So, I updated this recently since I decided to go through it and reread it.
I edited it, so here is the updated version.
Also, this is from Laxus' perspective.
I never thought I could fall in love.
I was Laxus Dreyar. I was a new girl every night kind of guy.
But love?
No, it wasn't for me, or so I thought.
But lo and behold, I was wrong.
I was aware of her since she first showed up in the guild. Something about her called to me. But I kept my distance due to her teammates.
They can be intense if you know what I mean. I'd watch her from the second floor, and my team thought I had lost my mind. They didn't know what was wrong with me. Hell, I didn't know what was wrong with me.
"Dad? Mommy said no cursing when telling stories." I heard my son say to me. I rolled my eyes. "Mommy also said it's not nice to roll your eyes at someone." My son said.
"Want to hear the rest of the story or not? Your sisters are sitting here and quietly listening." I said with a raised eyebrow.
He huffed. "Fine. But if mommy knew!" I gave him a look that made him snap his mouth closed.
Anyway, where was I?
Oh yeah, my team was down and outright confused. But it wasn't until one day when I was caught staring at your mom that my team noticed.
Bicks, of course, had to be his usual perverted self which in turn caused me to shock him.
"Daddy! Mommy says it's not nice to randomly shock people!" My one daughter yelled to me.
"And mommy's right, Layla. But back then, I didn't care. Which is what got me into a lot of trouble. Now, can I continue?" I asked.
She looked like she was in deep thought before she nodded.
I sweat dropped at her. She's just like her mother.
Right, so after my team called me out, I caved.
"Okay, Boss, spill. Why have you been acting weird? I mean, you normally ignore us, but this is not normal. We can at least get a growl or grunt out of you, but we can't even get that." Bicks asked.
"Looks like he's in love." Ever said with a smirk.
That is the one sentence that got my full attention.
"WHAT?! No way in hell!" I snapped.
I was shocked that she would come up with that conclusion in the first place.
"Oh, Laxus, don't you dare try and deny it. It's written all over your face. So, tell us, who can you not get out of your mind?" Ever asked in a sassy tone.
"Dad. It's Aunt Ever. She's always sassy, no matter the situation. It's just how she is." My son said with an irritated sigh.
"Yes, I'm aware. But you can never say that to her face. That fan of hers does actually hurt." I grumbled. "Now, can I continue?" I asked, annoyed with the interruptions.
He gave an annoyed sigh but nodded.
Okay, so after I dodged their questions and assumptions for an hour, I finally gave in and told them everything.
Which was a bad idea at the time since I didn't realize Mira was behind me because she was bringing up our drinks.
I only knew when she let out a loud squeal. I had to cover my ears because of how loud she was. But I wasn't the only one who had to cover their ears. The other slayers held their ears too.
"What the fuck, She-demon?" I growled in annoyance.
"Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god!" Mira continued to squeal.
I thought my life was over by the look on the demon's face. But luckily, thank the heavens for Freed.
"Mira darling. Let Laxus do this on his own. You can't get involved. Do you remember the whole Cana and Bacchus situation? They still refuse to speak to each other." Freed said.
"Wait?! Aunt Cana liked that Quatro Cerberus trash?" My son ever so (im)politely interrupted me again.
"Now, son, that's not nice. They are still allies of ours." I said as I slid a hand down my face.
"What? Bailey is a jerk!" My son said as he puffed out his cheek.
"Oh? What did Bailey do?" I asked curiously as to why he would call someone he called his best friend last week a jerk.
"He was flirting with Layla!" My son yelled.
To say I was pissed was an understatement.
"Seth! He was just being nice!" Layla pouted.
"No! He even admitted that he was just my friend because I have, and I quote 'hot sisters'!" My son growled.
I sighed. "This is why I'm keeping them locked until they're fifty." I grumbled. "Can I continue? You are the ones who asked me to tell you the story of how your mother and I met and fell in love, remember?" I asked, annoyed.
"Yes, Daddy!" Layla smiled.
She has her mom's smile with my eyes and hair color, whereas our son has her hair and eyes and somehow my cocky grin.
Go figure.
Then there is Zoey, who has her mom's hair and my eyes and is very shy.
So unlike either of us.
Anyway, Mira wasn't happy about being reminded of her failed ship. But, of course, she was still determined to stick her nose where it didn't belong.
"Her birthday is coming up! You could get her something!" Mira heavily suggested.
And when I say that, it wasn't actually a suggestion. It was more like an order.
"She doesn't even know me, probably doesn't even know I exist." I grumbled, still staring at your mother, smiling and laughing.
She had the most infectious laugh you've ever heard.
"Dad, focus." Seth growled in annoyance.
Right right.
Anyway, it seemed like she dropped it for the time being, which I was relieved but it was short-lived when I overheard the conversation from the bar.
Mira actually approached her at the bar. Can you believe it? Trust me. She doesn't have the name she-demon for no reason.
"Oh, Lucy!" Mira said in a sing-song-like voice.
"Hi, Mira! Why are you so happy all of a sudden? Did Freed finally propose?" Your mother said with an evil-looking smile.
It was sexy as hell but evil at the same time.
Mira's face got so red it wasn't even funny when she shook her head rapidly. "N-N-No! Nothing like that! I was just wondering what you want for your birthday. It's coming up, right?" Mira asked quickly, changing the subject.
"Oh! Yeah." Your mother said shyly with a blush. The blush just made her look even better, in my opinion. But still. "Well... This new movie is coming out, and I wanted to see it in the worst way, but Lev and Cana can't go. Not to mention Cana doesn't even like the books that the movies are based on. And Lev is going on a job with Gaj finally!" Your mother said with a giggle. "And well, no one on my team even knows I like this series, let alone know what it is. I don't think it would be safe even to take Natsu or Gray to the theater, to begin with. I mean, they wreck the guild on a daily basis just arguing. Can you imagine them in a theater?" Your mother exclaimed.
Yes, I was listening intently to this conversation.
"Oh my, you're right! That would end badly! Oh, what about the outdoor theater?" Mira suggested.
"Hm? Ever heard the term forest fire?" Your mother said cheekily.
"Good point. Hm. Oh! I know the perfect person!" Mira said happily, which made me panic.
That demon, I knew she was up to no good.
"Oh? Who?" Your mother asked in a curious tone.
"Oh, my sister and Ever! They would both love to go with you! Lisanna because she wants to get to know you more and Ever... Well, her only true friends are the Thunder Legion." Mira said sadly.
I was wondering where Mira was heading with this. I thought she would say my name, but she didn't.
"Oh? Well, Lis would most likely want to bring Natsu, which I already said was out of the question. Ever? Wouldn't she want to bring Elfman? I mean, it's not exactly a girl group type movie." Your mother explained with a blush.
That's when I saw that evil sparkle in Mira's eye.
"Oh?! Really? So it's more of a date-type movie?" Mira asked, making herself sound curious.
"Yeah. But that's why I wouldn't have minded going with either Cana or Lev. Though Cana likes to get touchy when she's drunk. I don't know if she would have been a good choice. But Lev loves the same book series as I do, so it wouldn't have been weird like it would be with everyone else." Your mother explained.
Honestly, I couldn't follow her logic on it at all. She made it sound like she and Levy were a thing.
"But isn't Aunt Levy with Uncle Gajeel?" Layla asked.
I sighed. "Yes, she is. But as I said, it's how she made it sound. Now pay attention!" I said in annoyance.
But anyway, Mira looked like she was deep in thought about it.
"Well. I could lend you Freed, for the night." Mira said, making even my jaw drop.
Freed just looked like a tomato.
"Um. No, thank you, Mira. I mean, we get along when it comes to books but going to a movie? Yeah no. But you're both welcome to come along if I ever find someone to go with me." Your mother said with a smile.
God, that smile.
"Dad!" Seth growled.
I sighed. "All right! Sorry, I can't help it that your mother's gorgeous. Give me a break." I said, grumbling at the end.
Anyway, Mira looked deep in thought in thought again.
"Well, there's Bickslow?" Mira said.
What seriously!? Bicks? Come on!
"Yeah, no. Cana would definitely kill me on that one." Your mother said, crossing her arms and leaning onto the bar.
Okay, my eyes traveled to her ass for a few seconds because she has a great-looking ass.
"Can you worry about checking Mom out later? Get on with the story, Dad!" Layla said.
I chuckled.
I loved my kids at times.
Right anyway, Mira, then being the demon she is, decided to list off every guy's name but mine, which in turn, your mom gave a reason why they wouldn't be good choices.
I was getting annoyed, and I was wondering what game she was playing at.
"See, Mira, there's no one in this guild that would one, want to go and two, want to go with me. Not to mention their all so rowdy ALL the time! We'd get kicked out instantly." Your mother said in a defeated tone.
Mira crossed her arms, looking like she was deep in thought again when that evil smirk of hers appeared.
"Oh! I know the perfect person! And you can't say no!" Mira said, and I swear there were actual sparkles in her eyes.
"Who?" Your mother asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It'll have to be a surprise since you shot everyone else I mentioned down! They'll pick you up on Friday!" Mira chirped.
I swear that woman is pure evil!
"Mira! That's not fair!" Your mother whined.
Yes, she did whine a lot, come to think of it, but that's not the point.
"Oh yes, it is! You've shot everyone I've mentioned down, so with this one, I'm not taking the chance of you shooting this one down!" Mira said with a no-arguments tone.
Your mother sighed. "Fine." She said, defeated. "But they better not be destructive and actually look good." Your mother said after finishing her strawberry milkshake.
"Mommy really likes those, doesn't she?" Zoey spoke up for the first time.
I chuckled. "Yes, she does. She's slightly obsessed with them." I said.
"Slightly? Dad, that's putting it mildly." Seth said, laying back with his arms behind his head.
Yup, my kid, all right.
"Yeah, I know, but I'm trying to be nice." I said and glared at my son when he snorted, making me roll my eyes.
Right anyway, your mom left the guild since it was getting late, and Mira came back up to me with that devilish smile on her face. Before she could say anything, I put my hand up to stop her.
"No! Not happening! I'm not doing it. I don't do Movies or dates, and you know that!" I growled, totally annoyed.
"Dad, when aren't you annoyed by something." Seth asked with a smirk.
Sometimes I wonder where he gets his attitude from.
"Keep interrupting me, and you'll be my next target." I growled.
"You can try, but I can eat your lightning, you know." Seth said in a smug tone flashing his canines at me.
I glared at him. "Yeah, my regular lightning, not my red lightning." I said in an equally smug tone.
I saw him cringe. The last time he tried, he burnt his mouth. It sure showed him not to be so smug and cocky.
"Both of you stop! Daddy! The story!" Zoey whined.
I chuckled.
Right, sorry.
Well, anyway, Mira wasn't letting up.
"But please, Laxus! It would mean so much to her!" Mira pleaded with sad puppy eyes.
Now they don't work on me, so I could easily ignore them.
"No, Mira. Not happening." I growled.
So she decided to play dirty. "You owe me, Laxus. After all, I could always tell master about the shower room incident." Mira ever so nicely threatened.
"What's the shower room incident?" Layla asked.
"Oh, um. Nothing, forget it. It was a LONG time ago." I said in a slight panic.
Anyway, I couldn't believe she would bring that up, of all things.
"Mira." I growled.
"You'll do it! And you'll take her to dinner, then the movie. It doesn't start till 9 pm, so if you pick her up at 7 pm, you should have plenty of time to eat and make it there." Mira said in a winning tone.
"No, Mira! I can't. I don't do dates. I go home with a woman, have my fun, and leave. I don't do dates." I said as I raked my hand through my hair.
"It's for her birthday Laxus! She hasn't had a nice birthday in a few years. On her one birthday, we were all at the games, and she was in the infirmary. Then the next one, the guild, was disbanded. Then there was the attack from Alvarez." Mira listed off using her hand.
To say I felt a bit bad about the whole thing was an understatement.
"Ugh! Fine, Mira. I'll do it!" I said, letting my head fall to the table. "This is so not going to go well. I'm horrible when it comes to these things." I said although the table muffled it.
"Don't worry, Laxus, we'll help you!" Freed said ever so valiantly.
I groaned. "Greaaaat!" I said with a roll of my eyes.
Okay, so Friday was three days away. And to say I was dreading it was an understatement. I've said it a million times. I didn't do dates. I don't do movies or dinners. It's just not something I did.
So when Friday came around, I was nervous.
Yeah, I know, right? I, Laxus Dreyar, was nervous about going on a date. I had met with Mira, Freed, Ever, and Bicks at my house, and they spent hours arguing over what I should wear, how I should act, and where I was taking her.
Everything!
They argued about everything. It was nearly 5 pm when they all finally agreed.
They got me to wear a light blue button-up dress shirt, dark dress pants, and dress shoes. They made me slick my hair back instead of it being spiky like it usually was. I felt so out of place it wasn't even funny.
I noticed around 6 pm Mira and Ever had disappeared, which confused me, but hey, two fewer people to annoy me about all this was fine with me.
"Relax, Boss. It'll be fine! It's just Cheerleader. She's way too nice to turn you away." Bicks said with a smirk.
To tell you the truth, that smirk scared me.
"Why did I let her talk me into this?" I grumbled.
"Because it's Mira. She wouldn't have let up until you did. Trust me on that one." Freed said with a shiver.
Honestly, I didn't want to know why.
"Why is this so nerve wreaking? I've never felt this nervous ever!" I groaned.
Bicks just fell off the arm of the couch laughing. Freed looked sympathetic.
"Relax, Laxus. Everything will be fine." Freed said, sounding supportive.
"Yeah, it's just for today, right? It's not like you'll be going out with her again." Bicks pointed out.
I mean, he did have a point at the time.
"Wait. So you didn't want to go out with mommy?" Layla asked with a tilt of her head.
"It's not like that. I liked your mom too much for my liking at the time. But I didn't do relationships back then. It just wasn't me. Just wait and listen, okay? No more interruptions." I said, poking her nose and making her giggle.
But anyway, here I was getting a pep talk from Bicks and Freed, and I just kept getting even more nervous by the second. Nothing they were saying was helping.
Bicks said I wasn't going to go out with her again, and that's the thing that bothered me for some reason. I actually wanted to go out with her, but as I said, it wasn't who I was.
But 6:30 pm was there, and I had to go. I had to pick her up, and hopefully, she would be willing to go with me. That's why I was nervous because I was, and I will deny this till the day I die. I was afraid of her rejecting me.
Do you believe that?
I finally said screw it and teleported two blocks from her apartment at the time. I decided to walk part of the way to calm my nerves, hopefully.
When I got to her apartment, I heard her inside, and that's when I realized where Mira and Ever had disappeared. They went to her place to help her. I felt better knowing I wasn't the only one who was getting roped into this.
I looked at the time, and it was 6:55 pm. I figured why not be a bit early shows good intentions, right?
Well, instead of going up to her door, I waited that five minutes and then went up to her door. I knocked and heard a bunch of squeals on the other side of the door. I listened to your mom take a deep breath before she opened the door.
The look on her face said it all. She had no clue it was me that Mira had in mind. Her eyes went wide, and her mouth opened ever so slightly. I wanted to laugh, but I couldn't. I felt just as surprised as her with what she was wearing.
My god, she was breathtaking. The dress she wore put her everyday skirts to shame. Red, strapless, and it came to about her mid-thigh. Her hair was up in a bun. She looked amazing.
"Laxus." I heard her say ever so softly that if I weren't a dragon slayer, I wouldn't have heard it.
I think that's when it dawned on her that Mira had never mentioned my name the other day.
"Hey there, Blondie." I said, keeping my usual smug look on my face.
I know I was smug then, but I'm not going to deny it.
I heard her gulp, "H-H-Hi La-La-Laxus." She stuttered. I thought she was adorable before. Now I just made it even more accurate. "I'll be right back." She said as she smiled sheepishly.
She closed the door, and I heard her going off on Mira and Ever for not telling her that it was me that Mira chose.
After what seemed like days, it was actually barely five minutes. She opened the door and closed it behind her. I think she was scared to look at me. She kept looking down the whole time. And believe me when I tell you your mom can talk someone's ears off to no end.
But she was quieter than a mouse. She was just as nervous as I was. I could literally feel it coming off her in waves. I didn't feel as bad then. We walked to the restaurant took us five or ten minutes of walking. Most of it was silent. Well, that was until Loke came out to glare at me.
Loke pulled me to the side to give me the typical threatening lecture you give someone when going out on a date with someone close to them. I would tell you what Loke said, but I'll leave it out since it's not something for children to actually hear.
But after getting a glare from your mom, he bowed and returned to the spirit world. I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.
"Sorry about him! If the others could come out, they most likely would." Your mother said as she scratched the back of her head.
I chuckled. "It's fine. I kind of expected it. Considering it's me and all." I said, trying to ease her worry.
"Yeah, but they're a bit ridiculous when it comes to being overprotective." Your mother giggled. "So. How did Mira con you into this?" Your mother asked with a knowing smile.
And why I wasn't overly surprised. She figured it out. I don't know.
"Long story. The short version, she said something about you not having the greatest of birthdays lately and that you deserve to have at least one nice birthday." I said, looking up to the sky.
I was still slightly nervous when it came to talking to her.
"That was nice of her." Your mother said, looking down.
She sounded sad for some reason, and I couldn't figure out why. Did she not want to go? I didn't know. I figured I'd ask her later about it over dinner.
We arrived at the restaurant, we were seated, and it turned out that I kind of knew a few of the women that worked there. To say none of them were happy about seeing me with your mom was putting it mildly.
It annoyed me that they were being so rude to her, so I made it a point to focus all my attention on your mother and ignored the other women, which none of them liked that.
Although your mother found it funny that they all looked like they were plotting against her, which, honestly, she wasn't wrong. I could hear them from where we sat, which is why I didn't let her out of my sight.
But we talked through dinner and discovered we had more in common than we initially thought. We left the restaurant, and we still had about forty-five minutes till the movie would start, so we decided to walk. My original plan was to teleport us, but since we were done eating early, I figured it would be nicer to walk.
I had asked her what movie we were going to see, and when she told me, I groaned. I've seen the books the movie was based on plastered everywhere. But when I saw her face at that reaction, I decided to give it a shot. I mean, what's the worst that could happen, right? Well, before I could agree, she said something that made me regret reacting the way I did.
"You don't have to come. I know it's not for everyone." She said in a sad tone. But what confused me was the smile that she still had on her face. "I still had a nice time, so don't worry about it." She added.
I sighed. "Nah. Come on, we'll be late if we stand here too much longer." I said, holding my arm out to her to take.
She stared at me like I had grown a second head. I wanted to chuckle but couldn't after her face softened, and she linked her arm with mine.
We walked to the theater and got there just in time to get a decent spot to watch from. The movie was okay. I mean, it's not the greatest I've ever seen, but she loved it. Seeing her face like that made it worth it. I ended up laying on my side with my elbow propped up, holding my head up.
And your mother, she was laying back against me. It had gotten a bit cold, and I would feel bad if she got a cold because she didn't bring a jacket. So, I threw my coat over her shoulders.
"Aw! Daddy, you can be sweet!" Layla said, earning her a glare.
But when the other two started laughing, I just about gave up.
"Can it, kid." I growled.
I shook my head and sighed when my daughters climbed into my lap.
Anyway, after the movie, I decided actually to teleport her home. Apparently, she really liked that. She was like a little kid in a candy shop after we landed. She wanted to do it again. I couldn't help but laugh, and why I said what I said, I don't know.
"Maybe another time. It's getting late now. And it sounds like you still have company inside." I pointed out, motioning to her apartment, which now had an open window.
"Natsu." Lucy growled. "I'm going to strangle his good-for-nothing dragon-slaying ass." She continued.
"Wow. Mommy really does get mad at Uncle Natsu." Seth said.
I and his sisters all nodded our heads.
Anyway!
I asked if she needed any help, and she said she could handle Natsu and not to worry.
Again I shocked myself.
"We should do this again sometime. I actually had fun." I said unknowingly out loud.
"Really?" She asked.
I chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, I did. I wouldn't mind getting roped into taking you out again, actually." I teased.
Apparently, she felt comfortable enough with me because she smacked my chest with the back of her hand.
"Jerk! I wasn't that bad of company, was I?" She asked with a pout.
I chuckled. "No, you weren't. Like I said. I wouldn't mind doing this again. Only if it's okay with you, that is?" I said, looking away.
"Yeah, I'd like that. Thanks again, Laxus. Tonight was great." She said.
I was about to walk away, but I felt something hit my cheek lightly. I saw your mother pulling away from my face when I looked over. I was stunned. She actually kissed me on the cheek. We didn't say anything else, and she just went inside with what I was pretty sure was a massive blush across her face.
I chuckled, and I was about to leave when I heard her yell Natsu's name, and not even a second later, Natsu came flying out her window. And let me tell you, she has one strong kick. Natsu hit the buildings on the other side of the canal.
That's when I heard her shut her window, muttering something about dense dragon slayers. I took offense to that too, but since it was mainly directed at Natsu, I let it go. So, then I teleported home, where my team and Mira met me.
They all wanted details. That I wasn't giving. Bicks, for some reason, left it alone and got the others to go with him. I didn't sleep that night. My head was still spinning from the events of the day. By the time I was actually ready to go to bed, the sun was up again, and my lacrima comm was going off.
"So that's how you both fell in love?" Layla asked curiously.
"No. Not quite. We didn't start dating for another two years." I chuckled when their jaws dropped.
"But?!" Seth stammered.
"Now wait, listen to the rest of the story. That was just our first unofficial date." I said, rolling my eyes at Seth's dramatic act of falling backward onto the floor.
Anyways, after that, we talked on occasion. Small chit-chat here and there. But it was about a year later, around her birthday again. I still watched her every day. Like nothing has changed. Mira was talking to her again, and here there was another movie coming out that was based on the second book of the series.
Same problem as before. But this time, Mira said my name first. But what your mother said after that shocked me.
"Why not ask Laxus to go with you? You had fun last time, right?" Mira asked.
"Yeah, we did. It's just... I don't think he'd go. I mean, he didn't exactly enjoy the movie exactly. He said he had fun, but I'm not sure if he meant it or was just saying that. I mean, it's Laxus. I know of his reputation. I just-" Your mother started when Mira cut her off.
"Lucy. Now you listen here! Yes, Laxus is a womanizing man-whore, but he wouldn't do anything to make you uncomfortable. Did he try anything last time?!" Mira asked.
Boy, did I want to shock her for saying that. But I left it go.
"No. He was really sweet, actually." Your mother said shyly.
"Then what's the problem?" Mira asked, crossing her arms.
Apparently, she wasn't letting her talk herself out of this one.
"Isn't that part of his act, though? Be nice and charming just to get what he wants?" Your mother asked.
Yes, I was mad at her for saying something like that. But I couldn't blame her for thinking that.
"No! He's not like that! The women that go after him only want to sleep with him just to say they did! Tell me, is that what you want?" Mira asked, putting your mother in a corner.
"No! How could you think that!? Especially after..." Your mother said, but she trailed off.
Now I was curious as to what she was talking about. Why do you ask? Well, for one, her face was bright red, and for two, she was fidgeting.
"Exactly! Now, why not ask him to go?" Mira said, still pushing the issue.
"Because. He's not going to want to. Why would he waste his time with me? I mean, he's Laxus Dreyar, for heaven's sake! Why would he waste his time on someone like me?" Your mother said with a pout.
Mira sighed. She still had the sparkle in her eye that showed she was up to no good.
"Fine. How about me, you and Lis all go? I enjoyed the first movie when it came out! You said it was great, so I made Freed take me." Mira giggled.
"All right. I guess I'll be fine with you guys." Your mother said in a sad tone.
So, your mom finished her milkshake after making plans with Mira and Lisanna about that Friday, and once your mother was gone, Mira came upstairs.
Before she could say anything, I figured out what she was up to.
"Fine. I'll do it. I take her. But instead of going out to dinner, pack a picnic basket." I said, standing up from my seat.
I waved to them behind me, descended the stairs, and headed out the door to go home. This time I was doing things my way. Last time was a bit awkward, so I figured let's avoid the old flames this time around.
"Old flames?" Zoey asked.
"I'll explain it to you when you're older." I sighed.
"He means the girls he used to mess around with." Seth decided to put his two cents in.
"Ohhhh." Zoey said in understanding.
I shook my head with a sigh.
Anyway.
Friday had come around, and once again, I was nervous because Mira said to be there by 8:30 pm. That way, we'd have plenty of time to get to the theater and set up the picnic.
So I waited again and then knocked on the door. I heard her yell, 'Be there in a minute Mira!' from the other side of the door. I had to bite back a chuckle so she wouldn't figure out it was me. But her face when she opened the door was priceless.
"Expecting someone else, Blondie?" I asked.
Her mouth opened and closed a few times before she hung her head.
"I'm going to kill that demon." I heard her mutter.
I chuckled. "You and me both. Come on, so we don't miss any of it." I said, holding out my arm for her.
She looked up at me and smiled while shaking her head, but she closed and locked her door and took my arm. We both went to the movie like last time, but he had dinner with us this time. So we ate and watched the movie.
Even after the movie was over, we walked and talked instead of teleporting and got back to her place, and the same thing happened, but this time I was expecting it. So, yeah, I played dirty a little bit. When I felt her close to my cheek, I turned my head toward her and actually kissed her that time.
I figured it might be the only time I would get this chance, so I took it. Granted, it didn't last long, but I wasn't expecting it to. I just wanted to catch her off guard as she did to me the year before.
I chuckled at her red face. The whole time she was walking away, she was cursing at dragon slayers in general. I found it funny. But I actually burst out laughing when Natsu once again came flying out her window.
And just like the last time, my team and Mira were waiting for me. But this time, I gave them a brief rundown of the night. Leaving out the part where I kissed your mom. Mira would have killed me if she had found out.
"So That's when you guys fell in love?" Layla asked.
"Nope, not yet. Well. I was in love with her but didn't know about her." I said, shrugging it off like it was no big deal.
"What?! Come on! Two years?" Seth dramatically exclaimed.
I chuckled. "As I said, it was two years after the first unofficial date that we got together. Now, do you want to hear the rest of the story?" I asked and chuckled when they all nodded.
Okay, so, again, we would talk here and there after that. We actually ended up being each other's Secret Santa that year.
That was interesting.
But it wasn't until two weeks before her birthday that I asked her out. Mainly because I knew I'd get roped into taking her to the third movie.
Yes, for her birthday, I took her to see it.
That day we were planning on going, the entire guild somehow found out about it, and I pretty much had to dodge swords, fireballs, ice, and huge gusts of wind that were trying to blow me across the guild.
So, after your mom's team attacked, the rest of the guild joined in. But they stopped when your mom jumped in front of me. She had her three strongest spirits and was in her Leo star dress. Let me tell you. Your mom is kick ass!
Gramps was the only one who didn't get involved, which bothered me for some reason. I guess it's because I wanted his approval and permission in a weird sense. I mean, your mom is his favorite, not that he would ever say it out loud. I tried to talk to him, but he kept saying he was busy. I wanted to break down his door, but I knew I had to get ready to take your mom out on an official date this time.
Yes, it was our first official date, but in my opinion, it was our third.
Just don't tell your mom that.
So, I took her out this time to a restaurant and came across some women who I had met before. But I didn't pay them any mind. Your mom was the only one in my eyes. And I pulled out all the stops for this, and I went all out. We both had brought extra clothes to change into for the movie because the clothes we wore were way too much for the movie.
We ate, and I think I saw Gramps at the restaurant. I think he was checking up on me, but to this day, I'm still not sure. But it didn't matter. I made up my mind that day that I would marry your mom one day, and I wasn't going to let her tell me no.
"You were going to force Mommy into marrying you?" Zoey asked.
"No, nothing like that. I just wasn't going to give up until she said yes." I explained.
So anyway.
After dinner and we got to the movie after we changed, we once again ended up in the same position we were in the first time.
Now, this movie was better than the first two. I'll tell you that. I actually paid attention to this one. I hate to say it, but she kind of got me into it.
After that night, I ended up reading the books just to know what she was talking about with Levy.
Just don't tell her that.
Okay, so, Christmas that year, Gramps held a Party that involved all the other guilds that we were allied with. Now all the slayers were together.
So, you can imagine how that all went.
"Was it like last year's Christmas party?" Seth asked.
"Sort of. Just minus all of you little ones. Well, Mini and Luka were there. But they were still babies. Two months old, I believe." I said, allowing the interruption this time.
"So, Mini and Luka are the oldest?" Layla asked.
I thought about it for a minute and nodded. "I think so. I think Alec was born around then, too, I'm not sure. You'll have to ask your mother about that one. She pays attention to all the kids more than I do. My hands are full with the guild's paperwork and you three monsters!" I growled playfully, tickling Zoey since Layla flew off my lap before I could.
"DADDY! STOP IT!" Zoey yelled through her giggles.
I stopped as I ruffled her hair. "All right now, can I finish the story?" I asked.
"Wait, that's not the whole story?" Seth asked. I shook my head. "How long is it?!" Seth asked.
I shrugged. "You're the ones who asked to hear the full story, not the short version. I can stop if you like. But I can tell you I don't think your mom was in love with me at that time yet." I said with a smirk.
"When did she fall in love with you?" Zoey asked.
Well, that Christmas at the party, Mira somehow managed to get me and your mom caught under the mistletoe. And with Mira, it's not so easy to get out of it. She has Freed enchant them to where the first two people who step under it get caught in a cage, and the kiss has to last for more than a minute.
Yes, your aunt is pure evil.
Well, needless to say, your mom and I got caught under it.
Or so I thought.
I thought it was weird because she wasn't dressed festively like she usually is during these parties, but she kept using the excuse that Natsu burned her outfit so she couldn't wear it.
Okay, everyone bought it, including me.
So, when we got caught, I had no problems, but she did.
"What's wrong, Blondie? Nervous about being seen with me?" I said smugly, leaning against the cage. She shook her head. "Then what is it?" I asked.
"Um... Well... We... I mean, I... Um... WE CAN'T!" Your mother yelled.
I raised an eyebrow looking at her like she had lost her mind.
"And why not?" I asked.
I felt a bit hurt. I won't lie.
She looked back and forth around the guild in a panic. I didn't understand it.
"Lucy, you'll get out as soon as you and Laxus kiss. You know my rules!" Mira said in a sing-song-like voice.
"But-But... LEO!" Your mother yelled.
Now, that was weird. Something was really off since your mom never called Loke, Leo. It's always been, Loke. But lo and behold, he appeared, so we didn't think anything of it.
But when he appeared, he looked at your mom, who had a pleading look on her face. But when he burst out laughing, I was ready to shock everyone.
"Leo! Where is she?!" Your mother whined.
And yeah, I found that weird.
"Mira, bring down the cage. Please. My princess would not be happy if those two were forced to kiss." Loke had said in between laughs.
"Loke?! You know my rules!" Mira scolded.
"I know! But that's not Lucy!" Loke just about fell on the floor from laughing so hard.
"But who is she then? Lucy doesn't have a twin?!" Mira wasn't happy.
Even though she had Freed bring it down while she was waiting for Loke to finish laughing. But we all understood when we heard your mother speak again and what happened afterward.
So, your mother turned into two little blue floating creatures and said, "We're sorry! We really are! But Lucy had to run to do something at the last minute, so she had us come instead!"
So, yeah, it ended up being Gemini the whole time, which is why I finally understood why she was so nervous.
But about two hours later, your real mother showed up dressed up in her usual Christmas attire, and she was panting like she was out of breath. But she was holding a wrapped box when she came running in.
Now I'll cut to the chase. Your mom decided to go Christmas shopping to get me a gift, from what Loke says, she was trying to figure out what to get me for weeks but couldn't figure it out but figured it out right before having to come to the party.
So, she asked Gemini to turn into her and come to the party for her so no one would know she had left, and so I wouldn't know she went shopping for me.
When she saw me in the guild, she was about to come to me when a stray attack from one of the brawls flew straight at your mom. Your mom was so tired from keeping Gemini's gate open and being so far from where Gemini was she didn't have enough energy to block it or to get out of the way.
I don't know why I reacted. I just did. We were only going out for a few months, but I loved her a lot longer than that, but I had just kept it hidden from her. But I used my lightning form to get to her quickly and get her out of the way. Needless to say, after I knew your mom was safe, I lost my temper a bit.
"What is a bit according to you, Daddy?" Zoey asked.
"Your father decided to electrocute everyone whether they were a part of the brawl or not." I heard my wife say behind me.
I gulped. "How long have you been there, Love?" I asked sheepishly.
"Long enough to know that you've been keeping secrets from me." She said with that damn smirk on her face.
"Well, at least they're not bad secrets." I said, trying to downplay everything.
"Oh? Well, I guess you being in love with me since I joined the guild isn't that bad of a secret. Though your plan to kiss me that time after the second movie, I didn't know about." She said with a smug tone. My wife can be smug when she wants to be. "Are you going to finish telling them? Or should I step in?" She asked.
I sighed. "No, I'll finish it. But I'm skipping to the part they actually want to hear. I'm not letting any more shit slip." I said but flinched. "Ow! Woman, stop that!" I growled after she smacked me in the back of the head.
She's been around Ever for far too long if you ask me.
"Language!" She hissed.
"Yes, Love." I said with a pout.
I sighed.
Okay, so it was about two years later when the fifth movie came out.
"Wait, how many books are there?" Layla asked.
"Four." Lucy answered, holding up four fingers.
"Okay, so how are there five movies?" Seth asked.
"They split the fourth book into two parts. Part One and Part Two." Lucy answered, sitting down on my lap after picking Zoey up and setting her on her lap.
"Can I continue?" I asked now that I pretty much had my whole family on my lap since Seth and Layla decided they wanted to be a part of it too.
They nodded.
Though, I was still scared of the smirk that wouldn't leave my wife's face.
Anyway, that year, for your mom's birthday again, I took her to see the final movie. And since I knew the theater owners, I planned an extra surprise for when the Movie ended.
So we watched the movie, and it was playing the credits when they just stopped, and our song started playing.
"What's your song?" Zoey asked.
"I started listening to it when your mom left on a two-month mission that lasted three months thanks to your uncle Natsu. But it's 'Like Nobody Else' by My Darkest Days. I was listening to it when she got home, and we decided to make it our song. But that was like a year before this." I explained.
So anyway, The song started playing, and your mom just gave me a look of panic like she had no clue about this. She had this crazy idea that bandits were trying to take over the theater.
For whatever reason, I don't know.
But I laughed at her theory and pulled her up and into the middle of the screen that was showing the movie. While the song was playing, I gave this great speech about how much I loved her and so on.
"If I remember correctly, you were a stuttering mess in the beginning." My wife said in a teasing tone.
I couldn't help but growl at her. But I got three more growls aimed back at me.
I sighed. "Okay, fine, yes, I was nervous due to your mom possibly saying no." I said in defeat.
But yeah, anyway, after my speech and the song ended, I got down on one knee, pulled out a small black box, and held it out to her.
"Lucy Heartfilia, would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" I asked in the most honest, no longer nervous tone I could muster at that moment.
Your mother never did actually answer me.
"What did she do, Daddy? Cause you're both married, right?" Layla asked.
I chuckled. "Yeah, we're married. Well, actually, your mom couldn't answer me because she was crying, and instead of words, she just tackled me knocking both of us off the stage and onto the ground in a hug. So, I kind of took that as a yes. Plus, she did marry me, so that's a good sign, right?" I asked teasingly.
"You left out the part where the entire guild, including Gramps, was there to see you propose." My wife ever so kindly reminded me.
"Yeah, did you know Gramps wouldn't talk to me for a year after we started dating?" I said in disbelief.
"Do you blame him? Have you met yourself?" My wife said.
If it weren't for the fact that I'd get growled back at, I would have growled at her. It's not fair that the kids always take her side.
"Should I tell them how you went behind my back and ordered the movie's collector's box with all five movies in it and made me watch them all that night that they arrived?" I asked.
"I think you just did, honey." My wife said with a glare.
"What movies, Mommy? Daddy never told us." Layla asked.
My wife giggled. "The Twilight Saga." She said ever so smugly.
Did I forget to mention she still makes me watch them at least once a month?
Yeah.
"All right, guys. Time for bed!" My wife said, trying to pry herself free of three sets of tiny arms.
"Mommy?" Seth asked without moving. I noticed his nose twitching. She hummed in reply. "Why do you smell weird?" He asked.
Which made me take a sniff.
Then it hit me.
Now I knew why she had the evil, smug smirk on her face.
"Your mother's pregnant again." I groaned as I hung my head.
So, that is the updated and edited version of this.
I hope you enjoyed this version with all the errors fixed.
I'll be going through all my stories and editing everything to make sure everything is done correctly.
