Under the influence of the Spell of Shattered Sight, Anna throws her necklace away, breaking it in half, and trapping Elsa in the urn, pointing it towards Elsa "Do what you will, but know that no matter what, Anna, I love you" Elsa told her as she is sucked into the urn becoming the new prisoner of the object. As soon as Elsa is trapped, Anna became confused as the Spell cast on her breaks, "Wait, what?"
"No!" Ingrid exclaimed in shock. Anna realizes what she had done when she sees the urn in her hands. She then spots the Snow Queen and demands to know what she made her do, Ingrid calls her a foolish girl and grabs the urn from her, telling her that this is all her fault. Anna backs away in fear as Ingrid approaches. Ingrid sees the fear in the young princess's eyes, "I know that look in your eyes, you see me as a monster. Well, eventually, everyone will see me as a monster. Maybe it's time to embrace that... And become one." Before she could do anything, Kristoff comes in and tries to stop her, but Ingrid pushes him back to the wall, freezing his hands and feet. "This is between me and her. But you can watch..."
Without a warning, Anna gasps as Ingrid's hand thrusts forward at her chest, Anna gasps in pain as she feels Ingrid's hand clutch around her heart. She then uses her ice magic to freeze Anna's heart. Anna could feel the familiar feeling of ice crawling up her heart, but felt no pain.
"Don't worry, my dear, this will all be over soon." Ingrid smirks as she sees Anna's hair turn pure white her eyes turn icy blue and then her skin slowly being covered and turned to ice. "Don't worry, I will take good care of Elsa, and I'll do it much better than you took care of her. If you happen to wake up, she will be much different; she will be like me, and she won't need you anymore. And if you or your friends ever get in my way, I promise you, will not hesitate in getting rid of you and them forever. I promise you that... Tell your mother, I said hi." Ingrid uses her magic to speed up the process and cover all of Anna's heart in ice, turning her into a frozen ice statue. Throughout this whole thing, Kristoff used all the strength he had to escape the ice but failed.
Ingrid removes the ice, and the door to the room opens, revealing Hans and his brothers. Hans admires the frozen statue of Anna. "That was quite the show. You managed to do what nobody could do. You turned them against each other..." Before he could finish, Kristoff tried to tackle him but was held off by Hans' other brothers. "You dare attack the king?"
"You're not the king!" Kristoff says.
Hans laughs, "The Queen's gone... the princess is frozen. All that's left is you, an ice harvester. I'll just tell them the sisters had a big, nasty fight, and the queen lost control of her magic and froze her sister's heart. Then, I imprisoned the queen in a prison for evil magic users."
"They'll never believe you," Kristoff argued. But Hans smirks, "Well, who are they going to believe: A prince or a poor ice harvester?" Hans sees one of the broken halves of Anna's necklace, placing it in Kristoff's pocket, "Here's something to remember her by." He then goes to Ingrid and asks what she thinks he should do to him. "You're the king now, you can do whatever you want to him. But, a piece of advice... he's more valuable alive than dead. He knows more about the kingdom than you do... Your Highness."
"Perhaps you're right." Hans tells his brothers to take him to the dungeon, leaving Ingrid alone in the room. She then uses her magic to extract Elsa's memories from the urn when Rumplestiltskin appears behind her from a dark puff of cloud, "I see someone's been practicing their rock-troll memory magic. Quite impressive, dearie." He notices and approaches the frozen Anna. "You know, I... I prefer her better that way. More cooperative. Less mouthy," Rumple diverts his attention to something else as he walks over to the fireplace, He grabbed the other half of the broken necklace that was thrown by Anna, "This was much lovelier when it was around her neck. You know… When she was still alive."
She then asks Rumple what he wants, and he explains that he's after a trinket that her niece stole from him, a hat. Ingrid tells him that she hasn't seen it, causing him to laugh and point out that lying is so unqueenly. Then, the urn in her arms vanishes into thin air, and she marches towards the Dark One, demanding to know where Elsa is, commanding that he give her back. "Careful, dearie. You're not the only one who knows how to hide something of value. We wouldn't want it lost forever, now would we? Though I'm curious why you took memories from that poor girl. I mean, you would have thought being trapped inside a bread bin was punishment enough." Ingrid explains that Elsa has learned more than she was meant to and she wanted them to have a fresh start. "Don't we all, dearie? Don't we all..." he utters, he offers her a deal, "An urn for a hat, as simple as that. And, just to make it easy for you, when you 'find' the object of my desire, just say my name three times and I shall come to you. See you soon!" He giggles before disappearing into a flurry of red-purple smoke. Ingrid leaves Arendelle unfrozen for about 3 years, letting its inhabitants to be part of Regina's Dark Curse, taking them to Storybrooke.
During the three years in Arendelle as King, Hans imprisoned Kristoff in the basement, but he would later escape with the help of Arendellian guards who were not on Hans' side and informed the King that he escaped all on his own and now Kristoff is now forced to return and live with the rock trolls, where he hides from Hans.
He placed Anna's frozen statue in the middle of the town square, where he told the people his version of what happened. They did not believe him, but they were forced to, as those who did not follow him would be killed. They were also forced to accept him as their king for about three years.
Three years later, Regina activates her Dark Curse, taking the kingdom's inhabitants to Storybrooke and giving them new memories and personas for 28 years.
Thanks to the ice in her heart, it protected the princess, and Anna kept all of her memories while also having memories of the town persona given to her by the curse, but she pretended to be cursed to not get Regina and other people suspicious of her. In the town, she is known as Joan Summers, one of the town sheriffs. She owns a motorcycle, allowing her to know the residents of Storybrooke as well as the nooks and crannies of the town, which helped her find where her people are placed in town which was in a village near the docks and where the rock trolls are now humans and own a bar with Kristoff called The Rolling Stone Bar. However, fearing that Ingrid could be in town and believing every word she said, she decided not to make any contact with them, leaving them alone. She also tried to find her sister in town, and couldn't find her.
Years later, during nighttime on her night patrol, she witnesses Ingrid magically entering the town and makes the decision for her to be careful and make sure that she and Ingrid doesn't cross paths. Then, after Regina adopted Henry and he found the storybook, Henry took the book to the ice cream shop where Ingrid worked and read it until he fell asleep. Ingrid called Sheriff Graham to tell him about Henry and he picked him up, leaving the book behind, leaving it in Ingrid's hands, who saw the story of Anna and Elsa, including a page of her freezing Anna's heart. She rips the pages out and puts them in a box filled with other important files. Henry returned the next day to get the book back and thanked her for keeping the book safe.
Then, after Henry brought Emma to Storybrooke and the curse slowly started to break, the ice inside Anna started to return very slowly. She wondered if Emma coming to town was the reason for this, and she befriended her to know more about her, and she found out from Henry that Emma is the daughter of Prince Charming and Snow White. With this information, she also tried to help Henry and Emma breaking the curse, giving them information of each town resident.
After Graham's death and with her condition getting worse, she and Emma met at Granny's after Emma became the sheriff of the town, giving her all the things she needed to be the town sheriff, telling Emma that she is retiring due to a heart condition she discovered a few weeks ago that has been affecting her job.
Before Emma broke the curse, Anna's heart was almost covered in ice, leaving her unable to move fully. She stayed home and accepted her fate as the ice took over her body and heart. However, Mr. Gold brings magic to town, which allows Anna to move and function as a person at will, but her entire body, from head to toe, her body stayed frozen. Fearing that the people would be afraid of her, she stayed in her home. However, she discovers that she has different abilities of ice and snow, allowing her get around town without scaring the townsfolk.
