"Uno!" I exclaimed as my twin Hermione was about to place a card on the deck. "Ugh, you always beat me" groaned Hermione as I handed her four new cards to add to her pile. Hermione was definitely smarter than me but she could never beat me in Uno. " We should get ready for breakfast" I said as I started collecting my cards and placing them in the box. " Yeah we should get ready, are you excited for your ice skating competition today?" Hermione asked as she put the box away.
" I'm a bit nervous, yeah " I said to her before I walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair. I stared at myself in the mirror while brushing my hair. Getting my long black curly hair took such a long time since it was so tangled, and I could never put anything on my face since my skin is pretty sensitive unlike the rest of my family.
I don't look like my family either, since me and my sister were adopted, I look nothing like my sister either. She has light skin and I have dark skin. She has light brown hair and I have black hair. I don't mind it but I can't pretend to be my sister so that sucks.
After I finished getting ready. walked into my room to finally see the outfit my team chose since I hadn't seen what it was. For me it was a white dress adorned with white crystals on the sleeves and chest. I had gotten a different outfit because I was playing the role of a princess who has to survive the times her sisters try to murder her since she was the heir. I quickly changed and walked down stairs for breakfast.
"Good morning mum and dad, when are we leaving?" I asked as I placed a serving of scrambled eggs and hash browns on my plate. "Good morning Sam, we're leaving in ten minutes," mum answered. "Can we go shopping after?" I asked hopefully. "Maybe, it depends on what time we leave," mum replied.
After eating breakfast, me, mum, and Hermione headed to the car. " Samantha, did you bring your water bottle?" mum asked as she started to drive. "Sam, I bet you 10 dollars your team will get first place." Hermione said jokingly . " No betting, you'll make Sam go broke," mum teased.
After 10 more minutes we reached the skating rink " bye mum, bye Hermione i'm going to catch up with my team see you later" i yelled as i ran towards my coach and teammates. I was the youngest on my team. Everyone was around 13 years old but I was 11 turning twelve in September but still it was my favorite thing to do.
After I reached my teammates the coach started a roll call. "Okay, is Jules here….. Carol… How about Abby, here, Samantha….. Jane….. Kristi here. Now that we're all here we are ready to start, you have 5 minutes to stretch, drink water, or use the bathroom before we start makeup and hair " Coach Elise announced. I decided to stretch. First I did some lunges, a jog in place for a minute then jumping jacks.
" Okay everyone break time is over,sit at one of the chairs, your moms can help do your makeup and hair " The coach Elise directed. Everyone found their places and pulled out their spot. Mom walked into the room and brought over some makeup and a hair straightener. I pulled out my brushes, eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, and makeup gems, and got started. For my eyes I did my eyeshadow. It was a white with a silver base design. I then lined it with the fake sticker gems. For my lips I just did a pale pink. My mom straightened my hair and added a few curls, and soon enough I was all done. From my bag I pulled out some nylon stockings and put them on. I then put my ice skates on and slipped my leg warmers on too. Soon enough the whole team was ready and we all lined up by the entrance to the ice rink while waiting for our turn. " Bye sam good luck i'll be watching from the stands" my mom said as the announcer called our team on " And the last recital the fallen princess goes on" he yelled as We all slid on the ice as the music started. I skated around the girl who was playing as the queen along with the girls playing the two younger sisters. The queen passed the crown to me and skated off the rink which meant I was the heir. I skated away and twirled. As the sisters tried to pull me back but I leaped and broke out. They then skated in front of me and I twirled and headed away.
. I skated to the mom and tried to hold her hand but she skated off the rink which meant she had died. I placed the crown on my head and broke into fake tears and the sisters finally pulled me back as the music ended. We all bowed and skated off to where our coach was waiting. "Great job girls, especially you Sam. I liked the emotion" she complimented us. I Slid on my jacket on and waited on the benches for the judges to decide the winners. .
"Third place, shining star. Second place, shattered heart. First place….. The falling princess!" the judges announced. My team leaped in joy and cheered as we were giving our trophies. I found mom and Hermione and we all walked to the car. By the time we had left it was 2:34 pm. "Sam, do you still want to go shopping or do you want to go home?" mom asked as she backed out of her parking spot. " Let's go home instead, can we go shopping tomorrow?" I asked. "Of course, I still have to call grandma and grandpa and tell them you won first place" mum exclaimed
