Sasuke slowly opened his eyes to find Rina brushing her long, manicured fingers in his hair. He squinted at the sunlight and rubbed his eyes, alerting his teachers that he had woken. Rina carefully supported him with a hand on his back as she ushered him to sit up. Rina asked him softly how he felt, and Sasuke mumbled that he was fine. To prove it, Sasuke turned his body to sit cross-legged with them and noticed Kakashi with empty plates.

Why didn't I wake up sooner?

"Do you want to head back to where Hinata is and eat with them?" Rina asks, gesturing to Naruto's space, where he sits with Ino and Hinata. Sasuke turns to look and sees all of them talking enthusiastically on their separate picnic blanket some distance away from their seating error. Sasuke watches as Ino feeds some food to Hinata with a spoon. Hinata turns to look at Naruto after she chews and swallows, to say something which must have been a compliment because Naruto was bashfully smiling.

Sasuke sighs and stands up slowly; Rina reminds him to tell her if he isn't feeling well. Sasuke waves in acknowledgement, looking back at her slightly to let her know he was paying attention. Kakashi smirked under his mask at Rina's mothering nature before leaning over to whisper in her ear that he loved her, causing Rina to giggle.

"Sasuke! How are you feeling?"

Of course, Naruto was the first to notice his approaching presence. Naruto assured him to sit down quickly. Hinata passed him some plates of food she had already made for him, and Ino took out the thermos to pour him a drink. Sasuke took both gratefully as Naruto asked him again how he was feeling. Sasuke admitted in a somewhat lazy drawl that he was fine and appreciated that he had woken up before the picnic was over.

Hinata leaned over and pecked his cheek, and Sasuke stopped lifting his forkful of food to his mouth, stunned. Hinata shrugged nonchalantly before giving him a laidback grin, saying she felt like it. Sasuke blushed slightly and continued eating, looking at Hinata carefully, but she only smiled at his flushed expression.

Sasuke was shocked to find out Kakashi had brought games for all of them to play. Sasuke had wondered what was in Kakashi's bag but assumed it was more food or maybe drinks.

The first was a tug-of-war. Naturally, it was boys vs. girls. Kakashi had brought anti-slip powder, and the NaruIno couple competed for it. Sasuke followed their lead, and Hinata wished him good luck. Sasuke thanked her and wished her the same; they lined up with the others on the grassy side of the forest: kunoichi on one side and shinobi on the other.

"Listen up!" Kakashi calls, getting everyone's attention. "You should all know the rules from your time at the Academy: the first team to pull the first person on the rope over the centre line wins the match, and you know what's at stake!"

Sasuke stood with Hinata at the centre while Naruto held the rope in the middle on their ends with the senseis at the back because, expectedly, they were the strongest on their respective teams. Rina blew her whistle to signal the start. Sasuke took a giant step back as the campers dug in from each side, pulling fiercely against one another. The shinobi yanked the handkerchief back to the centre almost immediately.

They were making steady progress towards their side, but Ino shouted a heave-ho, encouraging herself and her fellow kunoichi not to give up. That sent the shinobi stumbling forward a couple of steps, and they whooped excitedly with triumph, but it was short-lived. The boys leaned back in the most cohesive effort Hinata had seen them make all session, and they managed to yank the handkerchief well back into their territory. Their anchor, Naruto, pulled viciously at the rope, and his teammates yelled in one voice as they hauled back and managed to drag Hinata on the rope past the centre.

Surprised by the sudden expression of force, Hinata stumbles, but Sasuke quickly steps forward, catching his fiancee with one arm. Hinata's fruity scent fills his nostrils. She thanks him and lifts her head to see the rare, slightest of smiles on his face as they make eye contact. Elated, she rubs her nose against him, which catches him off guard, and his face reddens in embarrassment.

Rina's whistle blew, and Naruto turned Kakashi to high-five first before approaching the same with their opponents. Ino was a little miffed that the girls lost, but seeing Naruto without his shirt, she knew Naruto's muscles played a big part in the tug-of-war.

Rina clapped her hands to announce it was time to play Twister and Limbo. Naruto and the girls were excited, Ino boasting that the kunoichi would win the next one. Meanwhile, Sasuke blanched, wondering what was happening with all the kiddy games. Kakashi notices Sasuke's expression and ruffles his hair to gather his attention. He explains in a quiet voice that Kakashi played games like these when he had picnic outings with his genin team and sensei. When she heard about it, Rina had insisted we do them today. Sasuke raises his eyebrow curiously; he knew from his research of Kakashi that his genin sensei was the Yondaime. Sasuke wondered how the Yondaime had time for such things; he pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind when his fiancee asked him if he was willing to team up as a couple instead for the second round so it would be more fun.

Sasuke couldn't help but smile at Hinata's hopeful expression and kiss her forehead, telling her whatever she wanted. Hinata bites her lip, a cheeky expression coming across her face as she stands on her toes to whisper in Sasuke's ear.

"If we win, I want you to kiss me with your tongue."

Naruto and Kakashi sputtered in unison; their impeccable hearing had allowed them to hear what Hinata had said, and they turned to see Sasuke covering his mouth in embarrassment, surprised by his partner's boldness.

Ino bites the inside of her cheek; she could tell from their body language that Hinata had intrigued her fiancee enough to catch onto the men's ears. Ino, as usual - not being the shy one, pulled Naruto by the arm and whispered in his ear with her hands cupping his ear so that Kakashi couldn't pick. "I want to go home with a hickey from you."

Naruto swallows hard, his eyes widening in utter shock. "A-are you sure?"

"Absolutely", confirms Ino with a determined nod.

Kakashi noticed his other student looking embarrassed and sneaked a look at his girlfriend, who was proudly observing the playful behaviour of the latest generation of honeypot hopefuls. This picnic was going to be a lot more fun than she expected. However, Rina would make it challenging for the girls to get what they wanted.

Sasuke glances apprehensively at the multi-coloured dotted mat on the floor set up by Naruto and Kakashi for the Twister game next. Naruto turns his attention to the mat and says, "It'll be awesome! Rina, Karin and I play this all the time at home!"

"Don't forget this", says Rina, handing over the multi-coloured spinner.

"Looks pretty plain to me," Ino said, jumping over to take the spinner from Naruto to examine it.

"Just give it a chance; it's pretty fun," Naruto assures them, tossing the instructions to Sasuke. After Sasuke finishes reading the instructions, he passes them to Ino and shrugs, "Seems simple enough." Sighing, he kicks off his shoes and steps forward, claiming two central red circles.

Ino laughs, "Sasuke, didn't the instructions say you need to select someone to referee the spinner so you know which colour circles to step on?"

Sasuke rolls his eyes, "I'm just readying myself, is all."

Hinata read through the instructions and then pensively looked down at the floormat. Math was one of her strong suits, and the number of different positions this game could put your body in was mind-boggling. This game might be trickier than they thought. After studying the mat for a little longer, she stepped onto the mat, close to yellow and blue circles. "I think this is gonna be harder than you think," she said, tossing the instructions back to Naruto.

Naruto puffed out his chest and proudly boasted, "Whatever it is, we'll be able to handle it, Hinata-chan."

Hinata smiles good-naturedly at his antics. "If you say so, " Naruto nods in response. He then steps onto the mat, close to the two green circles opposite Sasuke, but Rina holds her arm up, stopping him.

"Sorry, Naruto. Since you and I are experts on this game, it wouldn't be fair if we participated. So I thought you would be the spinner referee, and I would occasionally go around to ensure no one is cheating."

Ino's eyes widened, "B-but if Naruto doesn't play-!"

Rina grins mischievously. "Yes, Ino, you would have to work for your fun, and Sasuke would have to work for his fun."

Sasuke's eye twitched, "Work for our fun? What do you mean?"

Hinata blushed, explaining quietly to Sasuke that Ino had also challenged Naruto to some alone time, similar to Hinata's challenge to Sasuke. Sasuke groaned, feeling a migraine coming on. "I thought you two weren't going to interfere."

Kakashi scoffs, "We're chaperones; we are just making sure this date doesn't see too much debauchery."

Naruto laughs nervously. "Well, it's okay either way. We're all dating—stuff like this comes naturally."

Ino pouted, "Says the guy who put his shirt on me..."

"Yes, because you're too beautiful in that outfit. You can keep that shirt, by the way - you could even wear it at home. We all know I have plenty of orange in my closet."

Ino blushed happily at the praise, and Kakashi had to admit as he watched the two that Naruto did take after his parents: Kushina's casual slip of compliments and Minato's smooth-talking gentlemanliness.

"Sasuke-kun, you need to win." Everyone turned to look at Hinata, who was casting a steely look at her fiance.

"But Naruto just said-"

"I want what I want."

Kakashi's eyes widened, "Damn Hinata-hime, you are growing into your own with all the tutelage you're getting."

Hinata smiles innocently, thanking Kakashi, while Sasuke looks on confused. Rina watches all this, smirking contentedly, sounding her whistle: "Alright! Enough yapping; let's get this Twister game started!"
