It was a day like any other.
I had been following Kacchan and his friends on a log. We had been hoping to catch some bugs and other creatures when Kacchan slipped into the water below.
My instinct had been to jump down and help him, but as soon as I did, he yelled at me, shoved me away.
"GO HOME, DEKU!"
And so I did.
However, something struck me odd when I did.
I had always been curious, even as a young one.
However, I wonder if in an alternate universe I wouldn't have to see my mom get murdered in cold blood.
When I opened the door, a man was standing in front of my mom, his hand around her throat.
The man turned to me, red eyes crazed as he smiled.
"Why hello there, young one." His voice was raggedy, like sandpaper. "Don't be shy. I was just having a nice little chat with your mom here."
I stood there, looking at my mom as she shook her head very slightly, almost as if telling me to run.
Instead, curiosity took hold of me. I closed the door behind me and walked up to the man. "That's an interesting way of talking. What's it called?"
The man smiled. "There we go. That's a good
boy."
"Izuku…" My mom choked out. "Please. This man…he's not a hero…"
The man placed his final finger on her throat. "I'm tired of your yapping."
And just like that, she disintegrated into gray dust.
I stood there, kind of like an idiot as the man turned to me. "Well, this level has officially failed. See you around, ki-"
"Can I have a Quirk like that?"
The man stopped in his tracks. "What?"
I pointed to his hand. "I don't have a Quirk. I want one like that."
The man smiled wide. Really wide. Wider than the fake smile he had put on for me before. "Is that so? Very well then." He held his hand out to me. "Come with me…"
I took his hand. "Deku."
"Nice to meet you, Deku. I'm Shigaraki, leader of the League of Villains."
