Hello! And welcome to Day 2 part 2! Unfortunately, this is my last update until after the New Year. Also, my life has gotten busy so I will update less than I'd like. Anyway, I hope you like the chapter!
On the ship...
Ahsoka was in the co-pilot seat while Anakin was in the cot in the back, having a nap after the last few days... probably getting ready to have a certain nightmare. She sighed inwardly, "Guess it's time to face the music." Ahsoka thought, dreading the next part of this, surprised at how quiet the daughter has been. "Wait, Ahsoka. Before you go back there I want you to know I'll not be able to talk to you during this part." The daughter warned her. The thought of not talking to the daughter gave a chill up Ahsoka's spine. "Why?" Ahsoka asked, a little scared. The Son scared her... The only other person that frightened her to that level was the Emperor. "My brother will be able to sense my essence within you so, I will be dormant so to speak until it is safe again." The daughter explained to her, worried about how she'd take it.
Ahsoka sighed, not liking this "OK, but I'll be a little lost without your guidance." She told the daughter, a little disheartened. Ahsoka was worried about how she would act without the daughter's advice... she had gotten used to having the deity to talk to in the short time she's been talking to her. "Don't worry, young one. Everything will be alright. I promise." The daughter reassured the young Jedi, her voice in a gentle tone.
Ahsoka smiled faintly, "I'll try not to." She assured her, hopefully. Ahsoka decided to calm herself for a minute before utter sith hell broke loose. After a minute, she opened her eyes and came back to reality. Ahsoka got out of her seat and walked to the back of the ship just to take a breath... a few seconds later, she turned around and started to shake Anakin awake after a few seconds he woke up and sits up breathing somewhat heavily "Are you OK? It looks like you were having a nightmare." Ahsoka asked him concerned. Anakin nodded "Yeah, I think so, and something like that." He said, not wanting to talk about it, standing up when the ship rocks a bit.
At the pilot's seat Obi-Wan turned his head "If you're done napping, I could use some help." He said somewhat sarcastically. Anakin sighed "I'm coming." Anakin said wanting to just get out of this place. He then heard Ahsoka groan behind him. Anakin turned to see the Son holding Ahsoka by the throat "Leaving so soon?" The Son crooned at Anakin as he shut the door. The son brought the hand that held Ahsoka closer to his face; making Ahsoka's face a few inches away from his "Not without this you won't." He growled as he opened the ramp opening and both he and Ahsoka dropped into the air. "Ahsoka!" Anakin screamed as he saw them fly off since the Son transformed into a griffin.
With Ahsoka, somewhere on Mortis...
Ahsoka struggled against Son's grip on her arm as he brought her to the wall where she was shackled "You won't get away with this!" Ahsoka snarled, baring her fangs at the Son as he finished shackling her. The son backed away before she could bite him and laughed "Oh, I think I already have." He said certainly, backing away, turning around, and leaving the room.
Time felt like it was going by slowly for Ahsoka as she tried to get out of the chains she was in until she saw a gray creature appear in her cell "What are you doing here?" Ahsoka said interestingly, glaring at the creature. "I'm here to help." The creature said eerily calm. Ahsoka struggled, trying her hardest to get free "Save your energy. You've been left to die." The creature said in a certain nonchalant tone. Ahsoka's head turned from the side to face the creature eye to eye. Ahsoka sighed, a little tired "I will escape!" Ahsoka insisted, knowing she was going to just not in the way she wanted.
"Impossible. I have been here for more years than I care to remember." The creature said, sounding deranged as a prisoner of an asylum for years. Ahsoka felt a shiver go up her spine. This creature was creepy before he was downright frightening. Ahsoka straightens up the best she can while imprisoned "I am a Jedi. We don't give up easily." She stated proudly as she could without chafing her wrists with the cuffs.
"Ah... Jedi. Huh, but so young. Where is your master?" The creature asked curiously, climbing up the slab of metal that Ahsoka was shackled to. She glared steely at him "He will come for me." Ahsoka said knowingly, her voice hard with a glimmer of hope. The creature stopped climbing. "And if he does not?" He asked point blank, leaning into far and getting into her face. Ahsoka leans her head forward as much as she can, and the creature turned his head slightly "He will!" She insists faithfully with a hard voice.
The creature leaned in to get into her face again"What makes you so sure?" He questioned her prodding for a certain answer, making Ahsoka press against the slab of metal again with a frightened look on her face. A sound of unscrewing a screw was made as the creature released Ahsoka's hands and feet "Ah. Thank you." She said thankfully turning to where he was but he wasn't there she turned her head back "The chains are the easy part. It's on up here that's hard." The creature pointed out knowingly, gesturing to the top of his head. The creature walks toward the slab of metal but stops "Don't you see child... You are alone now. If you are to survive; You must forget your master." He declared knowingly, turning and circling to her side, grabbing her hand, and taking a step to her side.
Ahsoka moaned a little "I don't think I..." She started to say, putting her hand on her head but the creature grabbed her arm and bit her wrist "Ahh... What have you done?!" Ahsoka exclaimed aghast, holding her wrist in pain. "You are mine now." The creature declared menacingly, his voice getting deeper with each word. Ahsoka drops to her knees and gasps before her eyes go into the back of her head while collapsing to the ground.
Even though she was technically asleep, Ahsoka could feel the darkness seep into her veins and throughout her body. She knew her soul would be in a cage of sorts when the darkness was in control, so she'll fight until she wins. Her last coherent thought was a mix of the daughter's and Luke's voices telling her to fight until she wins.
With Anakin and Obi-wan...
After piloting the ship back to the ground as fast as he could, Anakin walked down the ramp and turned back to face Obi-wan "I'm going to go after her." Anakin said, about to run but stopped by Obi-wan, who grabbed his arm. Sighing exasperated "Anakin, think rationally for a moment. I think we should consult with the father." Obi-wan said, his voice calm, But inside he was scared. Anakin shook his arm out of Obi-wan's grip "No, Master because if we do, Ahsoka might be... dead by then." He said, stubbornly but faltered by the possibility of that option of her fate. Anakin didn't wait for Obi-wan's response as he just took off.
A little after dark, Obi-Wan just shook his head, crossed his arms over his chest, and sighed frustratingly pacing around "Always on the move. Now how am I going to find the father?" Obi-Wan mused, expecting Anakin to run off and wondering how he would speak to the father to make a plan to stop all of this. A bright light glowed behind him, he turned around and gazed above him at the altar of Mortis. Obi-wan groaned exhaustively, "At least I know where to start." He said a little grouchy as he walked toward the edge and started to climb.
On top of the cliff...
Obi-wan grunted as he climbed onto the platform "Oh thank the force!" He said, a little exhausted from climbing. After getting up and dusting himself off, he walks a few feet and looks up when he hears "I HATE YOU!" He saw the Son shoot Sith lightning at the Father and saw his body tumble until he was in front of Obi-wan. Obi-wan looked down at the unconscious body in horror, Then the Son turned into his griffin form and took off. The daughter gasped "Father!" She shouted frightened as she hastened down the stairs to her father's side.
After getting the father back into the chamber, Both Obi-Wan and Daughter kneel while the Daughter used her power to put her father into a healing trance. Waving her hands over her Father's body, she inwardly sighed in relief and put her hand on her father's clasped hands as she finished her trance "We will leave him to rest." The daughter said, knowingly. Obi-wan's eyes shone desperately "But I must speak with him!" Obi-Wan said, very insistent. Turning her head to look at the Jedi master "Not until he's stronger." She said, leaving no room for an argument. "But your brother is losing himself to the dark side. He has taken our friend." Obi-wan said knowingly, his hand gesturing towards the outside.
The daughter narrows her eyes "Then he must have his reasons." She said knowingly, not even considering another possibility. "Same reason for attempting to murder your father?" Obi-wan said dubiously and sarcastically. The daughter shook her head slightly. "He would never do such a thing." She said, denying that he would ever do that. Obi-wan's eyes plead with her to believe him "I saw him." Obi-wan said, not backing down. She sighed inwardly "It is not his fault. My nature is to do what is selfless, but my brothers are to do what is selfish." The daughter said, wanting and hoping the visitor to understand how her brother is. "You must help us, please," Obi-wan pleaded leaning forward almost over her father's body.
The daughter closed her eyes and shook her head a little "I cannot interfere with the ways of the force." The daughter said despairingly. She stands up, and walks a little towards the door "My father forbids it." The daughter said helplessly, wanting to but seeing no other way to his head in her direction "Your brother will flee this place, and wreak havoc on the universe. You and Anakin combined have the power to stop him." Obi-wan insisted exasperatedly knowing that's what he wanted to do.
The daughter stopped walking. "Follow me." She asked turning her head to face Obi-Wan's before she started walking again. Obi-wan got up and started to walk behind her, After following her out of the Altar and into the caves of Mortis... they stopped only a few feet in as there was a cliff. Looking down, Obi-wan saw several pillars of rocks and a triangle platform surrounded by what looked like green fire. After walking down a flight of stairs, they stopped, seeing that on the platform there was a placeholder for a mysterious object.
"I can go no further. When you reach the altar, it will give you what you need." The daughter said, finality in her tone and a worried frown on her face. Obi-wan shook his head a little and turned his head, confusion on his face "I-I don't understand." Obi-Wan said, a lace of misunderstanding in his voice. Looking over at him with sadness on her face "He, who wields the blade, controls my brother." The daughter revealed she looked sideways and raised an eyebrow at him, her voice laced with seriousness. Obi-Wan jumped to the stalagmite and waited until it lowered to the altar. While there were green flames around the altar... in the middle there was a weird handle, Obi-Wan grabbed it, and as he pulled the handle towards him a blade appeared out of the swirling green smoke. He looked at the daughter with sympathy, as Obi-Wan knew she had no choice but to help for the sake of the galaxy.
Meanwhile with Ahsoka on the platform of the altar...
Ahsoka knew that her evil self was waiting for Anakin to show up, in reality, Ahsoka's soul couldn't do much at all but what she really needed was the right time to fight. She felt Anakin closing in. Eyes are closed, Ahsoka knew but she tried to regain control. Anakin was just a few feet away "Snips, there you are. We need to leave this place." Anakin said quickly, looking around feeling more creeped out by the second.
Ahsoka's head lifted and opened her eyes, which were ghastly yellow "Are you proud of me, Master?" She asked, her voice sounding different and it had a little echo to it. Anakin stared at her a little strangely "What? Ahsoka, of course, I'm proud of you." Anakin told her confused, not even hearing the thunder, wondering why she was asking. Ahsoka lifted her head and turned it to the left but did not turn around to face Anakin "He's right. Right about everything." She said darkly and firmly, turning to face him.
"You must join him. He only wants what's best for the universe." Ashoka continued knowingly yet somewhat childishly, tilting her head slightly. Anakin noticed that in the light she had dark lines on her face and Lekku but her eyes were yellow, Sith yellow. Anakin squinted, also noticing something was very wrong. "What's wrong with you?" He asked wearily, feeling very weird. Dark Ahsoka rolled her eyes "Always with the criticism, Master. Never really believing in me, trusting me. Well, I don't need you anymore" She said walking left a little, complaining and condescending then turning away. Anakin had seen enough "Ahsoka, listen to me. He has done something to you! Snap out of it!" He pleaded with a hint of a desperate undertone in his voice. "I'm trying Master, but the hold is tight on my soul." Ahsoka's trapped soul thought knowingly, hoping Anakin could hear her. Ahsoka's face turned stoic "Isn't it? I've never felt more alive. "Ahsoka exclaimed gleefully as she smiled and rubbed her hands down her face. Her face became stoic once more " He told me to give you a message... He said to join him or he'll kill me." She said, gleefully but crazily at the same time.
Anakin's eyes became sharper at that statement "I won't let him." Dark Ahsoka turns to face Anakin and glowers at him "Then you'll be forced to kill me!" She declared with rage and darkness in her tone, pointing her right index finger at him. Ahsoka ignited her main lightsaber, jumped off the ledge, and started to parry her lightsaber at him. Anakin was shocked at what Ahsoka was saying for a moment before he ignited his and started to defend himself.
Inside Ahsoka's trapped soul...
Ahsoka was watching from inside a cage, she could move in the cage but couldn't get out. She growled frustratingly at how trapped she was. Looking into her eyes, she saw herself fighting against Anakin but she knew Obi-Wan was going to appear soon and it would be weird because this wasn't a practice duel, it was a real one, and that made Ahsoka nervous. As she tries to break the seal on the lock, she feels darkness spread through her soul making her more susceptible to the control the son has on her.
She and Anakin were deadlocked with their lightsabers when he smirked: "Getting cocky aren't you, Snips." He taunted her. Darkness surrounded the cage Ahsoka was in as she felt rage flare "Don't CALL ME THAT! I HATE when you call me that!" She heard herself say. Hearing her say that made Ahsoka want to cry because that nickname, which at the beginning annoyed her, to no end became a name for a sister or a dear friend. Her anger was flaring, she needed to try and reach Anakin before more damage was done "Anakin, I'm still here! I'm just lost in the dark..." She said, trying as hard as she could but faltered at the end because she realized she was Lost in the dark. She had been since she discovered he was alive.
Ahsoka pushed away her thoughts, at least for now. Anakin used his lightsaber to flip hers out of her hand and into the air. Her evil self ran up the hill, grabbed the lightsaber, turned around, and ignited her shoto.
Her body turned around and noticed Obi-wan with his lightsaber. "Another Jedi... Finally! A challenge, " she said with a hint of maliciousness. Rage and a thirst for power coursed through her veins, which, in her state, didn't surprise her much, but she wanted to stop before it was too late.
Inside the cage in her head, Ahsoka sat down in the middle, crossed-legged, closed her eyes, and started to meditate. She zeroed in on all the good memories between them from battles throughout the war to training to hanging out in their (limited) downtime.
"Anakin… Can you hear me?" Ahsoka called out through the force.
"Snips, is that you?" He called through the force. "Yes, it's me! I'm trying to break free of the Son's control." Ahsoka replied. "It doesn't seem to be working. Anakin snipped. "Hey, it's not easy! Can you distract me?" She wondered. "What do you think I've been doing, Snips?" He quipped as he blocked another of Ahsoka's strikes.
Concentrating on her good memories, Ahsoka tries with all her might to break free, but with one good memory, a bad one would enter. With each good one, a bad one, stronger than ever, would push back.
Anakin and Obi-Wan match Dark Ahsoka's strikes but she keeps getting more aggressive with each one. "Any time now Snips." Anakin messaged her as he blocked another strike. "It's not like I can just flick on a light." She snarked sarcastically.
Light. That's it! "Master, wait a minute." "Master Kenobi? Can you hear me?" Ahsoka sent it to her grandmaster. Ahsoka? How are you- " Obi-Wan wondered. "There's no time to explain. I need both of you to send all your good memories to me." She sent to both men. "You think that'll work?" Both men sent to her. "Never know unless we try." Ahsoka declared to them.
"Now!" She declared. Memories overflowed her mind, some were Obi-Wan's, some Anakins and some hers. Most of Obi-Wan's memories were in the temple with friends, some missions with his master, and later with Anakin, and her memories were a mixture of spending time with friends then Anakin and Obi-Wan and the clones. Anakin's memories on the other hand were with his mother and then some Obi-Wan and then some with her (there were none of Padmé but she understood why)
With the last of her strength, Dark Ahsoka charged at Obi-Wan and kicked the dagger off of his belt, into the air, and onto the ground. The Son and Daughter crashed through the glass of the tower behind them.
Before Dark Ahsoka could lunge for the dagger, the light overwhelmed her senses, driving the darkness back until Ahsoka's soul broke free, letting her take control of her body once more. Ahsoka's eyes slowly turned back to their baby-blue hue, and the dark veins on her body disappeared. Anakin walked toward her cautiously "Ahsoka? Are you back?" He asked hopefully. Ahsoka looked up at Anakin "Hey, Skyguy." She greeted tiredly.
"Don't scare me like that," Anakin murmured, hugging her tightly. Ahsoka stiffened, then relaxed into the hug. A few minutes later, Anakin let go of Ahsoka. Ahsoka turned to Obi-Wan. "I'm sorry, Master Kenobi," she apologized. "Young one, I'm just glad you're alright.." Obi-Wan declared with relief. After helping her to her feet, Ahsoka noticed the Son and the daughter were a few feet away.
The Son quickly stretched his arm "Bravo, I'll take that." He declared as he held out his hand. The son used the force, calling the dagger to him. The Son grasped the Dagger in his hand "Now that I have the dagger, you are no use to me." The Son declared while he used the force to pull Ahsoka towards him. Ahsoka flew towards him "What do you think you are doing?" Ahoka asked once she was in front of him. The Son didn't say anything. He put two fingers to her forehead and she collapsed onto the floor, her lightsaber rolling out of her hand and to the ground.
As she lost consciousness, Ahsoka thought "Sithspit, not again." As she the darkness takes her for the second time.
"NO!" Anakin screamed before he tried to make his way towards Ahsoka's body. The Son waved his hand, pushing Anakin onto his butt. "I thought she couldn't be influenced again since Ahsoka defeated the darkness." Obi-Wan wondered out loud. The Son turned his head toward the ginger-haired Jedi "She might have defeated the darkness but it's still inside of her." He stated knowingly.
The father appeared on the altar "That's enough!" He demanded, his voice echoing a little.
The son smirked "Glad that you could make it father." He declared. The father narrowed his eyes at the son "Stop this at once!" He demanded his Son.
The son admired the dagger in his hand "No, I don't think I will. I have the dagger and you have brought yourself. Now you will die!" He declared menacingly as he raised the dagger toward his father. "Father, No!" The Daughter screamed before she dashed in front of him, her brother stabbing her instead. "Why?" He exclaimed in frustration. The Son jumped into the air, transforming into his winged creature form and flying away.
Anakin and Obi-Wan stared in horror before Anakin sprinted to Ahsoka's prone body and turned her over. She had black veins all over and her eyes were glazed over. Anakin and Obi-Wan looked at Ahsoka's body, helplessly.
The Father knelt while gently guiding the Daughter to sit down. The Father removes the Dagger from his daughter's back and tosses it aside "My daughter?" He wondered. He gently lays her down on the ground "What have I done?" He asked himself, despairingly. The Daughter stretches her arm out and grabs her father's hand "Do not hate him, father." She begged. A moment later, The Daughter coughed "It is his nature." She reminded him. "No, All is lost. The balance has been broken." He declared in defeat.
The sky grew dark and so had the leaves on the tree nearby. "What have I done?" He wondered. "I thought if I brought you here, I would… But I have destroyed everything!" The Father cried out dismayed as Anakin knelt beside Ahsoka's body and looked down. The leaves wilted and turned into dust which was blowing away.
Anakin looked up at the Father "Can you help her?" He wondered hopefully. The father looked at his Daughter "There is no light. The evil has been unleashed and the darkside shall consume her." He told the chosen one. "You must help her!" Anakin pleaded desperately. "I cannot undo what has been done. There is no hope." The Father said with certainty. "Yes, there is. There is always hope." He declared knowingly. The Father closed his eyes.
As the Daughter placed her hand on her father's cheek, The Father opened his eyes to look at her, the Daughter used her other arm and pointed at Ahsoka's prone body. The Father stood up and positioned himself a few inches away from the bodies. Anakin went and knelt in front of the Father.
The Father spread his arms out, his hands upward. "Then let my daughter's last act be to breathe life into your friend." He declared certainly as he pointed at the two prone figures while Anakin put one finger on the Daughter's forehead and another from the other hand on Ahsoka's. Anakin, The Daughter, and Ahsoka lit up, emitting a blinding white light, causing Obi-Wan to shield his eyes and the Daughter's and Ahsoka's bodies levitated a couple of inches off the ground as Anakin transferred the Daughter's life essence from her body to Ahsoka's. As quickly as it happened, it was over just as quickly. Anakin hunched over and looked over at Ahsoka. The black veins were gone but her eyes were still glazed over. Anakin deflated seeing that Ahsoka hadn't woken up.
Suddenly, Ahsoka started coughing, and Anakin immediately went over and hugged her. After a minute, Anakin let go and laughed, "Hey, Snips." He greeted her, relieved she was alive. Ahsoka looked at Anakin and then at Obi-Wan. "What happened?" she wondered, confused. Anakin glanced briefly at Obi-Wan before looking back at his padawan, "Not much." He said, deciding to tell her what happened at a later date… or never.
"I don't want to do that a third time."Ahsoka thought knowingly as she felt the Daughter's presence again. Ahsoka stood up with Anakin's help and put her lightsabers back where they belonged.
"As the balance in this world crumbles so shall war escalate in your galaxy. As my son descended into the darkside, so have the Sith gained strength." The father explained as kneeled beside his Daughter's corpse. "We will stop your son," Anakin promised. "No, you must go now. He needs your ship to leave the planet. You must leave before he can take it." The father declared knowingly. "What about you?" Obi-wan asked. The father looked down at the Daughter's corpse "I shall mourn all that I have done… and all that has yet to be." He said mysteriously.
Thunder rumbles as Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka walk away, towards their ship so they can leave Mortis.
Thanks for reading and may the force be with you and Happy holidays!
