He was falling. Up or down, he couldn't tell. Shadows whispered sounds he couldn't make out from the corner of his eyes, shrinking away into the darkness spiralling around him whenever he looked directly at them. The voices began to get louder...

He heard knuckles voice, but at the same time it wasn't. It sounded warped and twisted.

"Face it Tails, sonic is DEAD!"

With every sound and murmer, he fell faster, closer, towards the end of the fall. He wanted to scream, to shout for help but his body was slowly going numb with the mindless adrenaline, all of his instincts screaming at him. Blackness was slowly creeping into the corners of his vision, he twisted in mid air, kicked, but it was hopeless.

Eyes snapping open, Tails woke up covered in a cold sweat, shaking, heart pounding. Slowly he lifted up his head.

He was in his room. He was safe. For now.

He let his head fall back onto the pillow as he laid in bed for a minute longer, feeling his heart beat begin to slow.

He quietly slid out of bed and sat up. He was going mad. He had to take his mind of his brother.

But... How could he? Every second that ticked by, Sonic could be in more danger. Sonic neededhim. No time for breaks. He felt his blood turn cold when he remembered, .Kay- you- a.

Someone had put a place in the note. What to do know?

Tails hoped off the bed and found his bag under his bed. Shouldering it, he hurried down the stairs.

Maddie was downstairs in the kitchen, icing a cake. She saw him as he put his hand on the door nob.

"Tails!"

Tails closed his eyes. Please knuckles, please, if you told Maddie I'm going to kill you.

Maddie walked over and handed him a five pound note. "Can you buy me some flour? I ran out. It doesn't matter which store."

Tails nodded and forced a smile on his face. "Yeah sure!" He turned the door nob, feeling every fibre in his being shaking, but he ignored it.

A bell rang above his head as he pushed the door open. The shop was filled with bustling with people.

Tails took a deep breath and walked down and isle filled with things like baking powder, icing packets with different flavours and bags of suger. His baby blue eyes scanned the rowes of items untill they finally rested on flour. Gingerly, he reached up on his tiptoes and grasped the bag, pulling it off the shelf. He read the label,

Perfect. He balanced the large bag in his arms and walked into a line of 3 people. He waited untill his turn before stepping up to the counter. The girl behind it wore a forest green top with a badge that read 'molly' on it. Shiny earings that dangled from her earloads and a bright smile. When she saw the kitsune she gasped. "Wait, are you Tails?!"

Instead he smiled and nodded, sliding the bag and money across the smooth surface. The girl quickly took it and scanned it.

"So..." Tails began, hoping his voice didn't sound to excited or forced. "How often do you work here?"

Molly, oblivious to what Tails was doing, happily laughed, excited to be talking to someone famous. "Well, I usually work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Tails's ears perked up. Wednesday, the day Sonic disappeared and never came back. He quickly tried to hide his reaction. "Have you seen Sonic in here in any of those days?"

Of course she knew who Sonic was. Everyone did. Her smile slightly dropped, obviously knowing what happened to him. She nodded. He was in here one Monday, wanted to talk to stupid Phoebe Mason." She said bitterly. When she saw Tails look at her curiosity she continued. "You'll understand if you meet her. Anyway, good chatting to you! See you around,"

Tails nodded quickly taking the hint and walked away feeling slightly dizzy with the new information.
