' ' Thousands of years ago, Dark and Light grew up in peace and harmony. Back then, both dark and light named Pokemon known as; Zeraora, and Marshadow. The two used to grow in harmony when both villager and outsider Pokemon never grew up with each other. Some dark types are considered friendly to a few villagers, but the rest consider these types of people are horrible Pokemon in their hearts. ' '

' ' Making matters worse, outsider and villager relationships grew very common in this world, causing the only leader in town; Major Soutland; a gruff and elderly Stoutland to hurriedly run outside and pray for Zeraora to deal with the past. As a result, the mythical god known as Zeraora answered the elder's prayers and fought against Marshadow, causing the shadow to lose the battle. ' '

' ' As a result, dark-types; like Sneasel, Absol, Mawile, or Thievul, are strictly forbidden to have relationships with outsiders; like Boltund, Bewear, Camerupt, etc. Non-dark pokemon such as; Serviper, Zangoose, or Drapion also face the same rules as well. Most town laws had forbidden relationships with outsiders, but some do not. However that's not the case. If one catches an outsider in a relationship with a villager, they have to face either punishment or death. ' '

A few towns allow relationships with outsiders, but a lot of them forbid them from doing so. Punishments from having a relationship with villagers are common in this world; like being forbidden to exit without an escort or a team member, but death is a brutal option. Even weaviles forbid sneasels from having relationships with villagers according to Zeraora. ' '

' ' Speaking of dark types, there are only two clans in this world; The feral, and the normal. Feral pokemon are wild beings that are known to be a lot more aggressive and stronger than normal pokemon. With attacks stronger than their usual moves, their jaws also have a strong grip. One bite and a team member faces death. ' '

' ' Both this passed law and feral pokemon exist in this world, and it's a dangerous society to live in- ' '

"What does a sneasel look like, Dad?" A voice boomed across the field, cutting the masculine voice off before he could finish his sentence. Out in the open village of ' Stone Town ' remains a small yamper; her green eyes sparkled like a diamond in determination, her face highly curious on what a sneasel looks like. She heard of such dark-types before, but she never saw one in her life. "Does it have one of those..big, sharp, claws!?"

A boltund, very tall as he sat down nearly looked like a shiny pokemon, except his colors are a lot different compared to other boltund. His eyes were completely glued to the excited yamper's, dopely standing there with a huge grin on her face. The boltund's face however looked very worried and serious.

"Oakley," The boltund said, revealing the yamper's name. "They're really dangerous and they can kill you." The male boltund then turned over to the bushes far away to where it led to what looked like a sneasel's clan border. "It's just- Here's the thing, sport."

"Sneasels are known to slash their claws across prey until they're dead." The canine continued, "If they're not lucky enough, only one slash is enough to kill them."

The yamper's smile faded as she heard the canine's explanation, "You don't want that to happen, do you?"

The small corgi slowly nodded her head in response. Watching the hulking animal get up from sitting down, he then leads Oakley back towards the den. "Now stay where I'm at, Oakley. We'll finish the lesson later."

Less than a mile away from Oakley's home village, a sneasel slowly pops its head out from the bushes. It's fur was a purple-ish indigo hue with a long, feathered ear on its head. Its face looked menacing, very enough to hunt for blood. Its eyelashes soon stood proudly, and it was a female sneasel. Born as a male but transitioned into a female just months after announcing it to the clan. It was a nervous experience, but one weavile held onto her paw and told her it's going to be okay.

Being the neatly-trained member that she is, she still forgets she was outside the clan border. That's when things had gotten too out of hand.

"VIVIAN!"The sneasel would gasp out a quiet,"oh no.."before turning her head towards what looked like a weavile. Its ears are long and it had a nasty scar on its face. It was Griff, and the tall, hulking frame made Vivian's heart climb up in fear.

"I thought I told you not to go outside the clan border, didn't I?" The masculine weavile's voice sounded gruff and husky. "DIDN'T I?"

"I.." The sneasel started, swallowing a huge lump in her throat. "I was just doing some scouting-"

"You know the rules, Vivian!" The weavile shouted, but hesitated to lift his claws, "Scouting only belongs IN the clan border!"

The yamper was getting bored of her father's daily lesson and felt like she had enough of it. Tired of hearing her father's lesson, the smaller corgi slowly sneaks out of the den while the boltund is distracted. Being the slightly-strict parent that he is, the boltund still forgets his offspring were out all alone, and it takes him at least a few moments to realize they're gone, or oftentimes even longer.

Her tiny paws slam against the ground before heading towards the sign that said, ' Now leaving Stone Town. ' Growing a wide grin on her face, Oakley slams her paws against the ground before less than a few minutes later, she finally reaches her destination. The weavile's known clan border. Usually it was known to protect others from going in and out, but the bushes were too easy to slip into, so it's a much easier task to slide inside without having to deal with splinters or leaves all over themselves.

However she is only aiming for a sneasel, and she was VERY interested in what a sneasel looks like. Hiding behind the bushes to avoid getting seen, Oakley's eyes focus against the now-distracted sneasel who was in the middle of a serious argument with a clan leader. A mixture of feminine and masculine shouts boomed across the room, causing Oakley to freeze not in shock, but from awe as well. First, she'd seen a sneasel, now her eyes were glued towards a weavile standing in front of the other.

The sneasel had the same features; purple-ish indigo fur with a pinkish ear feather. Her claws were a dim-blue, causing Oakley to gasp in awe. As the two stopped bickering with each other, the yamper slowly jumps out of the bushes to carefully approach towards the now-distressed sneasel.

"It's behind me!" Oakley shook as she noticed the dark-type was behind her. "Now, I gotta be more careful since that-"

Not realizing she was distracting herself, Oakley turns around and bumps into the sneasel, causing the two to both stumble and fall onto the ground. Oakley gets up in a flash and shakes the dirt off before noticing the looming, and glaring expression on the cat hybrid's face. The corgi swallowed a huge lump in her throat and tried to back up, but the sneasel followed her tracks.

"PLEASE DON'T EAT ME, MS. SNEASEL!" The yamper shouted a booming, shrieking voice that caused the sneasel to flinch. "MY NAME'S OAKLEY! I'LL DO ANYTHING FOR YOU! JUST DON'T EAT ME, FERAL!"

The sneasel's eyes glued towards the now cowering yamper before her face shifted. She turned away before turning back at the yamper who stopped cowering, expecting the dark type to slash a claw across her face, or worse, across her neck. However, the sneasel had another option.

The sneasel beckoned a claw to follow her, and soon the corgi obliged, following the friendly sneasel in her tracks. It was a rough trip at first; seeing a few pine trees that will lead to some of her species running over to attack her, but thankfully none had showed up. It was a calm and sunny evening and the sun was about to set. As Vivian came to a stop, Oakley stops as she bumps into her and glared at the dark type.

"Alright, what's this..'walk' you're taking me t-" The yamper cut herself off as she then saw what looked like a mountain just very far away. The sun was behind it, making the scenery more breathtaking than usual. She lets out a 'woaah'before moving on to the now-distracted sneasel, her eyes glued to the mountain far away from her and the yamper. "What is this place?"

Vivian snapped back to reality and opened her muzzle to speak. "This is MeadowGrove!" Vivian started, "It's where our species takes a break here!"

"Even me?" The yamper asked, but the sneasel remained speechless. "Do I ever take a break here?"

"Well.. You haven't been to this place before, but it's a perfect place to hang out with each other!" Vivian responded to Oakley. "Griff never allows me to play out there especially if we're not on duty."

The yamper grew a frown on her face after hearing those words from the sneasel. "How come Griff never allows you to go out there?"

"It's a long story.." Vivian sadly replied back. "Griff would always allow his clan members to take a break out here but not me. How come he lets his clan members take a break here an not me!?"

"Super strict guy, isn't he?" Oakley sighed a sad sigh. She then asked what the sneasel's name is, and it answered, 'Vivian'.

"And you must be Oakley!" Vivian started to talk, "I knew your name when you just..begged me not to eat you!"

Oakley would let out a nervous laugh before going back in her thoughts. The scenery was beautiful and the sun was just moments away from setting entirely. The mountain view casted a large shadow, causing Oakley to glue her eyes in awe. A herd of Sawsbuck were seen running in a group as well.

"So this is a sawsbuck herd.." Oakley informed Vivian, "My dad knows about that before!"

"Your dad!?" Vivian shook, "How does he know about that!?"

"My dad showed me the sawsbuck herd when I was very little!" Oakley responded proudly as she eyes the sawsbuck herd that stopped running. "Usually they stop running whenever they get a bite to eat or get exhausted."

"But," Vivian started, "I thought sawsbuck don't get exhausted."

"They do, Vivian. My dad taught me about them before." Oakley explained, Sawsbuck often get exhausted when they run too much."

Vivian was at a loss of words when Oakley started explaining everything about pokemon to the sneasel. She was born in a clan, a traveling clan. She's never heard of sawsbuck before, and never did until Oakley started teaching her about them. Sometimes the herd brings in their deerling children to come and play.

"Sawsbuck are very alert so you gotta be quiet." Oakley finished her sentence before noticing the sun had continued setting. "Aw man, I gotta get home. Dad might be worried about m-"

"Didn't I say we're leaving early?" Vivian glared at the yamper but kept a smile on her muzzle. "There's more I gotta show you! C'mon!"

Vivian grabbed the corgi's arm as she led Oakley over to the spot where Griff had forbidden her from going to. It took a few minutes for the duo to finally reach their destination; it looked like a large hiding spot that was completely covered in moss and vines all across it.

"This is the hiding spot where our species hides whenever we see a feral." Vivian noted as she dragged the yamper closer to the hiding spot. It looked like a cave formerly known as a hiding place for sneasels like Vivian whenever they saw a large feral nearby. If the feral disappears, the clan moves back into their clan space.

The yamper didn't feel like going inside the cave at first, but didn't want to bicker with Vivian, so she felt determined enough to take one little step to make sure the coast is clear. With one little step, the yamper turns her head around to make sure the coast was clear, and soon enough it was, leading Oakley to step even closer. Vivian proceeded to follow the yamper in the process.

Oakley has terrible vision with dark places, so it's impossible to step closer. Vivian on the other hand has better night-vision, and she was born with one. Being born with an ability to see in the dark makes it easier to lead Oakley closer inside the cave.

"This is where sneasels used to hide." Vivian spoke quietly, but what she hasn't noticed yet is what looked like a large pokemon amidst the slumber. It looked like a mightyena and it looked huge compared to Oakley and Vivian. Its eyes were closed and the pokemon was a heavy sleeper, so it's unlikely it'll be able to hear the duo's voices.

"Vivian," Oakley started in a quiet voice to avoid disturbing the large canine's slumber. "T-There's..a feral..right behind you."

Her shaky voice caused Vivian to tilt her head and turn around, and the corgi was right. There IS a feral pokemon behind her. The mightyena was busy keeping its slumber, but this doesn't stop Vivian from trying to depart. With the sun just a few minutes away from setting completely, it's highly impossible for the duo to make it out of the cave instantly.

"VIV..GET US OUT OF HERE..QUICK!" The yamper spoke in a quiet voice, and the sneasel obliged, taking herself and the corgi out of the cave. The mightyena lets out a loud snort as the two froze dead in their tracks, but soon fell back asleep like it was no big deal.

That is when the tables have turned horribly.

Vivian lets out a loud,"phew"not noticing the mightyena had heard the noise and woke up from its slumber. The two froze dead in their tracks as they both heard a slow, yet gruff growl that echoed across the cave. Slowly turning their backs, their eyes focus on a now-awake mightyena. It's eyes glowed a red hue and its fangs bared with anger. They must've disturbed the hyena's beauty slumber.

"RUUUUUUN!" The two shouted and soon the mightyena proceeded to chase them down. Towards the herd the sawsbuck were at, the herd noticed the duo being chased by the feral beast and soon ran off, leaving the duo the only ones out in the field. The mightyena froze dead in its tracks as it watched the deer herd disappear in the distance, before turning back as it then noticed both the sneasel and the yamper had gone missing.

"WHAT ARE YOU THINKING, VIVIAN!?" Oakley shouted as she and the sneasel ran to hide behind the bushes. "YOU JUST WOKE UP THE FERAL!"

"I-I'M SORRY, OAKLEY! I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS LOUD!" The sneasel boomed before she froze dead as she heard a low growl from behind. Her eyes shrank like beads and the yamper's face shifted in pure terror. "I-It's right behind us, isn't it?"

The two girls screamed as the mightyena continued to chase them down across the forest. Without having any options left, the yamper lets out a shrill bark as a ball of sparkling light shout out of her mouth. The ball landed on the mightyena's face, but that doesn't stop the feral beast from hunting them down.

"VIVIAN! WHY CAN'T YOU USE YOUR MOVES!?" Oakley shouted, "SHADOW BALL!? SLASH!?"

"I DON'T KNOW ANY OF THOSE MOVES!" What she hadn't noticed yet is that Oakley had usedSparkin order to distract the feral beast, but only one small beam of light isn't enough. "JUST USE YOUR MOVES AGAIN!"

Oakley lets out another shrill, horrified bark as another ball of light fires from her mouth, but this time the ball was smaller and it's enough to make the hyena flinch, but that doesn't stop there. That feral animal kept chasing down those two pokemon without hesitation. Oakley wasn't able to notice a dead end right in front of her, and that of course caused both the corgi and the sneasel to slam themselves against the wooden bark of the tree. They both fell onto the ground but quickly cowered as they watched the feral hyena slowly approach them with saliva drooping out of its mouth. That large monster is looking for the sight of blood.

"Oh dear Arceus.. We're gonna die!"Oakley thought as she felt tears prick her eyes. She thought this was going to be the end, but until suddenly, Vivian still hasn't learned any physical movements yet.

"Why can't you use Slash!?" Oakley shouted as the hyena got closer to the duo. "Hurry up and distract it!"

"I CAN'T!" Vivian cried but soon noticed a hiding spot not too far away. "Wait, we can hide there!"

Oakley nodded and dragged the sneasel out of the spot, taking the sneasel where they could hide behind the rock. The rock was large compared to the beast in front of them, but what makes it worse is that this wasn't a cave, so it's likely the feral monster would snatch both animals in an instant.

As Oakley and Vivian ran behind the rock, the two took a moment to catch their breath, ignoring the loud, shrill roars of the beastly hyena behind it.

"S-Surely the beast won't see us, will it?" Oakley asked but noticed Vivian had gone missing. "VIVIAN!?"

The corgi steps out of her hiding spot before stopping as she hears a blood-curdling scream that boomed across the forest. "VIIIVIAAAN!" The corgi screamed as she ran to follow the screams that were heard across the area. She then froze dead in her tracks as she noticed the feral beast grabbing ahold of the sneasel's feathered ear, one large paw pinning her down; chest on the ground and her face completely marked with dirt stains and scratches all over.

"LET GO OF HER!" The corgi screamed, but the hyena ignored her. It kept its fangs sunk against the sneasel's thin-feathered ear. Blood had started to pour out, staining the grassy floor in the process. Cracks can be heard but it's not from the sheer size of the paw on the sneasel's back, but because of the ear that was about to get torn off in half.

The hyena swings its head back and forth before a loud CRRACK!was heard. The feral beast lets go of the sneasel before sending it flying. Vivian hits her side against the rock before slumping onto the floor like a ragdoll. She was in so much pain she couldn't have the energy to scream. The feral mightyena kept a piece of her ear feather in its mouth before spitting it out, growing closer and closer towards the two pokemon.

"I..SAID.." The yamper's face shifted in a mixture of determination and fury as a beam of light grew inside her mouth. "LET HER GO!"

She would open her mouth to fire a ball of lightning in order to attack the feral hyena, but all of a sudden a black ball of light hit the monster instead, leaving Oakley confused for a moment. Blood started pouring onto the grass as Oakley pulled Vivian up before noticing a large half of her ear has been bitten off. She would open her mouth to speak, but froze as she noticed that same weavile from earlier, Griff, flying across the open field to slash his claws against the large monster's face.

"GO ON! GET OUTTA HERE!" The weavile boomed as the mightyena let out a low growl in defeat. Taking a few slow steps as it watches the weavile threaten the monster, the large beast finally steps out in the clearing, disappearing into the distance. The masculine weavile took a few seconds to catch his breath before noticing Vivian, slumped against the rock with Oakley right beside her, a large chunk of her feathered ear bitten off.

"Just what were you thinking, Vivian!?" The weavile shouted as he glared at the now-injured Vivian in front of him. The sneasel tried to apologize, but the leader cut her off in a second. "I thought I told you not to go out in MeadowGrove all by yourself, and now you've-"

"OAAAKLEEEY!"A loud, masculine voice boomed across the forest as Griff was about to finish speaking."OAKLEY, WHERE ARE YOU!?"

Finally, after a few miles, the boltund that was known to be Oakley's father, ran across the forest to find his daughter, right beside the injured sneasel and the weavile in front of them. "There you are, Oakley!" The male boltund shouted as he nuzzled his head against his daughter's. "Just what are you doing out here all-"

The male boltund didn't realize there was an injured sneasel right beside her. "Oakley, how did-"

"None of your business, villager.." Griff snarled as he bared his fangs, getting closer towards the boltund. "I've got to teach my clan member a little lesson."

"Please, Mr. Weavile!" The yamper would try to beg the weavile to stop him from attacking her, but the boltund stopped her from doing so. "PLEASE! YOU CAN'T-"

"Oakley," The boltund spoke in a stern voice. "Let's go home."

Letting out a sad sigh, Oakley wishes Vivian goodbye and follows the boltund in his tracks, leaving both the sneasel and Griff all by themselves.

"Vivian," Griff snarled in a gruff, husky attitude. "We're going home. Now.."

Back at Stone Town, Oakley was seen occupied with her father, while her mother was outside. The look on the boltund's face was serious and stern enough for Oakley to cower in fear, knowing she was in big trouble afterwards.

"Oakley, I am very disappointed in you." The boltund started, "First, you ran away from today's lesson, disobeyed me when I told you 'no', then got yourself in danger."

"But dad, I just wanted to see what a sneasel looks like!" Oakley snapped back. "I've never seen a sneasel before so I-"

"You chose to run off when I told you it's too dangerous to interact with this thing alone." The boltund's words were stern but he managed to keep his cool. "I heard screaming earlier that night and found you unharmed, and you're very lucky."

"Yeah, but that-" Oakley would try to explain the injured sneasel to her father, but he cut her off.

"Oakley, even though that sneasel is injured, you should NEVER go near it." The boltund growled, "They're pretending to be friendly but in reality they're not."

The yamper would let out a sad sigh. "Dad, the sneasel I met WAS friendly." She responded but her father decided to let her finish speaking. "H-Her name's Vivian and she led me over to MeadowGrove-"

"You're not allowed to play in MeadowGrive unless a trusted adult is with you, or at least you're old enough to do so." The boltund sighed sternly. "MeadowGrove is the safest place to take a break from, but there could be dangers out there and that could get you killed."

"Last time I checked, MeadowGrove doesn't have anything dangerous." Oakley responded, but the boltund kept a mixture of stern and worry on his face.

"Oakley, I noticed this feral mightyena chasing you down." The boltund snapped, "You screamed for me, Oakley! If you weren't there, you could've been killed!"

"B-But, what about Vivian?" Oakley asked as she kept tears from cascading down her face. "Will she be alright?"

The male boltund thought about it for a few moments before letting out a worried sigh. "She'll be fine, Oakley. It'll take up a long while for her injuries to heal."

"Will they?" Her father nodded in response. "Well, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for running off.."

"Apology accepted, Oakley," The boltund grew a smile on his muzzle only to fade afterwards. "But you'll be grounded for a day to learn your lesson."

The yamper was thankful she was grounded for a day, but she didn't want to talk back. "Alright, dad.."

"Good girl," The boltund yawned. "Go get some sleep and we'll start your grounding tomorrow morning."

"I AM VERY UPSET WITH YOU, VIVIAN!" Griff's booming voice echoed across the clan area, causing a few sneasels to jolt from his yelling. "I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU NOT TO GO OUTSIDE THE CLAN BORDER AND YOU CHOSE TO GET YOURSELF INJURED, DIDN'T YOU!?"

"B-But, Griff-"

"No but's, Vivian..!" The weavile growled as he proceeded to sharpen his claws. The booming, gruff voice of this furious weavile caused Vivian's heart to climb out of fear. "That feral animal hurt you and not only did you get yourself in danger, you also got yourself injured and jeopardized your future of becoming a clan leader!"

"I-I'm sorry! I-"

"For what!? For getting a small dog in danger or costing yourself a limb!?" Griff snapped back as he raised a claw. "All you do is goof off and run away when I'm not around!"

"I-It was-" Vivian tried to speak yet as Griff raised his claws even further, the sneasel started to cower in fear. She knew she was going to get a slash across her face any moment now.

"You got yourselfANDa villager in so much trouble! What were you thinking!?" Vivian started to cry, but Griff wasn't having any of it. "How pathetic.. You're crying and it's because you got yourself in danger."

"I-I-I promise it won't happe-"

"This is why the clan never wanted you in the first place, Vivian.." Griff snarled as he lowered his arm. "You used to be such a perfect sneasel fit for the clan, now you're nothing but a useless bone pile."

Vivian's eyes shrank and her heart started to race. Those words battered her skull like a gogoat. "Getting yourself and a yamper in danger, letting a mightyena tear a chunk of yourself off, disobeying my rules when I told you not to, you're nothing.."

Vivian's tears started falling from her eyes, but the leader ignored her sob story. "Weak, useless, pile of bones who do no good.."

Finally, the terrified sneasel opened her mouth to speak. "I..I was just trying to meet new people-"

The masculine weavile flew across the spot and landed his claws against the left side of Vivian's face. She stumbled and fell onto the ground, letting out a shrill yelp as her back landed on an unattended twig on the ground.

"YOU KNOW THE RULES, VIVIAN!" Griff shouted, "THE ONLY NEW PEOPLE WE MEET IS US! US, VIVIAN! OUR SPECIES!"

Blood started to drip down her face as the sneasel slowly got up. There were three claw marks on the left side on her face, very deep and bloody as drops started to stain both her claws and the ground in the process. The impact also landed on Vivian's left ear, and it was larger than what she had expected.

She was at a loss of words due to the sheer pain from Griff's claws to her face. So deep enough she started to sob.

"NEVER. DISOBEY ME AGAIN. UNDERSTAND!?"

Vivian would nod in response, but as Griff raised an arm to slap her across the face once more, Vivian cringed and opened her mouth to speak at breakneck speed. "YESYESYES! I PROMISE I WON'T DO IT AGAIN!"

Griff let out a husky grunt and soon walked away, leaving the scarred Vivian out in the open fields, dirty, matted with tears, and bloodied. Falling onto her knees, the sneasel started sobbing quietly, then soon transitioned into a louder cry. This was going to be hell as a clan member raised by an abusive clan leader himself.

END OF CHAPTER 1
