The Unforgiven
Chapter 1
She longed for a new beginning. A fresh start.
She had stayed away for a long time.
Wanting and needing to forget. The town. The people.
It was fall. Cool. And crisp in the air.
The small town of Tree Hill had remained comfortable and safe.
She entered Karen's cafe and was flooded with memories.
"Brooke. I didn't think you would ever come back here." Karen Roe said. As she started to make her order.
Brooke smiled shyly. Taking a sip from cup. Hot cider and an apple cider donut.
"It's really good to see you Karen. I'm only here for right now." She replied.
Karen got out from the register and pulled Brooke into a hug.
Brooke hugged her back. She soon broke the embrace. And left.
Minutes later. A laptop shut and footsteps made its way towards the register and display.
"Brooke was just here." Karen announced.
"I saw her." Lucas said.
"And you didn't go talk to her. Why is that?" Karen asked.
"Everyone in town knows why especially you." Lucas replied.
