Ayumi's leaving?

Saturday~Mouri Detective agency~ At 1:00 pm~

*Ring Ring~* went Edogawa Conan's phone that was lying on the living room's couch.

"Huh?" said the owner who was reading the new (Detective Samonji) book, he set the book down and picked up the phone to see the caller ID.

Yoshida Ayumi

'Why would Ayumi-chan call on a Saturday afternoon?' was the question on the pseudo-child's mind.

Deciding to give in to his curiosity, he pressed answer.

"Moshi moshi Ayumi-chan?" was what he started the conversation with.

"Ah Conan-kun! Thank goodness you answered!" was the reply that he got which got him confused and concerned.

"Ayumi-chan is something wrong?" was the only thing he could say as a reply.

"Ah right… Gomene Conan-kun but can you come to Hakase's house now? All the other Detective boys are going to be there since I need to tell you guys something important." came the sincere reply which got him even more confused.

"Yeah ok. I'll be there in 15 minutes" was his reply.

"Great! Arigatou Conan-kun. Ja matta ne!" was her reply. "Ja." He said back before they both hung up.

'Something important that she needs to tell all the detective boys… Now what could that be?' was the curious question on his head as he got off the couch.

"Ran-neechan? I'm going out to Hakase's house, Ayumi-chan wants to tell all the detective boys something" he said while putting his shoes on.

"Ok Conan-kun, make sure to call me if you're going to eat lunch there ok?" was the answer he got from the girl in the kitchen.

"Hai! Ja ne!" was his reply before he went out the door with his skateboard.

~15 minutes later~

When he reached the house, he rang the doorbell and didn't have to wait long since 2 minutes later Haibara opened the door and said "Ah good, you're here. Come in." with her usual tone.

"Nice to see you too" he grumbled lowly but still complied and walked in. When he got in he noticed that there were 5 other pairs of shoes at the entrance which proved to him that everyone else is here.

"Yoshida-san! Edogawa-kun is here." Haibara called out while walking ahead of him to the living room and when they both got there, he saw a scene he didn't think he would see in his life after knowing the detective boys.

The kids and Hakase were sitting on a couch while Ayumi sat on the one opposite theirs and they were sitting there quietly without any noise.

You couldn't blame the detective for freezing there for a second in shock before Haibara who somehow read his mind told him "I know, it was shocking for me too but apparently when Yoshida-san asked the other 2 to come she sounded more serious than usual and even told them not to even think about goofing around which would obviously get them to listen."

When he heard that, he thought 'It's something that serious? I've got a bad feeling about this…' while he started walking to the couch alongside Haibara.

When the shrunken duo took their seats, Ayumi started talking "Gomenesai minna for asking you to come on such short notice but I really need to tell you guys this" that got everyone's attention and Agasa said "Go ahead Ayumi-kun, we're listening." To which everyone else except Ayumi nodded in agreement.

Ayumi nodded and took a deep breath before she finally said her speech "Ok so, you guys know about how summer break is gonna start soon right?" she waited for the other's nods before she continued "Well, the truth is, I'm going with my parents on a vacation to England and I'm not coming back till the next semester starts again" everyone nodded in understanding at first before what they just heard got processed in their heads.

The 2 other real kids reaction was shouting "WHAT?!" while jumping off the couch while Hakase's reaction was his wide eyes and gaping mouth.

Haibara's reaction was to widen her eyes slightly but that's it while Conan's reaction was asking "You're leaving?" in a surprised tone.

Ayumi's only reply to those reactions was nodding sadly before Mitsuhiko remembered something and said "But summer break starts next Tuesday, so when are you leaving?" that got everyone to snap out of it and look at Ayumi expectantly.

Ayumi fidgeted nervously under the looks but she gathered her courage and said "Tomorrow…" that got everyone's shock to double and they all screamed "TOMORROW?!" to which Ayumi nodded again.

Mitsuhiko desperate for a reason that'll get Ayumi to stay, said the first thing that popped in his head "But if you're going tomorrow, how are you gonna keep up with this Monday's lessons?" in a hopeful tone.

Unfortunately, there was a solution to that "My parents got Kobayashi-sensei to get them a copy of Monday's lesson schedule already, so they would teach me while we're in the hotel"

That got everyone else to deflate in defeat and Haibara asked "At what time tomorrow are you leaving Yoshida-san?" that got Ayumi to look sadder than before and she replied "6 o'clock in the morning"

After hearing that, everyone screamed "WHAT?!" while Ayumi's eyes got teary and she nodded again, unable to speak anymore.

Everyone in the room fell silent in shock and sadness for a while before Haibara said "Well, I guess we better say goodbye to you then" which got Ayumi to nod.

With that everyone said their goodbyes, starting with Mitsuhiko who hugged Ayumi tightly in tears and said "I'll miss you Ayumi-chan" which got Ayumi to reply "I'll miss you too Mitsuhiko-kun" then Genta hugged Ayumi and said "Try to get me some food as a souvenir when you come back ok?" which got Ayumi to giggle slightly and say "Ok Genta-kun" then Haibara hugged Ayumi and said "Stay safe, Yoshida-san" which got Ayumi to get teary-eyed again and say "I will, Ai-chan" then Hakase hugged Ayumi tightly and said "Take care of yourself" she replied "I will, Hakase"

Conan was the last one to say goodbye and when it was his turn he hugged Ayumi tightly surprising everyone else in the room including himself before he said "We'll miss you Ayumi-chan and don't forget to take care of yourself" to which Ayumi said "I'll miss you guys too and of course I won't forget that" before they let go of each other and just as they did, Ayumi's phone rang.

When Ayumi looked at the caller ID her eyes widened then she looked at the time before she sighed and answered.

"Moshi moshi?" was what she started the call with, there was a reply from the other side of the phone before Ayumi sighed and answered "Hai okaasan, I'll be there in a few minutes. Matta ne" before she hung up.

After she did that she looked at her friends sadly and said "I have to go home and help in packing for tomorrow" which got them to nod in sad understanding to which she nodded back and said "Bye bye minna" while walking towards the front door.

Her friends replied with "Matta ne Yoshida-san/Ayumi-chan/kun" while Ayumi got her shoes on and left the house without looking back.
