"Marinette, where do you want the mistletoe?" Tikki asked Marinette. Marinette sighed, listening to the crackle of the fire. "Put back in the box, Tikki. You know there won't be any kissing this Christmas."

"Now, Marinette! Don't say that! Adrien could be home in time," Nikki flew over, giving her owner a hug.

"I-I just miss him so much," she pulled out a Kleenex and blew her nose. Adrien was on a business trip, and Marinette had told him to go. "Everything I want is miles away," Marinette walked over to

the window, staring out into the darkness. Okay, she wasn't completely alone, and she found comfort in

that. Her parents were renting a cabin in the woods, and her loyal Kwami was with her.

Good smells came from the kitchen where her mother was cooking Christmas dinner, while Papa was

Out on a mysterious mission. Though she hid it well, she knew her mother was worried about her.

But there was an ache to Marinette's heart, for Adrien wasn't just her husband, or her best friend, he was her partner. Her Cat Noir.

Her days were full, sewing Christmas sweaters, and she was all right during the day with all her distractions. As ironic as it was, she wished she had a mission as Ladybug right now.

It was at night her heart cried out, for when darkness fell, there was no Cat of the night.

Christmas shouldn't be a lonely time, Marinette thought. I have my family, my sewing...but I miss the Christmas's when you were mine, and you didn't depart from me.

Marinette shivered, had always been this cold, or was she missing the warmth of Adrien's arm around

her, the gentle green warmth of his eyes.

Everyone was here and everything was ready for their Christmas meal. Expect for you, my love, Marinette thought. Will I able to smile and laugh, when I'm lonely?

A blast of cold air chilled Marinette's cheeks as her father came in, smiling at his daughter. "You want

to give me a hand with the suitcases?" Marinette felt confused, until she saw an open door.

Adrien. Adrien! Marinette flew outside, cheeks wet from crying, but now from happiness.

"I've missed you, My Lady," he bent to kiss her hand. "Oh, I've missed you so much!"

"I'm glad you were able to come home. For Christmas isn't the same when you aren't mine."

Adrien's lips brushed hers. "Oh, My Lady, I'm always yours."
