Future Chapter 1: Saving Our Friend

Chapter START

"You know, you Team Plasma scientists should make your subjects more comfortable. I mean, seriously?" Eevee said as he tried to yank his spread-out limbs from their metal cuffs. He was currently lying on a metal table. "This would be better if it was a female from your species, but make sure she wears some cat or dog ears before so-"

"You know I can understand what you're saying, right?" Vikasa said as he pointed at his right ear where he wore an earpiece. "This thing translates what you say to me. Anyway, I can't believe I didn't come across the Eevee species all this time. You are quite unique compared to most other Pokemon."

"Yep. I'm quite awesome, aren't I bitch?" He looked to the door, calmly waiting for N to bust it down and get him out of there. So what if he wandered off on his own against N's orders? It would always be okay in the end. Like that one time, he separated himself and went through a different corridor back in Castelia City. Sure, he may have locked himself in a room with eight grunts, but he won, and N came and got him out.

"Like right here. It says you have a very unstable DNA and it becomes stable once you evolve through a certain means. A certain gene would place itself in your DNA while the other evolution ones would stay detached and constantly wonder. It says according to research." Vikasa kept walking around the table while looking at his clipboard. "That you have eight evolutions, but I've found that you should be able to evolve into 18 from those free-floating genes."

Anytime now N, I'm getting bored of this old guy. And, fuck's sake, this table is killing my back.
"There are some undocumented ones left to discover, like the dragon type one. I wonder how that one has to come out." He mused. "No matter. Unlike those Prossesor shitbags, I'm a real scientist and aren't limited to ethics. I've developed a device that should be able to bring you to your full potential. You'll thank me later." He clicked his fingers and from the ceiling came a large machine with a protruding needle. Eevee saw it come. Slowly.

"So, N, now's the perfect time. We've got the guy; you can come out now," Eevee said confidently.

There was Silence.

"C-come on. This isn't funny anymore." He would be fine. It was always fine. After losing his parents to Team Plasma, there would be no more pain planned for him. Suffering has come and now it should be ease.

The needle came closer.

"How about you, Braviary?" He started to sweat. "I know you're a hardass, but you wouldn't leave me here." He called out louder.

There was no one coming through the door. No one to break him out of his cuffs. No one to come to his rescue.

No one is coming.

He started to breath quickly as the needle was hovering only 30 cm above his right eye. It's sharpness made it almost invisible and it was coming closer and closer. He started to cry.

"Please, s-somebody." He remembered his friend, the one he grew very close to the second time they met in Nimbasa City. "THEO-ARGHH!"

He screamed for the next two hours.

Theodore used the keycard he'd stolen from a knocked-out assistant to open the door. He looked into the room and- nope. Eevee wasn't here. The little shit. He would give him a spanking, but knowing him, he would make him feel uncomfortable by making lucid jokes.

He walked down a broken-down hallway. The walls had their tiles broken off or had scorch marks while the ceiling was caved in, and had the wires from the lighting and sprinkler system protruding out. He wondered how pissed off N was to cause this much damage. These weren't your normal Pokemon battles.

He walked through some more, carefully avoiding any sharp edges that were from broken parts. He jumped over the broken glass and crawled over an overhanging pillar. At the end of a hallway, he saw a small brown furball staring at a wall in complete stillness.

"H-hey. Eevee!" Theodore called out in surprise. He didn't expect to see the fuzzy guy just sitting there. Actually, why isn't he moving? "You know, we were looking all over for you. Yo, let's get ou-"

He leaned back, narrowly dodging the Swift Eevee used that exploded on the wall behind him.

"Hey!" Theodore called out. "What was that about?"

Eevee had turned and faced him, staring at him with a look that creeped even him out. Eevee swiftly ran away with a surprised Theodore chasing him, wondering what was going on. Eevee wouldn't attack him like that unless it was a joke, but he knew better than to use a move in this unstable hallway. Theodore turned the corner and was met with a Flamethrower that knocked him to the back wall. He got up, hissing as he could smell his singed fur. That was super effective and hurt.

He saw a Flareon grinning maliciously in front of him. He almost took a step back from seeing an unnatural amount of malice from a Pokemon. He saw his eyes. They were a scarlet red, unlike the classic black of a Flareon, and they were recognisable to him. They were the same colour as the wild Pokemon who were under mind control and attacked Nimbasa City. There was no fire stone in the vicinity. Theodore checked, and there was no Pokemon apart from Team Sarah and Eevee. This was no ordinary Flareon.

"Okay uhh listen Eevee. Everything will be okay just-" He dodged another flamethrower and shot back with an Ice Beam. Flareon jumped and ran through the hallway, again turning around another corner.

Theodore was quick to follow. He threw a piece of metal from the floor past the corner which was scorched by a Flamethrower.

"Hah, got you now bitch," Theodore said as he summoned his Shadow Claws and slashed Flareon while he was in shock. He cried out before growling. He used Fire Fang and bit deeply into Theodore.

Theodore held in a cry as he used a Shadow Claw in the feline's weak spot and forced him off. He looked at his arm and saw the holes from the Fire Fang. They were disgusting.

"Fuck this. I'm cheating." He got his anti-fire spray from under his scarf and sprayed himself. He opened both arms. "Come at me bro."

"Gladly," Flareon said as he tackled him with a Flame Charge. Theodore caught him just before he hit his stomach. "What!"

The flames themselves did nothing against the ice type. He quickly used an Ice Beam and trapped Flareon in place.

"So, how did Vikasa change your genes artificially- no wait, don't answer that. He must have used a simple gene splicing technique." If Eevee wasn't his friend, and he hadn't changed his views on Pokemon, he would have joined in the experiment. DNA splicing when the patient is alive would be incredible for scientific process. Flareon growled as he summoned his fire type energy to melt the ice away.

Theodore sprayed him with his anti-fire spray and stopped him from summoning his flames. He'll carry him out of here.

What happened next was shocking.

Flareon closed his eyes. The device that had been wired around all his internal organs charged with aura. It broke the phosphodiester bonds of the gene with the rest of the DNA strands, and replaced it with a certain different gene, forming the new phosphodiester bonds and keeping the DNA stable.

Flareon glowed like how a Pokemon would when evolving. He changed. His body and fur were replaced with pure ghost type energy that kept moving in waves like a gas. His tail was like a free-floating ribbon that waved along the air despite the air being still. His face had a haunted look in them, almost dead, and he had a third eye in the middle of his head that looked like a human's.

"Pantheon."

"What did he do to you?" A beed of sweat fell from Theodore's forehead. This can't be real. This was an evolution that was never meant to exist, but they made Sylveon in a later gen. This realistic world must mean that there are more evolutions that aren't discovered yet, and from what I see, that means a whole lot of problems.

The now called Pantheon turned phantom and simply phased through the ice.

"Hey, wait!"

Pantheon phased through the wall. Damn it. Now, he had to go through the whole laboratory again to find him.

Anubis punched through the wooden door and went inside. Eevee wasn't here either. This room looked like a medical bay.

He jumped when a purple creature phased through the wall. He brought up his Kraton stance on the potential threat. It looked like Eevee but was a purple ghost. He attacked him with a Shadow Ball which he quickly dodged. This was Eevee. He didn't know what happened to him, but those eyes showed he was under some sort of control.

His fist turned blue as he sent a Focus Punch. It didn't work how it normally did. It didn't show him a potential weak point from the movements of Eevee and it went straight through. Surprised, he fell forward and banged his head on the wall.

"Ow." he held his head. Pantheon giggled.

"Come on, dogman, you should know better than that. Fighting type moves don't work on ghost types." He landed a Shadow Ball on his back. "But my moves work on you."

He used Poltergeist on the medical equipment. Anubis found himself surrounded by a medical bed, a first-aid kit, a scalpel, and a few other things that he couldn't recognise. He looked around to find an opening to see none before kissing his teeth. This room was tiny and didn't allow much manueverability. They slammed together. He yelped as a few cuts and small bruises formed on him, but he could take it. He concentrated his aura into his hands and formed a large Bone Rush. It was larger than a normal one and he wielded it like a cleaver instead of a staff.

After evolving into a Lucario, Sarah was quick to get him to use the move to compliment his power-oriented fighting style. He swung it around and the equipment let out large clangs as they hit the metallic walls. Pantheon came out of the floor with a furious look in his eyes.

"I will destroy you."

"Eevee, please, I don't want to do this. You mean too much to us, especially N. Do you remember him, he's your friend." Pantheon waivered in the air for a second before shaking his head. He went back into the floor. Anubis looked around in alert as he could pop out of nowhere. Pantheon came from his left side and use two Shadow Claws. Anubis was hit by the first but blocked the second with his cleaver before swinging it.

Pantheon quickly went into the floor again and dodged it.

Not this time.Anubis thought. He used his bangs and sensed Eevee's aura as it travelled around the floor. All creatures, including ghost types, have aura. From my right.

As Pantheon rose with a Shadow Claw, Anubis brought down a heavy cleaver of an attack and slammed him to the ground.

"Aww," Eevee moaned. "But how?!"

"Bone Rush is a ground type attack for some reason. Blame Arceus for it."

Eevee felt a ringing in his ears. That attack hit him right on the head. He shook it off and bared his teeth.

He changed forms to Anubis's shock. He sensed something strange happening to Eevee's aura. It was being manipulatred in unnatural patterns throughout his entire body. Again, the ghost type gene was taken out and replaced as the new phosphodiester bonds formed.

He stood on his hind legs as they elongated while his main body shortened. His third eye closed and his fur reappeared as red. White ribbons, like a boxer's wrapping, conjourned around his feet and top paws. His foreleg's bones changed and formed like a human's or a Machoke's.

"Brawleon!" He used Focus Punch on Anubis's unguarded liver. He gasped as he fell to the floor, huffing for air. The liver shot was a devastating move. He didn't stop as he used Double Kick and sent Anubis skidding across the floor to the wall. A few tiles landed on his head.

Anubis let out a loud growl as he shakily got up and shook off some pieces of glass from his fur. He launched an Aura Sphere. Eevee ducked under it as it broke the wall behind him. Both used Quick Attack to get in close while they charged their respective attacks. Bone Rush and Close Combat.

Anubis's attacks were powerful, but Eevee's came in a relentless wave. They didn't stop. Each attack came in swiftly and started to overwhelm the aura user.

"S-stop," Anubis said as each attack went past his guard and hit. He split his cleaver into two to try to guard himself, but it didn't matter. The Close Combat didn't stop and he could feel each impact like a wrecking ball. He fell to the ground and fainted.

"Brawleon pathetic." Eevee spat to the side and looked down at the Lucario. "Weren't even a challenge." The fighting type moves were effective against Anubis's newly gained steel typing.

"So, which dickhead is next," he said as he turned into Pantheon and phased through the walls of the laboratory.

N kept shaking despite his Braviary's wing hugging him. Eevee was in there. In danger. And here he is just waiting for Sarah's team to get him. He should be the one in there. Sarah told him that he was in no condition to do anything after the shock that his friend was probably being experimented on by that monster.

"I'm a bad friend, aren't I braviary?"

"Don't say that N."

N understood his pokespeech.

"But I should have been more stern. I should have told him to listen to my orders. I know I'm against Pokemon battling, and that made me meek as a leader. I'm sorry." Braviary just kept rubbing him with his wing. It was a cold night and he felt it shiver through his skin-illusioned fur and into his real skin.
They stared at the purple ghost-like Eevee come through the wall. He immediately knew who it was.

"Eevee?"

The Pantheon watched him bewilderment. His scarlet eyes returned to normal for a brief moment before turning back and growling. He sent a Shadow Ball to him. Braviary reacted quickly and covered him with his wing, his normal typing evaporating the attack.

"My friend, you have to break out of his control. Listen to my voice and you will be free," N said.

Pantheon glowed and changed. His hind legs merged with his body before it elongated. It was covered in beautiful blue feathers as it grew two white wings. His head had a small mane going form the top of his head to his tail comprising of feathers to help stabilise him. He looked quite majestic if it wasn't for those scarlet eyes. It made N want to cry.

"We have to fight him. I'm sorry Eevee, I'll make this up to you, I swear. Braviary use Steel Wing."

"Aeveon." Eevee flew high into the air. Braviary tried to attack him multiple times, but he maneuvered through them with such ease. It was like he was dancing in the wind instead of flying. "Hey, Braviary. I knew you were fat, but I didn't know you were slow. Keep up, old man."

Braviary didn't let the taunts get to him.

"Agility!" N shouted. Aeveon charged his own Steel Wing and met Braviary head on. Braviary won the exchange as Eevee felt his huge weight overwhelm him.

"Okay, you got me by surprise there, but how will you dodge this." he started to flap his wings powerfully. In a few seconds, the wind howled and coiled around him as he lost stability in the air. He flapped, but was pulled into the Hurricane.

"Damn it," N said as Braviary came falling from the sky, too disoriented to stay in the air. Aeveon charged towards them with a Body Slam. "Use Hyper Beam when I say so." He got closer with that menacing look that didn't belong to his line. He was now 10 metres away and in a second would pulverize them.

"NOW!"

He shot the powerful beam. Aeveon cried when the attack felt like fire and a bulldozer at the same time. He skidded through the floor, the lushess grass crushed by his singed fur. N ran to the downed Pokemon. He hadn't fainted but that attack was very damaging.

"Eevee, can you hear me? Please, wake up." He shook him. He wrinkled his nose from the smell of smoke coming from his singed feathers. "We can fix this. Just stay in control and I promise everything will be fine."

"Aev? N?" He said in a week voice. His eyes were black like normal for his species or whatever he turned into. "Grrr!" He clenched his teeth and shook his head as he was losing control. The mind control was trying to take over like a grip to his brain, squeezing it.

"Fight it! You've got this." It wasn't working despite the further struggles. He broke his illusion and turned into his Zoroark form, and tightly wrapped his friend. "Braviary, use Sky Attack."

"But-"

"Do it!"

He would end up hitting N too. He trusted him. He quickly flew high into the sky, beyond the clouds, before descending with great speeds. He became a spear and was about to land on the duo.

"Aeve!" He changed into a Jolteon and gave a small electric shock to N, letting him go before he ran into the neighbouring forest, getting lost in the trees. Braviary tried to stop his descent, but still had the momentum to land on N.

"Oomph!" N got up while holding his stomach. "Come on, it's not over yet. Fly us into the forest."

They scoured around but saw nothing. It would be hard to notice even something as contrasting as a Jolteon when the trees' canopy was in the way.

They narrowly dodged a Dragon Pulse as N almost fell off of Braviary. Amongst a group of trees was Eevee.

His feathers were gone and were replaced with light purple scales. His body retained its long length, but now he had his hind legs. His paws had claws, and his head was shaped like a dragon's. He had two long thick whiskers on his cheeks.

"Draceon."

He can't fight him with the trees in the way. Should I wait for Sarah-no! I have to save my friend. We'll just have to win.

Sarah would reprimand him for this stupid act, but he's not going to listen.

"Use Hyper Beam." He missed substantially as Draceon simply flew away. It wasn't as fast as his Aeveon form, but good enough. "Use-

"Draceon!" A Draco Meteor was sent into the air. It split into many pieces as they descended randomly through the air. Braviary did his best to dodge them but ended up getting hit by one. They crashed to the ground. Before Braviary could lift himself, he was met with a Dragon Tail and slammed the floor. He felt dirt go into his eyes and the feeling of the ground punching his body.

"Eevee," N simply said as he saw him hurt his own teammate. Eevee looked at him with narrowed eyes and said.

"Weak." Before flying back to the laboratory. After a moment of stillness, N put Braviary into his pokeball and ran after him.

Sarah carried Anubis around her shoulder to the outside of the laboratory, Athena keeping guard at her front. Theodore limped at her side. He hurt his leg when running after the Pantheon and some of the hallway's debris crashed into him.

They were outside and felt refreshed by the chilly wind instead of the smoky and broken air within the laboratory. Draceon gracefully hovered into the opening with N chasing him in his Zoroark form.

"That's Eevee. You must defeat him; he's under Vikasa's mind control!"

"Tch." Sarah clicked her teeth. "Athena, you're up."

"Kir."

Frankly, she was getting annoyed at the shenanigans in her journey. She wanted an adventure, but all of this; Team Plasma, the incident in Nimbasa City, and now this, it was going too far.

"Use Psyshock." Draceon dodged the first projectiles but was hit by the other two. He was simply pushed back before scoffing at the attack. Not even a scratch. But that was expected of a dragon type, they had powerful bodies. "Use Future Sight."

Athena's eyes glowed as she concentrated. She saw a vision.

one of the Draco Meteor's she didn't see projected towards her.

She shot a strong beam of psychic energy into the sky. It will come back later.

Draceon shot a Dragon Pulse.

"Dodge it." She jumped to the side as the attack disappeared into the forest. "Use Psychic. Slam him to the floor."

She held him in place as he glowed with her energy. She gritted her teeth as he kept trashing in the hold. It took a deep focus from her. Every time he moved, she had to redirect her psychic energy around his body parts. She focused more under him as he went higher into the air before she focused it all on his top and he slammed to the floor. Again, at his bottom, then all of it on his side as he slammed into the corner of the laboratory's metal entrance.

He moved his head just a bit to avoid the impact concentrating wholly on his forehead and it skimmed along its side. A few scales came off and he felt the sting of the cut.

He broke the hold and turned into a Jolteon. He tensed his body and got into a running stance. Lighting charged all across his body before he dashed at Athena with Volt Tackle, crashing into her before Sarah could blink her eye.

Athena coughed before getting up. Luckily, she didn't gain a type of paralysis but her fingers did twitch a few times.

Eevee turned back into Draceon and flew into the air. He sent a Draco Meteor which split into pieces. Athena's eyes widened. This could be the moment.

"Get in quick! Use Thunder punch!" She sprinted across the field. The meteors that were the size of her head came in randomly. She dashed past the first, rolled past the other three, and jumped to the Draceon. After jumping 15ft in the air, one of the Draco Meteor's she didn't see projected towards her. Eevee smirked.

"It was a nice attempt, but it's over."

Here it comes.

A strong psychic beam crashed down and destroyed it.

"What- OOF!"

She landed the lightning-filled punch right in his midsection, and he felt his entire breath leave his body. He fell to the ground in a cloud of dust. He spasmed a few times. The move may not be super effective, but Sarah trained her body to the max. She stood before Sarah, panting hard.

Draceon slowly got up and growled to Sarah's shock.

"How much energy do you have?!"

"This has gone on long enough," he said.

"Eevee." The Zoroark tried approaching but stepped back at the Dragon Pulse he sent. "Please, stop this, you'll only end up getting hurt. I love you."

At those words, he stood still. A warmth filled his chest that made him want to cry. His eyes turned black before he looked around in wonder.

"W-where am I?"And why do I feel like I crashed through five buildings?

Something gripped his mind. You are my subject.

This wasn't his thought. He groaned and shook his head as the grip was getting stronger.

"That's it Eevee, fight it," N said.

Destroy them.

"SHUT UP!" The voices were overwhelming. He growled as his eyes turned back to scarlet. "I will destroy all of you!"

He demanded his aura device to do his bidding. It wasn't built for what he wanted but he didn't care. He wanted power. He wanted to destroy everyone in his way. It removed the draconic gene before doing something it shouldn't be able to do.

It added all of the type genes into his DNA strand. The DNA tried to resist the unnatural phenomenon, but the device overloaded itself and forced them to be added. All 18 genes combined through new bonds throughout his body.

He was screaming from the pain. Unlike his new forms, they were just undiscovered ones but something his body was capable of turning into, however, this shouldn't be possible.

His body grew, and his scales fell. He kept growling during the transformation. His body grew black fur that was almost navy blue. There were red tips on his paws, and his tail was bushy and curled on the end, also red. Three puffs of long red hair grew from the back of his head similarly shaped to his tail. Large black wings, like a bat's, protruded from his back. His head was large along with his teeth. He opened his eyes showing scarlet feline eyes with black slits that were ready to pounce on its prey.

"Omneon."

"Aw shit," Theodore said aloud in English. The beast was large, about 6ft on all fours and protruded muscle behind its fur. He would have been majestic if he wasn't baring his teeth at them.

He shot a flame at Athena. She dodged and Sarah jumped to the side to avoid it. He then shot it at N who blocked it with his arms.

"Argh!" He was sent crashing through a couple of trees.

"N!" Sarah shouted. His body was covered in soot as a lot of his fur was burned off. Smoke came off his body. He had fainted. And only from one attack.

"Hey, dipshit. Right here!" Theodore ran around the back of the beast and waved his arms, gaining his attention. "Remember in the Grand Market where you wondered where that special doughnut of yours went? Yeah. It was me."

Eevee, angered, shot the black flame towards him. He could see it better now. The Darkfire looked like a black flamethrower, but something wasn't right with the colouring. It looked like a divine black. It gave the same unnatural feeling he'd got from Shinigami.

He was surprised by its speed and he put up his arms to block.

Pain.

Utter pain and damage.

It was like a punch, a laceration, a burn, a shock, doused, frozen, poisoned, pummeled, a blow of strong wind, a bug sting, bulldozed, a psychic attack, a ghost's energy, a dragon's breath, and a fairy's blast.

The attack was the feeling of being attacked by every type of Pokemon he'd faced, and it almost made him faint. He crashed at the closed doors of the laboratory and stayed on the floor, feeling the screaming pain signals his entire body was sending him. Was he still breathing?

He barely heard Eevee send two more of his Darkfire Flames and the following cries of Athena and Anubis. They must have fainted. His muscles were shouting for him to stop, but he got up. Eevee prowled towards Sarah who watched in horror.

"R-run," he croaked, but she couldn't hear him. Eevee was within 3 metres now and snarling. A bit of his black drool fell onto the ground which sizzled and evaporated.

Fuck, I didn't want to do this, but you left me no choice. Sorry Eevee.

He closed his eyes. He remembered. That time with Connor when he wanted to hurt Anubis, his son. That time with the Dragonite he lost to, and he almost ripped his face off when he looked down on him. The utter malice he felt.

His body changed. It took to human size before becoming encompassed in a dark ethereal energy. It crystallized into an armoured form. His eyes glowed a shining white.

He no longer felt the pain from the Darkfire. He only had 10 minutes before the Ethereal Form would break and he would collapse.

"Oi!" The Omneon turned around and got a punch in the face. He fell to the ground in surprise. Theodore turned to Sarah. "Get everyone out of here, I've got this."

"Are you sure? But that form-" She asked.

"Yes! Now move."

He summoned his sword as she recalled Athena and Anubis, put N over her shoulder and scurried away.

They circled each other.

"I would rather not do this," Theodore said.

"Too bad. Do you really think you can beat me? I now have the power of a god," Eevee said. Theodore wouldn't be surprised if it was true. He was sure he had the power to rival a legendary.

Eevee shot another Darkfire Flame at him. He dodged before sprinting to him and slashing him across his chest with his sword.

"Argh! Dick."

The real Eevee's still in there. The way he talks shows that.

The Omneon shot a huge ball of Darkfire into the air before it split like a Draco Meteor, only this time, they all came rocketing towards him. He quickly dodged a few and slashed some of the others, but the remaining six hit him. He exploded in a cloud of dust. His eyes widened when some of his armour cracked. Not even Vikasa's specialised suit could crack it.

He would have to be careful of those attacks, they were too devastating.

Excellent speed, strength, power, defense, and stamina that never runs out, but is under mind control and susceptible to tricks.

He cleaved the ground in front of him. Eevee coughed at the large dust storm that formed.

"Over here." He felt a sharp slash at his left. He yelped before turning and using a Darkfire Flame. Another on his right. He did the same thing before he felt one right on his snout and he scurried in a cry.

Fuck, that hurts.

His eyes glowed before he stomped on the floor and used a Darkfire Wave, sending the blast around himself and knocking Theodore back. He fled to the forest before he could use another Darkfire Flame.

6 minutes left. Theodore thought. Not much time left.

"Think that would work. Jokes on you." He used Darkfire Flame throughout the forest. It quickly spread and burned in dark divine flames. "I'll burn you along with the forest."

Something gripped him and lifted him to the air. He quickly kicked the thing away and flew himself. Theodore brought down his sword but the Omneon encased himself in Darkfire and dashed to him before he could. He felt more of his armour crack.

4 minutes.

He lifted the sword in a backhanded grip and brought it down on Eevee, making him retreat. They stayed in the air.

"Hey, remember that time in Nimbasa when we threw shit at people."

What is this guy on about? I shall destr- no, wait, I do remember something. His scarlet eyes turned a heliodor yellow. Yes, I do. It was goddamn glorious. We had buckets of fertiliser and pushed them off rooftops onto people before running off…What was I doing again?

You were about to destroy them. An unknown voice said. Break their bones and take off their legs.

No…that's uhh Theodore! Yes, Theodore. And we were…

"Hey, dude. My head hurts," he said weakly to Theodore's shock.

"Yes, yes. That's it. Keep in control." Eevee groaned before shaking his head many times. "You're in control."

His eyes turned scarlet and feral. Theodore took his chance and brought his sword down, bringing them to the ground. His blade slashed a huge part of his belly and revealed the strong muscles inside. It was disgusting to look at.

He used Darkfire Dash and sent them tumbling down the hillside. Theodore recovered first and went behind the recovering Omneon, putting him in a chokehold. There was no way he could win with brute force, not when he hadn't mastered the Ethereal Form.

2 minutes left.

Eevee bit hard on his left forearm. He didn't stop with his hold even when cracks formed. He only had 2 minutes before the form would break and he would collapse. He shouldn't even be using this for 10 minutes if he didn't want to feel the painful after-effects, but he would do it for Eevee. This was the first person he considered a friend.

The cracks grew as his jaws tightened further.

"You remember N, don't you? He's worried. Braviary's worried. We're all worried. You're stronger than this, beat his mind control."

N. That name was familiar. He remembered when his family was taken to be sold by Team Plasma, and he was left scouring for scraps in the city. He fought against many other Pokemon and was left starving. He felt alone. It was so alone in the unforgiving dark with rain pouring down on your head.
It was cold until he met N and Braviary, and he'd never felt more loved again.

His eyes returned to normal.

"T-Theodore." His grip loosened. "Quickly, I can't hold on."

Somehow, Theodore's grip around his neck tightened, but the cracks grew in size as Eevee's clench alternated in strength along with his eye colour.

His time ran out. His armour cracked into pieces and faded away like dust before they could hit the floor. He screamed. The crystals formed in his muscles and rendered him unable to move, but he felt an incredible searing pain throughout his body. It was like having a bath of hydrochloric acid.

Omneon was out of his grasp and breathed heavily before hovering over him.

"Y-y-you." He huffed. "D-d you think…You c-could b-b-b…" He couldn't talk as the world felt blurry. The aura device had run out of energy and could no longer assist in keeping his genes in place. The phosphodiester bonds broke and the genes went back to free-floating. He glowed before changing in size and returning to his Eevee form. He cried in pain from having every cell in his body change back from an unnatural form.

He huffed again as his eyes returned to their normal, mischievous, black selves. This time, he was in control.

"T-Theo-" He fainted next to Theodore's unconscious form.

(3 days later)

Eevee watched out the window from his bed. He could see the sun at its peak shining its light onto the peaceful landscape where grass just swivelled along the wind. The clouds were peacefully moving along while a few kids played outside.

He shook his head. He couldn't enjoy it. What the fuck did he do? He left N, beat everyone up, and almost killed Theodore and Sarah. Theodore was in surgery because of him. His eyes drooped as he sunk into his sheets. He wasn't wearing the mischievous smile he usually wore.

He lifted his paw and stared at it. Nurse Joy said that they couldn't remove the aura device; it was connected to all of his organs and would be too dangerous to take out.

But how did he do that, and with those forms?

Vikasa did something that all Eevee's and their evolutions would laugh at if they heard. There were no more types than the eight. They would know. Even Sylveon, who had been discovered recently, was a rumour amongst them decades before, yet now he's discovered that he has access to all 18 types. He used some of them to beat up his team and Team Sarah.

Fuck. And the worst part was the last one, Omneon. He shuddered, not even wanting to think about it. He remembered how it felt to be in that form. It felt wrong like something that didn't belong to him. He was a normal Pokemon, not a legendary, yet, when he was in that form, he felt he could topple them. The Darkfire power he wielded was divine.

I'm a freak.

It didn't come to his mind the good things that came with the power like how it would help him in their raids against Team Plasma or even the ways he could mess around with people in the city like turning into Pantheon and using Poltergeist…if N would take him back.

He didn't hear two people enter his room.

"Eevee," N called.

"Woah!" Eevee jumped. "Flippin' hell dude. Almost gave me a heart attack. What's up Bra?"

"I'm doing well, thank you."

"I've brought some chocolate. They're milk, your favourite," N said, carrying in his hands a tray of milk chocolates.

"O-oh…that," Eevee said. His ears dropped when he remembered why they were here. He sighed. "Look, N, I'm sorry. I fucked up when I should have listened and I ended up hurting all of you. I-" he saw N's saddened gaze.

"Eevee, it's okay. I'm the one who should be sorry. I should have been more stern, but I'm just a coward."

"No! It was me. I did this!" He pointed to the wall. "Theodore is getting surgery and can't even move because of me. I should have been stronger. I could have overpowered the mind control or something."

"No one is blaming you for anything," Braviary said. "If anyone is to blame then it's Vikasa. And I assure you we will get him. Theodore was aware of what he was doing and he did it for your sake because you are his friend."

That was true. At least the dickhead cared about him.

"Eevee, I love you," N said. "We all do."

"I-I don't want you to leave," Eevee said crying. "My parents are probably dead and I was left to die. P-please, don't leave me." It hurt them to see this. They'd never seen him cry except the first time they met him where he was so vulnerable and had a look of hopelessness in his eyes. N hugged him tightly which Eevee responded in kind. Braviary followed suit.

"We would never leave you," N said sternly, stroking his fur. "Never." His tears were coming out as Eevee kept crying on his shirt. It didn't matter even if he cried for another year. He would be there for his friend.
