A/N: A random lime I wrote lol. Please enjoy!
Kenshin's phone lit up with a text notification, drawing his attention from his computer screen. It was a message from Kaoru:
I need your help with a research project.
A grin appeared on his face, amusement dancing in his purple eyes. His girlfriend, Kaoru, was a romance novelist whose work was grounded in reality. Well, as close to reality as she could get through what she called 'research.' As the boyfriend, he was no stranger to her so-called research activities.
Just last week, she had dragged him to an amusement park to observe how young couples interacted. He spent the day with her, following and eavesdropping on various couples' conversations, all for the sake of her latest story. Only it was Kaoru who did most of the actual work. Kenshin just tagged along, munching on cotton candy and enjoying their quality time together.
He couldn't help but wonder what new 'research' she had cooked up this time. He faintly recalled that her latest project was about the life of a newly wedded couple. Did she need to walk through the process of picking out wedding rings? Or interview couples about their married life?
With a quiet chuckle, he typed Sure, already anticipating the adventure Kaoru would undoubtedly take him on.
"I'm home." Kenshin called out, taking off his brown leather shoes at the door. The living room light was dimmed, casting soft orange glows to the furniture. That was weird. Usually, Kaoru liked the house to be bright.
"Come here!" Kaoru's voice floated from upstairs.
Setting down his backpack, Kenshin walked up to the second floor where their bedroom was and poked his head in.
He snuck in a quick breath. There Kaoru was, lying on her side on the bed, dressed in a blue silky dress, the color emphasizing her own sapphire eyes, which at the moment, gleamed wickedly at him.
"Oro?"
"Do you like it?" Kaoru purred, running a finger lightly up her leg, pushing the already short hem of the dress even further up.
"Kaoru." He whispered, his hand flying up to undo his tie.
"How do you feel?" She asked, eyeing him coyly.
"Hot." The tie finally came loose. He inched closer to the bed.
"And?" Kaoru shifted into a sitting position, one strap of the dress falling sensually down her shoulder.
"Pleasantly surprised." He crawled onto the bed.
"Wait, hold on." Kaoru held up a hand, stopping him in his motion.
"Oro?"
"Let me," She twisted around, pulling a notepad and pen from underneath her pillow, "Jot that down right quick."
Watching Kaoru writing down notes furiously in the skimpy little dress, realization dawned on Kenshin.
"Kaoru," He sat on the edge of the bed, eyeing her suspiciously sideways, "This isn't one of your little research projects, is it?"
Kaoru fidgeted for a moment, put the dress strap back on her shoulder, and pouted, "Well, yes. I'm writing about the wedded couple's first night together, but my editor says I don't have it right."
"So you decided to torture your poor boyfriend."
"Don't you like it?" She moved closer to Kenshin, the silk rustling as she did, "I thought you would like it." She wrapped her arms around him, boldly pressing her breasts against his back.
"Kaoru!" He hissed as she deftly unbuttoned his shirt and snuck her hands in.
"Don't say you don't like it." Kaoru murmured, her hands drawing lazy circles on his chest.
"You little…" Kenshin trailed off.
"How do you like it? You can tell me." She whispered in his ear before gently nibbling his earlobe.
"It feels good…"
"Yeah?" She trailed his kisses down to his neck, teasing him as she undone another shirt button.
"Yes, I want more." Kenshin felt her hands slide downwards and he closed his eyes with pleasurable anticipation, but nothing happened. He blinked and turned around quizzically.
Kaoru kneeled over her notepad, jotting down more notes. He looked downwards and sighed. Time to take matters into his own hands.
"Kaoru?" He asked sweetly.
"Hm?" Kaoru made a grunt as she tried to remember how Kenshin looked a moment ago.
"You don't have to finish your research tonight, right?"
"No," Kaoru brushed a lock of her black hair away from her face, looking up quizzically, "Why?"
"Good."
And the next moment, Kaoru found herself bonded to the bedpost by Kenshin's tie.
"Kenshin!" She gasped, staring at the redhead.
Kenshin drank in hungrily the sight before him. He took in the silk that clung to her body, lingered at her breasts that were threatening to spill over from the top of the dress, and rested his gaze on her flushed face.
"Maybe your editor also wanted you to note how the woman felt on her wedding night." He wiggled his eyebrow.
"No," Kaoru squeaked, suddenly realizing the fire she has been playing with, "Just the guy."
"Are you sure?" Kenshin's hands slowly pushed the dress upwards.
"Yes yes," Kaoru nodded hastily, noting acutely how good his calloused fingers felt on her skin, "I'm 200% sure!"
Kenshin leaned forward, a smoldering look in his eyes, "Then as a reward, my good girl…"
Kaoru moaned as their lips met. She knew it then.
This was going to be a long research project.
