The bar's many conversations slowly die down as people notice Gregory who definitely stands out due to his eye and his many scars making look like a younger mad eye moody.
Gregory choughs awkwardly and almost everyone averts their eyes in embarrassment, there are a few who still stare however namely the bartender. Bartholomew approaches the bartender "Hello sir, we are new in town. Just moved here from america." The bartender nods towards the stools "Alright I guess you lot want information then, I'll tell you but I would like if you bought something." He says in a droningly but still somewhat friendly tone of voice.
Noswyl and Gregory sit down as well, with Gregory shaking his head "We don't have your currency I'm afraid." The bartender nods "It's ok we accept muggle money here too, though don't expect anyone else to." Gregory immediately picks up that this is a good opportunity to fish for information "And why is that?" The bartender points to a door on the back wall "Well that is the way to Diagon Alley, also where gringotts is. So we get lots of muggle-borns, so we started accepting their money."
Noswyl hands some money to Gregory secretly so as to not draw suspicion as to why the child has the money, Gregory puts the cash on the table "Do you have any mandrake spirit?" The bartender's eyes widened before he smirks "A heavy drinker eh, not to worry we have it. It just isn't on the menu" Gregory nods in understanding as Mandrake spirit is one of the strongest drinks out there.
The bartender and Gregory continue to chat while the bartender looks for the bottle, Noswyl and Bartholomew look at each other in disbelief. As Gregory and the Bartender are now chatting happily despite Gregory being antisocial. Bartholomew snorts "The power of alcohol I suppose."
Fifteen minutes later and the group is now standing in the back alley that leads into Diagon Alley…
Bartholomew looks at Gregory with disbelief "I still don't understand how you can even walk after a glass of that stuff." Noswyl looks between them while thinking Is it really that strong? Maybe I should keep note of that. Gregory scoffs "You're just a pansy"
This of course starts an argument, while they are bickering Noswyl goes up to the wall. They act like an old married couple I swear. Quickly pressing the bricks in the correct sequence the wall opens up, making Gregory and Bartholomew stop bickering. Noswyl turns to them with a smirk "Alright let's get moving!" He says before walking off into the alley forcing them to follow.
Noswyl followed closely behind by Bartholomew and Gregory make their way towards gringotts…
I'm going to make a second fanfic, that will exclusively be Slice of life moments that aren't plot relevant, and I plan on making this the first chapter:)
Bartholomew exits gringotts first looking drained, while Noswyl and Gregory exit only looking a little worse for wear. Gregory sighs "Bart I know you don't like bureaucracy but you should really be more presentable in a crowded area." He says before Bartholomew immediately stands up with a nod "Yeah you're right, but those goblins are vicious!" Noswyl nods in agreement; they seem worse than they were in the movies that's for sure.
Deciding they've been standing there too long one of the goblins at the entrance shoes them away, as they are walking down the street Bartholomew spots flourish and blotts. "That place is a book store, I believe. I think that's as good of a place as any for information." Gregory nods as he leads the group there "The bartender said we should go here first anyway."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm going to continue the rest of the diagon alley part in the new book, sorry about this:( next chapter will explain the broad strokes before finally getting into magical experimentation!!
Also does anyone have tips for writers block? That's why this one is so short.
Anyway hope you enjoyed it, the next one should hopefully come out faster:)
(No promises)
