"HIYA! HA!"

Lita yelled as she struck the target in front of her, dealing out damage all the while avoiding attacks from the various weapon users that assaulted her from all directions. She ducked under a swing of a large hammer from her left and stuck her spear in the ground to provide a handhold for the uppercut kick she landed on the man's chin, sending him tumbling into three more fighters.

Moving her spear back to being held with both hands and a low stance, she gestured for her opponents to keep up their attacks.

The remaining seven obliged her request and spread out around her.

Lita observed as they prepared to strike, with the one directly behind her initiating the assault. Pivoting on her foot, she blocked the first strike before lashing out with a devastating kick to his ribcage, causing him to clutch the point of impact as he toppled over from the pain. With that one down, she quickly dodged backward and leaped over the man striking from behind. Landing a kick to the back of the man's head as she went, sending him tumbling into another of the fighters.

While they recovered the remaining four unleashed a flurry of strikes with their blades, which Lita effortlessly blocked and avoided, dodging left, and parrying another blade to the right, before countering with the butt of her spear, smashing into the man's jaw sending what little teeth he had left flying.

Crouching low, she rolled to the left to avoid an overhead axe swing, and dealt out a counter in the form of a low cut to the back of the man's leg, bringing him to a knee. She quickly lashed out with a flourish of her spear and knocked the man out with strike to the underside of his chin.

Lita smirked as she saw one fighter remaining when she heard someone coming from behind her.

Blocking a pair of overhead sword swings behind her, she saw that the two she had thrown off balance earlier were back. It was now back to bein 1, which Lita didn't really care for. Ducking low and rolling between the two fighters, she took advantage of her new position behind them to deliver two slashes, one to each of the men's backs.

Seeing his friends were downed, the last fighter picked up a second sword and prepared for a one-on-one with her.

Lita smiled and rushed at the man, who met her in a flurry of melee combat. Lita quickly realized she had underestimated her foe as he put her on the back foot rather easily.

She went for a strike with her spear, but the man blocked her attack shoving her weapons to the side, and delivered a headbutt to her face. Groaning in pain she fell backwards, and the man above her smirked.

"Looks like we finally got the best of-"

His sentence ended when Lita came to her senses and delivered a kick that would ensure an end to the man's lineage from that day forward.

Everyone watching winced, as the man crumpled to his knees clutching his crotch.

Lita got up slowly, and looked at the man.

"What are you, a fucking horse?" The man whined before he was knocked out by a sweep of Lita's leg.

She looked at the crowd of new recruits around her. "Anyone else wants to have a go?"

The crowd quickly dispersed, as Lita went over to a barrel and sat down. She panted as realized how close she was to losing that fight.

"Think it's about time you stopped going easy on 'em." A voice said to the side of her, and she looked over and saw Daryl leaning on the wall smirking.

Lita smiled, "Maybe, that last one's a real keeper. He'll go far if we can train him right." She said before watching two other guys helping him up.

"Although, maybe that last kick was a little much. I didn't hold back with that one."

She said as she grabbed a drink.

"Well now that training's over, let's get moving." The older man said as he started walking away.

Hearing this Lita was confused, but Daryl clarified before she could ask.

"The prisoner should be waking up soon. Captain wants us to check on him."

Hearing this Lita smiled and quickly rushed ahead of the man making him smirk.

"Always on the move." He said as he followed after her.

Terra moaned as he started to come back to consciousness. As he opened his eyes slowly he took in his surroundings. First of all, he saw that he was still in the clothes he had been wearing when he was prepared for his hike through the woods that day.

With his boots beside the bed, he looked around and the most alarming thing that was brought to his attention was that he was behind bars.

He quickly got up and ran to the bars, where he saw a guard of some kind resting by a door.

Calming himself down the man looked around and determined he had limited options.

The first thing to do was figure out a way out of this cell.

From what he could tell his cell was pretty barebones, with a torch light to light the place up.

He reached into his jacket pockets to see if he could find anything.

Lucky for him he found just what he was looking for. In a pocket lining just below where his armpit would be was a hidden pocket, almost invisible to the eye unless you knew where to look.

With a smirk, he pulled out a small tool and approached the door. Checking the guard he was pleased to see he was still asleep.

Slowly the man got to work on the door using the multitool he had with him.

It didn't take long for Terra to unlock the door and smirked, before grabbing his hiking boots and putting them back on. "Alright…time to find out where I am." He said as he slowly exited his cell.

Before he could exit though he heard footsteps and the door to the cells quickly slammed open.

Waking up the guard in the meantime.

Without much time to think, he quickly locked the cell again and put his tools away back into his pocket.

"Rick! Were you sleeping on the job!?" A female voice questioned loudly, as Terra stood up and looked at who was there.

A girl with lavender hair tied in a ponytail, and emerald eyes.

She was quite cute but still had the look of someone with combat experience. It was best to play this safe for now.

After she was done lecturing the guard, she turned her attention towards the cells. More specifically his cell.

Terra watched as she practically skipped over and gave him a bright cheery smile.

"Good, you're awake! I was worried you wouldn't anytime soon." She said to him with a grin.

Terra frowned. "Who are you, and what is this place?"

The girl smiled at him. "I'm Lita, close combat expert of the Red Cloud Pirates, and you sir are in our base because I found you washed up on the beach."

Terra nodded at her response and smiled. "Well if you're the one who found me and brought me here, thank you. I appreciate you helping me. My name is Terra."

Lita smiled, "Nice to meet you, Terra. Now let's get you out of there, my Captain will want to talk to you."

She said as she pulled out a key and unlocked the door.

Terra frowned. "So I take it I'm your prisoner right now?" He asked cautiously.

Lita shook her head as she finished opening the cell for him by removing the deadbolt that had been out of Terra's sight. No way he could have gotten out quietly now that he saw that.:

"Oh no, you're not a prisoner. I'd say you're more of a guest for now. We just wanted to be sure you wouldn't go anywhere before we could talk with you. We just have a few questions."

She said with a smile.

Terra frowned, that sounded like an interrogation to him, which didn't put him at ease, but nonetheless, he stepped out of the cell. Looking at the door, he saw a much more built individual talking with the guard, before he could say anything, Lita grabbed his hand.

"Come on, the boss is waiting." She said as she led him forward. Terra nodded, as Lita looked at the large man.

"Daryl, I'm gonna take him to see the captain. You okay dealing with him?"

The older man gave a laugh. "I'm fine, go on ahead." He said before turning back to the other man who had fallen asleep.

Terra overheard something about "more training" and the man groaned, as Terra went out of earshot.

As the two proceeded to make their way through the base Lita decided to strike up some conversation. "So, where are you from exactly?"

Terra looked at her and said. "I'm from the East Coast, Virginia specifically." He said as they passed by what appeared to be a weapons room.

Lita stopped for a moment confused. "Virginia? I've never heard of that island, and don't you mean the East Blue?"

All at once Terra stopped as some things were made clear to him. 'Definitely not on earth anymore…So…One Piece huh…that makes sense considering our previous conversation in the group chat.'

With new thoughts in mind, Terra was snapped out of his thoughts as Lita waved a hand in his face. "Helloooo, anyone home in there?" She asked playfully, successfully gaining his attention again.

"Sorry, um, and uh no, I meant the East Coast. My island is pretty big and it's split into fifty different territories. My territory is on the eastern coast of the island."

Lita let out a whistle. "Wow, fifty territories, that's got to be an enormous island."

Terra sighed, glad she was willing to buy his altered truth. There was no way he could just explain that he was from another world.

Lita grinned and said. "Well, after we talk with the captain maybe we can find you a way back home."

Terra nodded, "I'd really appreciate any help at all. I could probably manage on my own, but having allies is never a bad thing."

Lita smiled at that and the two continued making their way towards the captain's quarters of the base he found himself in.

One thing he realized quickly was the base was set up inside a cave of some sort, with branching pathways that led to different sections.

Finally, the two reached two wide doors, and Lita gave a knock. "Captain, our guest is finally awake." She said, as she awaited a reply, which came soon after.

"Good, come on in then." A male voice said and with the go-ahead, she slowly opened the door, and stepped through, with Terra entering soon after.

The captain's quarters weren't much to look at, many charts and maps were on a long table to the side and a young man was currently going over them. He had crimson red hair with a few strands of white mixed in going just over his left eye.

He looked tired but, he quickly gathered himself and smiled at Terra. It was a warmer welcome than he expected from the leader.

"Glad to see you're up and moving. It's a pleasure to meet you." He said as he stepped forward and offered a hand.

"My name is Sakai, Red Cloud Saika." He said with a grin.

Not one to be rude, Terra shook the offered hand returning his greeting in kind.

Sakai turned to Lita, who nodded and closed the door, leaving the three alone in the room.

Their hand shake ended and Sakai walked over to another table that was better looking.

"Have a seat please, I'd like to start with my questions now, rather than later."

The young man obliged and took a seat across from the apparent swordsmen if the blade on his waist was any indicator.

Sakai took a swig of a drink and smiled. "Would you like some? It's a vintage from the South Blue." He said as he took a bottle that had what appeared to be a Mexican word on it.

Not one to be rude, he decided to indulge as Sakai poured him a glass of the beverage.

Terra took a sip of the drink and was surprised. "Damn that's good, is that grape?"

The other man nodded. "It's my favorite, but I hear they also sell other flavors." He said taking a swig from his own drink.

Lita came over and sat down on the left side of the table.

After a few moments, Sakai put his drink down and looked at Sakai.

"So my first question for you. What should I call you?"

The man smiled and said. "Terra, just Terra."

Sakai smiled, "Well Terra, I'll say this, Lita and the rest of our group were quite surprised when you showed up out of nowhere."

Lita took the chance to talk this time. "I found you washed up on the western beach. You were perfectly dry though, and you didn't appear to be injured in any way, but I couldn't get you to wake up."

Terra nodded following along, so whatever dropped him here had the decency to not drop him in the middle of the ocean, which was potentially a good sign. It was his turn to ask a question.

"Was I alone? Did you see anyone else? Another young man about my age, and woman around the same?"

Sakai and Lita looked at each other, before turning back to him.

Lita shook her head. "No, I didn't see anyone else there, it was just you." She said voicing the words that Terra didn't want to hear.

'Great stuck in One Piece and we're separated from the start.
'This can't be good. I don't know as much about the world but what I do know should help me.'

Sakai snapped him out of his thoughts. "I'm sorry we couldn't find your comrades, but we did find something else on you. Hopefully, it should help shed some light on things."

Terra was confused as he watched the young man reach into a pocket, before placing something on the table and sliding it over.

Terra grabbed the item, stopping it from sliding off, and looked at it. Which is when the surprise hit his face. It was a smartphone!

In fact, it looked like his smartphone!

Quickly and without thinking, the young man turned it on and entered his pin.

Sakai and Lita watched as the young man in front of them managed to use the strange device. He searched through his photos to make sure that it was in fact his phone. Sure enough, it definitely was.

"My phone… but how…" he said quietly but not enough, as both Lita and Sakai heard.

"So it's a phone, not a camera?" Sakai asked, causing Terra to curse as he heard the question.

'What are you thinking?! I can't just introduce smartphones to this world.'

Terra sighed as he realized there wouldn't be any point in hiding it.

"You're right, it's both a phone and a camera though…among other things."

Lita smiled as she looked at Sakai expectantly. "Pay up captain."

Terra watched as the captain reached into his pocket and pulled out what appeared to be a wad of bills and quickly slapped them into Lita's open hand.

Blinking Terra said, "What's that about."

Lita just grinned. "Don't worry about it, just a little bet we had. I bet that the thing was more than just a camera and mister doubtful here, bet the opposite."

Sakai grumbled. "I didn't think it could do more than that."

Terra laughed a little at that, before saying. "Well you're smart Lita, the thing I have in my hand could change the world if it got into certain hands. Which is why I'll be keeping a hold of it." He said.

Sakai frowned as he heard this. "It's really something that important?" He asked to which Terra just nodded.

"I'm confident that it could outdo Transponder snails by a fair margin. Imagine if the world government got a hold of this."

That was enough to sell Sakai his point, as he nodded. "Fair enough, keep a hold of it, and don't let anyone else see you with it. This secret stays with myself and my officers."

Terra nodded and said. "Thank you for understanding."

Sakai smiled and said. "Now then, that begs the question…where exactly did you find something so advanced?"

Terra cursed as he heard this, and decided to tell the same story about his "island" to Sakai.

After the brief explanation, Sakai frowned and went over to some of the maps on the other table.

This was not a good sign to Terra and he was ready for the worst.

"That's a great story…but Terra…there is no island like that on any of these seas…Certainly not in the East Blue, or in Paradise…Could be in the New World, but I doubt it." He said as he looked up from his papers, and walked back over to him. "So that begs the question.."

He said and spoke the next words with a dangerous tone to his voice. "Where exactly are you from?"

The exchange happened in moments. Terra quickly bolted for the door, but Lita was fast, quickly taking Terra and attempting to put his arm in a hold, but more limber than he looked, and he was able to slip out of her grip and reverse the situation.

He grabbed her arm put it behind her back and with one quick movement he quickly pulled out his own weapon, his multitool with a switchblade attachment now out and ready to strike. Unfortunately, he didn't get far as right before the weapon could pierce her flesh, Sakai chose that moment to move in between the two.

"Calm. Down." he said in a commanding tone, one that Terra hadn't heard since his days in basic.

Lita for her part was amazed that Terra had almost dealt her a blow that easily. Even if she wasn't serious, that shouldn't have been possible.

Sakai blocked the knife in Terra's hand with just a small portion of his blade unsheathed, and without breaking a sweat, he forced Terra back.

Before Terra could stand up, a blade was at his throat.

"I said calm down. I'm not a fan of people who lie, but if you explain yourself, I can look the other way."

Terra frowned and lowered his weapon, and quickly closed it, before putting it back in his pocket.

Sakai nodded and also sheathed his sword, before turning to Lita. "You okay?"

Lita nodded still a little shocked by how fast Terra had moved. "I'm fine, just a little thrown off is all."

Sakai nodded and turned to Terra. "For starters, you must have your reasons for lying, and I can understand that to an extent." He said as he walked back over and sat down in his chair hard.

"That said, I need you to be transparent with me. We have our own secrets as well, and knowing that you aren't an enemy does help, but we need to be sure."

Terra frowned before standing up and walking back over to his own chair. He looked at his drink and took a large swig.

"Alright you want the truth, the honest truth?"

He asked with a tone that said there was no room for doubts.

Sakai nodded as Lita walked back over and sat down in her own chair, taking a drink herself.

Terra sighed and said. "For starters, I'm not from here." He said as he pulled out the smartphone. Looking at the reception he was surprised by the sideways 8 next to his signal strength

He smirked. 'Perks of being thrown into a new world I guess.'

With the internet issue sorted out, he looked up One Piece hoping to sort this out quickly. Strangely enough, nothing came up.

He frowned. "Well of course it won't be that easy." He cursed to himself, confusing Sakai and Lita.

He then turned to them. "Alright, I'm gonna wing this. Have either of you heard of Multiverse theory?"

Lita blinked as she heard this. "You mean the theory where there are different realities for every possibility in life?"

Terra nodded "Close enough. I'll just be as blunt as possible. I'm not from here, and by here, I mean this world."

He said as he went back to his phone and pulled up his maps. "I'm from this world. The planet Earth, home to roughly 8 billion people. All humans. We don't have Fishmen, we don't have Minks, we don't have Long Arms or Giants, just normal everyday people."

He said as he started pulling up pictures of different people from different countries.

Lita and Sakai took this in as they saw the many photos of different individuals.

Terra continued. "Our world is more connected than this one thanks to our technology, we could go to the moon, fly through the air, and sail the seas without wind, or even the sails themselves."

Lita took in all this and was amazed by what she was hearing.

Sakai frowned as he heard this. "So what does this have to do with you getting to our world if you're from that one?" He asked, and Terra was happy he was able to grasp what he was talking about.

"I was just getting to that. You see, thanks to our technology we also created something called, the internet, a public data space that could be used by anyone with a connection to it. This leads me to the point where two of my friends were chatting with me and at some point during our conversation, we were thrown into this world."

Lita frowned as she realized something. "Wait, but if you aren't from here, how did you know about Long Arms, Giants and Minks?"

Terra smiled. "That's because I know a lot about this world from a comic book series back home. The tale of One Piece."

Sakai and Lita grasped what that meant. "Wait so our world is a story from your own world? As in fictional?"

Terra nodded and said. "It is, at least there, but somehow we caught the attention of someone, and me and my two friends were sent here. Something about trying to fix things…I don't really get that part."

Sakai frowned as he heard all this. "So…that explains why you panicked… If word of this got out, it would shake the very core of our lives I think."

Terra nodded, "Especially if those government fucks found out. Imagine their shock if they learned there was another world out there that called them fiction. They would probably do everything to find a way to that world and prove how real they are…in all the worst ways."

Sakai looked at Terra. "You don't really think that's possible, do you? I mean even Vegapunk would have a hard time-"

Terra stopped him there. "No, Vegapunk would probably be able to do it. If he got a hold of this."

He said holding up the phone.

The swordsman suddenly realized what he meant. "Access to a public information hub with a plethora of information to browse through…yeah, that could change things."

Terra nodded. "My thoughts exactly, so please keep this a secret. Nobody can know."

Sakai thought about it for a moment, before nodding. "Alright, we'll trust you." He then turned to Lita and said. "Give them back to him." He said with a look that brooked no argument.

The young woman sighed. "And I was so close to figuring out how to get into one of these." She said before reaching into a pocket and placing two more smartphones on the table.

Terra looked at these and frowned. He recognized them from somewhere.

Sakai saw his expression. "What's wrong?"

The young man shook his head. "Just they look familiar. I think they belong to my friends who are missing."

Lita spoke up. "Well I found them on your body, but maybe you were supposed to hand them out."

Terra nodded. "Probably, but that's changed cause we've been split up."

Still at least having them, meant he could protect them.

Sakai looked at him. "Well now that we've got that out of the way. How exactly did you manage to outspeed one of my officers, if even for a moment."

Terra looked at Lita who seemed to be staring at him with just as much curiosity. "Oh, that? I've been in more combat than I look like for my age. I was a soldier back home. Our training standards, although I don't know how they live up to the standards here, were hellish."

Sakai frowned.

"Were those soldiers anything like the Marines?"

At that question, Terra looked at him. "Absolutely not, there were times that our military I'm sure had to make difficult choices, but we were nowhere near as extreme as the World Government ."

Sakai smiled. "Good to hear."

With all that said and done, Lita looked at Sakai. "Captain, we still need to talk to him about 'That'."

Sakai nodded, "Right."

Terra looked at him confused but decided to listen.

Sakai smiled at him. "To be perfectly blunt and to get straight to the point. Terra."

He said before folding his hands in front of him. "I'd like to recruit you."

Terra looked at him like he had grown a third head, and was about to object, but a raised hand from Sakai stopped him short.

"I know, I know, you probably want to look for your friends, but let me ask you, do you have any clues on where to start? Paradise is a big place, they could be anywhere." He said seriously.

Terra stopped as he thought about the implications there. It was true. Paradise was huge. Much bigger than the show demonstrated, as the Straw Hat's path was just one of many.

"What I propose is this," Sakai spoke getting his attention again. "You help us, and we'll use our resources to help you find who you're looking for."

Terra looked at him, unsure if he was okay with this. "And what exactly do you need help with?"

Sakai frowned and got up again, going back over to his desk, and Terra saw him reach for what appeared to be a photograph. He couldn't see who was on it, but Sakai turned to him.

"I'm looking for someone. Someone who's been missing for a decade now. I haven't found a trace of them, in all that time."

Terra was shocked for a minute because he realized just how long the Captain had been on the seas. He must have only been a child when he was first at sea.

The young man was snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was Lita, but she looked different. It was a pleading look, one that tugged at his heart.

"Please." Is all she said, and Terra in that moment looked back at Sakai who had bowed his head.

"Please Terra, with your device we might find some clue about her."

Terra thought for a moment, and he came to a quick conclusion. He had no idea where his friends were, but here he was surrounded by people who were willing to help him in his task of finding his friends.

Plus it would be a good way to brush up on his skills. With all that out of the way, Terra stepped forward towards Sakai and nodded.

"Alright, I'll help however I can, assuming that you can help me with my own task."

Sakai smiled and shook his hand. "Thank you so much, Terra, I promise as the Captain of the Red Cloud Pirates, I'll do everything in my power to help you find your allies."

Terra nodded, as he turned to Lita. "Do you have a place I can stay while I'm here? I'd rather not stay in a cell."

The young woman smiled and said to him. "Right this way sir, I'll show you to your quarters."

Terra laughed and turned to Sakai. "Thank you again for everything."

Sakai nodded, "No problem, I look forward to working with you." He said with a smile.

With that, Terra left the room, with some questions answered, but more opened up right before them.

Why were they sent here, why were they separated, and where were his friends now?

He supposed he would have to wait to find out.

And that's a wrap. Shorter chapter this time, because I didn't want to ignore Terra.

Terra has found his own place to stay and train while looking for his friends.

I wanted Terra to be the intelligent one but with some combat and stealth training.

The stealth aspect will be seen in a later mission.

For now, though, that's all we will be seeing of Terra for a little while. Next chapter we return to Banaro Island with Sora and Cynthia. Don't worry, things will be picking up soon. I have plans for the next few chapters, but I hope you are enjoying this new take on the story. A friend told me "It's your story, so take your time." and that's just what I'm doing.

Aside from the health problems I've been going through, (And being distracted by playing Marvel Rivals) I'm doing my best to keep moving forward. I don't want to stop, but I also don't want to burn myself out. It's a balance.

Anyways, I've rambled on enough.

Please remember to Favorite and Follow the story and leave a review if you'd like. It really helps a lot.

Until Next Time!
