Twilight Meets The Dawn Prologue
It's been 10 years since the ALZ-113 virus was set loose and ran rampant across the globe. The result brings humanity's numbers down to near-extinction levels. Because of this heavy loss in numbers food for vampires whether they live as nomads or in covens has become scarce. Therefore, leaving them to become more careful in their hunting methods or find new ways to quench their thirst altogether.
The Volturi in Italy are one coven that became lost from starvation. They'd relied constantly on human blood to sustain them, refusing to adapt.
The Volturi ended up dying out from stubbornness and pride with many others following them from starvation.
One coven has no such problems since they never desired human blood in the first place. So essential to their diet.
The Cullen's were better at adapting to the world's change in circumstances than most of their kind, but that doesn't mean things are any less difficult for them.
While the need to hide is a lot less now, they still must hide what they are while craving human company.
The San Francisco Colony in California is one such place in California where they've found sanctuary. The city is so deserted that they can live on their own in the house of their choosing while remaining close to where the humans have amassed their home.
The Cullen's view the Redwoods across the water as prime hunting grounds where they can feed and no one will bother them there.
But on their first hunting trip up there the Cullen's are met with a surprise they weren't expecting to find.
Apes.
Hundreds and hundreds of them.
And intelligent ones to boot.
What the Cullen's are going to make of this is a mystery including how their very presence appears to change the course of history.

I was having a Twilight movies marathon when I was working on my Planet of the Ape stories and that's where inspiration struck with this idea. To be honest I don't know how far I'm going to get with this one. There are a lot of different factors added in now. So, I'm open to suggestions if you think of any to offer. My ear is always open.

I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.
So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.
