Chapter 8: Battle on the Battlements
The last bout Foxy fought with Kung Fu Bunny not only boosted her confidence and abilities, but also see a different side to her combatants. Many were in it for the glory, some were personal, this last one not only gave her a good bout, but at the same time feel that sometimes some bridges needed to be built, she wanted to help the bunny's monastery flourish. She dedicated her life to helping others at her own expense, a few bruises in her fights meant very little to her, though she recently acquired many from her rough fights.
Further progressing through the castle she pondered who she'd be fighting next, perhaps the Dali Llama had a bodyguard of some description even though he was a martial arts master. All that remained to be seen when she reached the top of the castle, it was storming outside with lightning. There was her next opponent, a mysterious panther, clad in dark blue robes, his eyes hidden behind his hood. This was the Pantha, a leader of a mysterious though sinister cult, no one knew of their true intentions, though part of their dark rituals did involve sacrificing lambs and perhaps other things, no one knew the full truth. The panther said nothing as he just greeted her and prepared for combat.
Foxy took the first strike, jumping at him with a kick, only to have it blocked and then blocked again when she tried again. Then the panther jumped over her and then delivered a kick of his own, knocking down Foxy, she then got up and away, but no sooner did she get back up, the panther cupped his hands and then a small flame shot out of his hands and hit Foxy knocking her down again. She got up, was a good ways away and attempted to block another projectile coming her way, as the panther cupped his hands again, but this time she felt some energy taken away from her, it was time to go on the offensive. Stepping back three steps and then a few more, she then launched herself into a somersault position, rolling towards her dark adversary and as seen as she got close enough, thrust her fingers straight at the face of her opponent, knocking him down. She then jumped back and then patted her rear end just as he squatted down and an aura of electricity surrounded him. Foxy then jumped forward and delivered a kick to the panther, knocking him down. As soon as he got up Foxy kicked him again in the head, stunning him. Foxy then jumped backwards as soon as he regained his senses and then launched another fireball at her, but Foxy was able to block the shot, the panther fired another, but that got blocked too. Foxy then rolled at him again and did the finger thrust, but the panther blocked the blow, she backed off and then rolled forward till she stood on on hand and then kicked him, as soon as that happened, the panther disappeared, leaving only his robe behind. Foxy stood normally and then pondered what happened to her opponent. Somewhere in the sky, evil laughter could be heard, she had no idea what became of the dark panther. Foxy then spun around on one foot and had her arms out wide smiling over her victory.
She then felt the familiar presence again, and got into meditative trance. There she was in her mind, an audience before the Dali Llama on his throne in his floating shrine.
"My most promising combatant! You've just thwarted a sinister cult from thriving! As your final reward, you have one more move to learn, this time rolling low!" Pondering what he meant, Foxy thought for a bit before realizing what he meant. She squatted down low for a bit, and then rolled forward before delivering a low kick. "Brutal!" The Dali Llama exclaimed with approval. "I can help you no more, we shall meet soon if you can, there's one more opponent before me, one I didn't invite he came on his own will, you must teach him some respect!" After that Foxy got out of her trance and then continued on her way, this time out of the castle.
