This is crossover between Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio and several scify TV shows, a bit of Battlestar Galactica, with elements from The Lost Fleet, Robotech. The Machines they had found looked as good neighbors, until a planet belonging to an unknown species was located with all it's population killed. A diplomatic mission was attacked, and the war began.
