It was the next morning Adam felt Kim nuzzling closer tucking herself under his chin. He opened his eyes seeing she was still asleep or at least her eyes were closed still. He smiled fondly loving how comfortable it felt. He felt her hand moving on his chest. He wondered if it was a dream she was in or if she was just exploring his body. Either way it was fine, though he was worried if it was a dream she might do something that would embarrass her later. But for now it was fine, comfortable. So he let her be. It wasnt long till he felt her moving her full body. She was stretching out but that moved her body away from him. He pulled her closer again. "So you are awake?" She laughed a bit. "Yes I am. I was wondering if you were or if you were dreaming." He tickled her a bit. "I was just enjoying the quiet time safe in your arms. Its the best feeling." She smiled looking up at him. "I agree with you. I enjoy the comfort you bring me. The safety you bring me with being able to be open, honest, vulnerable. Its been a god send to me." He hugged her tightly.

"Same. Im so thrilled we crossed paths. Its interesting you said you were married for 5 years. I was with Roman for most of that same time frame. How did you meet her?" She asked knowing they never talked about it. "Her brother was one of my friends. We met when I was hanging out with him. We hit it off, it was fun for awhile. When she got pregnant I felt like getting married was the right thing to do. 'Make an honest women out of her' as I was told. But in a lot of ways it felt more like roommates or maybe friends with benefits type of relationship. We werent very intimate. We didnt shower together, we didnt go on dates, we didnt have deep conversations. Every few days in the beginning we fucked. As things got more strained it happened less till it almost never and it was a chore when we did. What about you?" He saw understanding in her eyes.

"We worked together. We were both patrol officers at the time. I was already working towards becoming a detective. It was maybe 4 months after we started to work together that I became a detective. He seemed okay with that since I was still on the streets, being the real police. God the chip on his shoulders was so aggravating but I saw he could be a good person. He donated bone marrow to a kid he met on a domestic call. I guess I was blinded a bit. He's younger than you. I think I liked that too. A little cougar thing going on." She laughed a bit. "But honestly he was a bit rough in the bedroom. It always felt like fucking. I never felt that intense connection, I never felt like their was love behind it. And while I completely agree fucking is fun and I do love it. I need more, I want more. I want someone who wants to change it up. Be okay giving up control for a bit. Im 37, I need and deserve a real man. Its about damn time!" Kim had watched Adams expressions change as she spoke.

"Nothing wrong with any of that. You do deserve that, 100%. And I think we will get that together. As long as we keep growing this. Because this is how we build that strong foundation. Now since we have been talking about sex, how old were you when you first had sex?" He had been curious since her first kiss was at age 6. "Oh okay! I see where this is going!" Kim laughed as she tickled him a bit. "I was 16. God so horrible! After he got done with baseball practice, behind the equipment shed. Oh so very romantic!" They both laughed. "What about you tough guy?" She poke him a bit loving the playfulness. "17, after junior prom. We had friends that were all doing it that night so we did too. It kind of felt forced. Like I really wanted to get laid but Im not sure that would have been the preferred choice. It didnt feel like we decided on it naturally. I guess if we had been making out and we just decided to go for it naturally that would have been better. I kind of felt the pressure of our group to do it. I didnt want to be seen as weak or scared. A pussy for not doing it. After that I let the kiss determine if sex would follow. If the kiss was hot, I would move things further. If she was a bad kisser or even meh or I felt nothing I stopped it dead in its tracks. No sense getting someones hopes up for nothing." He smiled seeing her smiling at him.

"Makes sense. I get it. I think I was so thrilled to have the captain of the baseball team liking me. The guy who could get any women he wanted, chose me. Not my smartest move. We both ended up in the military. He didnt last long though. He was partying too much and couldnt maintain weight. I saw him a few years after that, I didn't recognize him at all. It was the voice that got me. He died already. Heart failure sleeping next to his wife in his childhood bedroom with the kids down the hall. I think it was Thankgiving morning or around that time frame." She was happy being pulled into his embrace again. "Well we let things happen naturally. Whenever you are ready and feel like its safe. No rush, no pressure." He held out his pinky finger like he did with his daughter. Kim laughed but wrapped her pinky finger around his. "Pinky swears cant be broken!" He winked loving how easy thing conversation was going.

"Since we are on the topic, are you on birth control?" He asked knowing it was important for the future. "Well I went off it when I went oversea. But I have been back on it since I came back. Its been in my system for about a month now." Kim explained as she laid with him. "Which did you go with this time?" He asked knowing it was important. "Um well I did the one year IUD. It seemed like the best option for me." She looked up seeing him processing her words. "Sounds like a smart option. No pill to remember, no patch to change. Good job." He kissec her head loving holding her close. "Agree. Anything else you want to know?" She asked unsure what he was thinking. "I dont think so. Just trying to figure out all the angles. Since we are heading in that direction. Anything you want to know?" He asked hoping she understood where he was coming from. "Do you want the whole list or are we good without that?" She asked unsure. "I dont need to hear it. As long as I know its just you and me sexually then Im good. Do you want the list?" He was unsure. "No. It's unnecessary. I just wanted to be on the same page." She smiled kissing him on his chest.

"Same page is where I want to be. Okay so I know you have mentioned that you like a good fucking and that after a tough case you like to play by yourself. Do you like to play with others?" He smirked looking at her. "Are you asking me if I go to sex clubs or if I will play with you at some point?" She asked curious. "Well I never even thought about the first one. But yeah I want to know how you feel about playing with each other. And what that would look like?" He made sure he could see her face. "Well I do want to play with you when we get there. Im not into the other the top stuff but I think we will have a very healthy sex life ahead. The chemistry is here, the comfortableness is there, the trust is there. I just need to get there. I still have fears with the shrapnel in my back. That being rough could move it. But I need to get that out of my head. I dont want it to hold me back all the time. And right now it is." Kim adjusted their hold so she could sit up and look at him better.

"In therapy at the recovery center they talked about making a list of all the things I want to do with my second chance at life. So I think we should both do that and check off the items together?" She suggested excited for the idea. "That is actually a great idea! So yes lets do that! I will start my list today." He was excited for this idea. It sounded like living in the moment and enjoying life rather than putting things off again. "Awesome! Okay so shower time for you! Walk time for me and Ranger." She winked getting out of the bed. "Sounds good. See you in a bit." He got up kissing her then headed to the bathroom to shower. Kim dressed more then headed grab Ranger. He would need to go potty so it was time to get moving for him. "Ranger its walk time! Im sure you need to potty." Kim smiled watching Ranger running for the door. "Okay lets go!" Kim hooked on his leash and they headed out of the building. Ranger went almost right away but Kim wanted him to walk some more.

Around 15 minutes later they were headed back inside the building. Kim saw a man waiting for the elevator. "Good morning." Kim was polite as they waited. The man just nodded at her. Ranger was on gaurd but not barking or growling. They all entered the elevator all going to the same floor. Kim thought nothing of it. As she waited she was looking at her phone trying to be productive. They all got off on the right floor, Kim moved Ranger towards Adams door. The man right behind them. Kim opened Adams door and started to enter. "You live here?" The man asked her. "No my friend does. Im just visiting. Can I help you?" Kim asked letting Ranger into the apartment. "Can I see my son then?" The man asked. "Um yeah let me grab him. He was in the shower. Wait here please." Kim closed the door locking it.

She headed to Adams room. "Hey thereis a man at your door claiming to be your dad. I asked him to wait in the hall." Kim saw Adam wasnt fully dressed yet but close enough. "Interesting. Let me grab a shirt and I will come out." He kissed her quick as he grab a shirt pulling it over his head as he moved to the door. He took a deep breath before opening it. "Hey pops! What brings you by?" Adam asked confused by the visit. "I just wanted to talk. Catch up. Can I come in?" Bob asked. "Yeah sure. Im getting ready for work so I dont have long. Whats going on?" Adam was still trying to get ready as they talked. Kim was in the kitchen making coffee for them. She tried to stay out of it. "I heard the divorce was final. And I see you moved on." Bob said as he looked back towards Kim. "Yeah its final. And Kims a good friend. We are going through a lot of the same things. Its been nice hanging out with someone who gets it. Whos been there too. Is that what you wanted to talk about?" Adam was confused as he put his boots on.

"Well shes here. I was surprised." Bob looked back towards her as she sat drinking her coffee, Ranger eating his breakfast. "Well on nights I dont have Izzy Kim and I hang out. Its been fun finding a new friend. Shes a sergeant with CPD and the Army. Total badass. But Izzy hasnt met her yet and Im not ready for that either." Adam grabbed his badge and sidearm then headed to the kitchen. Ranger ran right over to Adam. "Hey buddy! Were you good on your walk for mommy?" He petted his head laughing as Ranger barked. "Good boy! You are with mom today so be good at the gym. Mommy needs to work out and regain her strength." Adam loved how sweet Ranger was. "Thanks for the coffee Kim!" Adam took it happy to have it. She just nodded feeling strange with Bob there. "Alright dad, anything else?" Adam asked unsure why he was really there. "I want to get to know Izzy. I want to be apart of your life. I know we have had issues but I want to fix that. Or try at least. Can we try?" Bob asked not realizing Kim was watching them both. "I have Izzy again next weekend. We can go to the park together. But actions speak louder than words. And words need to be to sincere, apologetic, authentic. But we can try. For now I have to finish getting ready for work. I will be in touch." Adam let Bob out.

"How are you feeling about that?" Kim asked getting up to hold him. "Not sure but we shall see. Okay I have to go but I will see you tonight for our date. Have a great day." Adam kissed her letting his lips linger. "You have a great day too! See you tonight!" She kissed him back loving the connection. "Bye buddy! Behave okay?" He pet Ranger again as he left with his coffee in hand. He exited the building seeing his dad leaving the parking lot. He was confused by his dads visit but pushed it from his mind excited for his date with Kim later. Kim had settled in the kitchen making some breakfast for herself. She was concerned that Bob would call Wendy about her being there. But it hadn't interfered with Izzy so she was hopeful it wouldnt cause an issue. Kim headed out shortly after heading to the gym trying to get in a workout before her date later.

Kim had arrived at the gym knowing it would be a hard workout. While it was low impact it was still a brutal workout. But it left her feeling like she was getting stronger each day. "Okay Ranger Im going to work out and then we will go to the park." Kim patted his head as she arrived at the gym. She found a machine where Ranger could lay close by her. She started the class as Adam arrived at work. He was ready to move forward on the day. He headed into the district ready to get the day over with. He loved his job but today he just wanted to be with Kim. Enjoy getting to know her more. Enjoy a date with her. "Morning guys!" Adam stated as he dropped his bag at his desk. "How was your sleepover?" Jay asked wiggling his eyebrows. "It was nice thank you. Had some dinner, watched two documentaries about Jonestown. Then we talked for a bit before bed. Then woke up this morning talked some more. While I showered she walked Ranger. She returned to my dad wanting to come in. She left him outside the door while she got me." Adam shrugged a bit.

"See Jay he's keeping his word!" Erin smirked at him. "Well truth be told she's not sure she's physically ready for that. She knows the doctors have all told her she will be fine. But she's still not there yet. I told her when shes ready to let me know. Its no rush. I also know she is self conscious about her scars. While yes they are still red and raised they dont scare me at all. I dont think they are ugly, that they make her ugly. But she still needs to build up that confidence again. I felt the same way after I got shot. But it got better and so did I. And so will she." He was confident about that. "She will be fine. It takes time we all know that. She could have scar revision done. It would flatten out the scars some. She can also try scar tape. It helps." Jay knew all the tricks though they didnt all work but it was worth a try.

"Im not suggesting them. It doesnt bother me at all. And Im afraid if I bring it up she will think that I think they are ugly. And that is not happening. Truly they dont bother me. Was I surprised when I saw them, sure. But that was only because there were so many spots. Proving just how gravely she was injured. I think it scared me more than anything. This morning she was telling me about a suggestion she got in therapy about writting a list of all the things she wants to do in life. She suggested we each do one and we cross them off together. We are both living a second chance to live. And Im not holding it back anymore. I want to live free again. Live the life I deserve again. Its going to be great. I can feel it." Adam was smiling wide.

"I love that idea! Its suggested a lot for soilders when they come home. Like a reason to give people hope, excitment again. I think its good for you both given what you have both been through. The list is also part of living for today or living life to the fullest. Its really a positive experience." Jay had gone through the group meetings to know it all worked well for lots of those who came back broken. "Im excited to get started on making the list. I told her I would start it today. I cant wait to get started." Adam was excited. He sat down pulling out paper to start writing his list. It was easy to let the ideas flow. He loved this so much. He was even going to create a list if things he wanted to do with his daughter. Things he wanted to share with her. Places he wanted to visit with her or experiencehe wanted to give her. With her current love of fish he really wanted to take her on a dolphin watch tour but he was sure he needed to be on the east coast for that. Or at least that would be the easiest place to see it. Maybe even whale watching.

He continued his list as Kim finished her workout. She was sweating and sore but she knew it was worth it. She was in the car driving towards the hotel when her phone rang. She answered right away seeing it was the Commander. "Good morning Commander." Kim was excited but nervous too. "Good morning Sergeant. Im sure you are anxious to know your start date. I have all the moves set in place for you to start Monday morning. As we discussed since your lung function improved greatly from your last test you will taking over homicide at the 21st. I will warn you the closure rate is not good right now which is why I want you there. And there will be some resistance but I know you can handle it. Do you have any questions for me?" Crowley asked. "No I have no questions at this time. But I really appreciate this opportunity. Im excited to get back to the beat. And now I can confidently move out of the hotel and into my new apartment." Kim was so relieved.

"Hotel? What happened to your old apartment?" Crowley asked. "Lost it in the breakup with Roman. So Im rebuilding my life." Kim shrugged a bit. "Wow! No wonder you needed help with your dog. Who did you find to watch him?" Crowley was now interested. "Officer Ruzek from Intelligence. He has been a great friend since I got back. We are in very similar situations. So its been great." Kim was happy with how it was going. "Wow. You know his history right? That he is a bit of a loose cannon?" Crowley was surprised. "I know all of that but he has been great with me and that is all I care about right now. And I honestly think being a dad has mellowed him. He has a gentle caring soul. I really like him." Kim sighed a bit. "Okay Sergeant. Just rest some. See you on Monday morning 8am." Crowley hung up shortly after. Kim was left thinking about Adam. How two people had now warned her about him. But she trusted him and knew in her gut that he was a good person. And he admitted he was brash, impulsive when he started. But his soul spoke to her.

She knew they would have disagreements about work and cases since they were both so passionate about work but she knew they coukd work through them. As she arrived at the hotel she got Ranger out and they headed inside. She texted Adam right away letting him know when she started work again. She was excited. "Thats amazing Kim! Im so happy for you. Let's celebrate tonight during our date!" He was so happy for her. She really did need this. They both did for different reasons of course. "Absolutely! I have to shower then park time with Ranger. See you later tonight." Kim sent a wink emoji before setting her phone down to jump in the shower. She felt like she smelled from the hard work out so this was a necessity before heading out in public again. She used the shower to think about her new job but also her excitement for a date night with Adam.

Kim knew Adam planned on taking her for Thai food but didnt know if he had something else planned or not. Either way she was excited to see where the night went. She exited the shower ready to take Ranger to the park. He needed the exercise and deserved it after being so well behaved at the gym. She dressed rather quick so they could get moving. "Park time!" Kim watched Ranger jump up right away excited for the park. Both Kim and Adam were working their best to stay busy throughout the day. Trying to stay busy to keep the nerves under control. Neither wanted to show how nervous they were no matter how excited they were. Nerves were normal on a first date but this seemed more important since they already liked each other so much. They knew where they wanted it to lead. They just needed time to get there. Both okay with that.

They had agreed to meet at Kims hotel and that Ranger would come with them on dates till Kim got her apartment. It was just easier and really she moved this weekend so it wasn't a big deal. They could still enjoy the night. It was a casual date anyway. So it was fine. Adam had arrived home looking forward to dinner. He took a quick shower wanting to look clean and fresh for the night ahead. He choice a nice pair of dark jeans and a green button down shirt. He chose his nicer brown chucka boots for the night. He checked himself once more before heading to Kims hotel. Kim had been going crazy trying to find something to wear. She settled on dark skinny jeans with a blue flowery top that was flowly, airy, light. She paired it with a light weight cardigan wrap and high heals. She made sure her hair was perfect, her make up was perfect, natural looking. Minimal jewelry was the final touch.

They were beyond nervous but excited too. Adam showed up wiping his hands on his jeans as he knocked. He heard Ranger bark a little but it wasn't aggressive. Adam smiled knowing Ranger would be excited to see him. Kim took a deep breath before opening the door wide. "Hey! You look good! That color suits you." Kim leaned in for a kiss. "Hey. You look hot! Those shoes make your legs look miles long. So hot!" He kissed her letting his lips linger a bit. "Well thank you! Sounds like I picked the right outfit then." Kim laughed as they moved in her room a bit. "Yes you did. So sexy!" He hugged her letting his fingers wander a bit. "Let me grab my purse and then we can head out." She smiled looking a him over her shoulder. "Sounds good. I already checked with the restaurant and they are fine with a military dog coming with us tonight. I know you worry about that." He saw her heart melting. "Thank you. I always worry about that. I dont need him to survive but its not fair to him to be here all night alone. Once I get us moved it should be better for several hours at a time." Kim smiled. Adam had Ranger on a leash already waiting for her.

"Okay Im ready to head out." She turned around smiling wide seeing Ranger getting love from Adam. "Alright lets head out." He opened the door for her closing it behind them. He offered her his hand to hold as they walked out together. They looked like a normal couple, not people on a first date. "Lets get moving." Adam opened the car doors for Kim and for Ranger. Once they were in he moved to his door jumping inside the car. As he drove his hand with intertwined with Kims the whole way. The couple sharing glances as they drove. Blushing when they got caught looking at the other. It was silent but comfortable. When they arrived Adam turned off the car jogging around to help Kim out before opening the door for Ranger. The walked inside excited for dinner together. "This looks like a nice place." Kim looked around excited for a fuller restaurant. "It had good reviews online so I had help in finding it. True be told I dont do Thai often. i normally get Chinese." He offered as they moved to the table they were taken to.

"So Im allergic to soy so thats why I do Thai. Peanut sauce, curry, fish sauce all work for me. Real Thai rarely has soy sauce." Kim explained as they sat down together. "That makes sense. Is it a deadly reaction?" He was curious if he needed to worry. "No not a all. Severe stomach pain and bloating. Looks like Im pregnant. Its pretty amusing looking but hurts like hell. So I avoid it like the plague." Kim knew these things would come up. "Gotcha. Any allergies I need to be concerned about?" He was worried. "Nope. Nothing that will kill me. Nothing that will close my throat off. The worst may be mushrooms since I get dizzy, migraines and no depth perception. Literally walked deep smack into a wall." Kim chuckled a bit but so did Adam. "Sounds funny to witness but not fun." He smiled a bit. "Oh absolutely!" Kim laughed. "So should we order some appetizers?" He asked knowing some of the things she liked were on the appetizer menu. "Yes please! To share of course!" Kim smiled excited to share with Adam. She also ordered a Thai Iced tea which he had never had before.

When it arrived Kim stirred it up really good before offered it to Adam to taste. He looked skeptical but took a sip. "Taste like chocolate milk a bit. I like it." He took another sip before she snatched it back. They both laughed a bit. "So how was your day today?" Adam asked unsure how her day went. "It was good. Pilates is so much harder than I thought it would be. The core strength needed to keep the body up and not fall. Its crazy. But it was invented by a former POW. Which is really cool to me." She watched him look surprised. "That's really interesting. I didnt know that. But it is really cool. I will look into it." He was excited about it. "I saw a few videos online if gym bros trying pilates and failing or struggling hard core. I laughed my ass off watching them." Kim smiled wide. "Sounds great. What else did you do today?" He asked holding her hand. "Um talked with Crowley about the job. Apparently the closure rate is poor right now. Which is why Im being placed there. So Im concerned. I did mention that you have watched Ranger for me during my meeting with her. She called you a bit of a loose cannon. I told her that I really like you, a lot. And that you have a kind, gentle soul. That fatherhood mellowed you out. I just wanted to be honest." She squeezed his hand knowing that was tough to hear.

"Nothing I havent heard already. Obviously I got my job because of that. But you are right fatherhood has mellowed me out a bit. I dont want to end up in jail doing something stupid. And I dont want to be fired either. I have made impulsive decisions and things Ive been in trouble for but Im a dad. I had to clean up my act. So thank you for seeing that in me. I appreciate that you see the good in me and not just the past issues." She could see the honesty in his eyes. "Im proud of you for making the effort to change for your daughter but for you as well." She leaned in to kiss him. "Thank you. Truly thank you." He looked at her with what looked like love. The appetizers were placed before them. Kims eyes bright looking at them. Kim grabbed a chicken satay and a curry puff to start with. Adam dug in as well. It looked good so he was game. Kim moaned tasting the curry puff. "So good." Kim was happy with it.

"Okay let me try it." Adam cut his open letting the steam out. He took a bite letting the flavors cross his palette. "That is so good. Im glad you suggested this." He took another bite watching Kim switch to the chicken dipping it into the peanut sauce. "So good too! This place is great so far." Kim was happy they came here. "This is really good. Im happy you are opening my mind to more food options." He also tried the chicken loving the flavors. "How was your day?" Kim asked as they ate. "Good. I worked on my lists of things I want to do. But I also made a list of things I want to do with Izzy. This summer I want to take her dolphin watching. She's obsessed with ocean life right now so I think it will be great for her. I think going to the East Coast will be the most cost effective place to do that. What do you think?" He wondered what she was thinking. "I think East Coast is the best plan. California is so expensive so I agree. And it sounds fun for you both. A good bonding experience. Though I think you have a beautiful bond already." She loved listening to them talking together.

"Thank you! Thats all I ever wanted to hear. I didn't even hear that in my marriage." That broke him a bit. He actually needed a moment after that. "You are a beautiful man Adam. Inside and out." Kim knew it was hard for him to hear. He just nodded holding back tears. "And its okay to cry a bit. Just proves you are a good soul." Kim leaned in to kiss him softly. "Thank you. Really I appreciate hearing those words. I needed to hear them. So thank you." Adam squeezed her hand lovingly. They continued to hold hands till their main courses arrived. Kim took the first bite of her dinner. She loved it. "You want to try?" Kim offered. "Sure." Kim offered a bite of chicken with veggies in the oyster sauce. "Oh wow thats really good. Why do I not eat Thai more often?" He was surprised but happy. "Oh I love it. Its so crazy good." Kim smiled. "You are converting me from Chinese." They laughed as they continued to eat.

"How are you set for the move this weekend?" Adam asked unsure how much she really needed to move. "Well when I was at the storage unit I saw I have a bedroom set, no mattress. A couch, a table, the dishes that were mine, the kitchen stuff that was mine, some of the sheets and towels. Its not a ton to move but its something to start with. Once I get everything open I can see what I need to replace. Its a little scary being so unsure what he left me with. Or maybe not left me with. I really don't know. I just hope he was civil when he packed my things. But honestly I was just thrilled he didnt trash my car. He did maintain it while I was overseas." She smiled a bit. "Well Im happy to hear that. That really is important. And costly if he didnt take care of it. Have you ordered a new mattress yet?" He hasnt heard her mention it. "Yeah I ordered another temperpedic. I love a strong mattress that's comfortable on top. Supports me when I side sleep. Which is most of the time." She shrugged a bit. "Sounds good to me. Cant wait to sleep on it." He winked at her watching her blush.

"Sounds like a plan for Saturday night!" She smiled wide thinking about it. "How are you feeling about seeing your dad this morning?" Kim asked knowing it was a touchy subject. "I dont know. I just dont want him to disappoint my daughter. He didnt show up for me so I dont want that for her. Its almost insane that he arrived this morning. And that you were there. Im not worried about him telling Wendy or anything. But I dont know. I just want to focus on the good things. And hes not that." Adam smiled looking towards her. "I hear ya. I was very confused when he came to the door. Hes nothing like you. He was crass, cold. I even said hi to him in the elevator but he only nodded at me." Kim had no idea what to think. "Sounds about right. Hes only good to ladies when hes trying to screw them." He shrugged but Kim laughed. "He could learn a few things from you." She winked. "Yeah he could." He smirked thinking about it.

"You ready to head out?" He asked seeing her dinner long over. "Yeah I think I am." Kim was happy, content with how dinner had gone. Adam paid the bill so they could head out. The next stop was the Navy Pier. He loved walking on it at night, the sound of the water calms him. They arrived letting Ranger use the bathroom before the started to walk away. It was a nice stroll arms wrapped around each other the whole time. "This is so comfortable. I am loving this time together." Kim looked up seeing him smiling at her. He stopped them so he could kiss her under the stars. "Magical." Kim kissed him right back. They finished the walk to the end of the pier before heading back towards the car. "Im thinking of doing something crazy." Adam said out of the blue. "Like what?" Kim wondered where his mind was at. "So I am thinking about getting a tattoo on my scar. Saying 'the one that didnt kill me' with the date. What do you think?" He did want her opinion since they were headed towards a relationship. "Im not a huge fan of tats myself but I like the idea. I know you have a few already and this one would be meaningful. So yeah I think you should do it." Kim nodded agreeing along.

"Will you go with me?" He asked hoping to make a date night out of it. "Of course! Never question that. I promise Im here for it all." Kim wrapped her arm around him again wanting him close. "I think we need to head home. I really want to kiss you like crazy!" He watched her eyes darken. "Yeah me too!" She bumped his hip and started dragging him to the car. The couple laughing the whole time. "Lets get this sexy ass to my place!" He kissed her before helping her into the car, Ranger jumping in her lap. Adam got in laughing at Ranger. He pet his head before starting to drive home. It was a short ride filled with tension. They arrived allowing Ranger to use the bathroom again before they headed inside to Adams apartment. It was a quiet ride in the elevator to his floor. They entered the apartment letting Ranger off the leash. He went right for his water bowl clearly thirsty from their time out.

"You want a drink?" Adam offered while grabbing a water from the fridge. "Sure, thank you." Kim walked into the kitchen jumping up to sit on the countertop. "Really?" He smirked looking at her. She grabbed his shirt pulling him closer. "Yes really. I want your lips on mine." Kim watched as he leaned down to kiss her. It started off softly, slowly but it grew hotter. Kim broke first given her lungs were still compromised but they were both left breathing heavy, their foreheads resting against each other. "That was hot! So hot!" He scooped her up bringing her over to couch. "I know you arent ready and thats fine but god damn girl!" He kissed her neck loving the sounds Kim was making. "So hot! So damn hot!" Kim grabbed the back of his head moving his lips back to hers. "How far are we going here?" He looked her straight in the eyes seeing she was conflicted. "I want to but Im scared." Kim almost cried. "Hey thats okay. How about we pause this and just watch a movie? I never want to do that when you are scared, nervous okay but never scared. So we cool it for tonight. Okay?" He watched her nod but she was still crying slightly.

"I feel like I ruined our night." She whispered. "Not at all. You are still here, in my lap. Im not upset at all. More surprised it got that heated. Its fine, curl up and pick a movie." He adjusted her but still kept her close. "Thank you." She kissed his body but did as told getting comfortable and picking a movie. Half way through the movie the couple paused the movie to change clothes into something more comfortable. Adam watched Kim getting out of her jeans into sleep shorts and taking her bra off. He loved how comfortable she was in his room. He came up behind her hugging her tight. "When the movie is over I will walk Ranger so you dont have to change again." He kissed the side of her head then went back to the living room. Kim followed but didnt want to continue the movie. She wanted to talk a bit more. "Can I ask you some questions?" She asked looking towards him. "Yeah of course. Always. What do you want to know?" Adam was unsure where this was going but he was happy to quell her fears.

"What do you like in the bedroom? I have wondered since our talk this morning where you mentioned not having the best sex life in your marriage." Kim watched him process her words. He had wondered if her being scared was partly because of their conversation that morning. "Well are you asking what my boundaries I have or what I enjoy doing and having done?" He wanted all the questions up front. "Both." Kim nodded. "Okay so I will start with boundaries. I wont choke, I wont use whips, chains, electricity. Im not into threesomes, no strangers in the bed. Not into things going inside me." He pulled her back into his lap. "I love a woman who will take control in the bedroom. You want to cuff me, go for it. You want to blindfold me, go for it. You want to cover my body in whipped cream, chocolate and lick it off, go for it. I will be more than happy to go down on you. And I dont expect it in return though I do enjoy it, a lot. I really enjoy changing up positions. Its fun. If you need something Im not giving you tell me. If you want to try something new, tell me. Im open to most things. What about you?" He hoped it didnt freak her out.

"Taking control and giving control, Im good with all that. I didnt have much control in the bedroom with Roman since it was always rough and the way he liked it. Rarely was it what I wanted, how I wanted it. Im not going to say it was boring because it wasnt. But I would love to have control more. Oral was not something he liked to do because that was about me. So I refused to do it to him. I think Im most scared about my scars. I know you have seen them, touched them. But I have wondered how it would feel if you kissed them. Would you kiss them?" She looked up concerned. "Im going to walk the dog then we are going to the bedroom to do just that. Im not uncomfortable with that at all. I will be back shortly." He kissed her long and slow before he took Ranger out to potty for the night.

They returned 30 minutes to find Kim in the bedroom waiting for him. "Hey are you ready to do this?" Adam asked as he closed the door and moved towards her. "Yeah Im good with where this is going right now. Its something I have wondered since we met. So I want this to happen." Kim was strong with this part. "Okay. Lay face down, shirt off please." He smiled happy to have some progress from just an hour ago. She did as asked though she did show him her breasts. She laid flat on the bed getting comfortable. Adam took his shirt off so it didnt get in the way. He crawled over her body rubbing his hands over her body. He saw goosebumps breaking out over her skin. He started with the scar closest to her neck. Not just placing one kiss on the scar but kissing over the full scar as he moved to the next one. He felt her squirming under him. He chuckled knowing his beard was tickling her.

The last scar he found was by her shorts. He finished kissing that last scar. He had heard her moaning a bit during the kisses but he wasnt sure how she was truly feeling now. "You missed one." Kim smirked as Adam looked confused. "Can I look for it?" He asked with a cheeky smile. "Its not much further down." He pulled her shorts down finding it right away. It was partly on her butt cheek. "Oh Im going to love kissing this one even more." He grabbed her butt as he kissed over the last scar. He laid next to her. "How are you feeling now?" He asked looking into her eyes. He saw tears in her eyes. He wiped them away worried a bit. "Why are you crying?" He was worried and confused. "It felt tender, caring, loving!" She cried but was smiling too. "Thats how it should be. Scars dont change who we are." He moved to kiss her softly. "Remember its proof we made it out alive. That we chose life, we fought to get here. Always remember this changes nothing for me." He watched her nod a bit still crying softly. The insecurities ran deep from the trauma.

"Wheres your head at?" He wondered how she felt now. "Spinning the what ifs. I do that a lot since Ive been back. Its kind of crazy but its a lot coming home. I still have a lot to work through but I know I can do it. I just need time, patience, kindness." She saw nothing but understanding. "Thats not a problem at all. I have been there too. I was just recovered before you got hurt apparently. So lets just cuddle more and if you want to explore my body go for it. And if you want me to explore yours tell me or show me what you want." He watched her nod a bit. He was hoping she would turn her body to face him but he wasnt sure she would. He waited patiently for her to decide how the night would proceed. He was almost shocked when she decided to roll over showing him what was hidden under her. He could see her cheeks tint red a bit. "Adorable that you are blushing but you dont need to. You are beautiful, stunning, sexy, this body is ridiculous. No need to be embarrassed at all." He pulled her closer letting her breasts press against his chest.

He pulled her body against his holding her tight. "This is nice." Kim whispered her eyes closed letting her heart beat slow some. "It is nice. This is what was missing from marriage. This level of intimacy. Just being comfortable enough to lay naked or mostly naked together. Just enjoying the silence and each other." He kissed her head his one hand on her shoulders and the other by her butt. Adam felt her fingers moving towards his scar, her fingers ghosting over the scar. "You are more than welcome to touch it. It doesnt bother me anymore." Adam was wondering if that was what she was thinking. "How long did it take before you could touch?" Kim asked. "Well I had to keep it clean most days on my own so right away. But it took maybe 6 months before I could touch it without flinching. Without cringing. Give it time. You will get there." He kissed her forehead.

"Sounds like a dream. One day." She smiled leaning up to kiss him. Turning the kiss into a make out session. It was getting hot and steamy. Adams hands roaming Kims body. He could hear her moaning under his touch. "What do you want?" Adam asked as his fingers roamed her body more. "Anything except sex. Im sorry." Kim moaned. "No need to be sorry. Im happy playing with you. Exploring your body. Im enjoying this immensely." Adam moved her body so she was laying on her back. He kissed down her neck, kissing over her chest. His hand caressing her breast as his mouth works the other. Kim moaned arching her back. Adam smirked pushing her back down. "I got you!" Adam whispered. His hand moved down her body. "Is this okay?" He asked moving her sleep shorts. "Yes!" She moaned out. "Perfect!" He pushed her short and panties down so he could play with her core.

"God baby!" Adam groaned out as he felt her core hot and wet. "So good baby!" Kim was worked up more than she thought possible for soft touches and kisses. Her nails digging into the back of his head. "I know! So hot!" He moved his fingers stroking her core. Between his fingers and his mouth on her breast brought Kim to a mind blowing orgasm that left her seeing stars long after the shockwaves subsided. When she opened her eyes she saw him watching her smiling smugly. Kim said nothing just pulled him in kissing him again. "Are you feeling better now?" He asked. "Never felt that good before. God insane!" Kim adjusted her hold so she could see him better. "What you said earlier about what was missing in your marriage?" She watched him nod. "That was missing from my relationship. I honestly never felt like that before. And I dont think I have ever come that hard before. You will be the death of me." She laughed a bit but it was the truth. "Im so happy to hear that! It was fun thats for sure." They settled together again neither talking just taking in silence.

Adam felt Kim starting to drift off. "I think you should wash up your core a bit before we sleep." He whispered to her. "Not the worst idea. I will be right back." Kim kissed him heading to the bathroom to wash up some. She returned shortly throwing onnsome clothes before joining Adam again. "You are allowed to sleep naked." He winked tickling her a bit. "I know that but we both need sleep before tomorrow. You have work and I havethe gym again." She sassed back. "Okay if I must. Goodnight, sleep well baby!" Adam kissed her softly. "Night baby! Skeep tight." Kim was out pretty quickly with Adam just watching her sleep. He drifted off an hour later tired from the day but happy with how it all went. Only time would tell what the future held. Especially when she returned to work. But it was worth it, they were worth it.
