Meg Griffin had done a lot of things she never expected in her life—like becoming an internet sensation, walking a red carpet, and dating a TikTok heartthrob. But nothing could've prepared her for Zach's latest idea: auditioning for a reality show.
"We'd be perfect for Couples in the Wild," Zach said, scrolling through his phone as they lounged in her living room. "It's like Survivor, but with relationships. Plus, it's great for our brand."
"Wait," Meg said, putting down her cup of ramen. "You want me to camp? Outside?"
Zach laughed like she'd told a joke. "Oh, babe. It's glamping. They have Wi-Fi."
Against her better judgment, Meg agreed to audition. After all, what could go wrong?
The Audition Day
The audition was held in a sleek office building in downtown LA. The producers were looking for couples with "chemistry, charisma, and a touch of chaos."
"We've got this," Zach said confidently as they walked into the room.
Meg, on the other hand, was sweating through her blazer.
The casting director, a middle-aged woman with bright red glasses, greeted them with a clipboard. "Zach and Meg! Great to meet you. Let's see that chemistry."
"Chemistry?" Meg whispered to Zach.
"Follow my lead," he whispered back.
They were barely seated when Zach launched into a rehearsed spiel about how they were the internet's favorite couple. He even pulled out his phone to show their most viral TikToks.
"Impressive," the director said, nodding. "But we need more than TikTok fame. What makes your relationship unique?"
Before Meg could think of a coherent answer, Zach blurted, "We're, like, totally opposite. She's the brains; I'm the vibes."
"The vibes?" Meg muttered.
"Exactly!" Zach said, flashing his signature grin.
The director scribbled something on her clipboard. "And how do you handle conflict?"
"Oh, we fight all the time," Meg said before she could stop herself.
"Healthy fights," Zach added quickly. "Like, last week, we argued over which kombucha flavor is superior. It's guava, obviously."
The director raised an eyebrow. "Interesting. Can you show us an example of how you resolve disagreements?"
"Sure!" Zach said, pulling Meg to her feet.
What followed was the most awkward improv performance of Meg's life. Zach pretended to be upset about her "bad energy," while Meg tried not to laugh as she countered with, "Maybe if you stopped buying overpriced candles, we'd have better energy!"
The casting team burst into laughter, which Meg took as a good sign.
"We'll be in touch," the director said, smiling.
A Bumpy Exit
As they left the building, Zach was buzzing with excitement. "We nailed it! They loved us!"
"Sure," Meg said, still recovering from the humiliation.
But just as they reached the revolving door, Zach decided to celebrate by spinning it dramatically.
"Watch this!" he said, hopping inside.
It did not go well. Zach's foot caught on the edge, sending him tumbling forward and smacking into the glass.
"Zach!" Meg yelped, rushing to help him.
"Did someone film that?" he groaned from the floor.
Backlash from the Fans
Later that night, Zach decided to share their audition experience on TikTok. Unfortunately, his storytelling left out key details—like how he faceplanted in the revolving door.
"Just had the best audition with my girl, Meg," he said in the video. "We're ready to dominate Couples in the Wild! Stay tuned, guys. Big things coming!"
The internet, as usual, had thoughts.
"OMG, they're gonna kill it!"
"Meg deserves better than this kombucha clown."
"Zach's energy is a no from me."
Meg sighed as she read the comments. Fame was exhausting.
The Callback
A week later, they got the call.
"Congrats!" the casting director said. "You're on the show!"
"See?" Zach said, grinning. "I told you we're a power couple."
Meg forced a smile. She wasn't sure if she was ready to survive the wild—or Zach's antics.
But one thing was certain: their adventure was just beginning
