected one of Norgred's blows. When the enemy's fist was away from him, he saw an opening and by moving his blade swiftly, he managed to make a precise cut on the Champion's body. Unfortunately, just like before, Norgred's magical armor managed to reduce the damage of the blow, causing Norgred to only skid several meters.

When he stopped, Norgred looked at Edzard and clenched his fists in anger. He knew he couldn't keep fighting like this, but he didn't know what he should do, no, he knew what he should do. Knowing what he had to do, Dagon's champion reached his right hand toward his bag. Pulling out a small vial, he brought it to his mouth and in one gulp emptied the contents into his stomach.

Seeing that Norgred had drunk what looked like a stamina potion, Edzard just waited for his enemy to lunge at him again to continue their fight. However, that did not happen, as Dagon's champion's body began to expel a large amount of heat, which began to cause his body to expel smoke.

'What the hell?' thought Edzard confused by what he saw, but he couldn't stay in that state for long, because in less than a second, Norgred appeared in front of him with his fist raised. Swinging his sword as fast as he could, Edzard parried Norgred's attack, but he was powerless against the rush of air the blow generated.

"Ufff." Edzard growled as he felt the force of the air hit his face.

For the first time in a long time, Edzard took off at high speed towards several houses. The body of Akatosh's last son passed through the walls of houses like nothing, destroying an entire city block.

When he finally stopped, Edzard was covered in various debris, but throwing a single punch, he sent the debris flying. Getting to his feet, Edzard looked at Norgred and grunting, took his sword in both hands. Taking a different stance with his feet, he lunged at the champion.

The blows came and went, causing the barrier that protected Yasaka's palace to shake, which threatened to give way and destroy itself at any moment.

"What's happening? Who is he?" asked a Youkai in amazement seeing the battle in front of him.

"That's the leader of the group of adorable girls who just closed those creepy-looking gates." Azazel replied with a smile.

Azazel's answer silenced all the Youkai who watched the fight that was happening behind the barrier with astonishment and disbelief, since they could not see them fight, since all they saw was the destruction they left in their wake. And it is that, street after street of their city was being completely destroyed, the houses disappeared, the roads were destroyed, and innumerable craters began to be present all over the place.

"Lint. Is that the guy who hurt you?" Asia asked as she kept her gaze fixed on the battle going on.

"Yes. He was the one who defeated me in Kyoto." Lint replied as she felt a shiver run through her body as a phantom pain shot through her abdomen.

"I see." Asia said before turning around and telling everyone to look for the injured to start first aid. After all, they couldn't stand around doing nothing after they'd just stopped a Daedric attack.

Asia's words made all the youkai remember that they had come out of a battle and with a hurried step they began to search for the wounded, while rescuing the bodies of all the deceased. All those involved in this work did it in the most orderly and diligent way they could. However, a light caused everyone to look away and pay attention to what was happening.

In a magic circle of the Nordic faction appeared the ORC members, Saji, Rossweisse, Kunou, Marie, Yasaka and the refugees who had been hiding in the city.

"Yasaka-sama!" was the collective cry of several Youkai upon seeing their leader, who was being carried by Rossweisse.

Some Youkai, especially several Kitsunes, ran towards where the unconscious Yasaka was. Upon arrival, they began to bombard Rossweisse with questions, who began to feel uncomfortable about it. Fortunately, Yasaka's daughter came out to calm the gathered Youkai.

After some words from Kunou, who explained what was happening, the Youkai made a corridor and allowed their leader and her daughter to pass towards the castle, whose destroyed parts were being rebuilt with magic.

While that was going on, the refugees kept coming, but other than that, the still conscious ORC members were in a meeting with Asia and the rest of the girls. There, Issei was telling them what had happened.

"I see. They had to evacuate the area because the battle was getting very chaotic." Asia said as a summary of what Issei had explained to her.

"That's right." Issei said as he nodded.

After that, Asia looked at Marie, who was looking down at her shoes with great attention.

"Marie… Ahh…" Asia said with a sigh before kneeling down and holding her daughter's chin with her right hand. Gently lifting the little girl's face, Asia gave her a gentle scolding.

The little dragon only nodded and promised that she would not do it again, but as she said those words, Asia saw how her feet moved restlessly.

"Whenever you promise something and you know you don't plan to keep it, you move your feet like you're doing, Marie." Asia said with a serious voice, only to put on a smile afterwards. "Daughter, I am not upset about the object you took, but I am upset because you did not ask permission to take it. We have always told you that it is better to ask for something and not take it without permission."

"Unless it's an enemy item." Aika interrupted with a smile on her face.

Aika's words made Asia stand up and look at her friend.

"Aika..." Asia said putting a ghoulish smile on her face.

Aika's face turned chalk pale as she saw Asia approaching. When Edzard's wife was in front of her, Lavinia's apprentice received a powerful blow to the head, which left her on the ground almost unconscious.

"Ouch, that must have hurt." Lint, Ingvild, Mittelt and Valerie said in unison as they hugged each other out of fear at seeing the normally cheerful and kind Asia being angry.

Letting out a sigh, Asia managed to calm down and taking her daughter in her arms, she began to caress her head to make her sleep, which she easily achieved, since it was already past the little girl's bedtime. With her daughter resting, Asia turned her head and looked at Issei, who also had his pale face. To his good luck, Asia beckoned Issei to follow her, but before going to talk to her husband's friend, she told the girls to go support and accommodate the civilians. After that, she and Issei walked for a few moments and when they were alone and without prying ears, she asked about Yasaka's condition, since she had seen her unconscious.

The reincarnated devil began to tell Asia everything that had happened in the battle against the hero faction. Issei's words were listened to by Asia with great attention.

"And that was all that happened." Issei said finishing his story.

"I see." Asia said hearing everything that had happened. A part of her was upset with the hero faction for leaving them out, just like that. But another part of her was worried, for she didn't know how she would tell Lint that the person who had trained her at the Sigurd Institute long ago was dead. Shaking her head, the young battle mage decided to focus on other things, especially since she heard the footsteps of her friends. However, before she could do or say anything to them, she heard a loud crash, which was accompanied by a very strong earthquake.

The earthquake shook the place with great force, causing the castle to shake from side to side, threatening to topple it at any moment.

"AAAHHHHHH!" the girls yelled in unison as they tried to stay on their feet.

"Asia! What's going on?!" Mittelt yelled as she fell to the ground on her butt.

Asia was struggling to stay on her feet and as she did, she was trying to see what was going on.

'T-t-t-that's... (glup)' Asia thought in terror as she felt a large amount of Daedric power accumulating.

Edzard was breathing with a bit of difficulty because the battle had become very, very complicated for him.

'Dammit. His gloves now have poison in them.' Edzard thought as he felt his energies rapidly descend. 'For a poison to get past my resistance to them and affect me to this degree only means that it is a Daedric poison made from Oblivion plants and empowered with chaotic magic.'

Getting a better look at Norgred's gauntlets, Edzard saw that they now had small blades on both the knuckles and the side edges of each hand.

'I should have realized there was something fishy when his movements started to change and he wasn't using as many forceful blows anymore, but side blows.'

Edzard's thoughts were interrupted when he saw Norgred charging at him in a very bestial way.

"Ha, ha, ha! What's up Dovahkiin?! Where is your skill from a few moments ago?!" Norgred yelled as he threw several punch combos at Edzard, which seemed to overwhelm him.

Crouching down, the young dragon managed to prevent a powerful punch from hitting his face and once he was in that position, he swung his sword up and as the blade approached his enemy's body, it was intercepted by Norgred's fist.

The screeching sound of the impact was accompanied by a loud "crack", which originated from Edzard's sword, as the metal could no longer withstand the intensity of the battle and ended up breaking into two fragments. The shard of the sword that wasn't attached to the hilt shot out at Edzard, who had to move his leg to keep the shard of blade from biting into his thigh. Unfortunately, he didn't do it very quickly and ended up getting a leg injury.

"Arghh." Edzard growled as he felt the cut on his leg.

Norgred was overjoyed to see Edzard wince at the injury. Putting on a bloodthirsty smile, the champion moved his leg and began throwing punches and kicks at Edzard, always focusing on the Dovahkiin's left side, since that was the place where the wound on his leg was.

Seeing that his sword was no longer useful to him for this battle, Edzard dropped the broken weapon's handle and began to defend himself with his unarmed combat skills. Moving his right arm, Edzard deflected Norgred's blow, but in doing so, he saw how the small blades of the champion's gauntlets ended up inflicting small wounds, which surely had introduced some poison to his system.

'I cannot continue like this. This is getting really complicated.' Edzard thought as he jumped back, to avoid a kick from Norgred. As he fell, the young dragon already knew what he had to do. So, opening his mouth, he shouted. "MUL!"

Upon using the first power word of his dragon aspect, Edzard's body was covered in scales and the gauntlets of his armor became present. Now with his hands protected by decent heavy armor, Edzard began to exchange punches with Norgred. The clash of the two enemies' blows began to generate large shockwaves, which sent various debris flying all over the place. Although, they slowly began to increase the strength of the attacks, generating a small earthquake.

Edzard dodged a kick from Norgred and turning a hundred and eighty degrees on his own axis, he kicked upwards at the champion. The blow struck directly against the champion's chin, causing him to be thrown several meters into the sky.

"Hahaha! This battle has already lasted a long time, Dovahkiin!" Norgred yelled as he began to maneuver in the air. Already in a good position, he began to gather a large amount of power in his boots. The Daedric artifact began to be covered by a blood-red aura, while small purple lightning began to sizzle from the greaves.

An ominous aura of Daedric power began to rise, causing Edzard to look at his enemy. Edzard's peaceful and calm countenance belied the emotions inside him, for he was worried about what he felt.

'«Groundsplitters» are said to have the potential to shatter cities in one fell swoop. And it seems that is true, because the amount of power that he is gathering is brutal.' Edzard thought as he moved his hands to the side. Clenching his teeth, Roland's son created a golden portal and drew his sword from it. Starting to send magic to «Akachihel», Edzard watched as Norgred descended towards the ground.

"Disappear, Dovahkiin! Disappear along with that entire city!" Norgred yelled as he fell at great speed.

The champion began to be covered by the aura exuded by the Daedric artifact, causing him to take on the appearance of a red comet.

Seeing his foe hurtling down, any hesitation Edzard had about using one of his two most powerful thu'ums vanished, and taking a deep breath, he shouted. "TIID! KLO!"

The time around Edzard slowed down and without wasting a moment, he jumped up with great force and shouted again. "WULD! NAH!"

Edzard's body moved forward as fast as lightning and a few moments before time returned to normal, the young dragon was at the champion's side. Seeing himself in that position, Edzard wasted no time and turned his body enough to have a good view of the place that would be hit by his attack. Seeing that the place he would end up destroying was made up of already destroyed houses, he decided to use that thu'um, so he unceremoniously shouted at the top of his lungs.

"YOL! ZAHKRII!"

The eyes of all those who felt that massive increase in power widened as they saw a red comet descend to impact the destroyed city, but it was what they saw next that made many Youkais almost pee their pants. And it is that, before the astonished sight of all, a great sea of flames in the shape of a crescent cut divided the red comet in half, but not only that, but also reached part of the city.

The great sea of flames that erupted in that instant ended up destroying more than half of what was left of Urakyoto, turning it into a desolate wasteland of scorched earth.

"A-amazing." Azazel said between stutters seeing the destructive power of one of Edzard's thu'um. Swallowing a little, the Fallen leader approached Asia to ask what had happened. Next to Azazel were several youkais who also wanted to know what had just happened.

Seeing them arrive, Asia immediately knew why they were approaching, so she immediately began to tell them what that attack had been. By the time she finished speaking to them, they all saw how the barrier that protected the castle broke into several fragments.

"W-what happened?!"

"Why has the barrier fallen?!"

They were the hysterical screams of many of the Youkais, who began to feel panic and fear, because they thought that the enemy had managed to break through the barrier, but when they saw who the person who had broken the barrier was, many released several sighs of calm. And it is that the one who had arrived was Edzard, who had his armor with several broken parts. Although, that did not cause as much astonishment as what the young dragon was dragging.

"T-t-that's a…?" asked Issei looking with a mixture of amazement and disgust at what Edzard was dragging.

"Yeah, that's a mutilated body." Azazel replied as he grimaced, for the body that Edzard was dragging was mutilated with a diagonal cut from the right side of the ribcage to the left side of the hip.

The mutilated body stained the ground through which it was dragged with blood, while part of its internal organs was visible to everyone, while some pieces of these visors began to detach from the body, staying on the road.

When Edzard got to where everyone was, Azazel approached him.

"So, is it him?" asked the Fallen, staring at the corpse.

"Yes, this is who was leading the attack." Edzard replied, unceremoniously dropping the body to the ground. "He is a Champion who serves Dagon, but not only that."

"What do you mean?" Azazel asked frowning at those words.

"This guy was also the carrier of a Daedric artifact."

Those words caught the attention of all the Youkai who heard them, because they didn't know it was a Daedric weapon. But those who already knew of its existence were largely surprised, as they did not expect this to be happening.

"A Daedric artifact. Are you sure?" asked Azazel once he got over his initial shock. Concern could be heard in his voice, as the leader of the Grigori did not expect this development. He hadn't expected to see a Daedric artifact in action so soon.

"Yes, it was in the possession of the «Groundsplitters»"

"Groundsplitters?" Issei asked as he approached his friend.

"Yes, that's what they're called." Edzard replied, then pointed to the missing part of the champion. "You remember the boots he was wearing, right?"

Issei nodded.

"Those were the «Groundsplitters»." Edzard said, but when he was about to speak more, he saw that they had a large audience. "It seems like there are a lot of people. I think the best thing would be that I tell you all this in another place, while we invite the leader of this place."

Finishing saying those words, Edzard realized that the mention of Yasaka made all the Youkais look downcast. So, looking at Azazel, he asked. "What happened?"

Edzard was standing watching an unconscious Yasaka rest in a spacious room. Said room, in addition to being spacious, was also sparsely furnished, because according to what Kunou had told Edzard, this place was used as a room for meditation. In the room were Edzard, Azazel and Kunou.

"Have you tried to wake her up by normal means yet?" Edzard asked as he knelt down to get a better look at the Kitsune.

The leader of the Kyoto Youkais no longer wore the kimono with which they had brought her from the false Kyoto, as she herself now wore a hospital gown which was struggling to contain the huge breasts of the kitsune.

"Yes, Edzard-sama." Kunou answered as her ears were glued to her head, an unmistakable sign that she was sad to see the state her mother was in.

Seeing his daughter's friend being in that condition, Edzard moved his left hand to the little girl's head and started patting it softly.

"Calm down, Kunou. I'll see what I can do to wake her up." Edzard said putting a smile on his face.

Edzard's smile seemed to fulfill his objective, because the little Kitsune stopped being so sad, to then nod and put on a small smile.

"Azazel." Said Edzard calling the attention of the aforementioned. "What have they tried to do to wake her up?"

"We have tried to make contact with her mind directly and we have also used Issei's spell to listen to women's breasts, but nothing has worked."

Edzard rolled his eyes at Azazel upon hearing about Issei having a spell to listen to breasts.

"Spell to speak with breasts?" asked Edzard with a poker face.

"That's how it is. It seems that your friend has a spell with which he can read the thoughts or hear the voices of women's breasts. That added to his «Dress Breaker», well, no woman can fight him these days."

Edzard sighed upon hearing that.

'I can't believe such a spell exists…. I wonder what the breasts of Asia, Mittelt, Aika, Lint, Rossweisse, Valerie and the other girls I know would tell me?' Edzard thought, then slapped himself mentally as he realized what he was thinking. 'No, bad, Edzard bad, don't let Issei's perversion rub off on you.'

Shaking his head, he decided to focus on what he had to do, so he decided not to say anything about that spell. So, refocusing on Yasaka, he was about to start examining her closely. However, before he could do anything, the door to the room was thrown open abruptly. That caught the attention of everyone who was conscious in the room, who looked towards the door and saw that there was a young kitsune there, who was breathing heavily and had his body covered in sweat, a clear indication that he had been running non-stop.

Seeing one of her mother's subordinates, Kunou walked over and started talking to him.

"What's going on? Why are you so agitated?" asked Kunou with concern that they were under attack again.

"Kunou-sama. We found this vial among the clothes of one of the corpses of the two dead from the hero faction." The kitsune said as he took out a vial from under his clothes.

The bodies of both members of the hero faction had been teleported with them when False Kyoto ceased to exist. Unfortunately, the corpses fell on the spot where Edzard had been fighting Norgred, but luckily none of them took much damage during the course of the battle. So, after he received the news that Yasaka was unconscious, he sent Issei, Saji and Kiba to look for them to bring them and examine them, to see if they could find anything useful among their belongings. And it seemed they had managed to find something.

The moment the kitsune took out the vial, Edzard's eyes widened, because thanks to the fact that this vial was slightly broken, the smell of its contents was caught by his nose. Moving his hand quickly, she used «Telekinesis» to pull the vial towards him. That action caught everyone's attention, but that fell short when they saw how Edzard took the vial and, uncorking it, drank a minuscule amount of the vial's contents.

That made both Azazel and Kunou look at Edzard in horror.

"Edzard! What the fuck are you doing?!" Azazel yelled in panic seeing that.

The young Kunou also tried to yell, but as soon as she heard the bad words said by the leader of the Grigori, she decided to shut up.

"I see, that's why she doesn't wake up." Edzard said as he ignored everyone present.

Edzard's words caught Azazel's attention, but especially Kunou's, who quickly approached Edzard and began to ask him what was happening.

"It seems that your mother has been given a potent magical poison, which is capable of separating the mind from the physical body of the user." Edzard said as he reached into his bag and pulled out three vials of potions.

"What do you mean, Edzard?" Azazel asked as he watched Edzard mix the contents of those three potions in a new vial that he had previously taken out.

"The poison that has been supplied to her has caused her mind and body to be completely separated. That is why she has not been able to wake up, because her mind right now locked in a kind of metaphysical prison made by the properties of the poison." Edzard said as he finished mixing the three potions. "Normally, this poison would have to be purged by a unique antidote, designed just to treat this poison. But it seems that the members of the hero faction don't know anything about Nirmnians poisons, so they have given her small doses, which haven't completely separated her mind from her body. That actually makes things a lot easier, as a small potion created from a generic antidote along with Vitality Restoration Potion and Stamina will be more than enough to purge her of the poison. Or at least get her to wake up, but she'll have to take several doses for another day or two to be sure."

Edzard's words filled Kunou with hope, who closed her eyes and began to pray to the Shinto Gods for this to work. When she finished doing it, she turned all his attention to seeing how her mother would receive the antidote.

"Seems like you've become an expert in poisons and antidotes, right?" Azazel asked with a smile as he watched Edzard bring the vial to Yasaka's lips.

"It's not that difficult to be an alchemist, at least in Nirm. You just need perseverance and a lot of patience to get the necessary knowledge. In addition, the last few weeks I have been studying poisons and antidotes very intensively. Also, I have studied how healing potions affect devils." Edzard replied to then frown, as he saw that Yasaka did not react, not even to drink the contents of the potion. "Damn."

"What happened Edzard-sama?" Kunou asked with palpable concern as she watched Edzard push that antidote away from her mother.

"Your mother doesn't react enough to drink the potion independently." Edzard replied and then brought the potion to his lips. However, before drinking it, he looked at Kunou and Azazel. "Please, I don't want them to get the wrong idea of what I'm going to do."

Both Kunou and Azazel did not understand what Edzard was referring to, but then the leader of the Fallen understood what Edzard would do when he saw that he drank the potion, or at least it seemed so. What followed from that made Kunou's face flush to atomic levels when she saw how her friend's father seemed to kiss her mother. That action made the little Kitsune try to jump Edzard for kissing her mother, but she stopped abruptly when she saw how Edzard's lips moved, while it seemed that her mother was drinking something. After these actions, the young dragon separated from the Kitsune while a slight blush was present on his face, because he felt uncomfortable having done that.

Not a second after Edzard separated from Yasaka, she started moving her fingers on her hands.

"Looks like he's about to wake up already." After saying those words, Edzard moved away from Yasaka and approaching Kunou, he patted her head. "Come closer to her, she will be awake in a few moments. It would be good for her mental health if the first face she sees is her daughter's."

After those words, Kunou approached her mother and saw how she was beginning to wake up. Tears began to fill the eyes of the little girl, who pounced on her mother as soon as she was fully awake.

"Hahahue!" Kunou yelled as she clung to her mother with all of her strength.

Yasaka looked around the room in bewilderment, but then she recognized where she was and seeing her little daughter cry as she hugged her, she hugged her back while whispering soothing words.

That scene made Edzard smile before approaching Azazel and whispering to him. "Azazel, take it upon yourself to tell her what has happened."

Azazel looked at Edzard and nodded.

Seeing the response of the Fallen One, Edzard left the room in the direction of where his wife was, because when he saw her after the battle, she had a face that showed that she was worried about something, so without wasting time he went to talk with her.

Edzard walked through the corridors of the Yasaka palace with a very clear direction, the room where Lint was. He had just talked to Asia a few minutes ago and in that conversation, she told him that he should go to where Lint was, who was waiting for him to talk about something, but not only that, but she had also asked him to tell her some news dark for her.

'I don't understand how I'm going to tell Lint that Siegfried is dead.' Edzard thought as hundreds of scenarios went through his mind, some ending well and others badly.

Flashback

Edzard was together with Asia as they watched the bodies of the two members of the Hero faction being burned on funeral pyres.

"So, the white-haired one is the one who was Lint's teacher when she was training at the Sigurd Institute?" Edzard asked, staring at the pyre where that young man was being cremated.

"Yes." Asia answered as she finished dedicating prayers so that the souls of both humans would reach peace in the other world.

"How come he died?"

"According to Issei-san, both of them were attacked by Dagon's Champion and perished fighting him."

"I see. That explains why Lint's former teacher's body was so unrecognizable." Edzard pointed out as he watched as the body slowly began to turn to ash. "What else did Issei tell you?"

"It seems that Siegfried-san was a user of some powerful demon swords." Asia replied, putting her hand to her chin, remembering what Issei had told her.

"Demon swords?"

"That's right. Fortunately, we managed to recover them all." Asia replied.

"I see…. Where are they right now?"

"They are in a room in the palace being guarded by some youkai."

Edzard nodded, for that answer was a good one.

"Other than that, I have to tell you something, Ed." Spoke Asia, in a serious manner.

Edzard looked at his wife with a bit of concern, since the times when she spoke seriously were few.

Turning her face and walking towards him, Asia leaned close to his ear and whispered a few words to him. Said words left Edzard in shock.

"A-are you sure?" Edzard asked in astonishment.

"Yes, I spoke to her recently." Asia replied with a smile.

Edzard looked at her and sighed as he nodded.

End Flashback

After remembering how he found out that Siegfried was dead, he walked on without knowing how to tell Lint that he had died. When he got to Lint's room, he stopped and before opening the door, he took a deep breath of air to calm down, as he felt somewhat uneasy about breaking this news to Lint. Calmer now, Edzard put his hand on the doorknob and gently opened it.

"Lint." Edzard called softly as he entered the room.

The rooms that had been assigned to all the members of his group were simple. Almost all of them received individual rooms, except for him and his lovers, since they shared a room that was a little more decorated, while Marie shared a room with Kunou. The room assigned to Lint was a simple old Japanese-style room, which had a futon and a few basic furnishings, such as a desk, dresser, and mirror.

Scanning the place, Edzard's eyes widened in surprise when he saw Lint leaning against a wall with her face between her knees as sobs came out of her mouth. Seeing Lint in that state, he wasted no time and quickly approached her to take her hands.

"Lint, what's wrong?" Edzard asked worriedly as he knelt to try to see her face.

The young exorcist-turned-angel raised her face up and with teary eyes she looked at Edzard.

"I-I-I know, Ed... (sniff) I know Siegfried-sensei is dead... (sniff)." Lint replied between sobs.

Edzard's eyes widened in surprise upon hearing that, for it never crossed his mind that Lint might already have found out about Siegfried's death. So, he stood stone still not knowing what to do. He was in that state for a few seconds, until he managed to overcome that surprise. Already calmer, he reached up a hand and gently cupped Lint's chin with it.

"How did you find out?"

"I-I heard a... (sniff) Youkai mention it... (sniff)." Lint replied. "I heard it when…(sniff) mentioned that one of the two corpses…(sniff) had several demon swords with him."

"I see." Edzard said as he began to hug Lint. As he hugged her, he began stroking her back, whispering comforting words to her to calm her down.

Lint felt Edzard's arms wrap around her gently and with that she began to sob harder until she finally burst into tears. Lint's crying was so loud that she could be heard by anyone passing near the room.

She cried for a long time, until she finally managed to calm down. However, despite having calmed down, that did not mean that she was in a better state of mind, since the young woman considered that everything that had just happened today was something unfair, since this news had thrown to the ground what she had planned for this moment.

Flashback

Lint was looking at Asia very nervously. The reason for this was that she just plucked up the courage to ask her friend to let her into her family.

"S-So, A-Asia…. W-what do you a-answer?" Lint asked as she felt her cheeks heat up and her hands get sweaty from her nerves.

Edzard's wife just looked at her friend with a serious look, almost as if she was examining her not only physically, but as if she was able to see her soul and see all her secrets. That look made Lint more uncomfortable, who began to squirm for several minutes, until finally that look disappeared.

"You took too long to ask, Lint." Asia said as she put a smile on her face.

Asia's words made Lint look at her puzzled, because she didn't understand what was happening now or why she had that smile on her face.

"W-w-what…?" Tried to ask Lint, only to run her hands through her hair in slight frustration, then proceeded to lightly tug at a few strands of her hair. "Ahhh…. I don't understand. You are not angry?"

"Angry? Why would she be angry because of what you tell me?"

"It is that you see…. I am asking you to let me be your husband's concubine. Doesn't that make you angry?"

Hearing Lint's reiteration of the question, Asia only giggled before answering him. "Do you think that would make me angry, Lint? I already knew that you were in love with my husband for a long time."

Lint froze when she heard that.

"H-how?" asked Lint still in shock.

"It's easy, Lin. You had the same look I had when I started falling for Ed." Asia replied with a smile as she blushed slightly.

"I-I see…" Lint said as she felt a weight lift off of her, but a few seconds later, she realized something. So, looking at Asia, she asked her. "Asia, do you know what…?

"That Ingvild and Rossweisse are also in love with Ed." Asia responded quickly.

Lint just nodded awkwardly, not expecting her to respond so quickly.

"So, they..."

"No, they can't even get close to Ed like that." Asia interrupted sharply.

"But…"

"There are no buts, Lint." Asia said as she frowned. "The fact that I know that they are in love with my husband is not the permission for them to be members of this family."

"I don't quite understand… Why are you being so closed about this? I mean…you already allowed me to become Ed's lover. So why not do the same to them to get it over with faster?"

Seeing that Lint had a confused look, Asia began to explain to her that her accepting that they can join them was not only to confirm their feelings, but it was for them to find the necessary courage to face what it is to be in a polygamous relationship, as this was not easy to bear. Although everything seemed rosy, that was because each one of those who made up that relationship did their own bit to make the relationship work.

"I see, that's why I have to ask you first."

"That's right, Lint. Not only because Ed gave me the power to decide if a woman can enter the family, but also for me to tell them what they will face once we are family." Asia said taking Lint by her hands. "That's why I'm asking you, Lint. Are you completely sure about taking this step?"

Lint looked at Asia and nodded, as she didn't plan on backing down now.

"Well." Said Asia with a smile and then began to talk to her about what her life would be like with their family.

End Flashback

"I really feel that this is unfair." She whispered Lint as she continued to be held in Edzard's arms. Why today of all days? Why on the day I was planning to tell you how I felt did I have to find out about this?

Lint's words echoed in Edzard's mind, confirming what his wife had told him not long ago. So, putting on a smile, he asked Lint for something. "Lint, can you raise your face for a moment?"

The young woman was confused by Edzard's request, but she did it anyway. When she lifted her face, Lint's world turned upside down and that is that as soon as she looked into Edzard's eyes, he kissed her on her lips. The kiss that Edzard was giving her was tender and she just stood there without responding correctly, because her mind was still trying to understand what she was thinking. In fact, her mind still didn't understand everything when Edzard separated from her.

"Lint?" Edzard asked worried when he saw that Lint was there, still, like a statue. So, to see if she was okay, he started to wave a hand in front of her face. "Earth to Lint."

What followed his words was something that Edzard never expected, as Lint grabbed his face and gave him a kiss on the lips. Thanks to her making that move when Edzard was distracted, she managed to make him fall onto the futon. The kiss was clumsy, but he did not hesitate to reciprocate it. And so, they both continued kissing until the lack of air separated them, only to kiss again when they caught their breath. And so, they were kissing for a long time, but they never got to anything more, because both Edzard and Lint knew that it wasn't the time yet to take that next step.

"Now you are calmer." Edzard said as he ran his right hand through the hair of Lint, who was resting on his chest.

"Yeah, thanks, Ed." Lint said as she closed her eyes.

"Well, you know something, I came to talk to you about Siegfried's death."

"I see, it was Asia who asked you to tell me, right?" Lint asked as she looked at Edzard.

Edzard nodded. "Yes, she wanted me to tell you in the softest way. But it looks like it wasn't necessary."

"Yes, it seems that way..." Lint said before letting out a yawn.

"Rest Lint and don't worry, I'll stay here with you tonight." Edzard said as he kissed Lint on the top of the head.

Lint put on a smile and closed her eyes to dream of the new family she had obtained.

Author's note:

To those who have made it this far, Thanks for reading. Because being honest, I don't know how to write much in English and I'm relying on Google translators and the dictionaries that come with office 2019.

And here chapter 47...

The invasion in Kyoto has finally ended…. or maybe not…. XD

Lint finally steps up to be the Dovahkiin's lover, and we see that Edzard has a new weakness, Oblivion poisons, which are the only ones that do him any damage.
