Responses to questions and snippets:
-KingTheon722: Pretty much, yeah. Only Orks and Rouge Traders are the only ones having a somewhat good time in the setting.
-Thanks! Glad you like the idea.
-TK0421: Pretty much the reason for his betrayal.
-Thanks! Glad you like the idea. Right now, I'm thinking of having it be a death of a thousand cuts sort of way. Where swarms of necromorphs like in World War Z or something. I'm still thinking on the idea.
-Yeah, making sure that Moffs and military officers don't do anything stupid at least until the Empire gets back to its feet. Gathering ships, equipment's, supplies, and anything else that can give them an advantage over the republic.
-NewGuest123: Thanks, glad you approve of me using the rule of cool for the fic Having the team and other heroes interacting with Imperial forces will be cool like a Cadian shocktrooper or a Commissar. OR other space marines like the Salamanders, Grey Knights, Lamenters, Blood Ravens, etc. Know I am getting ahead of myself right now, but the idea just interest me.
-Mental attacks be most likely be the main source of attacks. Right now I'm thinking of having necromorph swarms like in World War z in a sort of a death of a thousand cuts sort of death. Plus, I like the idea of Optimus and the Autobots seeing a race of moon-sized beings made up of the corpses of the species they've consumed just intrigues me. Optimus and the team meeting with Issac Clarke just exites me as well.
-Yeah, Dead Space is one of those franchises where I do NOT want to live in under any circumstances. Right up there with Aliens, 40k, even Mass Effect as I do not want to deal with Reapers. Now that I think about it, a lot of franchises that I like are filled with nightmare fuel like Halo, Cyberounk, Resident Evil, etc.
-KIngDiamond55: Yeah, right now I'm sticking with Disciples of the Spartan for the name. And glad you approve of me drawing inspiration from 40k for the prayers.
-Thanks! Glad you like the idea. The SCAF SI sounds really cool, so good job. Agreed that they are rather underrated in the lore and deserve more love. By the way, what do you think of a Marker Self-insert? Like a SI into the Black or Red marker, who works to build Mankind up and ready to defend humanity from its brethren. Still, thinkin on the idea.
The Fall of the Planet of the Apes (Halo x Planet of the Apes crossover) snippet 3
Summary: Noble Six and Dot had arrived on a world to find the human race having been overtaking centuries ago by evolved apes, with most of humanity having turned feral and the rest isolated in sealed enclaves to prevent contamination. Now, they must work with what's left of the intelligent human race to help bring mankind back to dominance. Or die trying. (And perhaps this time, they will have some help as well)
When Mae was selected to be a part of the expedition to retrieve the SATCOM key that would allow her bunker to communicate with the rest of the hidden human enclaves in real time, she felt no end of stress and anxiety as she fully understood the weight of responsibility that was been placed on her shoulders.
Still, she knew she could not fail no matter what. A thought that she kept repeating to herself over the past few days as she prepared for the trip.
There was one thing she had left to do before she left. Hence why she she was in her room, kneeling before the makeshift and rather crude representation of the group she was a part of idolized.
Ever since he had arrived the the satellite communication a few years, she had been completely enamored with the man known as Lex, otherwise known as his callsign Noble Six. She had remained smitten with him ever since and hearing his deeds and achievements through what reports their station had managed to pick up over the years.
It was no surprise that she would later become a part of the Disciples of the Spartan, along with a few others in her shelter like Korina and Tom. Though, her parents, particularly her mom, showed worry and concern over her decision to join the disciples. But, they had more or less accepted her decision, so long as "she didn't let her faith control her too much."
She didn't understand her parents and the others who didn't believe the same way as her, especially those that decried Lex as a sort of false prophet. Lex and Rosenda have done more for them than anyone else in the past few centuries since the fall of human civilization. It was obvious they, and more importantly, Six were the last best hope for all of Mankind. It's why she took the time to listen into on his speeches whenever he was on the air, talking about the world and how it was before and what his humanity was able to achieve.
It was why she had chosen to devote himself completely to him, and would follow him anywhere he went. Willing to do absolutely anything for the man no matter what it takes.
She shook her thoughts off as she remained focused on her prayer. Praying with all her heart and soul that he would hear her pleas and grant her the strength, courage, and fortitude necessary for her to complete the mission.
Sure, some might say that she was wasting her time as it was secret Lex was extremely busy, and why he would waste time on a mere mortal and unimportant woman like her. But Mae didn't care. For she knew that the Spartan looked over those that serve him, and would reward the faithfully with guidance and strength. This she believed with every fiber in her being.
And if she were to fall in the journey ahead, it would be because he saw her as unfit to carry on in his name and saw some kind of flaw in her that he deemed it necessary to strike her down.
If the latter were to come, she would accept it with no fear. As she burn rather die than bring failure to him or worse, dishonor him.
" Oh Blessed Spartan. Please hear your servants pleas.
For I live by the will of yours.
If you hear this prayer of mine. Bless me.
Grant me strength and guidance in the upcoming journey.
With your wrath. Allow me to smite the enemies of man.
Be the fire in my heart as I follow your example.
Let me bring ruin to those who defy you. And bring solace to those that live under your gaze.
Be my light through the dark times.
Be the fire in my heart.
For my faith, is my shield."
Author's note: That's it for now. This one was rather difficult to write, as I was trying to get into the mindset of someone who worships the ground the figure of their worship walks on. Hope you all enjoyed the next snippet in my Halo x Planet of the Apes idea.
Take care, lads, and remember... stay frosty, gents.
