Disclaimer: I don't own One Piece or This Bites. These belong to their respective owners, I'm merely taking inspiration from the two and adding my own characters to their worlds. I hope you enjoy.
Please enjoy the new start to This Bites: Trinity Mission!
Sorarocks: Did you see the newest episode of One Piece?
SheperdofFire: Yeah, that was amazing, I mean we knew Garp was strong, but we had no idea he was that strong.
Sorarocks: I guess Garp took inspiration from Luffy when they avoided him at Water 7.
SheperdofFire: Guess so,
KeybladeTerra has joined the chat.
KeybladeTerra: Sup guys!
Sorarocks: Terra! Hey dude how you been?
SheperdofFire: Hey Terra! How are you doing?
KeybladeTerra: I'm doing well, just got off work. Gonna watch some more One Piece, need to catch up to you guys.
Sorarocks: DO IT! Latest episode is so good.
SheperdofFire: Just wait till you see what the Hero of the Marines can do. It's crazy. No way he was going all out at Marineford. There would not have been an island left.
Sorarocks: Hey, speaking of have either of you heard of a story called This Bites?
KeybladeTerra: I'll try and catch up soon.
KeybladeTerra: Nope never heard of it.
SheperdofFire: Can't say I have.
Sorarocks: It's a self insert. Basically a writer gets dumped into the world of One Piece by a god-like being, and traps him there for his amusement. The main character is Cross, who ends up meeting a Transponder Snail that he names Soundbite, because it ate a Paramecia Devil Fruit he calls the Noise Noise Fruit, following me so far?
SheperdofFire: Yeah, sounds interesting, keep going!
KeybladeTerra: Sounds cool!
Sorarocks: Okay, so he ends up joining the Straw Hats, and alot of things change because he has knowledge of the story. All the way up to the end of Dressrosa. Anyways, lot's of things change including Vivi getting a bounty, Alabasta going revolutionary and more.
SheprdofFire: That sounds crazy, I gotta check this out.
KeybladeTerra: So, where are you going with this?
Sorarocks: Well, I was just wondering what it would be like getting put into a story like that. You know, i'm sure it would be quite the crazy journey.
KeybladeTerra: Yeah, and honestly it's one of the safer anime worlds to get plopped into. Think about it, devil fruits give quick access to powers without having to train them up.
SheperdofFire: What kind of devil fruit would you guys want if you guys got sent there. I'd want a Mythical Zoan.
Sorarocks: I'd probably go with the same. Normal Zoan's are kinda meh, but Mythical one's open all sorts of special powers.
KeybladeTerra: Honestly, I'd probably go with something that could help me stay alive. There's lots of things to be concerned about in the Grand Line.
SandsofTime has entered the chat.
SandsofTime: So those are your choices? Very well, I'll see what I can do.
Sorarocks: That's true.
Sorarocks: What the hell?
SheperdofFire: Terra you invite this guy?
KeybladeTerra: No, not me. Sora?
Sorarocks: Nope, uh….Hello?
SandsofTime: Well that's a more cordial greeting then I usually get. Hello there, I couldn't help but overhear your conversation, and i'm here to grant that wish. I don't have time to explain, but needless to say, i'll be keeping an eye on you all. If you need help i'll do what I can. Until we meet again.
Sorarocks: Wait-WHAT THE HELLLLLLLLLLLL!
SheperdofFire: NOOOOOOOOOO!
KeybladeTerra: FUCKING BULLSHIT!

BitchinglyRidiculousOutstandingBiotch: WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO KRONOS!?
SandsofTime: Ah right on time. Good I was meaning to inform you. Something is amiss, and abnormalities have appeared in the timeline. I have selected three suitable candidates who will be helping me fix things.
BitchinglyRidiculousOutstandingBiotch: I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THAT! IF YOU SEND ANY MORE HELP IT WILL RUIN MY FUN, BASTARD!
SandofTime: Rest assured they won't be interfering with your plans all that much. Only a few things here or there. Primarily the fire boy's capture and his imprisonment.
BitchinglyRidiculousOutstandingBiotch: THAT'S THE MOST FUN PART! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING!?
SandsofTime: Calm down. I've already taken it into account. Rest assured the boy will still be captured, naturally. However, there will be unforeseen obstacles in the way of things. We will need more pieces to make sure the timeline remains stable.
BitchinglyRidiculousOutstandingBiotch: …
BitchinglyRidiculousOutstandingBiotch: And you're sure they won't ruin my fun?
SandsofTime: I guarantee it. In fact they might be a little entertaining themselves…Just know, this isn't up for discussion. They are a necessity to keep things from falling out of balance.
BitchinglyRidiculousOutstandingBiotch: Fine! Do what you want, but just know, if they ruin my plans, then they won't be the only ones who suffer.
SandsofTime: I'll keep that in mind.
SandsofTime: Was that all?
BitchinglyRidiculousOutstandingBiotch: Yep, that's about it. Later Sandman!
BitchinglyRidiculousOutstandingBiotch has left the chat
SandsofTime: Always on the move.
SandsofTime: I pray for your success
In another place and another time, a lone fisherman was out at sea trying to provide a meal for his family and bring in money to live on. This fisherman was older, in his early 50's and he looked it too. His skin was slightly wrinkled but his body was well-built.
There was one feature that would appear odd if someone were to see him for the first time, and that was the fact his hair wasn't normal at all. Instead of a regular cut, his was anything but that.
His hair was shaped like the leaves left after corn is harvested, fanning out on three sides.
This incredible hairstyle gave his parents the inspiration for the most creative name they could think of.
They named him Cob.
At one point in his life, the man hated the name with a passion, cursing his luck for having developed such an eccentric feature as he grew older. Yet, as the years went by and Cob began to make connections to those close to him, he found himself growing more fond of the name. In time, it's what he preferred being called.
His grizzled face shifted as he looked at his haul for the day. He had about 100 give or take but he figured he could get more, with another cast of his cage. With this in mind, he started to prepare it. The bait he had wasn't anything special; just some meat from a sea king that thought it would be a good idea to stop him from getting his daily quota.
Cob finished off by shutting the trap, grabbing the rope, and connecting it to the cage. With strength that was very much superhuman, he threw the heavy cage into the sea and watched as it slowly sank to the bottom. The buoy floated atop the waves, as Cob tied the line onto his ship, securing it in place. As he sat down in his chair, he cracked open a bottle of beer, with a simple flick of his thumb.
He took a long swig of his drink as he tried to clear his mind. His eyes showed that he hadn't had a good night's sleep in a very long time.
"God, what I wouldn't give for something to read right now.
"CAH!"
Cob stopped as he heard the noise and looked up. Flying above him was a news coo. Was it already Monday? No, probably not… but he couldn't be certain.
He looked up at the bird and waved it over, the bird happily landing on the boat, ruffling its feathers a little. Cob watched as the bird shuffled its beak into the bag it was carrying and pulled out just what Cob had expected, a newspaper.
Cob smiled and patted the bird. "Thank you, I was just looking for something to pass the time." he got up and walked over to his haul he had for the day and pulled out a small fish for the feathered delivery avian.
"Here's a tip." He said, as he tossed it to the bird who happily caught it with his beak and proceeded to snack on the tasty treat.
"Cah!" The bird squawked, flapping its wings, and clearly pleased. Cob watched as the messenger bowed its head politely, before taking flight toward his island.
As soon as the bird left, Cob's smile faded. If the bird was out delivering mail then that meant there was some news that warranted it not being on its usual scheduled delivery date.
Sitting down in his chair, the older man opened the paper and started reading.
There was not much to be mentioned at first, some pirates had tried to go to Amazon Lily and hadn't been heard from since. "Poor fools are probably dead, I haven't heard of anyone coming back from there alive." He muttered as he continued reading.
Apparently, there was unrest in the Kingdom of Alabasta due to a lack of rainwater. "Not a good thing to have happened to a desert nation." He mused as he kept going over the articles.
"A tournament being held on Dressrosa soon? If I wasn't retired I might have entered…hmmm, could be a good way to blow off some steam."
He made it to the bottom of the article and his eyes widened at what he read.
"Seriously? He ended up joining up with them? The old man has an even stronger crew now."
He was about to turn the page to see if there was anything else when something shook his boat. A loud cracking sound in the air like thunder. The old man stood up quickly, grabbing his knife as he prepared to cut his line. Being a Grand Line native, he was well aware of the unpredictability of the storms the sea could bring.
As he looked into the air he saw something heading straight towards his vessel. He maneuvered the ship out of the way, just as something crashed into the water next to him. A geyser erupted from the point of impact, as Cob quickly ran to the side of the ship to see if he could determine what crashed down next to him.
He didn't see anything at first, but then he saw it. Two figures, both struggling to stay above the turbulent wave. The storm that accompanied their arrival began in earnest.
Without any time to spare, he grabbed a life ring from the deck and tied a rope around it. With a mighty heave, he tossed it, towards the two of them.
"GRAB HOLD!" He screamed as the waves took them out of view. Cob feared the worst but he soon felt tension on the rope. He started to reel it in, being careful not to go too fast or too slow, not wanting them to lose their grip on the ring.
It took about 5 minutes before they were next to the ship. He carefully lifted them and lowered them to the deck. One coughing up water, and the other not moving.
Cob finally got a good look at who he had saved and was surprised to see it was two kids. Well, kids in comparison to his age. In actuality they looked to be in their late teens, he couldn't be sure though. One was a girl with long brown hair. She coughed as she tried to find her breath again, and Cob quickly went over to her; with a firm slap to her back, he saw her cough up the last of the water.
As the girl looked around and tried to take in her surroundings, she saw her friend on the deck.
"SORA!" She yelled frantically as she rushed over, and looked at him. He wasn't moving at all, so she turned to her apparent savior.
"Help me! He couldn't swim, he took in too much water!"
The older man nodded and quickly got to work. He pressed his hands down on the boy's chest and tried to bring him back from the brink.
The young woman frowned as she watched him work; it was a solid minute before Sora started to cough, letting the water finally begin to exit his lungs. Cob turned him over so gravity could help assist in the process. Sora tried to regain his breath, and it took a few minutes before he was finally able to somewhat breathe. He looked around still trying to recover from what just happened, and spotting a familiar face, he was quickly hugged by the woman.
"Sora, thank god you're okay." She said as she looked at him. He still felt a little dazed, but his mind started to clear, like a window when the morning fog is wiped away.
"Cynthia…what the hell happened?" He said as he soon felt rain upon his head. The two looked up as it started to pour. The older man rushed over to a wheel of some kind, and Sora's brain started to fill in the missing pieces. He was on a boat, a boat currently in the middle of what was turning into a horrendous storm.
"Glad you're both okay, but I need a little help!" He said as he struggled with the wheel. He took one hand off and pointed at the rope on the deck. "Grab that, and tie it down there." pointing to the rigging of the ship.
Cynthia looked at Sora, who in turn looked at him, and they were about to say something before the man interrupted them.
"NOW DAMN IT! UNLESS YOU'D RATHER SWIM BACK TO SHORE!" He bellowed, causing the two to quickly scramble and start adjusting the sail. Cynthia had grown up near the sea, so she knew how to do most of the work. Sora was a hands-on learner so he quickly picked up on what he needed to do.
For a while, it was touch and go, with waves crashing against them, as water sloshed at their feet from the combination of the downpour and the raging sea.
Eventually the three of them made it out of the worst. The two sagged their shoulders in exhausted relief, finally able to relax.
Cob approached the two. "For a couple kids, you two pulled your weight. Nice work."
They looked at each other before Sora rubbed the back of his head. "Thank you for saving us." He said as he began to introduce himself.
"I'm Sora, and this is my friend Cynthia." She bowed politely to their savior.
The older man nodded. "Cob." he said, "I'm just glad I was there to help, and in all of my years on the Grand Line, I've never witnessed something like that. The two of you just crashed into the sea from up above."
They looked at him with wide-eyed surprise and he was unsure about what he could have said that would cause such a reaction.
"What's wrong?" He asked but Sora's brain was moving at a mile a minute as he tried to process what he heard. He looked at the old man and noticed there was something he was holding in his hand.
"Hey can we see that for a second?" He asked as Cynthia caught what Sora was pointing to.
Cob looked at the paper he was holding and nodded. "Sure, I finished reading it before you both showed up." He said handing over the paper to Sora.
He took it, and with Cynthia looking over his shoulder the two saw something that all but confirmed, they had not misheard what Cob had said.
Special Edition: New Second Division Commander! Fire Fist Ace joins Whitebeard Pirates!
Cynthia looked at the document and with wide eyes, she turned to her friend who met her gaze and the two both came to the realization of what had happened to them.
They were in a world, one made with some of the most beloved characters and hated villains in all of storytelling back home.
The two were in the world of One Piece.
This is the first updated chapter, I'll be editing chapter 1 next. Be prepared for some major changes. I'm rewriting the whole thing.
