OK MEDIA LITERACY CHECK – if you lived on FUCKING MELSKIN would you actually want a world map that prioritizes maintaining distances along the equator where NO ONE LIVES and then distorts the land near the polls cuts that land in half? NO of COURSE they'd have two maps, bc there are two polls of civilization to either side of the planet (at least in my version lol. actually wait is there a south pole civilization in the original MOG? og moggers lmk i only read the first 11 pages lololol)

"Above the Rim?" asked Don. "We're supposed to believe that?"

"You asked!" Lickergisper looked near tears again.

"That's it," said Bar, "We go out on the deck."

The three handsome men scampered out on the deck, their many-jointed legs scurrying around the wet wood.

"Alright," said Bar, pointing to the stern. "You're from there, yes?"

"Yes," replied Lickergisper.

"But if we keep sailing that way, we hit the Rim," said Bar.

Lickergisper smiled, his jaws making an M shape, as happens when Melskinites smile (it's very cute). "Have you ever sailed that way?"

"No," said Don. "We'd fall off the damn Rim."

"There's no 'Rim'!" Insisted Licker. "If we keep sailing that way, we get to South."

That's funny, thought Bar. The flyers call the OTHER direction "South". I suppose it really was just a linguistic coincidence. He smiled as the methane continued to batter his face in thick globules. Now this was starting to make some sense.

Ok guys yeah I caught that in the original Bar and Don are actually from the South, but since Lickergisper wasn't even speaking English this was never a plot hole. also in case u were wondering, the NearCom takes in an input message in English and displays the received message in English but because it is psychic technology it gets translated to whatever the language of the brain on the other end is and then translates the next message from that language. So Lickergisper does NOT need to speak English to be talked to over NearCom in chap 1 and I better not see anyone saying he does bc i literally invented the NearCom so i choose how it works okie love u guys bye bye w
