A boy stood alone and took a moment to catch his breath. The forest echoed with footsteps as more people chased after him. He felt his side that was bleeding from a previous engagement. He took off running while holding his side, the boy's breath became ragged as he ran as fast as he could through the forest, wincing at the sharp pain in his side as he leapt onto, a fallen log providing temporary respite. The footsteps of a relentless pursuer echoed through the trees ascontinued.to pursue him. He picked up his pace to stay ahead of them. He hid his presence from them as he ran. He looked back to see if they were any closer, but he couldn't see the small 15-foot cliff ahead. He fell and landed on his back. When I landed, he felt something crack in his body and let out a groan of pain. Lying at the foot of the cliff, the boy was in pain and struggled to stand up. When he turned around, the cracks in his body reflected his pain. Footsteps approached, and two figures stood on the edge of the cliff, their expression hidden behind a hood.
As the boy sat up, the two figures approached him. "Well, well, we finally caught up to you." Figure 1, The boy did not respond to the person. "The time has come to end this abomination.'' Figure 2, They approached the boy. He remained silent, his gaze unwavering, and a stoic expression etched on his face. He instinctively reached for something hidden on his back. In one quick movement, the boy drew his sword and met the figures' swords with his own. The sound of metal clashing echoed through the forest, leaving sparks as the swords collided. The boy stood back up and shoved the devils away. He spun his swords in his hands, the figures charged at him again. The boy parried one sword and used the moment to shove the figure to his right, the other figure tried to stab him. The boy made an X shape with his sword and caught the other figure's sword with his. The figure he shoved away turned back, bringing his sword in the air. Suddenly, a red light appeared on his hands. The sudden light left the two figures in a state of bewilderment. Their confusion escalated as the two figures fell to the ground in a crouch. "A sacred gear?" Figure 1, The second figure looked on in horror. "No wa-!" Figure 2, They attempted to voice their disbelief, only to be abruptly silenced as the boy swiftly ended their life. In one seamless motion, the boy's sword cleaved through the air, cutting down both figures, their bodies falling in halves. The light dissipated from his hands. With a practiced ease, the boy sheathed his swords on his back. He rolled his shoulders, as he glanced up at the cliff, he detected more approaching footsteps. He turned away from the cliff face and strode deeper into the forest.
A teenage girl who is 15 years old was walking from a shop, she noticed that there were multiple presences following her. They trailed her every step. Instinctively, she turned a corner, seeking refuge in a nearby courtyard. As she entered the open space, multiple figures, their expressions twisted with an unsettling glee, awaited her arrival. The girl hesitated in the center, surrounded by the assembly. The air hung heavy with anticipation as the encircling group closed in, their eyes reflecting a mixture of curiosity and malevolence. The girl, acutely aware of the escalating tension. Yet, the gleeful expressions of the strangers only deepened the mystery of their intent. Silence lingered for a moment before one of them, a figure with a sinister grin, stepped forward. "You've finally arrived," Figure 3, the words hanging in the air like a dark omen. The others maintained their eerie silence, their eyes fixated on the girl. With a palpable sense of foreboding, the girl braced herself, uncertain of the imminent revelation or confrontation that awaited in this unexpected courtyard encounter. The shadows, both literal and figurative, seemed to converge as the enigmatic gathering tightened its grip around her.
She turned a corner to a courtyard that was nearby, as she approached the courtyard, there were multiple people inside waiting for her. She stopped in the middle of the courtyard, and the people surrounded her. The courtyard fell silent as the people surrounding her expressed their ominous glee. A mocking voice cut through the air, dripping with disdain. "If it isn't Tsubaki Shinra, Sona Sitri's little lap dog." Figure 4, Tsubaki's eyes sparked with defiance, locking onto the men who dared to challenge her. "You will find out that this lap dog has more bite than bark." Tsubaki, Without hesitation, she summoned a naginata into existence, the weapon materializing in her hands and shifted into a defensive stance. The multiple figures unsheathed swords from their hips. The blades caught the ambient light as they prepared to encircle Tsubaki. Tsubaki's grip tightened on her naginata, eyes scanning the tightening circle with unwavering focus. As the three rushed towards her, swords drawn, Tsubaki's eyes remained fixed on the approaching figures. In a swift, synchronized motion, the trio closed in, blades poised to strike. Tsubaki, however, was ready. With a precise calculation of timing, she anticipated their movements and prepared to meet the oncoming onslaught. The sound of swords echoed as they met her naginata. Tsubaki, exhibiting a graceful and precise mastery of her naginata, tightened her grip and effortlessly shoved the figures away. In a seamless and fluid motion, she spun on her axis, the blade of the naginata cutting through the air with lethal precision. As the figures staggered backward from her forceful shove, they found themselves in the path of Tsubaki's spinning strike. The naginata danced through the air, slicing through the space they occupied. The figures, now forced to retreat further, bore the marks of Tsubaki's skillful counterattack. As the figures staggered back from Tsubaki's counterattack, the force caused their hoods to fall from their heads. The revelation unveiled their true identities as devils. Tsubaki, momentarily taken aback by the unexpected revelation. "Kill her." Figure 7, The remaining devils charged at her, Tsubaki employed her skills to defend herself. With calculated precision, she parried incoming strikes, spun out of harm's way, and countered with swift and decisive strikes of her own.
The devils, realizing that they faced a formidable opponent, adjusted their tactics. One of the devils, seizing an opportune moment, charged at Tsubaki. In a swift and evasive move, he ducked beneath her swing and forcefully rammed his shoulder into her, sending her sprawling to the ground. The naginata slipped from her grasp as she tried to regain her bearings. She hit the ground hard, hitting her head against the ground. Frantically, Tsubaki scanned the ground for her weapon, but before she could retrieve it, another devil landed on top of her. With a swift and ruthless motion, he rolled her onto her back, and a surge of panic flickered in her eyes, now in a dominant position, placed his hands around her neck and began to squeeze. Horror etched across Tsubaki's face as the pressure increased. She clawed desperately at the devil, but her attempts proved futile. Her movements became increasingly frantic, legs kicking sporadically as she struggled to break free from the devil's suffocating grip. "This will show that Leviathan bitch sister to not mess with the Old Satan Faction." Male 5, In the dire moment of suffocation, the pressure on Tsubaki's neck intensified, and her vision blurred as her eyes rolled into the back of her head. Just when it seemed unbearable, a sudden release of pressure replaced the suffocating grip. Gasping for breath, Tsubaki coughed, her chest heaving as she regained her ability to breathe.
Through teary eyes, she looked up and saw a figure standing over her, a familiar face. It was the boy from earlier, holding swords in his hands. He stood with the devil that had been choking her impaled on his sword. Relief washed over Tsubaki as she lay on the ground, catching her breath. "It's the kid we were tasked to kill alongside the queen of Sitri. Get him!" Male 5, The group of devils charged at the boy, he swiftly lowered his blade, allowing the lifeless body of the devil that he had just defeated to fall to the ground. In a seamless transition, he shifted his focus to the incoming threat, preparing to face the remaining adversaries. Lowering into a determined stance, the boy charged at the devils. They attempted to retaliate, launching attacks at him, but he blocked their assaults with his swords. The air crackled with the exchange of steel against steel echoed through the courtyard. As two devils approached from behind, the boy sensed their presence. With a swift and instinctive move, he pushed one away from him, creating enough space to pivot quickly. Turning on his heel, he skillfully blocked the attack. The two devils, determined to overpower him, exerted all their might in an attempt to shove the boy over. However, his steadfast stance and weight proved formidable. Seizing the moment, the boy, using his opponent's momentum against them, loosened his parry. As a result, the two devils came tumbling forward, caught off balance. In a swift and fluid motion, the boy capitalized on this opportunity. He shoved his swords through them, bringing a decisive end to their attempt to overpower him. He removed his swords from the bodies of the defeated devils and turned to face the remaining group. The devils pressed forward, undeterred by the previous encounters. In response, the boy charged at them, adopting a determined stance. Lowering himself, he strategically shoved his shoulder into one of the oncoming devils, leveraging his strength to throw the adversary over his shoulder. As one devil raised his sword to strike down the boy, a swift and unexpected move disrupted the attack. The boy, quick on his feet, dropped one of his swords and instead seized the devil by the face. The sudden intervention halted the impending strike, leaving the devil momentarily immobilized. With a display of formidable strength, the boy forcefully shoved the devil he held to the ground. The impact created a crater around the devil's head, leaving a visible and severe indentation to his head. As the boy raised himself from the previous confrontation, another devil attempted to strike him from the side. However, the boy exhibited swift reflexes, quickly turning and grabbing the devil's sword, thwarting the attack. The devil, realizing he couldn't overpower the boy's strength, attempted to remove his sword, but the boy's grip proved too formidable. In a sudden and forceful move, the boy headbutted the devil, causing him to release his weapon. Seizing the opportunity, the boy swiftly stabbed the devil in the chest. With only five devils remaining from the initial group, a sense of regret began to permeate their ranks. The realization dawned that attacking the boy had not unfolded as they had anticipated. However, retreating came with its own consequences, for their leader's wrath awaited them. The devils found themselves caught between the fear of facing the boy and the dread of the repercussions they would face if they were to return defeated. The boy grabbed his sword he had dropped and now with his other sword in hand, the boy assumed a determined stance as the remaining devils made their decision. Despite their mounting regrets, the devils resolved to face the lone defender, understanding that the alternative of a return to their leader in defeat promised even graver consequences. As the devils charged at him, the boy stood steadfast, ready to meet their onslaught. In a rapid and fluid sequence, the remaining devils raised their swords in unison, aiming to overwhelm the boy. However, the boy's agility and mastery with his swords came to the forefront. In a swift movement, he cleaved the devil on his sword in half. The boy seamlessly reversed his grip on his swords and executed a spinning motion, a deadly dance that resulted in the simultaneous demise of three devils. One devil, quick to anticipate the impending danger, attempted to jump out of harm's way. However, in a twist of fate, he tripped over one of his comrades' lifeless bodies.
Regripping his swords, the boy made his way over to the fallen devil. Sensing the devil's attempt to escape, he swiftly threw a sword past the devil's head, halting his retreat. The boy said nothing as he approached. The devil, faced with the inevitable. "Why? Why did you do this, and what do you want?" Devil, Seeking answers from the silent and enigmatic figure before him. In the face of the devil's desperate questions, the boy remained silent, responding only with a low growl. The devil, in a moment of realization, understood the nature of the enigmatic figure before him. As the boy lowered himself and grabbed the devil by the face, a grim determination set in. With a display of strength, the boy crushed the devil's jaw, bringing a swift and brutal end to the encounter. The boy retrieved his sword,
Tsubaki, having recovered from her near-strangulation, watched with a mixture of gratitude and curiosity. The boy, with his unexpected prowess, had become an unforeseen ally. Tsubaki, attempting to stand, was surprised as the boy stood in front of her, halting her movement. With a yelp of surprise, she fell back on her hands. He leaned down to her level. She didn't get a good look at him when he was fighting the group of devils, but his face has a very noticeable scar that ran from his neck across his face to his hairline. Her gaze then shifted to his right eye, which was completely shut, surrounded by a small burn scar. In their first exchange, the boy spoke with a deep, scratchy, smoky tone to his voice. "Are you alright?" Person, Tsubaki, still catching her breath, nodded in acknowledgment. "Yes, thank you for helping me." Tsubaki, As he stood and began to walk away, she felt a sudden urge to know more about the mysterious ally. "Wait, can I please get your name?" Tsubaki, Her curiosity getting the better of her. The boy turned his upper body slightly, looking at her. "I think my name is irrelevant. I'm just some passer-by who decided to help." With those words, he turned back around, before leaving the courtyard.
As the bodies of the defeated devils lay scattered across the courtyard, he planted his swords into the ground and activated his sacred gear. Holding out his left hand, the boy summoned his power, causing the ground beneath the bodies to tremble slightly. Tsubaki, her curiosity piqued, observed the unfolding scene with a watchful gaze. The ground beneath the bodies suddenly sunk, creating holes that swallowed the lifeless forms. The bodies descended into the openings, disappearing from sight as the earth closed over them. The once-scattered remnants of the devils were now concealed beneath the surface. Tsubaki, gasping, couldn't conceal her horror as the ground closed on the last body, leaving behind no trace of the defeated devils. "This person is going to be a problem. I need to tell Lady Sona of the person immediately." Tsubaki, The boy grabbed his swords and left Tsubaki alone.
As the courtyard returned to a quiet stillness, Tsubaki found herself in a moment of conflict. The desire to pursue the mysterious boy warred with the lingering presence that made her think twice. In the quiet aftermath, she weighed her options, contemplating the untold story that had just unfolded. The silence was abruptly shattered by the appearance of a magic circle. Two figures stepped out of it, one of them, around Tsubaki's age, possessed a slim body figure and sported a bob cut, her hair a sleek black. The other, closer in age, had brown hair. "Tsubaki, I was starting to get worried when you hadn't shown up to the house. What happened to your clothes?" inquired the lady with concern. Tsubaki, realizing her torn attire for the first time, quickly stood up and bowed. "I'm sorry, Lady Sona. I was on my way, but I got attacked by a group of high and middle-ranked devils," explained Tsubaki. Sona's face transformed from stoic to one of anger. "And what happened to these devils?" questioned Sona, her tone demanding answers. Tsubaki rose from her bowed position. "A person saved me. He killed the entire group by himself. Then he did something that I never thought possible." Tsubaki, Sona's initial anger gave way to confusion as Tsubaki recounted the events. The person accompanying Sona, equally puzzled, sought clarification. "He activated what appeared to be sacred gear. But no object appeared on him, just light around his hands." Tsubaki, but she was swiftly interrupted by Sona. "He has a sacred gear. What was this sacred gear?" Sona, her curiosity overriding her initial anger. Tsubaki took a moment to ponder before responding, "None in which we have knowledge on. When he activated it, he made the bodies disappear under our feet. That is why you see no bodies." Tsubaki, Sona, momentarily stunned, pushed up her glasses. "I see. This person has a sacred gear that we have no knowledge of, and it uses some kind of earth or other power. And it has no visible appearance besides light. We must speak with Rias about this matter." Sona, As the trio stood in the courtyard, a magic circle materialized below them. In a burst of magical energy, they left.
Authors notes
Thank you for reading. I hope you all enjoyed the new start of my story. Sorry for it taking so long to get this done and uploaded. I couldn't find the time or energy to write. When I could write a bit I was stuck with where I wanted the first chapter to start and go, but I got it to where I like it and how the story will progress from here. In my order story some elements I felt were rushed and I felt the beginning felt way too fast paced, it went through so many key points in way too fast of time with no proper build up or climax to the arcs. I made some major changes to some of my characters and to the original story. As I get to the original chapters of my story I will be using the old content with more added details and a proper story structure to them. The first chapter story is set 3 years before the beginning of the original start of High School DxD.
