Chapter 36: Reunion of Roars
Emilia and Echidna stand in front of the huge ice crystal that is now encasing the child that was herself. With her memories now unlocked, she is able to process the past that the first trial had shown her.
Many years ago, she lived in the Elior Forest with her guardian, Fortuna and the other elves. Ruin was brought to the village when the man known as the Archbishop of Greed, Regulus Corneas and a little girl named Pandora arrived seemingly with the goal to unlock a mysterious seal in the forest with Emilia's help.
Emilia refused and was saved by her aunt. However, due to absorbing the sloth witch factor, Fortuna's friend Guese dive straight into madness and mistakenly killed Fortuna thinking she was Pandora.
The trauma of seeing her guardian slain caused Emilia to freeze the forest in an attempt to strike back at Pandora only to encase herself in ice and freezing the other elves.
Echidna: If you blame yourself for the falsification of your memories, you are barking up the wrong tree. The one you saw then was the Witch of Vanity. There's no doubt that her Authority of Vanity padded out your distorted memories.
Emilia: If I ask you about Pandora, will you tell me?
Echidna: I seek out conversations with others, but in your case, I have no interest in digressions.
The witch of greed replied coldly.
Emilia: I see. Thank you. I was the one who turned them all into ice, and it was when they were trying to save me.
Echidna: By recalling the past, you saw the end of your regret. All that remains is to give your answer.
Emilia looks at Echidna with a bit of confusion.
Emilia: My answer to the trial?
Echidna: The first trial is completed by parting with your greatest regret. It comes when you either accept or reject your past self. The fact remains that your own sin caused your mother, your friends, and your family to turn into ice statues. Your determination to save them can't even be called idealistic. It was no more than a dream. So what is left for you?
Emila thinks back for a moment. The moment when Kaoi told her that within these memories, she'll find her most precious feeling.
Emilia: I've already been told that. Mother loved me. I wanted to save my mother... Mother Fortuna. I wanted to sleep in her arms again, together in the same bed. I wanted to tell her over and over that I loved her.
Echidna: Are you saying you regret that?
Emilia: No, I don't regret it. I don't regret keeping my promise and refusing to yield back then. If I regret anything, it's that I wasn't strong enough, that I wasn't smart enough to do better. But I'll never regret not breaking my promise with Mother to do as Pandora said. Because… Mother told me in the very end that she was proud of me for keeping my promise. That I was her treasure.
Echidna: Since you can't save her, doesn't that mean you've lost your reason to fight?
Emilia: Not at all. I couldn't save Mother, but I can't say that for certain about everyone else yet. They're still sleeping within the ice, waiting for me. Only I can save them.
Echidna: The forest has been contaminated by the Black Serpent. What if their bodies are corroded by disease, even if the frozen soil thaws? What if none of the land your people owned for generations remains?
Emilia: That's just imagining the worst. They're all waiting to be saved. I need to wake them up soon and let them yell at me. Then they'll smile and tell me they're glad I'm still alive.
Echidna: What a foolish delusion.
The half elf turns her body to face the witch in black to counters
Emilia: No, it's the prediction of a happy future! Mother said that, one day, we would all leave the forest and live normal lives. Just like how we were friends with Geuse and his people, and just how Kaoi said he'll be there for me, the world where Mother and Geuse should have walked side by side will come!
Echidna: And the villagers who turned into ice statues are there? The ones that you froze?
Emilia: I'll apologize like crazy. I'll apologize over and over until they forgive me. Then, once they forgive me, I'll show them the world. I'll tell them we don't need to live in hiding anymore. I'll tell them this is the world Mother Fortuna told us about! I'll sing my dreams until my throat goes dry, so Mother up in the skies above can hear me! I'll tell her that I'm going to live happily in the world she loved!
The world then cracks like broken glass.
Echidna: I see. I understand now. I thought I did before, but this exceeds my expectations. You are just that pushy, insolent, egotistical, and selfish. The pinnacle of hypocrisy.
Emilia: True. Is that bad?
Echidna: Your trial is now over. However egotistical its ending may be, it has most definitely settled your past. Keep using your mother's sacrifice as an excuse for your resolve to see your selfish wish through to the very end.
Emilia: Say whatever you want. I'm used to your insults by now.
Echidna: Two trials remain. I'd like to say I look forward to how pathetically you struggle…
Emilia has a look of surprise on her face.
Emilia: Huh? Wait, there are still more trials? Two more? So three in all?
Echidna: The remaining trials… I doubt they will pose a challenge to you.
Emilia: Really?
Echidna: Now that you're fighting back, they'll be a very poor fit. In a sense, you've abandoned all thought.
Emilia: That's super mean.
Echidna smiles as she said
Echidna: Well, I hate you.
Emilia: But I don't hate you nearly as much.
The world fades into white.
Trial Room
Waking up, Emilia finds herself back in the trial room. Smiling that she finally had passed the first trial and the people that helped her to do so.
Emilia: Thank you... so much.
Her smile then turned into a frown as tears flows from her eyes.
Emilia: I'm sorry, Mother… Mother… Mother…
Outside
Kaoi: I very much appreciated what you told us. Even when it was at your expense.
Shima: I always feared that removing the barrier would trample upon the wishes of Ryuzu Meyer, our progenitor.
Kaoi: I understand what you feel. However, when Emi passed the trials, then we'll help everyone find their own sanctuary in the outside world.
Shima: I leave it to you, Young Kao.
Kaoi: You wish rest upon me, now. You should now rest. Rem, Ram can you take care of things now?
Garfiel: Oh, Old Hag Shi's hideout would be better than Old Hag Ryu's place for that. I'll go with—
Otto: Whoa, wait a second! You shouldn't push yourself yet, either. We should let Miss Rem, Miss Ram and Miss Ryuzu handle it.
Rem: Sorry Garf but-
Ram: A boor like you charging at Lady Shima and interrupting her rest would defeat the purpose.
Bilma: Then I suppose I should go, too.
Ram: Rem and I would appreciate that very much. We would feel guilty leaving Lady Ryuzu in the care of two men who lack any empathy.
Otto: That's right. Wait, were you counting me as one of those m—
Later on at Roswaal's House
Kaoi, Otto and Garfiel now stand in front of Roswaal. Who is now out of his bandages and is dressed in his usual attire.
Roswaal: Never did I expect you to pay me a visit at a time like this and what brings you here?
Kaoi: I see you've put on your full attire.
Roswaal: I thought it would be most appropriate. This makeup is my way of preparing for a battle I cannot lose.
Kaoi: I see.
Roswaal: Well, Kaoi. What brings you here?
Kaoi: I'll get straight to the point. Roswaal, I've come to offer one last chance to surrender.
Roswaal: And why would I do that?
Kaoi: Because the pieces of your plan are getting out of alignment. Along with the fact that we've been privy to a crucial piece of information.
Roswaal: And what would that be?
Kaoi: Why the Sanctuary was created.
The demon slayer then recapped what was told to him by the Ryuzu who took the trial.
Long ago, Echidna lived in what would become the Sanctuary with Beatrice, the original Ryuzu Meyer and Roswaal's descendant, Roswaal A. Mathers. Together the four would seemingly live together in peace but it was not to be.
Echidna was being pursued by Hector, the Warlock of Melancholy. In order to be protected from him, Echidna and the first Roswaal worked together to create a barrier to keep him out. However, the Warlock managed to find them before they could finish.
It was due to the selfless actions of Ryuzu Meyer, who merged her Od with the catalyst of the barrier in order to activate it. That is how Sanctuary came to be to this day.
After Kaoi finished telling the tale. He looked to Roswaal who looked unperturbed by the story.
Roswaal: Assuming that story is true, what of it?
Kaoi: I'll say this once again, surrender. Call off your assassins and don't summon the White Rabbit. I won't say anything else on the matter.
Roswaal: I refuse, Kaoi. I didn't come through these years only to bend to a change of this degree. If you think bringing in a pawn from outside the board and removing Garfiel gives you an advantage, you are very mistaken.
Otto: Huh?
Kaoi: Outside the board? Is he talking about Otto?
Garfiel: What!
Roswaal smiled as he got a rise out of the tiger.
Roswaal: Am I wrong? You snapped so vigorously at outsiders before, and now you're one of Kaoi's merry band of friends. I am quite surprised at how quickly you changed your tune.
Garfiel: Heh! Nothin' you say carries any weight, Roswaal!
Roswaal: Carries no weight… After clinging to one desire every day for the past ten years, then letting it go with such ease, you say I carry no weight? What a pathetic joke. A wish does not simply go away. If you truly loved your mother and family, if you loved them that much, would you really change so readily? Or did you not love your mother and family at all? Is a wish that folded the moment your fangs were broken off what you spent your last ten years on?
Garfiel: Don't get the wrong idea. I didn't just decide to follow my boss 'cause he beat me in a fight. I spent ten years clingin' to the past. I just faced that past for the first time in ten years.
Roswaal looked at Garfiel in a bit of confusion.
Roswaal: You confronted your past? You? Garfiel: I ain't interested in tellin' you what I saw there or why I started followin' my boss. But I will tell you the one big reason I decided to follow him instead of you. 'Cause rather than the one who told me to stay weak forever, why wouldn't I follow the one who says, "Get stronger"?
Garfiel then noticed Kaoi and Otto smiling at him.
Garfiel: Huh? What?!
Kaoi: Nothing.
He turns to Roswaal.
Kaoi: He saw the past and is standing here as a result, that doesn't mean the love he had for his family for ten years is any weaker. The strength of his feelings hasn't changed. He changed without ever changing.
He then closed his eyes and took a heavy sigh
Kaoi: It's unfortunate you won't see reason Roswaal but I see you've decided to be adamant in this course of action.
What the demon slayer next irked Roswaal to his core as he opened his eyes to look down upon him.
Kaoi: I pity you, Roswaal. Here you are believing to hold the stronger hand yet you stand alone.
Roswaal: What would you know!
The mage quickly stands up to meet Kaoi at eye level.
Roswaal: For years, I have loved only one woman. That is far longer than the time we spent together. And even after being without her for so long, her image is forever burned into me. It never stops burning my very soul! My heart is still in pieces, as it has been since the day we parted. Nothing has changed for me! I'll say it one more time. I still have the advantage. For both you and me, so long as that one crucial person remains, the battle will never end.
Kaoi undisturbed replied to the angry mage.
Kaoi: That's where you're wrong Roswaal. Unlike you, I don't need the feelings of just one person to push me where I am now. Right now I stand with others who share my goals. Both back home and now here. I have found a new corp that will help me stand against you, Roswaal.
Roswaal: You-
The demon slayer turns away from the fuming mage.
Kaoi: I have nothing else to say to you. Let's go.
With that Kaoi, Otto and Garfiel left Roswaal to stew in his own anger.
After walking outside, Kaoi turns to face the blue haired maid who had downcasted her head. Having followed Kaoi after dropping off Shima, the servant had managed to eavesdrop on most of the conversation.
Garfiel: Ya' good, Rem?
Rem: …
Kaoi: Rem.
Rem: I'm fine, Kaoi.
Kaoi could tell that Rem was in fact not fine. Sensing the storm that is her emotions of anger, confusion and sadness.
Kaoi: Rem, I know you are feeling a flurry of emotions right now but I'm going to need you to push them aside. Just for this battle ahead.
Rem:..
Kaoi: When everything is over and everyone is safe. We can deal with Roswaal then. So please don't do anything rash. Please Rem, for everyone's sake.
It takes a moment but Kaoi can sense that Rem is somewhat heeding his words as her emotions make room for her resolve. The blue haired maid raises her head to Kaoi with newfound determination.
Rem: Alight, Kaoi. For you, I'll try my best.
Kaoi: Thanks Rem.
Garfiel: So what now, Boss?
Kaoi: Now?... Now I need to go to the mansion to stop the attack.
Otto: To say we're short-handed right now is an understatement.
Garfiel: Well, I'll go with ya, then.
Both the demon slayer and the green merchant looked perplexingly at Garfiel.
Garfiel: What?
Otto: Going to the mansion means leaving the Sanctuary. Wouldn't the barrier stop you?
Garfiel: Barrier? That ain't a problem.
Otto: Huh?
Kaoi: Oh! I see! I didn't realize that your father was also a half beast.
Garfiel: My mom had shit for luck and shit for taste in men.
KaoI; Well I wish you had told me sooner but later is better than never.
Small Time-Skip
After the revelation that Garfiel could pass the barrier, Kaoi and Rem quickly prepared a carriage. In the middle of preparations, Garfiel had called Kaoi over to look at something. Sitting in one of the seats were a pair of small steel shields.
Garfiel: I'm already the strongest there is, but with these, I'll be even stronger!
Kaoi: That's good as I'll be relying on your strength.
Garfiel: You can count on it. No one can run from Reinhard, as they say.
Otto: Everything's ready here.
Kaoi: Now we'll just have to hope we can intercept them in time. Thank you, two. I am really grateful for your help.
Otto: Oh well it's my pleasure, Mister Kaoi.
Kaoi turns to the two maids standing behind him.
Kaoi: I'll be counting on you two to take care of things here.
Rem: You can count on us, Kaoi.
Ram: Hmph! Ram doesn't need to be told. It is Bakaoi leaving everything to poor Ram and her sister.
Rem: Ram…
Kaoi smiles as he pulls something from his pocket.
Kaoi: Ram.
Throwing Frederica's pendent, Ram catches it in her hand.
Kaoi: It's good to know that I can still rely on you.
With that Kaoi entered the carriage with Gafriel as Otto had taken the reins connected to Raiju. With a simple crack of the reins, the trio sets off to the mansion. The villagers cheered as they see their heroes take off.
The Mission to stop the Mathers Mansion Massacre has begun.
A little later at the Ruins
After she had finished crying, Emilia had finally gotten up and made her way out of the ruins. When she makes it out instead of the group of friends that stayed behind, Emilia is only met by the Forgotten Pink Maid.
Ram: Welcome back, Lady Emilia.
Emilia: Ram? Where is everyone?
The maid would give a brief explanation of what had transpired in the few moments preceding this talk.
Ram: So the three idiots hitched the carriage to their very clever ground dragon and set off for the mansion. I had Rem wait at the bottom of these steps because there is something I wish to ask of you in private.
Emilia: In private…?
Ram: Lady Emilia, does your return mean that… The trial?
Emilia: Yes. I was able to confront my past, but it seems there are two more trials to go. So I'll have to go into the graveyard again later.
Ram takes a moment to truly take in Emilia's growth.
Ram: You truly have grown stronger, Lady Emilia.
The pink oni would then bow her head in sincerity.
Ram: Lady Emilia, I am truly sorry.
Emilia: What brought this on?
Ram: This is the first time I've ever lowered my head and meant it. Before now, I didn't believe that you would get back on your feet. But here you are now, standing in front of me, with your chest high and your eyes facing forward. You only lose a few points for the tear marks remaining on your cheeks.
Emilia: Huh? Oh, darn it!
After wiping away the tear marks, the half elf asks.
Emilia: So did you help Kaoi and Otto because you thought I was just a crybaby?
Ram: Don't be silly. It was you I helped, and you who determined that helping would be worth my while.
Emilia: It... was? But why? What made you decide to help me?
Ram: When asking for something, one must show one's sincerity.
The Oni then kneels, surprising both her sister and her lady.
Ram: I beg of you, Emilia-sama. Please save my master, Roswaal.
Emilia: Roswaal?
Ram: He has become possessed by delusions. Delusions that have bound his soul like a curse for a long, long time. I might not have have minded that. Even if he wouldn't look at me, even if he only thought of me as a tool...
Rem: What are you saying Ram?
Ram: But his delusions have already strayed from the path toward a clean conclusion. His wish has lost its direction, and he clings to words written purely for aesthetics. Please break through that.
The kneeling maid then flashes in her mind the image of her twin sister.
Ram: I have also been reminded of what has been truly important to me and I wish to protect it with your help, Lady Emilia.
Emilia: What should I do?
She returned her eyes to the ground.
Ram: Assume the royal throne. Once you assume the throne of Lugunica, Roswaal-sama's wish will be fulfilled. Even if he's walked astray from his path for so long, the day his wish comes to fruition will come. Please tell Roswaal-sama that. Give him a reason to live through both present and the future. Please, Lady Emilia. Please save him.
Emilia: I don't quite understand what my becoming the ruler has to do with saving Roswaal. I don't think I can truly understand your wishes just yet, either. But… This is the first time you've ever asked anything of me.
Emilia then looks at Ram straight in the eyes as she said.
Emilia: All right, Ram. You believed in me, and I want to repay that. I'm sure that's something I have to start on by myself now.
Emilia offers her hand to Ram who then takes it.
Roswaal: Would you mind… if I offered my congratulations to you, too?
Emilia and Ram turn their heads to see Roswaal walking up the stairs.
The Mathers Mansion
Running down the halls in her pajamas, Petra runs for her life as Teruo flies by her side.
Petra: I have to run... I have to run!
However in haste, Petra trips on the floor.
Teruo: Caw! Caw! Get up! Get up! Caw! Caw!
Petra: I'm trying…
The small maid said as tears threaten to leave her eyes.
Elsa: My, what an adorable little girl.
Petra: Eep!
Looking behind her, Elsa stands menacingly as she brandishes her blade.
Elsa: You must be the smaller maid and crow, then?
Petra starts shaking in fear as the assassin approaches.
Elsa: Are you shaking? Don't worry. I'm sure your bowels are absolutely beautiful. Good girl. I'll send you to meet the angels.
Petra braces herself for the incoming attack only for the window to break into shards
Frederica: Petra!
The beast maid comes in at the last moment to intercept Elsa's violet kukri. Holding it in her transformed hands.
Petra: Big Sis, Frederica!
Frederica: You are a bad girl, Petra! I told you to run away. You will be punished later!
Despite being scolded, Petra smiles at her savior.
Petra: Right... Right!
Elsa retracts her blade from Frederica's hand.
Elsa: How lovely. You must be the bigger maid, then. I'm so glad you're both together, and such good friends at that. I'll lay out your bowels side by side and find out if their insides go well together, too.
Frederica: From start to finish, not a word you've just said makes any sense. I cannot call it a tasteful way of thinking.
Elsa: Demihuman blood, I see. But after an experience in the royal capital that nearly k*lled me, my skills have improved. You can't handle me.
Frederica: I do wish I could lay blame on the person who failed to finish you then. Teruo! Get Petra outside of the mansion, now.
Teruo: Caw! Caw! Alright!
Petra: Be safe!
With that Petra got up and followed Teruo.
Frederica: I do not know who sent you, but Petra and I appear to be your targets.
Elsa: Yes. Two maids, a little spirit girl and a crow if I feel like it. I've never cut open a spirit, so I'm quite excited.
Elsa then threw four large needles at the running maid but Frederica to swat them away.
Frederica: Your personality is worse than your taste.
Elsa: She's a good girl.
Frederica: I am most proud of her!
The Beast maid charges at the bowl hunter.
Running down the stairs, Petra can feel the mansion shake from Frederica and Elsa's clash.
Petra: Big Sister… Maybe Lady Beatrice can do something!
Teruo: Caw! Caw! We've have to leave! We've have to leave! Caw! Caw!
Petra: But I have to do something to help Big Sister!
She tried opening many rooms to find the forbidden library to no avail. Her despair grows as she open each door to find a regular room.
Petra: Big Sister…
Looking at the cloth around her hand, the small maid breaks down in tears.
Petra: Kaoi… Help me!
Kaoi: Alright, Petra. I will.
Petra: Huh!
Teruo: Caw!
Looking up she sees the smiling face of the Demon Slayer.
Kaoi: I'm sorry we were late but we're here to help.
Ruins of Ryuzu Meyer
Unsuccessfully trying to fill Emilia with doubt, Roswaal left his maids behind to fulfill the last part of his place as the half-elf went to take on the second trial. However, he noticed he had a follower.
Roswaal: I suppose it would be easy to get here if one used clairvoyance. Did I not order you to wait for Lady Emilia?
Turning around he sees Ram.
Ram: Yes, you did but I had regulated that task to Rem.
Roswaal: Why do I have the feeling that you do that quite often? Then tell me. For what reason did you come here?
Ram: It's simple.
The fog surrounding Ram clears as it reveals the sword in her hand.
Ram: I've come to take you away…
She raises the blade at her master.
Ram: from the witch's delusions.
The mage paid no mind to this action.
Roswaal: Delusions, eh?
Ram: I've always considered them such. I just never said it out loud. Is it not obvious?
Roswaal: Seeing as I have no recollection of your actions before now. I suppose from your perspective, your humiliating days spent yielding to me have been long. I may have considered your behavior to be your way of expressing your devotion.
Ram: Beating up Garf served two purposes: to fulfill my goal, and to attempt to rectify his idiocy.
Roswaal: I cannot deny that it all worked out well in the end. Kaoi will naturally choose to walk a fine line in the final confrontation.
Ram lowers her sword as she reflects upon her relationship with Kaoi with guilt.
Ram: Kaoi had put his trust in me and I repaid it with betrayal and manipulation.
Roswaal: No doubt in my orders.
Ram: True but I was the one who chose to follow them. However time and time again, he has shown me that no matter what even if the odds are against you, you can still pull through in the end. You have the book, yes?
Roswaal: …
Ram: In the place designated for the final showdown, at the stage when you take action yourself, there's no way you don't have the Tome of Wisdom that you rely on above all else. I will now act accordingly with our vow.
Roswaal: Tell me Ram, what was this vow I apparently made with you.
Ram: … Those who wield the sword should die by the sword, those who rely on magic should die by magic, and those who give themselves to fire should die by fire. And those who ask favors of a demon should die by that demon. Whatever one relies upon should be the thing that brings about their death. And now the time has come. Now that I have lost that which I desired, I offer myself to you. If you don't mind that I am but an empty husk, you may do as you please with me. That was our vow.
Roswaal: So whether you let me live or kill me is up to you? You can finally achieve your retribution.
He then pulls out his tome of wisdom.
Roswaal: After all… You had no choice but to swear loyalty against your will to one of the men who destroyed your homeland, and live with him. Although you had to do it after losing your horn and your ability to maintain your form, suffering of this degree is uncommonly rare. There is no pawn more useful than you. Which is why it is such a shame… Your decision was just the slightest bit…
For the first time in this conversation, Roswaal frowns.
Roswaal: premature. It is impressive that you created a situation in which I had to carry the Tome of Wisdom. You should have overlooked this last step toward the action I was planning to take. That alone is the true shame!
He spreads out his arms as the crystal that holds Ryuzu Meyers glows ever so brightly.
Roswaal: This is the precious young girl who offered her own life to save her friend by becoming the Sanctuary's core. But my objective does not involve her.
Ram: You intend to use this magic crystal to cast great magic?
Roswaal: Great enough to change the weather. In accordance with the Tome, I will make snow fall in the Sanctuary. In order to use that magic, I require tremendous focus and a highly delicate use of mana. If I had been engaged in that, you most definitely could have shot me.
Ram: … There would have been no meaning in that.
Roswaal: And there is meaning in forcing me into capitulation when I am in my best condition? Or did you simply want to destroy me as quickly as possible?
Ram: No. You truly don't understand anything at all. I won't allow your wish to come true. Being offered a husk of you after your wish was realized would mean nothing. Receiving you in a broken state would not satisfy me.
Roswaal: Well, how very greedy of you. But do you believe you can defeat me now?
Ram: No, I'm sure I can't. My understanding of your power is second only to your teacher's.
Roswaal: Then how, exactly, do you intend to achieve your goal?
The mage smugly ignites his hands in magical energy.
Ram: I cannot win alone.
That much is clear. So...
Ram then revealed what was in her other hand. Frederica's pendent.
Puck: If it's two against one, I guess we have the advantage?
Roswaal, realizing who was inside the blue crystal, gasps and says.
Roswaal: So this is the main reason you agreed to Kaoi's plan?!
Ram: I told you, Master Roswaal. I'm going to take you away from the witch's delusions and atone for my sins.
The small cat spirit of fire then forms over the blue pendant crystal.
Puck: And I'm just a passing stray spirit. Well, time to pick up where we left off before!
Roswaal raises his and for an attack.
Roswaal: Come!
Puck summons ice crystals.
Ram gets into a stance as she focuses her breathing. Allowing wind magic to flow through her sword.
Ram: As you wish! [Focused Breathing]
The three powers clash.
The Mathers Mansion
Frederica crashes on to a wall.
Frederica: Why do you insist on aiming just below my chest every time?
Elsa: I suppose you could call it my hobby. I am the Bowel Hunter, after all. My hobby is cutting open bellies!
The hunter goes in for the opening slice.
Garfiel: Sorry but this belly…
Play Merry Go-Round aka Fairy Tail ED 2
With a mighty block, sparks fly as Garfiel intercepts Elsa.
Garfiel: Is one dat yor not opening!
He brings his fists together showing off the small shields he wears on his arms.
Frederica couldn't believe who was in front of her.
Garfiel: It's been a while. Hasn't it Big Sis?
He turns around to be shocked at the height of his older sibling.
Garfiel: Whoa, you're huge! Wait, are you my sister?! I feel like I should call you "Big Bro" instead.
He was met by a kick from "Big Bro"
Frederica: Don't be so rude the moment we see each other again!
A bit peeved at the comment, Frederical quickly got over it and smiles at her estranged brother.
Frederica: Garf, you have grown quite big.
Garfiel who was clutching his side from the kick replied
Garfiel: That just sounds like sarcasm! You're the one who's way too damn huge!
Elsa: So…
The golden siblings turn to the assassin.
Elsa: Can I interrupt your happy reunion now?
Garfiel: How nice of ya to wait for us.
Garfiel gets ready to fight while whispering to Frederica.
Garfiel: Yo, Sis— Big Sis, da little maid yor look'n after.
Frederica: Petra?
Garfiel: Yeah, her. Da boss had Otto go with her. Join dem as soon as you get an opening. I'm gonna have my hands full with this b*tch.
Frederica: What are you saying?
The beast maid is surprised at this statement.
Garfiel: Sorry, Big Sis. She ain't the type I can take on while worryin' about who's behind me.
Frederica: Garf…
Garfiel: You see my arm, don't ya?
Looking at his arm, Frederica recognizes the shields he wears.
Garfiel: This is the shield you and I played with when we were kids. It was runnin' with you that made me the strongest one there is.
Garfiel lets out a smile that reassures his sister before facing Elsa.
Garfiel: Bring it on, b*tch in black! We'll celebrate me gettin' out of the Sanctuary! The first thing I'm gonna do is bash up the first wall in my way!
The Forbidden Library
Beatrice was just alone reading her book until the doors opened.
Beatrice: Why are you here? I never called for you.
Kaoi: Sorry for the intrusion, my teacher. But I am here to drag you out into the sunlight.
