Volume 0 Chapter 1 Episode 1 - Prologue

The Superhuman Girl that Culled the Chaos.
A_Miracle_For_Those_In_Need

Part 1:

She had failed. They did not know yet but she had failed. She slumped in her seat, and stared at the ceiling.

Despite her best efforts to quell the chaos of the student populace, it would be for naught.

Some called her a superhuman, some called her a miracle worker, and yet for what was to come...

No.

She did not want to dwell on it.

She could not dwell on it.

Not now, not when the clock was ticking down.

She had to prepare, but not only for herself. Not this time.

However, she did not know if she was ready to do all of this.

Her heart was ready to do action, yet there was an underlying fear that grasped her heart, clenching it in a vice grip: the fear of going through with her actions.

It was a long shot. There was no guarantee it would work. The odds were stacked heavily against her, against them. And yet...

"..." She took a silent sip of strawberry milk with shaky hands, a deep breath soon after.

"Ha..." she sighed.

She had to.

For this was the only way she could.

This was her responsibility to bear.

Yet, she knew its weight was too much for one person to bear.

And so, she needed to seek out the only person who she could turn to in such a situation.

For she too, needed a miracle.

Part 2:

Warmth graced his body, as the color of dawn shone upon his closed eyelids. Instead of the familiar feeling of discomfort of acrylic that which he regularly rested upon, his body bobbed and shook upon the uncomfortable leather seat he was seated in. The distinct vibration and resonance, the rhythmic sound and chorus of train wheels upon metal tracks filled the silent air of the empty passenger car… no, that was not right.

His body felt heavy, his eyes struggled to open, as he gazed upon the other passenger… the sun's rays, which nearly blinded his vision, almost obscured the face of the girl in front of him.

"...the burden…" The girl with long, two-toned hair spoke to him, his sight beginning to focus as he tried to register her voice in his ears.

"...the cause and effect…" He took in her face, he didn't know who she was, but she spoke to him as if he knew her.

"...come to this for me to fully realize…" It felt like he was in a dream, the hazy feeling was clouding his hearing and mind, and yet….

"Forgive me for my impudence, but I need your help." A plea for help was something he could not ignore so simply amongst the drowning sea of white noise. Especially when the color of red had stained the pristine white uniform she wore as she sat across from him.

Before she could utter another word, like clockwork, his body instinctively pushed itself off of the chair, stumbling a bit towards the girl. Her eyes widened as she raised her hands up, but that only made the job more easier.

"W-wait let me-" Her pleas fell on deaf ears, as he took his jacket off and wrapped it around her upper body as best as he could. He'd been beaten up plenty of times to know where the origin point of her injury was, but didn't have enough strength or energy to get her to the nearest hospital.

He took a step back, shakily returning to the seat where he had awoken in. His eyes flickered, drooping even. Whatever speech she had prepared was utterly dashed, as she looked down and sighed, chuckling a bit as she winced in pain.

"I know you won't remember these words, but that doesn't matter…" She raised her head up and looked into his eyes, a cheery smile graced her face despite her injuries.

"Because even if you were to lose your memories, I am sure you would make the same decision in the same situation." A snort was withheld as she spoke those words.

"...however, there are things that I spoke of that I didn't truly understand up until now." Her smile dimmed, the way she talked was as if she wanted to say more, but refrained from doing so. But still, there were things she could say to him.

"Adulthood, responsibility, obligation… and the choices you make that extend beyond that ideal. I even understand their implications." Adulthood? He wasn't an adult yet. Was she talking about being mature? Regardless, he listened on despite the fatigue he felt.

"Therefore, Sensei..."

….who? Wait what?

"...you are the only one I can trust."

He wasn't a teacher.

"Only you can free us from this twisted, distorted fate..."

He wasn't even an adult.

"Please uncover the choices that will lead us to a new future."

Hell, he was still a high school boy! He wanted to ask if she had the correct person, if she wasn't being delirious from the blood loss, and what she was going on about. But he couldn't respond, his body was already shutting down, his eyes could barely stay awake, as her voice was starting to fade in and out.

"...so, Sensei. Please…"

He was going to help her, but if there was one thing he could say to all of this…

"...your… with all of us…""

Well what else could he say to such absurdity?

"...the precious memories… please…"

"...such misfortune." Kamijou Touma sighed, head nodding tiredly in compliance. His eyes closed and the embrace of sleep took over his body, as the nameless blue haired girl smiled at him, even as she bled out.
