CH.1 twilight beginning
We start at a hundred years ago before the belt was forged. Out by a forest with a grey and brown log cabin that had a tall lone tree, water well and fence surrounding in them. There is a 16 year old boy playing with a small rainbow rubber ball.
This boy was approximately 6 foot tall and blue eyes, light skin, short blonde hair shaved off around the sides and wearing a short sleeve gray shirt and long green pants with brown boots his name is cal which is short for calibar.
While cal was playing with the ball tossing it in the air and then catching it his parents called out "cal it's time for dinner",mom said "you can play more with your ball later",said father.
The boy was about to walk to the house when suddenly he heard an evil laughing. He turns around sees saw fourteen menacing shadows.
118yrs later POV
We now see the slightly aged a little more muscled boy in a tree house full of swords,coin money, helpful items and a deck of cards he's entertaining himself by throwing the ball at the wall.
He's a little sad and depressed in same clothes but know has wears with green cargo shorts and a cap hat that's also a mask with a hole for his eyes with a strap to keep it from getting pulled of easily and on his back is a medium size bag that is sort of like a back pack the flap had a face on with the eyes on top it that had the colors red, white,blue and his left eye is red instead of blue. He got tired of tossing the ball put it inside his hat and decided to walk around at noon in the forest of silence.
Before he left the boy took his bag from his back opened the flap pointed in up and said in a rough yet smooth voiced, "Ala all items laying in tree house",then rainbow tentacles shot out of the bag after a small bright light the tips split into three tiny tentacles that looked like fingers grabbed everything in the treehouse in rainbow orbs and as the tentacles pulled away the items got very small and we're swallowed by the bag.
While he was jumping from branch to branch he saw the wild girl who jump away from the tree she had green hair that reached her back wore white and pink vest and shirt with black belt around her stomach, and had sleeves on her arm right is short left is long and wore sleeved boots.

As soon as he got to the tree he saw two people laying down there. One is a boy with blonde hair and a blue shirt with a belt around his belly and black pants and wore light brown boots and gloves while wearing a light blue head band and had a sword on his waist,the other was a large man wore an orange cape,black pants,grey gloves and boots,had a sword on his back along with a metal head band and brown shirt.
Cal decided to jump down the tree to see what these two travelers were doing. When they spotted them the boy lying on the ground said, "hey you there quick help us".
"Yeah I'm afraid not see you two who have been poisoned by the wens venom which is why you two are down there your about to be wenbar food", Cal said.
The big man said, "you can't just leave us lying down here".He straightened the boy out and jumped to the nearest branch. The 16-year-old boy said, "come on you can't just leave that girl already did that please help us".
Cal looked at high branch and said,"trust me you don't want help from someone like me"and jumps up on the branch and jumps away other branches.
While Cal was jumping on tree branches a whole bunch of trees told him to stop while they formed a branch wall in front of him and his bag and hat was making some noise that he understand then the bag and hat along with the trees showed him a memory there was the man and the boy along with a woman and another man they show shiny silver belt as soon as the flash memory was over he decided to go back.
When he arrived it was a nightfall that girls showed up with a furry critter on her shoulder that had a furry tail and hair style similar they knew each other was thinking so he reached into his pocket on his shorts and brought up the with anti venom those men drank it.
The boy said it burns and he said, "what did you do to us"while using a sword like a cane and the girl said,"isn't it obvious you're able to get up and move aren't you lief and Barda".Then lief said,"how do you know are name"and she replied "a tree told me"then barda asked cal, "why did you come back" cal said, "changed my mind",that was partly true couldn't tell them the whole truth yet.
Then a there was a roar and girl then said,"no time for small talk the whenbar will be here any minute now climb the tree".She looked at the blonde hair her boy and said,"didn't you hear a word what I just said".
Lief said,"before we go any further I want you to give me back my cloak". girl said,"you won't enjoy the cloak in the wenbars stomach", then another roar came and she said,"it'll be here any minute climb". Whenbar was walking and while our four characters climb the tree the girl said,"hurry up the whenbar can't climb but it can stretch its neck to the tree branch".
The creature made huge stomp and the girls said,"quick it's right below us". A raven was there squawking they saw the creature coming and the boy said ,"Barda" while reaching out his hand to pull him up. Cal and the girl who climbed up with them and when the whenbar showed up they looked down from the tree branch.
Wenbar looked like a salamander with slight eyes and had razor sharp teeth to match with if it's clause and was the color gray it was looking around for food at the bottom of the tree they looked down and sighed then the girl said Leif and the whenbar looked up and roared The girl then said, "the whenbar knows we're up here"Barda said,"if we stay here it'll get us"then looked at his hand and said,"ugh my hands starting to go numb again".
Lief then said, "so where's my cloak" and then the girl said "huh" and lief replied, "we're all freezing" then the girl I'll look to the left and said to the Raven "Kree quickly" and flew toward tree branch to retrieve the cloak and threw it to Leif and said,"will be warmer if we all all huddled together" and said "quick get closer" and barda grabbed both the girl and cal
once they were all wrapped in the cloak they all turned invisible the creature roar and looked around but couldn't find them so it left. Green haired girl then said, "it just stopped all of a sudden and left what's going on".Barda said," it as if it couldn't see us anymore".
Lief than unwrapped the cloak and Barda said, "what made you change your mind and she said I told you who an old tree he told me you weren't gray guards". Then Barda said,"they are our sworn enemies"and lief said,"you can talk to trees" then she said, "can't everyone and sewn in that cloak is your mother's love".
Lief said, "how could you know that"and the girl said, "look for the last time in old tree told me ok".Then she sensed something and Barda said,"what's the matter"and she said,"now the whin are coming I can already see their red eyes".Lief said,"the whin those are the beasts that attacked us",and wrapped the cloak around themselves becoming invisible again.
girl said, "they think the wenbar has eaten it fill and know come to eat the scraps".Whin are creatures the size of humans color sickly turquoise that walk on four legs,have teeth with four mandibles and pointed salamander like heads with huge red eyes.
Then the wenbar showed up and two wen kneeled in front of it and the wenbar grabbed them with its mouth tossed them in the air and ate em.Lief was shocked and Barta said, "now I know why they leave food for it".Cal said in a calm voice,"yeah the creature is one of the alpha predators in the forest of silence"
The girl said, "we're safe the rest of them have run runaway and the wenbar has gone back to its cave".Lief said, "you're saying that monster lives in a cave"and she replied "that's right".
Barda stood up and said "then it's clear what must be done tomorrow night while it's feasting will sneak into its layer and search it".Girls said there's nothing in its cave but bone and stink what are you looking for.Cal said the only thing you two will find is fester.
lief said,"while putting on his cloak we can't tell you that"Barda said,"what we can tell you the object that we seek is somewhere deep in the most dangerous corners of the forest of silence they also told us an evil guardian keeps watch over it the wenbars cave matches their description perfectly".
Girl and Cal laughed "what are you both laughing at",Lief said and girl, said "you gotta be kidding me that's ridiculous barda,I thought you would at least be smarter than that". Cal said,"we're only on the edge of the forest of silence there are three forests in all and each has a hundred places more evil than this. More dangerous than this lief said and the girl said follow me then Leif said wait hold on,barda said, I guess we have no choice.
We see them in front of a treehouse girl tosses them rope Cal denies it and he stretched his lips and jumped up to the edge of treehouse which surprised them. "Watch your step", said the girl, "wow where you get all this"and she said "it all belonged to gray guards that were sacrificed to the wenbar".She put two berries on the floor and the little critter ate them both upsetting the raven.
"Catch" the lady said the girl as she tossed three apples to the boys.My friends names are filli and kree and my name is jasmine "what's wrong eat or are you still thinking I'm going to poison you",said jasmine. They looked at each other mumbled except Cal and sat down and eat the fruit.Then barta realize something "oh I have asked you what your name is young man",said barda.
Cal replied, "l guess I owe you that my name is cal and the bag and hat mumble gibberish and cal replied "oh and this is baggy and hatter". "Your bag and hat can talk",lief spoke then cal said, "ya and she walks to with hatter on top they and me are more than meets the eye", Cal replied Leif asked,"hey Jasmine have you been in living in the forest of silent since your whole life"
She replied, "yeah sixteen years and counting then" lief said,"what about you Cal" and he replies,"longer time and eighteen years". "How long have you been living alone",Barda asked. Jasmine replied,"when I was seven I was filling the water bags by the stream my parents were searching for food and carrying it up to the tree tops the grey guards caught them burned our house and took them away".
Barda said, "but how was it the guards didn't find you". Jasmine replied,"my mother looked backed to me and made sign for me to stay where I was","please jasmine be a good girl and hide amongst those ferns",her mother replied.
"So I did what my mother told me to I thought my mother and father would come back but they never did".Lief said, "your mother believed in you she knew you'd survive on your own and you've been living in this forest all by yourself that's impressive". "I wouldn't still be here if it wasn't for the trees and the birds and I remember things my parents taught me that's how I was able to build this tree house",jasmine said.
While this was happening kree tried to take a bite of bartas apple and missed cal saw this so he offered a medium piece of apple he tore of his to kree the raven accepted and thanked him by cawwing."Cal why don't you tell us your story",barda asked and cal replied,"it's very complicated".
Barda said, "on behalf of all the citizens of deltora I thank you jasmine and cal we are able to continue our quest because you chose to save our lives". "Well if your quest leads you to the place I think it will you won't survive for very long any way we might as well left you to the wenbar", Jasmine said.
"What kind of place?", lief said "they call it the dark where theres a guardian there more horrible then the wenbar trees are afraid of and the birds refuse to fly there",cal said.
Then the wenbar roared and jasmine said, "but I thought it ate its fill it's never come out this far this is terrible". "what are you two doing we got a run" Jasmine said, barda replied, "do you plan on running the rest of your life", "you're not thinking of actually finding the wenbar are you?",jasmine said. "Yes I am I won't be so easy to eat now that I can move" Barda said, alright lief said.While they walked "oh please don't it's crazy your fools for trying this", jasmine said while they walked away.
"They might have a point",cal said, and jasmine looked at him as he jumped into the tree tops while he was looking for lief barta he said to his back pack,"kazam two swords" and then the bag opened up with a rainbow aura that was holding two swords and gave them to him and started sprinting thru the tree branches.
(Lief's POV)
Me and Barda where walking on the tree branches and barda said, "listen lief will defeat it with one decisive blow don't climb down until I give you the signal",and then barda climbed down, I then said,"where is it which way will it attack from?"
I turned all around heard the stomping looked down straightened myself up and then I slipped on the tree branch and landed on the ground. "This is bad" I said as I got up sheathed my sword climbed a tree felt slime and said ugh what's with this slime and then the wenbar showed up it opened its mouth I reach for my sword and say "it's time to put my training to the test". I slash at the wenbars jaw it lunged its head at me and I dodged out of the way.
Jasmine then came swing on a vine a said, "Lief grab my hand" and that's what I did. "You saved me Jasmine that was cool",I said. "That's the second time I'm starting to think you want to get eaten by the wenbar you should know not all the trees in the forest are kind there are those who deliberately make you slip and fall they've become evil", Jasmine said.
"Wait a minute I've got it",I said then I got up and said to Jasmine "can I use that for a sec". it was that and that I grabbed the vine from Jasmine swing past the wenbar landed on the ground ran behind a tree with a yshaped branch and shouted "hey good looking over here" to the wenbar and it turn it's head at me and I replied "show me what you got" as soon as I saw it the wenbar launched its head in the branches and got stuck I launched my sword under its jaw
Barda came out of the top of the tree branches followed by Cal and Barda shouted my name sticking there blades in the wenbars head then the creature lifted up its head and shook them off to the ground I called out their names as the wenbar retreated back to its cave.
Then I saw cal do something supernatural he said to baggy"kazam medium vial with a cork" and then baggy opened up and gave specifically what he asked in from a rainbow tentacles with three mini tentacles when he got it he then used vial to scoop and collect all the wenbars blood as soon as he was done he placed the cork in the vial he said to baggy "Ala the two swords I'm holding and vial" then opening shined baggy shot out two rainbow tentacle limbs grabbed said items in case them in rainbow sphere and shrunk down while being pulled back into baggy and she closed.
While Barda shieved his sword I walked up to him and said "good job barda we defeated the wenbar"."Look lief I told you to wait for my signal if Jasmine hadn't saved you then you would've been eaten by that monster for sure",barda said. "I didn't save him I just didn't want wenbar slobber on the nice cloak of his thats all that was",Jasmine said. Cal stated, "you really need to work on your listening skills kid".
(Cals POV)
I was walking on tree branches behind Jasmine,Leif and Barda walked behind me.Jasmin said, "choose each tree you walk on lightly they sense what is in your hearts". "Oh boy, not this again",Barda said and while Jasmine and I jumped on top of a branch the other tree branch lifted up lief and Barda Jasmine replied, "told you so".
Barda grumbled and lief said,"so that slime I slipped on did you really think a tree put that there on purpose?". "I know it did there are some trees that turn evil and they don't get enough sunshine and their spirits become twisted",jasmine said.
They continue walked and stopped seeing the vast darkness in the forest, "I never seen a place so dark as this", Barda said "that's why it's called the dark we're venturing in a part of the forest that even birds don't wanna fly through an evil dwells here an old and wicked evil even kree fears the danger",jasmine replied and Cal said, "no living creatures goes there". "No way",Leif said "there's a guardian there in the dark anyone who tries to fight him has never seen again" ,cal said.
"Interesting this sounds like the place we have been looking for",Barda said. Jasmine stopped in her tracks lief said,"what's the matter","the trees are warning us to turn around they say going any further can only end badly",she said. "If that's where the dark is then that's where we wanna go",Lief said.
"Right let's do it",Barda said as he marched forward. "I can't go with you I can't take that risk I'm all these two have and it would be wrong to abandoned them",jasmine said.I understand,Lief said "we thank you for all you have done but we must go on",Barda said yeah "thanks for everything especially not taking my cloak",Lief said.
"Take good care of that cloak after all you owe it your life",Jasmine said leif only replied by and walked away. Barda then said, "what about you Cal What are your plans". "I think I'll stick with you guys hatter,baggy and also the trees told me to help you along and I always listen to my instincts",Cal said
The three males climbed down from the tree and walk towards the dark.Lief stopped and Barda said, what's the matter? The belt it feels like it's getting warmer the closer we get to this place. Cal had remember in his vision of the silver belt. Interesting what do you think it means?, Barda replied. I don't know, but the belt seems to be sensing something,Lief said.
"Perhaps it reacts like that when ever it's close to one of the seven gems which means we're close to the evil" ,Barda said as he drew his sword.
"The seven gems"Cals thinking, and then it hit him the silver belt in the vision of it reacting to seven gems he realized that's the belt of Deltora. Which means Cal was more determined to join them on their quest.
The guardian that even trees fear,Lief thinking. Barda asked Leif what's the matter, nothing ,Lief said. "Don't tell me you're starting to chicken out already",Barda joked. "Hey I'm not a chicken" leif said, "all right calm down",Barda said "don't treat me like a kid", Lief said "even the bravest of man will have his fears",Barda said "yeah well I'm not afraid", Lief said as he walked forward six paces.
"You're being stubborn",Barda said "no he's being arrogant, just charging in without thinking even a tiny bit",Cal said. "In that case lift high the sword forged by your father and fight with courage and honor, Barta said. Lief turned around and Barda asked will you do this? and then Lief pulled out his sword and said "you bet I will".
Then all of a sudden, gust of wind and shout out from the dark and blew the leaves, they saw where the wind was coming from Lief said, "the belt is warmer than before". Cal listened to his instincts and said Kazam two swords and then baggies rainbow tentacle gave him two swords for each hand. "Right then we must find that gem", Barda said as they all walked toward the dark.
As soon as they were halfway to the dark, a big golden Knight with both hands on the hilt of his sword while it was stuck in the ground.
